CHAPTER 51: RECENT TURN OF EVENTS

In the early twilight hours before morning, Sesshomaru awoke with a soundly sleeping Kagome entangled in his limbs. Her head rested on the side of his chest with one of his powerful arms wrapped around her waist in a possessive manner. He hated to leave her side, but something more pressing came to mind then lying in Kagome’s arms right at the moment.
Sesshoumaru would call Inuyasha to talk about his plan to obliterate Naraku from the face of the planet. He wanted to annihilate all that symbolized and stood for that bastard. This plan entailed much, and he needed Inuyasha’s help, but this Sesshoumaru never asks for help. He demanded compliance.
Sesshoumaru had to see if he could raise the three billion dollars for the buy out of Naraku’s stock. And in that moment when Tokyo Stock Market reopen, in less than two days, Sesshomaru planned to offer six billion dollars to seize over half of that bastard’s company stock, which would give Inuyasha and him totally control. At that, it would mean the down fall of Naraku’s reign, and the destruction as the second most powerful business man in Tokyo. ‘I will reduce you and your company to rubble. Only your employees will remember you. Not even the sands of history will remember that you walked this earth, if you are that lucky,’ Sesshomaru thought viciously as he left the bed.
He stood up and glanced out the window. Sesshomaru’s naked form reflected off the French windows panes along with Kagome’s reflection. He sighed as he could see Kagome’s mirror image off it. His hazel eyes glowed bright as he looked at her. ‘Mine.’ Sesshoumaru left the bedroom after that single one word was conceived in his thoughts.

Inuyasha kissed Kikyou good bye and watched her leave the office. ‘Okay, now all I have to do is wait for that call from that ass of a half brother. Damnit! Its been two day since Kagome married him, and she didn’t come to work, but than again I wouldn’t blame her with the way I reacted.’ Inuyasha shock his head at the memory. ‘On top of that, the last conversation I had with Sesshomaru, he had eluded to hiring another secretary. Wonder if Kags doesn’t want to be near me? Is she that mad? Duh, baka!! You told her she betrayed you!’ Inuyasha made a fist and clenched it before he picked up the phone and stared hard at the phone for the longest time. He couldn’t stop his thoughts from wondering in a thousand different directions.
‘Sesshomaru wanted me to pool together 3 billion dollar in less than one business day. What the hell is he up to? Damn it, this better be good!’ Inuyasha’s hand tightened the handle of the phone receiver making it snap.
“Shit!” He looked at what he had done. Inuyasha released the death grip he had on the phone, and eyed the damage he caused. The plastic handle had multiple cracks making a webbed pattern in the black shell casing. Inuyasha laid the phone back on the receiver and waited patiently.
Once again, he spaced off. Inuyasha remembered the wedding. The vision of Kagome walking down the isle to come to a stop right in front of his brother traumatized him. Sango and Miroku were there, standing beside Kagome, as friends ought to, but so should he, but… ‘Well, maybe I should see if Kikyou wants to get married. We could go to Vegas. It would be fast and easy. No hassles. There is nothing holding me back… I made my choice damnit! Why can’t I get Kags face out of my head? It was like she was pleading with me that night. It was as if she was trying to tell me something.’ His heart spoke the words his brain refused to acknowledge for the past few days.
‘Inuyasha! I’m doing this for you…’ He could envision Kags soft stormy eyes burning his soul. ‘Trust me…’ They seem to ask him.
‘What the hell did you get yourself into Kags?’ He screamed. ‘What bargain with the devil did you make?’ Inuyasha closed his eyes trying to fight the emotional charged turmoil inside. ‘You made your decision Kags. Now you will have to live with it. Like I am.’ He looked blankly at the cracked mesh of the phone case. Inuyasha’s mind was to emotional far gone with pain and hurt, but what puzzled him was why he didn’t care? He didn’t care what was to come. Only that it would.

The dark dim office made it hard for Kikyou to see him, but she could smell the overwhelm odor of hard liquor filtering throughout the entire office space. She could hear the sound of a chair scraping against tile as it moved back. “Wench! Come here!” Naraku slurred his words.
“You disgusting pig! You’re drunk!!! Is this why you paged me to come over here?”
Naraku stood up from the chair sluggishly. He walked over to the woman standing a few feet away fuming at him in the door way. “You and I have much to discuss.” Naraku stumbled over his words, but his movement was so fast it startled Kikyou, as she saw his arm shoot out with quick speed grabbing her upper arm in painful bruising grip. He yanked her farther into the muted office.
“Let me go now, Naraku!” She hissed in pain.
His crimson eyes flash his annoyance, but then he had sadistic thoughts of her. “No, my dear Kikyou.” He stopped dragging her when he came back to his desk. Naraku squeezed Kikyou’s arm hard once more in a silent warning to listen. He pulled out his office chair and pushed her violently into it. She landed with a hard *thudded!* Naraku’s then lean over her, trapping her in the chair be plant both of his arm on either side of the arm rest. “Considering the recent turn in events with Sesshomaru, we will need to push up your wedding date with Inuyasha…”
Kikyou held her breath as Naraku’s breath smacked her in the face as he drew closer.
