Chapter Five

Yuki wasn't a quiet baby at the best of times and InuYasha found himself often woken up in the middle of the night to feed him or to make sure he was alright. Like a female he was able to produce milk and didn't care what other's thought. Yuki meant the world to InuYasha who found himself helping Lady Kaede as well as not to depend on his mother. Kouga and Miroku spent most of their free time with both InuYasha and little Yuki and InuYasha began to notice how much closer Kouga seemed to be getting and it worried him. Kouga would stay longer and sometimes came alone and eventually confronted him about it. His answer had been a passionate kiss on the mouth; a kiss that ALMOST equalled in passion to Sesshomaru. Kouga kept kissing the hanyou however he soon realised that the hanyou was not responding and stopped. He gazed down at his friend in remorse.
"I apologise InuYasha. It won't happen again" and with that the young wolf prince had left and had not returned to visit till a week had passed. That had been 6 months ago and although it was awkward at first; their friendship survived and things went back to normal or as normal as things went. Yuki was growing well and happy however there was always a hint of saddness that lurked between 'mother' and son and that was a feeling of being incomplete and it was something that refused to go away. InuYasha could only hope that Sesshomaru was feeling the same.
Sesshomaru paced in fustration. His youkai had continued to refuse any other available female or male as its mate and it angered him. Both his father and mother watched as they were unable to do anything and even InuKimi had to admit that prehaps InuYasha was the right choice for Sesshomaru. InuKimi was disgusted with herself at her misguided mistake which she hoped could be rectifyied in the near future. InuKimi heaved heavily as she began her path to right the wrongs she had comitted.
InuYasha watched as his mother got ready for work as he held a sleeping Yuki in his arms.
"Right then I'll be back at 10 tonight so I may see you later or if not I'll see you in the morning" Izayoi said as she kissed both InuYasha and Yuki on the cheek before leaving. InuYasha gently placed Yuki in his crib to sleep and was about to have a nap of his own when he heard a knock at the door.Thinking it was Kouga or Miroku or even both he called out for them to come in however when he entered the living space to greet them he came face to face with one person he didn't think to see. InuKimi stood there in all her splendor; dressed in beautiful clothes of silk and looking perfect. He scowled at her and bared his fangs in warning. InuKimi smirked and bowed her head in acknowledgement.
"You have no need to fear me little one. I have to admit that I am surprised as you are that I am here and that I actually want to be here" InuKimi stated causing InuYasha to relax somewhat although he still didn't trust her; not with his young son so close.
"What do you want bitch?" he snapped. InuKimi tutted at him in disgust.
"Such language is unfit for a mother. I hope you do not rub such things on your pup" InuKimi all but sneered. InuYasha's amber eyes narrowed wondering what her objective was.
"I'm here to ask that you return; Sesshomaru needs you" InuKimi said almost pleading him. InuYasha's ears pricked and he looked hopeful. Was his brother will to accept Yuki? His own son?
"Did he send you?" he asked. InuKimi shook her head slightly.
"He doesn't know I'm here however I've seen him and although he won't say it outright himself, he does want you" InuKimi pleaded.
"What about Yuki?" he asked. InuKimi sighed heavily. This was not going to go well she could tell.
"Bring him with you but know that he'll be seen as a bastard. That's never going to change" InuKimi stated cooly.
"Then my answer is...NO. I will not allow my son to be subjected to their cruel taunts just because his father won't accept him" replied InuYasha.
"Is that your final answer?" she asked and all she recieved was a nod of InuYasha's head.
"Then I wish you luck" and with then she walked passed him, letting herself out. InuYasha stared at the closed door for a while; confusion had set within him. InuKimi had made her feelings of disgust ever since his father and brought him to live with him so for her to come here and speak civilly to him and almost pleading him to return for Sesshomaru was almost like she was accepting him. He blinked for a moment and a saddness fell over him. Her acceptence had come too late. He walked over to his room and entered and looked down at a sleeping Yuki. Tenderly he rubbed one of his small ears. If they had gone with InuKimi his precious son would of been labeled a bastard; by his own father.
Sesshomaru sat quietly as he read when he heard his mother enter the room. His mother was up to something. He could sense it and it annoyed him. He narrowed his amber eyes as he attempted to figure it out. His mother was sneaky and it was not unusual for her to be plotting or scheming something; it was just the way she was. To be honest if his mother wasn't up to something then Sesshomaru would indeed be worried.
"Guess what I did today?" InuKimi asked out of the blew.
"Began your grand scheme to cause trouble?" he answered dryly.
"Close I saw InuYasha and he seemed to be doing well" she replied, smirking at the icy glare she recieved.
"I should care because?" he asked dryly. InuKimi rolled her eyes.
"You care for him. You miss him and both you and your youkai want him. Your heart yearns for his and you want to mate him and for him to bear your pups." stated InuKimi earning herself a harsh cold glare from her son.
"That is ridiculous who would want a pathetic hanyou" InuKimi smirked evily at that.
