After breakfast everyone got dressed and got ready to go to the factory. There was much to see and do. Sesshoumaru made both Inuyasha’s dress up for this visit as the factory was not a t shirt and jeans place as far as he was concerned. It was a place where experimental weaponry and vehicles were created, improved, and evaluated for eventual mass production.
Kagome was sent to her Mom’s house again to visit with Souta, her Mom, and her Grandpa while she could. They only had one more day before they were to head back to feudal japan and they needed to make this time count. Kagome wouldn’t be alive when the weapons were created and this future existed for Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru. Besides future Sesshoumaru could only bring direct family here and although Kagome was family she was not blood related.
When they got to the factory both future Inuyasha and future Sesshoumaru showed the guards their badges to get in. They also got visitors passes giving past Sesshoumaru and past Inuyasha the pass as well as a name tag. The guards figured Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha’s past selves were their sons as they entered the facility.
When they got inside Sesshoumaru showed them the wonders of modern warfare and the technology that they would create in the future. There were helicopters, tanks, stealth aircraft, and things that seemed unreal to the two men from the past. Inuyasha had seen helicopters and planes, but nothing like this.
Future Sesshoumaru explained that these were top of the line and were here to be experimented on in order to make them faster, better, and more versatile. Sesshoumaru explained that these were just the land and air vehicles. He planned on taking them to see the submarines, battle ships, and aircraft carriers.
“We help make these?”
Past Inuyasha asked and future Sesshoumaru smiled.
“You help design these and come up with ideas for them. We mainly manufacture the guns and weapons on these machines of war. However it all started with one gun. The one I am sending you with. Your drawings will create these weapons of war and the humans will buy them up by the thousands. This is actually a small factory. We have much bigger factories around the globe. Americans created the stealth bomber from our technology. You will be creating much more as the years pass.’
“Remember all you have been taught and this is what will become a reality. Now I am going to show you the first tank gun you will create. It is the actual gun that helped win the war against this small but powerful country. We keep it as a reminder that even though japan is small our minds are big and our futures are bright.’
“Because of the nuclear bombs falling on our country which you will be building and writing the plans to there are still places that the radiation is a problem. Nuclear power is deadly and cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of humans. Demons and hanyous left Japan for a time because of the world wars. You will find that Americans can be quite generous, but also have the strength to destroy whole areas of land. It was actually hard for me to leave America as it is the land of opportunity. I have homes there also as I travel often. However no matter how far I go Japan is still my home country. It is my Motherland and I love her.”
Future Sesshoumaru said as he showed past Inuyasha the tank gun and allowed him to touch it. Past Sesshoumaru also touched it.
“I know this seems overwhelming now, but in time everything will seem natural and you will find yourselves at ease with these surroundings. Now I am going to take you both to see a thing of wonder. It is a boat that travels under the water called a nuclear submarine.”
Future Sesshoumaru said as they left the factory traveling to the government military docks where submarines, battleships, and aircraft carriers resided. Future Sesshoumaru had his ID and so did future Inuyasha. He explained to the person in charge that he was taking his children to see the submarines and ships. They let him pass although they did send an escort with him.
Past Sesshoumaru and past Inuyasha looked in wonder at the huge ships and these boats called submarines. It was hard to imagine that these were real. This was going to take the majority of the day as future Sesshoumaru first took them on a guided tour of a real nuclear sub. There were some places they were not allowed to see, but for the most part what future Sesshoumaru was showing them was the guns and weaponry. It was amazing to their past selves that people lived in these huge boats and that they actually went under the water.
Then he took them to see the battle ships, where there were also rules and regulations on where they were allowed to go. Still this was so cool to past Inuyasha and past Sesshoumaru. By early evening they got to see the aircraft carriers which took most of the evening as they headed back to the estates.
Really this all was almost too much for past Sesshoumaru who although had touched these things and seen them it all seemed so surreal. When they got back to the estates past Sesshoumaru had so many questions, but fact was this was all over his head. Future Sesshoumaru held his past self’s hand and hoped he liked everything he saw.
“There is so much to know. How do I do it? It all seems impossible to believe.”
Past Sesshoumaru said and future Sesshoumaru smiled.
“That is why I sent you with books and everything you need to know for when your time comes and you will learn from them. Much of what is done my mate draws and creates with his mind. Inuyasha is truly brilliant and with his help you will learn much.’
“I am giving you the names of people you will meet and who will help you as you grow and learn. You must however make sacrifices and that means leaving Japan when the time comes. You must leave on the date I wrote you. If you do not then I cannot predict what your future outcome will be. If you want all these things you must follow my lead.”
Future Sesshoumaru said since traveling was one of the most important things that must be done. They had allies in China who had allies elsewhere during the feudal era. Past Sesshoumaru needed to meet people and make lots of allies and friends through the demon connections.
When they got to the estates Koga was there waiting for them to return. He had the note with the number Ayame left him and with the police officer’s help was able to get at least his armor and clothing although she destroyed some of it. Also some of the pictures with him and his cubs were torn as if she was trying to rip him out of the photographs. Koga told Ayame to keep everything else as he would replace it all, but he forced her to sign the divorce papers as Ayame sobbed begging him to take her back. Koga simply told her he did not love her and he was not going to stay in a loveless mating and marriage. He tried, but he just could not keep lying to himself about his feelings for her.
