Author Note: Yeah I know it hasn't been a week yet, but its Valentines Day and I'm so happy with all the reviews I've gotten I felt I had to reward. So enjoy this chapter and let me know what you think

Chapter Five

Miroku placed a sutra on the door of a home “there you go, no youkai should be entering this hut”
“Thank you monk Miroku,” the young woman said, blushing.
“It was my pleasure,” he said with a sultry smile “now I must ask you, would you do me the honor-” he suddenly felt an intense pain in the side of his head and knew what caused it “of a nice handshake?”
The girl looked at him confused, but reached out her had to shake his.
Miroku then gave a nod “thank you, miss” turning around he was greeted by a familiar sight “ah my dear Sango, how lovely it is to see you”
She raised an eyebrow “I’m sure it is, have you seen Inuyasha around?”
“Last I saw he was on Kaede’s roof,” he answered.
“Is he still sulking?” she wondered “it’s been over eight months since Kagome left with Sesshoumaru, hasn’t he gotten any better?”
Miroku shook his head sadly “you can’t expect him to get back to normal so soon. He was dealt a serious blow and there’s a chance he’s never going to be the same again. He loved Kagome more that life itself and to have her give birth to a child that wasn’t his, but his brother’s no less, hurt him badly”
Sango frowned and nodded “I know, I just hate seeing him look so down all the time”
“Don’t worry, he’s already shown he’s recovering by staying in the village for longer periods” he reminded “and he’s talking to us again, however little it is, it is still better than he was before”
Giving a small smile she nodded “yeah, your right”
“Come” he said as he placed an arm around her and started leading her to the old miko’s hut “let’s see if we can get him off the roof long enough to get something to eat”
Together they walked to the old woman’s hut and spotted their hanyou friend up on the roof. When Kagome had left it had been weeks before anyone caught sight of the hanyou and when they saw him, he looked like a broken shell of himself, staring off into a distant world. It was still many days before he even looked at anyone and another few weeks before he started talking, but even then it was very simple words spoke. No one could mention Kagome around him or he would take off and wouldn’t return for weeks.
“Hey Inuyasha are you hungry?” Sango asked.
The hanyou turned his head towards them and shrugged “I guess so”
“Well come down, Kaede’s made some lunch,” Miroku said.
Shippo came out of the hut just as the hanyou landed and looked at the houshi and taijiya “anyone who wants to eat better hurry before it gets cold”
Inuyasha was just about to enter when he paused for a moment, turning around he looked towards the forest.
“Is something wrong Inuyasha?” Miroku asked, noticing the change of mood from his friend.
“Something is coming” he stated and before he could figure it out a giant white dog came crashing out of the trees. His eyes widened, he would recognize that dog anywhere “it’s Sesshoumaru!”
Miroku gripped his staff, but couldn’t help, but notice “he runs pretty good on three legs”
“Miroku!” Sango shouted before slapping him over the head “we have to stop him before he destroys this village!”
“Never mind that I would be trying to figure out what set him off in the first place” the kitsune shivered “I’ve never seen him so wild looking before”
“Kirara!” Sango called, smiling when the fire cat came running out of the hut and transformed, climbing on she looked at Shippo “you stay here where it’s safe”
“Okay” he agreed. There was no way he was going to get close to the western lord when he seemed so out of control.
Miroku got on the fire cat behind Sango and they took off with the hanyou running along the ground as they rushed out to meet the canine. He had to confess he lost some of his courage when the canine turned blood red eyes towards them and snarled viciously. He had to admit he’d never seen the taiyoukai transformed before, there was that close call with the cat tribe, but it never happened.
Inuyasha quickly pulled out the tetsusaiga and unleashed the windscar at his brother. He had wanted a reason to kill his brother and now he had it. He would kill the bastard that took Kagome from him. He watched as his brother avoided his attack, but the movement caused him to become unbalanced and fall to the ground. The hanyou smirked “haha, hard moving on three legs is it?!” he narrowed his eyes “I hope you’re ready to die!”
“Hold it!”
The group froze and watched as an inu youkai came out of the trees. Inuyasha had to do a double take cause for a moment he thought he was seeing his father. The one time he’d seen his father, his father was a spirit, but the man before them was real. So who was this man that closely resembled his father?
Sesshoumaru snarled as he tried getting him “He is MINE!”
“Calm yourself!” Naylor growled before looking at the hanyou “so you are Sesshoumaru’s half brother…I can see much of my brother in you”
“Your brother?” Miroku asked, curiously.
He nodded as he watched the humans on the fire cat land “my brothers and I owned the four parts of Japan. The brother I am referring to was lord and general of the western lands and their father”
Sango’s eyes widened “you’re Inuyasha’s uncle?!”
“That is correct, my name is Naylor and I rule the northern lands” he nodded, turning to glare at the canine as he was still trying to get up.
Inuyasha, keeping eyes on his brother, asked “what brings you here? And what the hell is he so pissed off about?”