"You did when you decided to sleep with him and then impregnating him. I admit I was not happy when I heard of the situtation however I came around to the idea once I saw that it was the only way I'd ever have grandpups was if you mated InuYasha since you were not interested with anyone else" claimed InuKimi. Sesshomaru growled at her even though she was indeed correct. InuKimi smiled knowing that she had successfully struck an nerve. Sesshomaru's right eye twitched involuntary revealing his annoyance.
"Considering the fact InuYasha is also a son of your father, mating him would keep the business within the family and prevent those money grabbing nobles from sinking their claws into you through their silly daughters" InuKimi continued as she scrunched her porcline doll face slightly in disgust. A slight grin appeared on his own face. His mother loved relishing the knowledge that SHE was royalty and that no other was purer that herself. She like many full demons prided herself on her pure strong bloodlines that wasn't tainted unlike some of the nobles. The nobles had many skeletons in their closets such as various bastards and some had human ancestors that they worked hard to hide however secrets like that never stayed that way especially with InuKimi.
"What about his tainted blood? That would blacken your name after all and especially now that he's got a bastard of his own" Sesshomaru stated with a smirk.
"Perhaps however you could always accept the pup as a ward and that way everyone will gain something" reasoned InuKimi. Sesshomaru sighed and nodded his regal head acknowledging that his mother did indeed have a point. He straightened himself up before giving his mother a serious gaze.
"Tell me where he is" his tone was commanding and cold; shivers ran down her spine. She was so proud of her son. She smiled mischeviously.
"Gladly" was all she said before giving her son the information he needed. Once that was done, Sesshomaru swiftly departed to retrive a certain hanyou.
A loud knock at the door woke InuYasha from his sleep. Grumbling, he slowly got up and covered himself with a robe and prayed that Yuki would remain asleep.
"Alright I'm coming hold your horses" he growled out and thankfully the knocking stopped and InuYasha sighed in relief to not hear Yuki's cries. He opened the door and gazed up at the one person he hadn't expected. He gulped at the glorious sight of...
"Sesshomaru What are you doing here?" he growled out as snapped out of his stupour. Sesshomaru glared at his younger half brother with disgust. He could admit to himself that he did indeed want the hanyou however he didn't want the bastard that he could scent on him; the bastard pup that he had sired; the one he had wanted destroyed and the one that had caused InuYasha to leave something that angered the demon lord. Without answering, Sesshomaru barged passed; he ignored the obscene curses from the hanyou.
"What the hell? How dare you come here uninvited and barge your way in" snarled InuYasha. InuYasha shut the door and marched towards his obnoxious elder brother who spun round and met his younger's gaze.
"I dare" he replied his smooth tone stopping InuYasha in his tracks. InuYasha had always found Sesshomaru's voice one of his most appealing attributes as he didn't even have to try and sound seductive. Sesshomaru's calculating gaze looked him up and down. His long arms snaked around the hanyou and pulled him closer. Lips met as their tongues danced together. A moan escaped InuYasha. He had missed this however he remembered how much this demon had hurt him. He had denied his rightful heir and had wanted him killed. InuYasha refused to blame an innocent life that was not at fault for its conception; a child that InuYasha loved and was the only thing that the demon beside him had ever given him. InuYasha growled and without warning bit down hard. Sesshomaru yelped in pain as the two broke apart. Sesshomaru snarled whilst InuYasha bared his fangs.
"That was for the pain and suffering you've caused me" InuYasha snarled. Sesshomaru smiled dangerously at his soon to be mate as he roughly grabbed InuYasha by the arms allowing his sharp claws to cut through skin and muscle. Blood trickled out as InuYasha winced; he was trying not to yell in pain.
"This is nothing compared to what I could deal you and believe me unless you come with me now I promise you that your life will be a living hell." vowed Sesshomaru however InuYasha refused to give in.
"No not without your acceptence of your own pup. I refuse to comply till you accept him" replied InuYasha. Sesshomaru stared at him. No one had ever refused him and even his brother had refused him however now his brother was determined to deny HIS alpha something that angered Sesshomaru both as a man and youkai and it was all for the sake of a worthless bastard. Sesshomaru growled low and deep in warning.
"You are denying your ALPHA for a worthless, unclaimed BASTARD" Sesshomaru snarled out. InuYasha's ears flattened against his skull as he bared his fangs in defence of his precious pup.
"Don't you DARE call him that. He's worth far more to me than you EVER will be. I would always choose him over you" retorted InuYasha furious at how his son was seen. InuYasha's ears flickered at the sound of Yuki's cries and went to check on him however Sesshomaru slammed him suddenly against the wall. He leaned close to an ear and whispered softly.
"Five years you'll go into heat once more and when that happens....I'll claim you fully make no mistake" warned Sesshomaru before leaving abruptly leaving a worried InuYasha who managed to collect himself before going to check on his son. Once Yuki was fast asleep InuYasha laid down himself and fell into a troubled sleep; Sesshomaru's words floated through his mind.
That's all for now. I hope you like it. Sesshomaru is still an asshole but there is hope for him. Next chapter will be forwarded to Five Years just to let you know.
