Chapter 6: Let Me Die

A/N: Kagome wishes that she were dead instead of serving as Inuyasha�s whore. She tries to end her life by leaping off his terrace. Will her torture end?
The night had passed without Inuyasha waking up and desiring her. But she spent many a night lying in bed next to him feeling his length still buried inside her just waiting for it to twitch signaling his renewed desire for her. Kagome had been kept at Inutaisho�s palace for nearly six months now. She had been raped more times than she cared to count. If not for the Shikon No Tama protecting her she would have conceived Inuyasha�s child long ago. Unknown to Inuyasha the Shikon No Tama would not allow Kagome to become pregnant unless she was happy and in love. She thanked Kami for this little protection. But as of late even the fact that she would be unable to become pregnant was not enough to get her through the hell that had become her life.
It was on the night when there was no moon in the sky that Kagome decided she would end her suffering. She was dressed in a thin ivory sleeping kimono that you could nearly see through. It came to rest at her ankles and her raven hair was left loosely flowing free down to her waist. Kagome crept out onto the terrace of Inuyasha�s chambers. She carefully climbed up onto the ledge of the terrace overlooking the East garden. Kagome looked up to the dark black sky solemnly. Her voice was dull and just above a whisper when she spoke. �Forgive me Kami, but I can no longer endure my hellish existence with Inuyasha. So I must end my suffering by taking my own life.� Having said her peace Kagome then leapt from the terrace without hesitation.
The cool crisp wind surrounded her nipping at her exposed flesh as she plummeted towards the ground. Just before she hit the ground strong arms wrapped around her securely. Kagome�s blue gray snapped open when she didn�t hit the ground. She stared up into the amber eyes of Inuyasha. Kagome began sobbing like a child in the hanyou�s arms. She pounded against his chest angrily with her small clenched fists. Once they were back in his chambers he released her. She fell to the floor in a sobbing heap. �Why? Why Inuyasha?�
�Why what?�
�Why did you save me?�
�Why were you trying to kill yourself?�
�I�m miserable! You force yourself on me everyday! I can�t take it any longer! Please just let me die Inuyasha!� He grabbed her arms and hauled her to her feet.
�I won�t let you die, Kagome.�
�Why must you punish me?�
�I�m not punishing you. Look will you stop trying to kill yourself if I stop forcing myself on you?�
�Y-you would do that for me?�
�Yes Kagome, I would. How does that sound?�
�Okay.�
�But will you just do one thing for me?�
�What?�
Share my chambers with me because I have grown used to having you next to me in bed at night.� She stared at him uncertain of his request. �I will not touch you unless you want me to Kagome.�
�Alright, I shall stay with you. Thank you Inuyasha.� He nodded as they crept back into bed. Months had passed and Inuyasha stayed true to his word. He did not touch Kagome against her will. The weather was getting warm again and summer time was just around the corner. It was the middle of May and all the flowers were in bloom in the East garden. Kagome and Inuaysha sat on a blanket and were eating lunch together that beautiful early summer day.
�Kagome, you should be having a birthday soon correct?�
�Oh yes, it�s tomorrow actually.� He grinned.
�Well then we shall celebrate. How old will you be?�
�Eighteen. we don�t have to celebrate my birthday Inuyasha, it�s no big deal.� He took her hand tenderly in his and it made her pulse quicken.
�Kagome it is a big deal. It�s your birthday, I want to make you smile.� Her cheeks turned bright pink as he gave her hand a gentle squeeze. As of late she had been thinking about the hanyou in a strange way. Almost as if she desired his touch now. The other night when his hand had accidentally brushed her breast it had sent wonderful chills throughout her body. She had even let a small moan fall from her lips. Kagome had actually found herself almost wishing Inuyasha would break his promise to her and ravish her. �So I�m going to get you something special for your birthday okay?�
�Okay.� The remainder of the day Kagome had spent in the royal study skimming through the family�s collection of books while Inuyasha had went off in search of whatever he was giving her for her birthday. She glanced up at a large portrait of a beautiful raven haired woman. Kagome couldn�t help but notice the striking resemblance she had to the woman in the painting. The thunderous voice of Lord Inutaisho startled her.
�You are almost the mirror image of my Mariko.�
�Who is she?�
�Mariko was my mate and Inuyasha�s mother.�
�Where is she now?�
�In heaven. Mariko was killed by one of my enemies a long time ago.�
�Why?�
�Because she was human.� Kagome�s blue gray eyes flickered with sadness over Lord Inutaisho�s loss.
�I�m so sorry. You must have loved her a great deal.�
�Yes Mariko was everything to me. You resemble her so much it�s unreal at times. But that was then and this is now. I see that you and my youngest son seem to have gotten closer?� Kagome�s cheeks burned with her blush.
�Oh yes.�
�Tell me Kagome, what has brought this sudden turn of events?�
�Inuyasha has been very kind to me and has promised he will not lay another unwanted hand on me.�
�Inuyasha will keep his promise for as long as you desire Kagome, he will not go back on his word.�
�I know, I trust Inuyasha.�
�Do you love my son Kagome?�
�I uh I don�t know.�
�Because I believe that he has grown to love you deeply. I can see it in the way he looks at you.�
�Inuyasha is just my friend Lord Inutaisho. He doesn�t care for me like that.�
�Do not fool yourself Kagome, you mean everything to Inuyasha. You are his world as he is yours.� With that said Inutaisho left Kagome to ponder his words alone in the study. Was Inutaisho telling her the truth? Was Inuyasha ive wve with her? Was she in love with him?