Naylor raised an eyebrow “his son has gone missing and the mother is gone as well”
“Kagome!” Inuyasha breathed before taking a firmer grip on his sword “what the hell happened?”
“Oh that is a long story” he sighed “but let’s just say there was a small misunderstanding and we thought the girl would come here where her friends are, is she here?”
Sango frowned “we have not seen her since Sesshoumaru took her after their son was born”
“I want them FOUND!” the taiyoukai roared as he stood up and took a snap at the hanyou, but he wasn’t steady yet and collapsed back onto the ground “he has her!”
Naylor glared at the canine “then scent her out if he has her! She’s not here boy”
Sesshoumaru growled darkly, but was finally able to stand up and stay up. Turning his red sights on his brother he bared his fangs, but at the same time registering that the girl was indeed not in the village. Once again his rage flared and he began howling towards the sky.
Miroku watched the taiyoukai with interest and then turned his sights to the hanyou’s uncle “how long has Kagome been missing?”
“From what we understand she took off sometime in the night,” he answered, “it wasn’t discovered until this morning she was gone”
Inuyasha looked at the youkai that claimed he was his uncle “so you mean to say she is out there unprotected and with the pup?!”
Naylor shrugged “we don’t know anything, only that she’s gone and took off in the night due to a misunderstanding. There are soldiers out looking for her as we speak” he jumped out of the way to avoid the snapping jaws of his nephew. He then glared at the angry canine “I said calm down, damn it!”
“I WANT HER FOUND” the taiyoukai roared, baring his fangs “I WANT HER NOW!”
Naylor opened his mouth to respond, but the canine suddenly took off back the way he had come and he sighed. He turned and looked at the group “if she does come this way, would you let us know?”
“I believe I maybe able to point you in a direction” Miroku mentioned.
Naylor raised an eyebrow “then please share, where do you think she’s gone off to?”
Miroku looked at the hanyou who was staring at him with hurt in his eyes, but he turned his attention back to the northern lord. He knew the hanyou had an idea what their friend may have done and most likely wanted to go after her to get her before the taiyoukai did, but it didn’t matter what the hanyou did their friend belonged to the western lord now and there was nothing they could do about it. She had his son, which made her his property whether to marry or not “Kagome is a smart girl and she would have known that coming to us would be the first place Sesshoumaru would look for her. But she doesn’t know the land too well she will see us after she’s sure Sesshoumaru won’t come here so she would go in a direction she was sure she couldn’t get lost if she went”
“She’d go in the opposite direction,” Naylor concluded.
“She’s traveled with us for a long time so she knows how to cover her tracks if she ever had to” Sango added.
The northern lord nodded “just knowing the right way will help us find her” he gave a small bow “thank you”
Inuyasha watched him leave before growling at his friend “you bastard, why did you tell him that?!”
“Because Inuyasha, they needed to know” Miroku said “it doesn’t matter how much you love Kagome, she belongs to Sesshoumaru now. She had his son, not yours. She will forever be his, not yours!”
“Miroku!” Sango snapped, surprised the monk was being so insensitive to Inuyasha’s feelings. She felt she could actually see him breaking from the inside out.
He sighed and looked at the hurt hanyou, suddenly feeling guilty for being harsh to his friend “I’m sorry to tell it like it is, but that’s the truth whether you like it or not. Whatever happened to make Kagome run will have to be settled between those involved”
Sango approached the hanyou had placed a hand on his shoulder “I would love nothing more than to go after Kagome, you don’t think I’m worried? I’m very worried for her, but Miroku is right and I don’t think Sesshoumaru went through all that trouble to get Kagome pregnant if he didn’t care for her on some level. This is something they are going to have to work out if they are going to live together and raise that baby”
Inuyasha merely stared at them with dull eyes. He hadn’t wanted to admit it, but it seemed it was official…Kagome was lost to him. Even if something were to happen to Sesshoumaru he still wouldn’t be able to touch her because she would remain in his brother’s home to raise their son so he could take over. She would never be allowed to touch another man whether she wanted to or not; her duty was to her son. He lowered his head, a son that should have been his.
Sango frowned when the hanyou suddenly took off into the forest and she looked over to the monk “I think you might have been too hard on him”
“I think so too” he sighed “but it was something he needed to hear or he was never going to be able heal completely”

Two days into searched and still nothing was found to help them find the missing woman and son. Sesshoumaru had eventually calmed down enough to return to his man form, but his eyes had stayed red and would not rest till he found the girl and his son. His uncle had tried asking many times what the girl meant to him, but the only thing he could say was that he wanted them found. Hime was still under watch and waiting for him to talk to her about her devious behavior, but his top priority was to find his son and his woman.

