Pearl and Inuyasha soon became hungry and reluctantly headed back to the castle. Inuyasha thought about hunting, but he didn’t know this forest well enough yet and did not want to get lost.

Once again Inuyasha had Pearl climb onto his back as he practically flew from tree to tree towards the castle. For Benjirou it was amazing watching the boy practically fly across the forest as he floated on his mokomokos behind them far enough that they couldn’t see him, smell him, or hear him.

When the two of them got back they were immediately confronted by Elder Eiko who grasped both of them by their ears and pulled them through the halls to a room with two stockades in it. There both Pearl and Inuyasha were taken by guards and placed in the stockades although the two of them struggled.

“What’s the deal you bitch?”

Inuyasha growled to Eiko.

“You are both in serious trouble. You will not leave this room until after your punishments are completed. Then you will both be given lunch and after such will go straight to the history lesson you were assigned to go to today.”

Eiko stated angrily.

Benjirou came into the room and looked at what was going on. It was ridiculous. Eiko was preparing to have the hanyous spanked for their behavior today.

“Eiko, what are you doing to these children?”

Benjirou asked watching the two young hanyous struggle.

“Hey I ain’t a child you asshole!”

Inuyasha growled.

“Me neither!”

Pearl snarled as she tried to break free.

“You both will behave yourselves! You both know better than to talk back to your elders!”

Eiko roared.

“You don’t know who you’re messin’ with Lady! You better let us go or else!”

Inuyasha snarled.

Eiko chuckled at that.

“Or else what puppy? What can you do now?”

Eiko said as she watched Inuyasha struggle to get free.

“Or else when I get free from this thing I will shove tessaiga so far up your ass you won’t be able to ever sit again!”

Inuyasha growled.

“Proceed guards.”

Eiko said as the guards moved behind the two hanyous and proceeded to spank them both.

“Are you kidding me?”

Inuyasha said rolling his eyes.

“Hit him harder!”

Eiko demanded the guard.

Pearl was so angry she didn’t feel the spanking either.

“I swear I am gonna get you for this Lady!”

Pearl growled.

“God it doesn’t even hurt so how is this supposed to stop me from leaving again?”

Inuyasha said in annoyance.

“Harder!”

Eiko demanded.

The guard did it harder and soon the board broke with Inuyasha just looking annoyed trying not to crack up.

Benjirou was laughing. He found this to be hilarious. Eiko finally lost control of a situation and she couldn’t do a damn thing about it.

“Fine, you want to be stubborn about this. Bring the shackles.”

Eiko ordered as she had both hanyous in shackles.

“You both shall be whipped for your impertinence and for running away without telling anyone where you were going.”

Eiko growled out.

“Hey you ain’t whipping Pearl!”

Inuyasha growled as he went to attack the woman who looked shocked until Benjirou pulled Inuyasha away from Eiko.

“Even if she is a mean bitch you cannot attack an Elder little one.”

Benjirou stated as he held the hanyou back from maiming Eiko.

“You would attack a female?”

Eiko said in surprise.

“If that fucking female was attacking my mate and friends then hell ya!”

Inuyasha said trying to fight to get out of Benjirou’s grip.

“You are not whipping them Eiko. Enough is enough. I already know Akio and Daisuke agree with me since I spoke to them. You will leave the hanyous be. They will however go to their lessons and behave themselves during them.”

Benjirou stated looking at Pearl and Inuyasha as though he meant business.

“Keh……whatever.”

Inuyasha grumbled and Pearl looked at the large diayouki with a pout. She did not want to put up with those stupid Matrons all day long or the evil Ladies.

“Take their shackles off.”

Benjirou ordered as the shackles were removed and Inuyasha moved over to Pearl giving her a look that meant they were gonna get the hell out of this place somehow and take Sesshoumaru with them.

“I will help pull favors.”

Inuyasha whispered to Pearl as Benjirou pushed the two hanyous forward and walked them to their class.

Pearl simply nodded.

When they got to the class they were surprised to see a mousy sort of creature scurrying about gathering books and organizing a large library. The biggest library either hanyou had ever seen.

“Oh where did I put that marker?”

The mousy creature stated and Benjirou sighed. The Sensei wasn’t here. His assistant was, but the Sensei was missing.

“Gorou, where is Lord Fuyuki?”

Benjirou asked the mousy creature.

When the creature turned around, it was the strangest looking thing Pearl and Inuyasha had ever seen. It looked like a rat lizard. It had the scales of a lizard, but the face of a rat.

“Oh, dear me, you startled me my Lord. Lord Fuyuki stepped out for a bit of lunch. He will be right back though.”

Gorou said as he smacked his lips a bit.

