A/N: Okii dokii! I got mad at this story last night on AFF because of the lack of attention it was getting versus FF. But then I realized not as many people get on AFF, so it's okay. I don't mind. One reader is enough to make me persist . . . However, now I have like three! (That I am aware of, lol)
Manda ~ Awe. Thank you. To be honest, I thought it wasn't descriptive enough so that is reassuring. =)
FourShotChild ~ I might have to go look at that, thank you for pointing it out. That was Inuyasha dreamin' and me giving the flashback for what had happened in highschool. I didn't want the dream to cut out right when I got my point across, so I gave a shout-out to the original story line. Maybe I should change it to avoid confusion?

Chapter 4~ First You're Hot, Then You're Cold

The much desired sleep Inuyasha was seeking, wasn't going to come anytime soon. Atleast not with the scent of Kagome all around him and the confusion that managed to stick with him even after the couple hours it'd been since their spat.

It didn't add up.
It was there. After all those years, their connection was still there, but she didn't seem to want to believe it.
And what was the deal with Kouga?
The sudden thought of that wolf shit getting into the bed with Kagome made his eyebrow twitch. With a smirk, the hanyou rolled over in the bed, sniffed, then rolled around again, trying to rub his scent into the miko's sheets.
'Keh, if Kouga ever wants to get in here, all he is going to smell is me.' He thought wickedly, thinking about getting on the floor and repeating the process.
"Inuyasha?"
The door creaked open and Inuyasha quickly snapped his eyes shut. He heard soft footsteps pad across the room and stop beside the bed. "I thought I heard you moving around in here." Kagome whispered.
The glass by his head was picked up and his ear twitched while he listened. The miko giggled quietly.
The hanyou playing possum felt her index finger and thumb begin to rub the base of the furry appendage. He ground his teeth, trying to keep his pleasured growl in his throat. She always loved his ears, but he barely ever let her play with them; major erogenous zone.
She stopped a moment later, possibly due to the face he was probably making trying to concentrate on everything but pitching a tent in her blanket, and he heard her leave his side. The door shut and he was left sitting in the dark even more confused -and horny- than before.