“Sesshoumaru” Naylor called as he approached the taiyoukai in the woods “I’ve thought of a way you can find her…if she wants to tell you where she is”
Sesshoumaru narrowed his eyes “explain”
“Dreams boy” he replied “you’ve entered her dreams many times before and now should be no different” he then gave his nephew a gentle elbow nudge “and perhaps while you’re at it you can attempt to fix any damage you have made” his expression contemplating a thought before he spoke as if it was no big deal “that is, if she’s willing to listen to you. After all you never went to visit your son and ignored them for over eight months, but I’m sure she’d be willing to listen to anything you had to say. I mean I’m sure you never gave her false promises”
The western lord growled darkly “don’t speak as if you know what goes on in my life” and walked off.
Naylor smirked; another piece of the puzzle was in place “I take it that means you just didn’t keep your promises?” he was starting to have fun with this. Judging by his nephew’s reaction towards anything he asked about the girl he was able to figure out what had gone between the two, whatever he wasn’t sure about he was able to get small hints here and there through Jaken. He now had an understanding of their history together, but he was still trying to figure out why his nephew chose the female.

Hours later and deep in the eastern lands, Kagome placed Kishi in the blanket his father had given him. Sighing she sat down near him and relaxed. She was wondering how long she was going to have to hide. After she had found the abandoned hut she had rested there for a while before taking off and traveling farther into the forest where she ended up finding another hut. It was in better condition, but also ended up being abandoned. Now she just had to hold out as long as she could and she began wondering how long was long enough. Looking down at her son, she smiled when she saw he was already sleeping. He seemed to be enjoying the outdoors and had fallen asleep easily at bedtime. Rubbing her eyes she didn’t realize how tired she was and figured it was best she get some rest as well.

~Dream~

Kagome found herself on a shoreline and was staring out into the oceans. She felt a presence next to her and moved away from it.
“Where are you?” he asked, gently.
She shook her head and began to blink to fight back her tears. She wasn’t going to be tricked this time, this was a false him and if she caved then she’d just be going back to the way things had been.
He moved to place a hand on her shoulder, but she shrugged him away “tell me where you are, please?”
Feeling some tears escape she quickly reached up and wiped them away. She’d never heard him like this before, but she reminded her self, he was different in dreams.
“Still not going to talk to me, are you?” he took a step towards her only to have her take three and didn’t make another attempt to get close to her “will you at least tell me if you and my son are safe?”
“You’re son is safe” she said simply, quietly.
He gave a small frown “and you? Are you safe as well?” she did not answer him and he sighed, “Kagome, will you at least talk to me?”
Kagome turned towards him, her eyes full of anger “talk to you? Talk to you? Why the hell would I want to talk to you?”
“I have made a mistake I realize that now” he admitted, “I should have made a stronger effort to see you and our son”
“Face it, you made no effort” she accused, glaring at him “I bet all you did when you got up in the morning was go out and patrol or do whatever it is you think you had to do and didn’t even think about the two you left in a room!” she ended up yelling.
“I did it for both of yours protection” he stated.
“You kept us locked in a room for our protection?” she asked in disbelief “over eight months shut in a room with no freedom! I couldn’t even take our son outside like any normal mother would want to do? If that’s your excuse, that your home isn’t safe for the two of us, you should have left us back at Kaede’s hut! I had friends I could talk to and I could have still have had my freedom!” she marched up to him and gave him a shove “I could have had a life beyond a gilded prison!”
“The youkai in my home have never had to deal with a human as an equal” he spoke “they see humans as weak and inferior, I did not want them to harm you”
Kagome’s eyes widened when she heard his reasoning and she yelled as loud as she could at him “that’s all the more reason you should have left me in that damn hut back at Kaede’s! I could care less about your staff and what they thought of me! You son of a bitch!”
He growled at her. He had never heard her curse before, but then again, he’d never seen her this upset before…not even with his brother “I wanted to have you both near me”
“But not with you” she shot back “you just did what you wanted and didn’t even think about the other people involved!”
“It was not my intention to have you in that room for that long” he said.
She glared at him “but we were and you didn’t even come and explain yourself. You didn’t even make an effort to come and say a simple hello!”
“I made a mistake” he said again “I wish to correct it”
“I don’t believe you” she replied quickly and with conviction as she stared at him with cold eyes “wake up Sesshoumaru, go spend time with your precious Hime”
His eyes narrowed “Kago-”
“Forget it” she cut him off “I don’t want to hear any more lies from you, I’ll wake myself up” and dug her nails into her skin.