“Very well. You both will wait here for Lord Fuyuki. When he returns I want you to immediately begin your lesson and then I will come to get you for lunch. If you run off again I will have you both sedated and there will be no food for the rest of the day.”

Benjirou stated to the two and Inuyasha went to protest only for Benjirou to throw a dart at him so fast that Inuyasha didn’t see it until it hit next to his head by the wall.

“That is a poison dart my boy and I purposely missed. I can and will sedate you if you do not do as you are told. Now behave yourselves.”

Benjirou warned as he strode away and both Pearl and Inuyasha frowned.

“Gods this is stupid. It is like we are the prisoners here, not just Sesshoumaru.”

Inuyasha said testily.

“No kidding.”

Pearl said as she looked around at the massive library.

“Well might as well make the best of things while we wait.”

Pearl said as she looked at all the books trying to find one that was interesting.

Grabbing one from the shelf she was pleased to find a book of fairy tales only for it to be swiped quickly from her hand and put back in its place.

“You must request and catalog the books you wish to borrow. Yes you do, yes you do.”

Gorou stated as he pulled out a log.

“Write down the book you wish to borrow here and then I shall give you your card to catalog it.”

Gorou stated smacking his lips.

“What the hell are you?”

Inuyasha asked as Pearl wrote down the book title she was looking at.

“I am complicated.”

Gorou stated with a smile as he closed the log book and handed Pearl a card with numbers on it.

“I don’t understand what you mean by catalog it.”

Pearl said looking at the numbers on the card.

“The numbers represent how many times this book has been borrowed. You will write down the next number and place it in here. Yes, place it here you will.”

Gorou said as he opened a thing that looked like a folder with various cards in it. Pearl wrote the number down and handed the card to Gorou who put it in the folder and then got the book for her.

“Now be nice to that book. It is very old.”

Gorou warned as he went about finishing cataloging and putting books away while smacking his lips every once in a while.

Inuyasha sat with Pearl reading the book of fairy tales when a large finely dressed dragon demon came forward. He had long blood red hair and bright green snake like eyes. His skin was a light green color and for a man with small scales everywhere he was quite handsome.

Pearl was fascinated by this very tall being who swept in with an air of regality. Inuyasha just looked at the guy and growled standing in front of Pearl.

“Oh little one, I am not going to take your mate.”

Lord Fuyuki stated with a smile showing long dagger like fangs that were like a snakes. His tongue came out for a moment like a snake and it was thin and forked. Pearl had never seen anything like this before.

“You are unmated asshole. I can smell it and I smell your arousal.”

Inuyasha said with a growl. Pearl could smell something, but hadn’t been sure what it was. It smelled nice and sweet.

“I just fed my dear boy and dragons are always aroused when they have fed. However if I must set your mind at ease know my interest would be in you dear puppy not the girl.”

Lord Fuyuki stated and Inuyasha’s eyes about popped out of his head. How many fucking gay assholes were there around him?

“Well I am a mated man and I ain’t interested.”

Inuyasha said half hiding behind Pearl.

“I do not dally with children. You are much too young for me even if I did have an interest.”

Lord Fuyuki stated as he bid the two hanyous to sit.

“I ain’t a kid, but I ain’t interested either.”

Inuyasha said and Fuyuki simply chuckled. The pup was adorable. Had he been centuries younger he definitely would show this boy a thing or two.

“Have either of you eaten?”

Lord Fuyuki asked politely.

“No.”

Both Pearl and Inuyasha said while Pearl looked at the book of fairy tales getting caught up in the beautiful pictures.

“Then I will have your lunch brought here. We have much to do and I wish for your full attention.”

Fuyuki stated closing Pearl’s book with a clawed hand and moving it far away from her.

Pulling a cord he summed for the servants to come so they could bring the two hanyous their meals. He had a full day’s worth of information to share with these two young minds and he was terribly excited to finally have some students who did not know very much about demon history.

“Tell me what you know about demons.”

Lord Fuyuki asked both of them.

Inuyasha knew much more then Pearl, but as Fuyuki took stalk on how much the boy knew he also knew he had his work cut out for him. These two were still fairly green when it came to demon knowledge.

“The laws are good and all, but you certainly don’t know much about your heritage or your particular breed. You both are Inu hanyous and what we like to call silver Inus, but you do not know what powers you possess except by trial and error. You don’t know why your blood can be used as a weapon, yet you wield it naturally. You have golden power come from your claws, but you don’t know what it is exactly.”

Lord Fuyuki stated.

“It is my youkai, my demon power.”

Inuyasha simply said.