Koga currently was having his mansion cleaned to remove Ayame’s scent so he hoped Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha would not mind his staying with them for a little while. He needed to get new furniture and things for the mansion since it had been stripped clean of everything.
Shippo was here waiting to see everyone and Kagome called stating she was going to stay at her Mom’s house overnight since she wanted to see her Grandpa one last time in the morning. Kagome talked to Shippo who was planning to camp out at Sesshoumaru’s place for the night to meet up with her in the morning.
When the group arrived at the estates future Sesshoumaru figured he would order takeout for dinner as it was too late for the chef to come make their dinner. Telling future Inuyasha that he was calling the usual Cantonese place for dinner to be delivered Inuyasha figured he was fine with that as future Sesshoumaru ordered a bit more than usual since they all had skipped lunch and he figured everyone was probably hungry.
Going into the mansion future Sesshoumaru was still on the phone with the restaurant so he mainly did a quick nod to Koga and Shippo to let them know he acknowledged they were here. Shippo got up and hugged past Inuyasha happy to see him letting him know who he was since he had grown up so much. Past Inuyasha could not believe how big Shippo was and how much the kit had grown. The boy was not super tall, but he was much taller than before with very long red hair that he still kept up in a topknot. Koga had been talking to the redhead getting to know the kid all over again since it had been quite some time since he had seen him.
Shippo told everyone he had been working at a local hospital as a family practice physician and although he enjoyed it he needed a second job so he could get the home he had been dreaming about. Since Sesshoumaru had an opening for a secretary and Shippo worked nights he figured he could take the day job as Sesshoumaru’s secretary.
Past Inuyasha asked where Kagome was and Koga told him she called the house saying she was going to stay at her Mom’s house tonight. She wanted to be up early to visit with her Grandpa and Souta had the Inuyasha series at home so she was going to watch it from her Mom’s house from where they left off at.
At this news past Inuyasha was a bit bummed and he wanted his wife here with him since he slept better with her in the bed. Past Sesshoumaru held his mate’s hand knowing this was hard for him so he would sleep with him tonight. Past Sesshoumaru knew his future self wanted more time with him, but mates came first and past Sesshoumaru had indeed missed being in his mate’s arms even though last night was wonderful.
As soon as future Sesshoumaru got off the phone with the restaurant, Koga asked him about letting him stay with them for a few days. He told future Sesshoumaru he was having his place cleaned and he also was getting new furniture since Ayame had even taken the beds out of the mansion. Really it was completely empty now and he had packed most of his clothing which really wasn’t much since Ayame did a number to most of his nice suits. She was lucky that she did not harm his armor and furs or he would have been even more pissed off at her.
“You may stay with us Koga as long as you need to. No one is using that guest room so you are welcome to it. Just do not be shocked that I do not change my morning habits for you or anyone else for that matter.”
Future Sesshoumaru said as he sat at the table with his mate.
“Thanks. I appreciate that. I hope to have all of her scent out of my home by the end of this week. I also have to buy new suits. I have two suits she did not destroy so I will be ok to work. What bugged me the most is her tearing up the photos of me with the kids. I don’t’ know what she was thinking when she did that and I am sure I don’t want to know. I luckily can tape the few I have.”
Koga said and everyone felt a bit bad for Koga. They also felt a bit sorry for Ayame since they had hoped things would work out for the two of them since they had kids together.
Future Inuyasha changed the subject as he asked Shippo if he had a girlfriend yet or not. Shippo had been single for a long time and although he dated on occasion he was not too serious with anyone especially after Kagome died since although he liked human women he knew he would outlive them.
“I tried dating a few girls, but I just haven’t felt that spark ya know. I figure if it hasn’t happened in all this time it may never happen.”
Shippo said as he had tried to find someone to fall in love with.
“What about Souten? She as far as I know is still single and she is around your age.”
Future Sesshoumaru said and Shippo blanched at that.
“She still hasn’t gotten over me and I don’t think it is wise to date the enemy of the fox demons. No I am not going to get myself shot by my friends for dating the thunder brother’s sister. She came to my work once with a painting of me which I appreciated, but I am not interested in her. For now we have a truce, but if I dated her and it did not work out I don’t want another war.”
Shippo said and future Inuyasha understood as did everyone else at the table.
“Well since we are getting take out I am going to change into something more comfortable.”
Future Inuyasha said as he got up and went to the bedroom to put on his pajama pants and take off this blasted tie and suit.
“I guess we all can dress down. I only have to sign for the take out.”
Future Sesshoumaru said as he urged his past self to follow him to the bedroom to dress him into pajamas as well.
“Shippo you can come to my room and change. There is no point in us both having separate rooms. You are only going to be here for a day or two.”
Koga said and Shippo nodded as he got his duffle bag with his clothes in it and carried it to Koga’s room where he and Koga changed into pajama bottoms and nothing else since it was just guys in the house.