~End Dream~

Kagome sat up fast when she realized she was in the hut. She sighed and lay back down, checking to make sure her son was still sleeping. Seeing he was awake and staring quietly at her, she smiled and touched his hand, he smiled back and laughed. If Sesshoumaru could enter her dreams she felt he would eventually find out where she was. Sighing she decided she could spend another day or two in the hut before she had to move on.

Meanwhile back at the taiyoukai’s home, Naylor was woken when a loud crash was heard that the building shook. Only wearing pants he ran down the stairs and made his way outside where he found his nephew in his true form destroying the gate walls of his home by throwing his body into the wall before rolling over on to the rubble. Sighing he approached the enraged youkai and he couldn’t help, but smirk “Sesshoumaru” he called and a snarl let him know he got the canine’s attention “I take it your conversation with her didn’t go well?”
Sesshoumaru snarled dangerously and snapped his jaws at his elder “I want them back, NOW!”
“I told you it wasn’t going to be easy” Naylor reminded, “she’s had months for any doubt or fears she had to become real to her”
“I want them BACK!” he roared.
“It’s going to take time Sessh-”
“NOW!” he snarled as he began howling into the night sky.
Naylor frowned. Anyone with eyes could see that his nephew what becoming unstable the longer that girl and his son were gone. The pain of his heart was now torturing the taiyoukai that was known to be an emotionless killer. The northern lord sadly shook his head, if only his nephew would admit whatever it was he was feeling “alright Sesshoumaru, let’s start looking now”

Two months since Kagome had run away and she still hadn’t been found. The taiyoukai made many attempts to speak with the girl in the world of dreams, but she would hear nothing he had to say, which would only infuriate him more and cause him to go on a destructive path. His patience…he had no patience anymore. Anyone that returned with news he didn’t want to hear was killed. Servants had become so afraid that they had not gone near him, especially since the lord had taken to being in his canine form all the time. He was out often searching for the woman and his son, but when he was at this home he was often heard howling into the sky.

During that time Kagome had covered much ground and there were some days she wanted to return to her friends, but as long as she had Sesshoumaru visiting her in her dreams she refused to even go in that direction. She had come across a few villages and helped people when she could, of course, through that time the people in the village, mostly the woman, loved to fawn all over Kishi. Though Kishi was not happy about it and would often growl at them, which only made the woman there find him even cuter and some would offer their homes for a night, which Kagome happily accepted. Currently she was resting in the woods near a stream where she was watching her son as he took his nap.