“Oh my boy it is not a natural demon power though. It came from centuries of breeding and experimentation. There is a whole history behind your powers and these few powers you have are just the tip of the iceberg so to speak.’
“You know your brother Sesshoumaru can create multiple weapons with his breath, his drool, his claws that spew out acidic poison, but you do not know why he is able to do these things. You just know that he can. You have seen him perform Dragon Strike without a sword, but you don’t know how he is able to do such a thing.’
“You my dear puppies do not know how to extend your demonic power outside of your claws or a weapon, nor do you know how to control your demonic powers when enraged or near death.”

Lord Fuyuki continued on. This of course caught the attention of both hanyous whose ears were perked up listening to this man who seemed to know so much about them.

“After you have your lunch we will go outside my dear sweet pups and I will show you some wondrous things.”

Fuyuki said with a smile.

“But for now since we are indoors we shall have you both start by taking notes. You do both know how to write do you not?”

Fuyuki asked.

“I do, but Inuyasha is still learning. I can take notes for the both of us.”

Pearl said.

“Oh no, this will not do. You see you both have different abilities. Some are strictly male and some are female only. I was going to have you both do research separately.”

Fuyuki said in frustration.

“That’s ok; I am more a physical learner anyway.”

Inuyasha said as his ears drooped down. If Sesshoumaru had just let him grow up in the castle like he should have Inuyasha would know how to write. He was also still learning to read and some of the words were still hard for him, but he was trying. Right now Inuyasha felt like an idiot since this guy was obviously well educated.

“That is fine; I will just adjust my lesson plan. I am going to give you a list of books young Lady and reference numbers. You will search the pages I list, write a summary of what you read, and bring it back to me so I can insure you got the right information and understand it correctly.”

Fuyuki stated.

“How is your reading skills puppy?”

Fuyuki asked and Inuyasha hung his head giving Fuyuki the answer he needed.

Placing a hand on the boy’s shoulder Fuyuki smiled.

“It is ok little one. I have worked with others who did not know how to read or write. We will just have to extend your lesson a bit longer and I will add a writing course to your studies. I just happen to know the most excellent Sensei for teaching you how to write properly as well as read those pesky words that may not make sense to you.”

Fuyuki said.

Inuyasha’s ears perked up a bit.

“Someone would teach me how to write better and to read even the hard words?”

Inuyasha asked.

“Yes.”

Fuyuki said as he gave Pearl the list and some scrolls with a quill and some ink.

“Lady Pearl you will see Gorou immediately for what you need. He should already have pulled all the books I have required for you. Do realize that three months is not nearly enough time to teach you everything, but I will teach you as much as I can. This class will take most of the day so tomorrow I expect you both to be on time.”

Fuyuki said and Pearl nodded going with the list as well as the other things to see Gorou.

“Now Lord Inuyasha I am going to give you a similar list. What we are going to do is read together and I shall write down what I think is valuable to you now. Then while Pearl is still studying, you shall go to see my younger brother who will teach you to write and read. His name is Lord Yoshi. He is very patient, but quite strict. I highly suggest you pay attention since he despises repeating himself too often however his job here is to write letters and such for the Elders. He knows more about communication in writing then any man I know. He will teach you not only words, but their meanings. By the time your three months are done you will be writing things you could never imagine writing before.”

Fuyuki stated.

Inuyasha smiled. He would really like to write well and to read like his brother and Pearl did. It was frustrating not knowing what stuff meant. He would also have to ask Pearl to reread Sesshoumaru’s letter to him since he only got part of that figured out. He just felt embarrassed asking for help with things.

Pearl walked past the two men balancing three large books along with her other supplies to one of the tables where she could get the most light since a torch was directly over it.

As she began her research, the servants arrived. Lord Fuyuki ordered them to bring the hanyou’s lunch to them and to be quick about it than simply dismissed them.

Inuyasha went with Fuyuki to where Gorou was gathering books and gave Gorou his list for the day. Inuyasha ended up carrying five heavy tomes as though they weighed nothing while Fuyuki carried three. They sat on the far side of the room so not to disturb Pearl as Fuyuki read out loud to Inuyasha while taking notes.

After a time the servants came back with heaping plates of food for the hanyous which also consisted of some raw fish in a type of sushi and marinated cooked meats. There were also breads and rice balls along with an assortment of fresh fruit.

Inuyasha and Pearl looked at their plates of food plus the huge flagon of some kind of wine wondering if they could eat all of this since they didn’t want the food to go to waste. It was a lot of food.

Pearl ate her rice ball while reading the book only for Lord Fuyuki to come over and pull the book away.

“I want you to concentrate on eating right now child. I personally asked for food that caters to your breed and to hanyous. You also both need to gain weight and I want you to focus on eating as much as your bodies can handle.”

Fuyuki said.

Pearl took her tray of food and moved over by Inuyasha who smiled at her and put a hand on her leg rubbing it.

As the two hanyous ate their food Lord Fuyuki left to go talk to his brother about Inuyasha.