Inuyasha woke up, wondering what time is was when he finally fell asleep, to his phone vibrating like crazy in his pocket. Having a vague idea of who it was, he flipped it open and saw nearly twenty missed calls and fourteen voice-mails from his ex fiance.
Suddenly pissed, he threw it at the wall. When it hit, it made a loud thud, sending a disoriented miko running into the room.
Inuyasha leaned back and took in the sight. Her hair was in a disheveled mane around her heart-shaped face, her lips were parted, obviously from surprise, and the large t-shirt, the only thing she had on, he noted, was hanging off one smooth shoulder. He grinned.
"Good morning."
"What was that noise?" Kagome asked, straightening out of the stance she had entered the room in, bringing up a fist to rub one of her eyes.
She still wasn't awake completely.
The hanyou shrugged and got up out of the bed, watching her nod and turn to walk from the room. He quickly followed. Unable to stop the arm that wrapped around her shoulders or the calloused thumb that began to rub back and forth over the exposed skin. Blatant confusion took over her features and Kagome looked up at him.
"Inuyasha?"
"Sorry."
The miko nodded slowly, not knowing what to say, and walked out of his grasp. "I'm going to take a shower. Sango will be here in a little bit, and you can sleep off last night." She yawned.
Inuyasha didn't bother to hide his look of surprise. "You're leaving me in your apartment?" He paused and she looked over that damned bare shoulder at him. "Alone?"
"Sure. You aren't going to rob me, are you?" She didn't wait for an answer, continuing to talk. "There's food in the pantry and fridge. I have left over curry from the other night in the blue container, but . . . " The miko turned and pointed threateningly at him. "If even a bite of my cheesecake is missing, I swear that you'll regret it, Inuyasha." The look on her face told him she was dead serious and he nodded vigorously, scared to ask what was up with her and that freakin' dessert.
"Good." Kagome smiled brightly and the image of a bi-polar, psycho killer popped into the hanyou's mind, but he pushed it away to keep himself from grinning, and instead watched her cute ass sway back and forth as she disappeared down the tiny hall. There was the slam of a door and then water turned on.
"Damn woman . . . "Inuyasha ran a hand through his own messy hair and stalked over to the bag up against the counter and bent over to dig through it.
"Mwraaaaah."
Looking up from his excavation, he saw Buyo come bounding around the corner.
"Buyo! C'mere you fat pussy!" Inuyasha grinned from ear to ear and leaned forward to pick the obese cat up by the front paws. He dangled him in the air and, much to the cat's irritation, swung him back and forth.
The sound of the front door opening made Inuyasha's ears flick back and looked back over his shoulder to see Sango step into the room. "Yo." He said, dropping the fat cat when it hissed and used one of it's back claws to cut his arm.
Sango raised an eyebrow. "Good morning?" She walked across the room, careful to step over Buyo who had plopped himself in the middle of the living room and proceeded to clean his beans, and set her magenta purse-the one that matched her favorite eyeshadow- on a bar stool. "No hangover?"
"Half demon."
"Oh, I forgot." She said. There was an awkward pause and Sango opened her mouth like she had something to say but snapped it shut again. Not sure how to phrase her next question.
"Kikyou was cheating." Inuyasha finally said, pulling out a light blue, muscle shirt and some grey, washed out jeans. He didn't expect her to say anything, so he went on. "She had a cheap phone in her purse filled with messages between her and her boss."
"'Yash . . . " The brunette shook her head, and leaned against the wall, crossing her arms. "We all knew it was going to happen sooner or later, even you did. Throughout highschool, there was constant rumours going around about her and professor Onigumo, but you refused to believe them."
Inuyasha's ears flattened. "Keh."
"See. Denial." Sango sighed and went into the kitchen; the hanyou followed.
"Why does Kagome act weird around me. I still feel comfortable being around her, but she is just . . . I dunno." He said, avoiding his old friend's gaze, a light blush tinting his cheeks.
"She doesn't want to get close to you again because she thinks you are going to go back to Kikyou." Sango stated, going in the fridge. She scanned the shelves until a large container caught her eye. She pulled it out and went to set it on the counter, but Inuyasha snatched it out of her hands.
"What the-" Sango started, but shut up quickly.
"Inuyasha!"
A wet Kagome wrapped in a fluffy white towel appeared behind him.
"No, Kagome. She-" He tried to explain that he was trying to keep her cake safe, but Sango cut him off.
"I tried to stop him, Kaggie." She said, taking the cake back from the sputtering hanyou, the grin on her face making him growl. She placed it back in the fridge and then went over to her best friend, placing her hands on the furious girl's shoulders. "He didn't mean it. It's Inuyasha, remember?" Sango steered Kagome into her bedroom and kicked the door shut with her foot.
Inuyasha grumbled as he made his way into the bathroom, Buyo following behind him.
The washroom was light blue in color with a beach theme. A basket of sea shells were on the counter, and a ceramic crab with huge eyes stared up at him from the back of the toilet. He glared at it. How was he supposed to pee with that weird-ass thing sitting there? The hanyou yanked his shirt over his head and dropped over the bug-eyed decoration, took a piss, and then went over to the bathtub to turn on the hot water.
"Inuyasha!" Kagome's voice came from the other side of the door and the hanyou's ears flattened, waiting for her wrath. Instead he got, "Let me in really quick!" He sauttered over to the door and opened it slowly, revealing Kagome in a red tank top and khaki cargo shorts with her still wet hair throw up in a messy clip do.
The miko, who was originally planning to push past him, stopped and stared. Her eyes drifting farther and father away from his face, over his sculpted chest, down his flat abs, until they came to rest on his unbuttoned pants. She licked her suddenly dry lips.
"Kags?" Inuyasha asked in a teasing voice, the corners of his mouth turned up in an arrogant grin. "You needed something?"
The miko jumped. "Yeah."
Inuyasha waited but she just stood there, her eyes glued to the floor, obviously embarrassed. He held back a chuckle. "What is it?"
"Oh!" She squeezed past him, trying to keep her body from touching his, and grabbed a little black bag off the counter. "Okay, gotta go! Sango and I are going to the spa." She smiled, going to slid out of the room, but the hanyou caught her arm, hauling her up against him.
"You keep trying to avoid what's obviously here, Kagome," Inuyasha mumbled, walking forward until her back was against the wall, his body pressing against her deliciously. Inwardly, they both groaned. "I'm going to make you feel it, because honestly," He leaned down and gently bit the side of her neck, earning a sharp gasp from the blushing miko. "I couldn't stop thinking about you all those years. I ain't gonna mess up again or let ya leave." He brought his face up and their eyes met. Smoldering amber and sparkling sapphire. This time, despite the fact he could see all the emotions, including confusion and doubt, swirling in those blue depths, she didn't break the gaze.
"Inuyasha . . . " She whispered, bringing her free hand up to his cheek. He nipped playfully at her fingers and then leaned down to kiss her, but Sango's yell of, "Hurry the hell up, Kagome, we have an appointment!" made her jump and wiggle her way from his hold.
He watched her run down the hall, stop and look over her shoulder, wave nervously, then disappear out the door with her impatient friend.
Inuyasha began grumbling again as he went over and shut off the hot water, switching it to cold. 'Not even one day and this is the second time. She's gonna break me.'

A/N: Meh, this one feels a little longer. Look foward to Sango and Kagome's Spa day tomorrow and what ever else I like to thrown in! =D