Meanwhile at this time, Edoksu, the eastern lord, was patrolling his lands with his eldest son that was in training to take over for when the time was right. Two months ago he had received word from a guard that Sesshoumaru’s son and the mother had taken off in the night and it was believed that she there was a possibility she might have headed towards his lands. So he had set out his guards to search for her and to listen at the villages for any word of a woman with a youkai baby. It had been a few days ago one of his guards had come to him and told him that they had heard some village woman talking, while gathering berries, about a cute, growling, little youkai infant with silver hair and blue eyes that was with a human woman. So now he was personally going to find the girl and bring her back to Sesshoumaru. Edoksu only hoped he would find the woman before his cousin lost his mind, from what he heard the taiyoukai wasn’t going to be able to hang on much longer. He had heard from his uncle that the western lord was pretty much going insane since the woman left and had grown increasingly violent, killing his staff and destroying his home.
A crying baby broke Edoksu from his thoughts and he looked into the tree line. If he remembered correctly there was a stream near by. He looked over to his son. His son looked much like he did only younger, wore his hair in a long braid, and had the common golden eyes. He noticed the infant’s cries getting quieter and started to walk towards the noise “come Ecaro”
“Yes father” the young man answered as he followed his father. He was curious to meet this woman his father had helped when at the western lord’s home. When his father had home telling of the newest addition to their family and the woman that had birthed him, he had been interested. He wondered as much as his father how his elder cousin came to know such a girl and how she and gotten hurt.
Edoksu nearly frowned when the crying stopped he knew he had been close to finding the source of the noise. He took a sniff, but the smell of the water from the stream made it difficult to pinpoint where they were, but soon he heard a woman’s voice and an infant laughter and he smiled. He made his way in the direction of the noise and in a few minutes he could scent them out, even after they had become quiet. However, when he came into sight of them he was not expecting to have an arrow pointed at him and he immediately froze. His eyes widened when he saw it was in fact the girl they had been searching for, but she looked different. Gone was the broken woman and in her place was a warrior mother and she looked like if he didn’t explain himself soon she was going to fire that arrow at him and wouldn’t even think twice about it. He heard a twig snap and saw her eyes shift to his son and now he knew they had to explain or she was going to shoot because she knew she was out numbered. Before he could explain them selves he heard his son.
Ecaro growled at the girl “you dare threaten us, human?”
Kagome turned the arrow at him and fired, quickly getting another arrow before they knew what was happening. She watched as the arrow grazed his skin and his eyes grew wide “I’ll kill anyone who dares to threaten me and my son”
Edoksu shot his son a look before looking back at the girl, giving a friendly smile and a small bow “please forgive me and my son if we’ve startled you, we mean you no harm”
She pointed her bow at him “what do you want?”
“We were merely walking and heard an infant crying” he answered “the woods are a dangerous place and we thought to check to see if everything is alright, but now we see everything is fine and the infant is not in danger” he could see the distrust in her eyes and he shook his head “how rude of me, I forgot to introduce us. My name is Edoksu and this is my son Ecaro, may I be so bold as to ask your name?”
She lowered her bow slightly, but it was still high enough to shoot it if she needed to defend her self “my name is Kagome”
Edoksu smiled “Kagome, it is a pleasure to meet you” he then heard a tiny growl and turned his head, he couldn’t see the infant from his position, but knew the little guy was behind her “and what is his name?”
“Kishi” she replied, simply.
“Father” Ecaro said quietly “isn’t that the name of-”
“Yes son” the eastern lord said quickly with an edge to his voice, a warning to his son not to say anything more. He had to approach this with caution or it could turn up with the two of them injured or dead and her running off again. He was sure he’d have no trouble tracking her now that he had her scent, but he didn’t want to go through all that trouble when she was right in front of them.
Her eyes narrowed “who are you?”
“I’ve told you who I am, I’m Edoksu,” he said, seeing the suspicious look in her eyes, he sighed and shot his son a glare. This was going to be a mess he knew it was “very well, I will tell you. I am the eastern lord, Edoksu and you are in my territory”
“And?” she probed further; there was more than what he was saying.
He eyed the weapon in her hand “I don’t mean you or your son any harm I give you my word, so put that weapon down. I will tell you everything so long as you promise not to run, but to talk with me”
She took a moment to consider what he was saying and eventually nodded. She placed her weapon down next to her, taking a quick glance to make sure her son was all right and saw him looking at her and holding out his arms towards her. She frowned as she thought about what she should do. If she held him then she wouldn’t be able to get to her weapon quickly if they should attack, but if she didn’t see to him he would begin to get fussy. Seeing his eyes start to water she smiled and picked him up, placing him in her lap as she then faced the two youkai that had taken a seat, but she noticed they kept their distance from her “alright, explain to me”
