            Kagome stopped by a hot spring before returning to her friends. She smelled so strongly of sex that even their human noses would know where she had been. As she sank slowly into the water, her desires ebbed away, and she was glad of it. Kagome closed her eyes and lay back so that the water submerged her head, excepting her face. She was tired physically from so much vigorous exercise and emotionally from being aroused all the time. Now that her instinct had calmed down for the time being, she had the time and mental capacity to think about something other than sex. She had had so much sex lately-

          Kagome opened her eyes and sat up with a start, her hand going to her belly. Perhaps she ought to go see Kaede after all. Luckily, the village was only an hour’s run away.
           “No, Kagome, you’re not with child. But perhaps you should be more careful. You are still in heat, and very fertile. It was sheer dumb luck that kept you from conceiving.”

           “But I can’t seem to stop having sex. I can hardly control myself.”

           “Aye, I understand. But think, girl. There must be some magic in your world to help you.”

            “There is, but I can’t go home looking like…” She trailed off, running her fingers through her silver hair. Her ears twitched.

            “Then I’ll make ye an herbal tea. If ye brew it and drink it in the morning and at night, it should be strong enough to render you sterile. Temporarily, of course. If you miss even one dosage, it might not work. And be sure to drink even the dregs.”

            “I understand. It’s like The Pill.” She saw the old woman’s confusion. “Nevermind. Thank you, Kaede.”
             Once the tea bags were ready, Kagome ran the rest of the way to her friends. They had not traveled far in the day and a half she was gone, and were easy enough to track. Since it was almost sundown, they decided to set up camp and make dinner. Kagome made her tea.

           “What’s that?” Shippo asked, sniffing at it. He made a face. “It smells like dirt.”

            “It tastes like dirt, too,” Kagome replied. “It’s a special tea Kaede made for me. I guess it’s some sort of contraceptive. ”

            Kagome’s friends, except for Shippo, who didn’t know the word, nodded knowingly. Shippo decided not to push the matter, since Kagome seemed not to want to talk about it.
             “Kagome?” Miroku whispered in the dark. Everyone else was sleeping. “Are you awake?”

           “Yes. It’s hard for me to sleep lately.”

            “Do you want to talk about it?”

            “Yes, actually. It’s just…” She paused for a moment, trying to find the right words. “It’s like being hungry, but no matter how much I eat, I can’t feel full. Actually, the more I eat, the more I starve. I feel as though I’ll never be satisfied. It doesn’t seem normal, or healthy, to be in heat this long. And, on the rare occasion that I am temporarily satiated, I feel horrible. Dirty. ”

          “I’m not sure what to say, Kagome. I understand intellectually what’s going on, but I have never been in such a situation, and can’t conceive what it must be like for you. Truly, you haven’t been yourself, sneaking off with InuYasha or Sango every chance you get.”

          “You’ve noticed?”

          “Yes. I think the only one who hasn’t noticed is Shippo. I’ve also noticed you looking at me sometimes. Kagome, have your feelings led you to be attracted to me?”

          “No. But yes, as well. I’m attracted to all mature males, even the ones I wouldn’t normally be interested in. I bet if I went home and saw Hojo, I’d throw him to the ground where he was and-” Kagome stopped. She could smell Miroku becoming aroused. “Oh Miroku! I’m sorry.”

          “Think nothing of it, Kagome. I’m used to it. It happens a lot, and I can ease it myself, a little later, after our talk.”

           “But…”

          “No, Kagome. Don’t feel sorry for me. It’s a minor discomfort.”

          Miroku’s scent was driving Kagome insane; she had tired out InuYasha, Sango, Kouga, and even Sesshomaru. But she still hungered. She looked over to the monk, who only wanted to help.

        “I know a way you can help me feel better, Miroku. And it’ll make you feel better, too.”

        “How do you mean?” In answer, Kagome nibbled at his ear, careful not to apply too much pressure; she knew she could pierce his ear without even trying. He moaned softly. “Are you sure you want to-"

         “Yes.” She lifted him and went to a secluded area. “Now, Miroku, what do you want, exactly?”

          “Huh?”

          “If you don’t claim dominance, then I will. ”

          “Kagome, are you-”

          “Yes! I’m quite sure. Now stop dawdling and tell me what you want!” Kagome’s golden eyes flashed with anticipation and lust.”

          “How about I show you?” Miroku said, removing his robes. Kagome smiled and joined him in undressing. She began to lie down. “Nope. There’s something I’d like to try.” He picked Kagome up, grabbing her beneath the thighs. He pinned her up against a tree and entered her. She winced, but not in pain. The position Miroku had chosen led to increased pleasure over the position she had assumed he would want. She gasped and moaned with each thrust. After half an hour, however, she felt bored with this position. As if Miroku had anticipated this, he pulled out and lay down and motioned for Kagome to sit. When she started to sit facing him, he slapped her ass. “Face away from me. I want to see your ass move as you fuck yourself on my dick.” Kagome, intrigued, did as she was told. She started moving her hips, back and forth, going faster the longer she went. When she got tired, she stopped to take a breath, but Miroku spanked her. “I didn’t tell you to stop.” This aroused Kagome further, and she went even faster. Miroku spanked her a few times, when she started to slow down. Kagome cried out with each slap, and the two of them came together. Miroku lifted Kagome off of him and he lay down, panting.
           “Damn. I’ve tired you out, too? But What’s going to happen when I get going again?”