Edoksu gave a nod and smiled at Kishi only to receive an angry look in response followed by a growl. He had to chuckle at the little guy, but then turned to look at the woman. He had motioned to his son to keep their distance from the young woman so that she would feel more relaxed near them “well to start off, I know he is lord Sesshoumaru’s son because I have seen him before, two months ago”
Kagome looked shook her head “you’re lying, no one has seen my son before”
“I do not lie” he stated “I was visiting Sesshoumaru along with a few other lords when you…uh” he raised an eyebrow “took a trip down some stairs and then refused my help because you were looking for your son”
Her eyes widened as she recalled that event and she suddenly recognized his voice “I remember you, um, that is I remember your voice”
He gave a nod and smiled “it’s a pleasure to see you again and looking so well I might add”
She blushed and looked down to stare at her son as he looked up at her “thanks”
“Kagome” he said, seriously “we need you to return to Sesshoumaru”
She tensed and looked at him before glaring “I will never go back to him”
He frowned “I don’t think you quite understand what has been going on since you disappeared from his home”
“I don’t care what has been going on in his home” she stated, coldly “I want nothing to do with that place and I especially want nothing to with him”
“He wants you back” Ecaro said, “he’s been acting like a dangerous wild animal”
“Wild animal?” she repeated, confused. She’d seen the Sesshoumaru in her dreams as a kind, caring man and the real Sesshoumaru she knew was a cold-hearted asshole, but wild animal? She couldn’t picture it.
Edoksu gave a nod “and he’s becoming more uncontrollable the longer you’re gone and soon I fear he is going to start tearing Japan apart to find you”
“You’re fibbing me” she gave a half laugh, but she remembered some of her dreams and how unstable he looked then, he was practically begging in them now for her to return to him. Seeing the seriousness on their face she shook her head “come on, this is Sesshoumaru we’re talking about, he wouldn’t do anything so rash!”
“Our uncle who is the northern lord has been staying there in an attempt to keep Sesshoumaru under control” the eastern lord said “but I received word from him not long ago that he’s having a harder time keeping Sesshoumaru under control and the canine is getting ready to snap”
“He just wants his son back,” she stated, not believing what she was hearing.
Ecaro shook his head “he wants you both, he’s desperate to get you both back”
She shook her head “he doesn’t want me”
“He does” Edoksu insisted “Naylor told me that the only thing Sesshoumaru says is that he wants you both back and that he’s currently taking his frustration out on his home and his staff”
Kagome stared at him curiously “what do you mean by he’s taking his frustration out on his home and staff?"
The eastern lord frowned “he’s been destroying his home and killing any guard that returns without you. I’ve heard he’s even started killing servants for no reason”
Her eyes widened in shock “you’re lying!” her eyes began to water as all the pain she had felt before began to come back “the only reason he wants me back is so that he can have his son back and have his head concubine take my son and raise him as her own”
Ecaro growled, “where did you get a crazy idea like that?”
“Calm down son, she doesn’t know” Edoksu said and then turned his sights to the upset girl. His uncle had sent him a letter explaining what he could understand of the situation and told of the concubine that had told the girl lies “that concubine was lying” he said softly.
“No she wasn’t” Kagome sniffled, trying to hold back her tears “why else did he leave me in that room for so long?”
He frowned and he moved to get closer to her, but that made Kishi give a particularly loud growl, it was a warning for him to stay away from his mother. He decided to listen to the pup and sighed, “I don’t understand that part myself, but I know he’s not used to treating a female as an equal. He’s used to them being below him, but I’ve seen the room he gave you and I know he thinks of you above all the women”
“How does a room tell you that?” she asked, wiping away the tears that fell.
“I guess you don’t know what rooms in a lord’s home signify” Ecaro assumed and saw her shake her head.
Edoksu gave her comforting smile “my lady, there are two very important rooms. There is the room that belongs to the lord of the home and the other important room is meant to be her personal sanctuary and her room for when the lord is away for days on end. It belongs to the lord’s mate”
“Mate?” she said confused.
Ecaro chuckled a little “yes, his mate…or I guess in human terms, his wife”
Her eyes widened and she shook her head “no, you’re lying”
Edoksu sighed, “then come back with me and you can ask Sesshoumaru yourself”
“I can’t go back there,” she said sadly.
Dear lord was the woman stubborn. The eastern lord found himself growling “he is causing massive destruction and killing innocent beings because of losing you!”
“I’m afraid to go back to him,” she said with seriousness as she held Kishi a little closer to her “I don’t want to be put into that room again”
Edoksu looked at her with sympathy “come back with me, help us calm Sesshoumaru’s rage and I will see to it personally that you won’t be kept in that room again”
Kagome looked at him nervously and considered his words. Innocent people were dying because the taiyoukai was throwing a violent temper tantrum because she had taken his son. As scared, as she was to return, she knew she had to before any more people were killed “I’ll go back"

Edoksu smiled and stood up “then let us return as quickly as possible”
Kagome gave a tense nod as she stood up as well; wiping away some stray tears she had, as she made sure she had her things.
Ecaro approached the girl and took the sheet she was using to carry her things in “I’ll carry this for you” he said quietly as he leaned closer so he could whisper in her ear “I promise everything will be fine, there is nothing to fear”
Edoksu smiled as he quickly lifted the girl, which caused her to let out a ‘eep’ noise and she clutched her son closer to her “we need to move quickly and not waste anytime. With me carrying you we will be there in less than a day”
“Less than a day?” she echoed with concern, ignoring her son’s growling. He was always growling when someone got too close to them and she guess it was because she was always with him, he was protective of her.
“Yes” he confirmed, “you may have been gone for two months and days worth the travel, but I am a youkai and can travel great distances easily and quickly”
She frowned and nodded. She heard Kishi get a little louder with his growl before he reached out and smacked the inu youkai’s cheek. She gasped “Kishi!”
“Do not be mad at him” Edoksu chuckled “it is common for pups to not like anyone near their mothers, a pup is quite protective of their mother in the first year of their life. After all you’re his source of food and he is merely protecting what is his. He will calm down in time”
Ecaro smirked “yeah it’s an instinctive thing that all pups do, shall we go?”
Edoksu nodded “we’re ready, let’s get going”
Kagome quickly leaned into the youkai as he quickly sped off through the trees. She only hoped she was making the right choice by trusting this youkai, but this Edoksu knew about her fall and as far as she knew, no one knew of that incident except those that were there. That meant he had to be telling the truth and if he was then she felt she had to go back to Sesshoumaru so he would stop killing. She shivered, but deep down she did not want to go back, especially if she had to go back into that room. Just the thought of it had her starting to cry silently once again.
Edoksu sped through the trees and hopped over streams. He was glad the woman agreed to return back with him and he didn’t have to resort to other methods to get the woman to return. As he ran he felt the girl shiver and soon after felt his shirt get wet. Concerned, he chanced a glance down at the woman and saw that she was crying. He knew she was scared to return to his cousin and to be stuck in that room again, but he was a youkai of his word and he promised she would not go back into that room so he would see to it that she would be able to come and go from that room as many times as she wanted. He knew he would have to talk with his cousin about it and tell him what staying in that room did to her and how scared she was he would put her back in the room. He spoke as gently as he could “have no fear, I will talk with Sesshoumaru about the room and his behavior. Do not be afraid, I have a feeling that even if I don’t talk to him he won’t be keeping you in that room again”
“I’m still scared to go back” she replied quietly.
“I don’t blame you either” he understood and they both grew silent.
It was near nightfall when they reached the western lord’s home and there Kagome saw the devastation of the taiyoukai’s home. She had to gasp at the sight she saw. It looked like a war had hit the home, the gate she had first entered was destroyed and the surrounding walls had collapsed. There were holes in the ground caused from…she wasn’t totally sure. Some marks were either done from a sword or a large canine’s claws and the nearby trees had been completely demolished. There were bloodstains on what was left from the collapsed walls and on the home as well.
“Father” Ecaro said in total shock “this is horrible”
Edoksu nodded, surprised how bad it was himself “yes son I’m starting to think Naylor down played the seriousness of the situation”
Kagome looked around and noticed one missing item “where is Sesshoumaru?”
“I do not know” the eastern lord replied, “let’s go in and see if we can’t find someone who knows”
The four of them entered the home and looked around. The inside wasn’t much better for there was now dry blood painted on the walls, the stair railing was broken in many places, and the place seemed deserted. Kagome held her son to her as her anxiety began to rise the more destruction she saw.
Edoksu heard a sound and quickly had mother and child get behind him “whose there?”
A door to a meeting room opened and the northern lord stepped out “Edoksu, what on earth are you doing here?”
“Where is Sesshoumaru?” the eastern lord asked.
Naylor frowned and sighed “he’s out on a rampage right now. I would be out there trying to calm him, but he’s becoming more unreasonable and has pretty much stopped listening to me. I had to send the surviving servants and guards to my home so he wouldn’t kill them”
“Will he come back here?” he asked.
“Yes” he nodded with curiosity “he still returns here in case his son and the mother return, but he doesn’t stay long before he goes into a rage and it starts all over again. Why do you want to know?”
Ecaro placed the woman’s things down “because we’ve found them”
Naylor’s face showed his surprise as he watch the eastern lord move aside to show a nervous woman holding a growling youkai infant. He remembered the girl from her incident with the stairs “thank goodness you’re here” he breathed out.
“Uncle” Edoksu said “I must speak with Sesshoumaru if she is going to stay here”
“Right now he isn’t going to listen to anyone one” Naylor told them “he doesn’t want to hear anything from anyone, he barely even speaks. Only says the same things over and over again”
“What is that?” Ecaro wondered.
“That he wants them back,” he stated, as he looked over the woman “that he wants her with him again”
Kagome’s eyes widened when she heard that and she back away in fear. There was no way what this man said was true. Sesshoumaru only wanted her because she had his son and his heir. He wanted his son back and she was going to be put back in that room again. She did not want to go back in that room again, she wouldn’t go, she would kill herself before she would be stuck back in that room again.
Sensing her rising panic, Ecaro placed a hand on her shoulder “you are safe and have nothing to fear, my father always keeps his word and he said you wouldn’t be left in another room again”
Naylor eyed the girl and watched her behavior. His nephew had really dug himself a deep hole and he was going to have to put in a real effort or she was going to either run again or take her own life. He took a step towards the girl “he’s right my girl, whatever it is my nephew has done that caused you to run, we will be seeing that it does not happen again”
“See you’ll be fine” Edoksu smiled at her “we’re not going to let anything happen to you or your son”
A howl suddenly pierced the night sky and the ground began to shake. A moment later, snarling could be heard and was followed up by more howling causing the walls of the home to shake with the threat of collapsing.
Naylor looked over to the eastern lord “we have to go outside so he can see her. He’s become so enraged that he’s taken to his true form and has yet to revert back”
Edoksu nodded and placed an arm around the girl’s shoulders, leading them outside “let’s go” he lowered his head and whispered in her ear “don’t be afraid, we won’t let him hurt you or your son”
Terrified of seeing the taiyoukai again, she could only nod, as the sounds got louder. She heard Kishi give a whimper and knew he was about to cry. She didn’t hold him responsible him either. Anyone that felt the immense power they were feeling would be afraid also and she did the only thing she could think of and that was hold him closer to her. He still whimpered, but he seemed to have toned it down. Being lead outside she began to walk slower, but the eastern lord behind her kept nudging her along.
A moment later the giant canine could be seen approaching. He looked fiercer than the day Kagome had seen his transformation for the first time, but at the same time he seemed tired. His teeth were bared as he growled, but he also had his tongue out the side as he approached his home.
Naylor cautiously move toward the taiyoukai and looked up at him “Sesshoumaru” he called to get his attention. A snarl was his response and he quickly moved to avoid the snapping fangs of his nephew “Sesshoumaru, we’ve found them”
Sesshoumaru turned his red gaze onto his uncle and roared, “I want them BACK!”
He sighed and looked over to the two “come over here, don’t be afraid, nothing is going to hurt you”
Kagome stood where she was until she felt Ecaro give her a slight push and she slowly walked towards the northern lord and the large canine. When the red eyes came to look in her direction she absolutely froze. She heard his growling become quieter as he reined in his power. In a flash of light the canine was gone and a red-eyed humanoid Sesshoumaru was in its place. She couldn’t read his expression and the more he stared at her the more nervous she became. Unconsciously she took a step back, which made the taiyoukai cautiously walk up to her. She saw him eye his son before staring at her, his breathing slow and deep. The longer he stared at her with those red eyes she found herself nearly ready to piss her pants in fear, but she completely tensed when his arm moved around her to pull her close to his chest, being careful not to crush their child, and his head came to lean on her shoulder where she could hear him breathing deeply. It was then she realized he was sniffing her neck and she wasn’t sure what to make of it.
Naylor sighed, he knew it was still going to take some work, but at least now they didn’t have to worry about a rampaging canine killing all who stood in his path “let’s go inside, it’s getting late and I’m sure the little one is tired”
Sesshoumaru felt the tense woman in his arms tense even further before feeling her shiver against him. He growled and immediately picked her up before she knew what was happening, bringing her inside his home. When the eastern lord and his son attempted to stop him he snarled darkly “move"
Ecaro flinched. He knew he wasn’t powerful enough to stop his elder cousin and knew his father wasn’t either, especially when the taiyoukai was as angry as he was, but he heard his father speak softly to not put the young woman back in the room she had been left in.
The western lord did not answer them as he continued on his way. He carried the woman and his son up the stairs and to the opposite end from where he had once left her. Using his foot he opened the door and brought her inside, bringing her over to a western crafted bed, setting her down on the edge he then went and close the door. He turned around and approached her once more, kneeling before her, and placing his head in her lap while his hand moved to the side of her thigh to keep her from moving away from him. He said nothing, but stayed where he was.
Kagome watched him in silence as he buried his head in her lap and hugged her legs. Never did she ever think she would see the day when the taiyoukai would let his guard down in front of anyone. She knew she was seeing the real him, he would never do this just to trick someone. Before her was not the great youkai warrior, but an insecure man. Not sure what to say or do, she just left him as he was…that was until Kishi growled and kicked his own father in the head. She felt herself tense all over again and watched as the taiyoukai lifted his head and turned his still red gaze to his son.
Sesshoumaru stared at his son and reached his hand out to touch his son’s foot. He felt the girl tense further and he released his son’s foot, but never took his eyes off him “it’s late, he should rest” and looked to the end of his bed “he can sleep there”
Kagome followed his gaze and saw her son’s crib at the end of the bed. At first she wasn’t going to do it, but quickly reconsidered. For now she felt it would be best to comply with the taiyoukai until he was completely back to normal because right now she wasn’t sure what he was capable of. Standing up she walked over to the crib and set her son inside it, she realized that his blanket was in the sheet she had been carrying around and was currently now downstairs. Softly she spoke “his blanket is downstairs”
Sesshoumaru walked up behind her and peered over her shoulder “it is a warm night, he will be fine” he placed his hand on her shoulder “you should rest”
She had to admit that she felt exhausted from all her crying earlier and her fear, but she was still scared that she was going to be left in a room again. She felt him direct her towards the bed and had her lay down. She didn’t resist him and she let out a breath when he placed the covers over her before leaving her sights. She heard him walking and heard the sound of clothing being removed before feeling the bed dip, telling her he had gotten in the bed with her. It was confirmed when his arm came over her and pulled her to his chest. She heard him let out a breath as his head rested against her back. After a tense hour she eventually relaxed and fell asleep.

Author Note: Well how did you like that? Next time they will have their talk and deal with Hime. Hmm well seems like all is going well so what could possibly happen after all this?
