She
was running through the forest frightened.
She looked behind her, but there was nothing chasing her however, she
knew that if she stopped she would be killed.
Suddenly as if from no where there was a creature standing before her,
sporting his malice and hate he gripped her throat.
“Priesstessss”
It hissed in her face as it lowered her to the ground. She was starting to black out when she saw a
figure in red attack the horrible creature, sending it to hell where it belonged. Kagome felt the chill of the night air deep
in her bones. She was so cold, but
couldn't find warmth no matter what she tried.
She tried to sink deep into the bark of the old god tree as the figure
of crimson haze came nearer her frame.
She tried to struggle as the shadow embraced her. Suddenly, she felt warmth spread throughout
her body; snuggling closer. The shadow,
whom she now knew to be a man, hugged her close; as if afraid to let her
go. There was love in his embrace, but
sadness in his stance. This made her
tears fall as she buried her head in his chest.
In almost a distant whisper he spoke.
“Shhh
Kagome I'm here… right by your side… please wake up Anata. I need you to wake up and be here with me”
She didn’t understand what he meant by wake up, but she was comforted by his
words. At last she started to drift to
sleep. “AiShiteru… I'm here... Just rest
Kagome.” He whispered…
~*~
Kagome opened her eyes slowly and
cautiously trying not to stir; although the pain was subsiding, she wouldn’t
move until it had completely stopped.
Unexpectedly, Kagome heard a soft growl and turned her head to see
Inuyasha was resting beside her. He had
his arm resting around her gently, and she couldn't help the urge to move
closer to him; in spite of her pain. As
she struggled to shift her weight, there was a twinge of pain that seemed to
shoot from her abdomen and up her spine.
In vain, she tried to stifle a moan awaking the sleeping hanyou.
“Kag… Kagome what are you
doing?” His worried and sleepy voice
filled their silence. Inuyasha began to
stroke her hair as she sobbed into his shoulder. “I thought I told you not to move baka…” Normally she would have been pissed that he
had called her stupid, but the love and agony that filled his tone instead made
her ache to snuggle nearer.
“Inuyasha… whah… what
happened?” He shushed her with his lips
and pulled away.
“We’ll talk about it when you get
better… I need some time to think.” He
continued to stroke her hair until he heard her sigh; then her body go limp
with peaceful sleep. He knew she would
need it. He didn't know how badly this
was going to turn out to be for her; she needed her energy, even if only to sit
his ass for being such a bastard. I should have been more careful, I never
should have left her sitting in the village alone… although, I didn't think
anything of it… still it’s my fault.
Deep down he knew that he had done everything he could have done to
protect her, but for now placing the blame on himself, seemed to make the pain
of losing something you didn't know you wanted so soon, fade even if it was for
only just a moment. When he was certain
that she was deep in her slumber, Inuyasha carefully peeled himself from her
side and walked out into the harsh days light.
It seemed as though everyone was on edge when Inuyasha came up to their
small little gathering, but after a few moments Sango broke the tension.
“Inuyasha, umm… are you
hungry? There’s some fresh food cooking
in the fire…” She was stopped by a wave
of his hand. He could tell that Kaede
hadn’t said anything to them yet, so he took the opportunity.
“Sango, Miroku… I gotta talk to you
guys about Kagome.” He was uneasy and
kept his hands inside the arms of his Haori.
Shippou took one look at
Inuyasha and followed Kirara back to Kaede, knowing that this was something
that the young kitsune did not need to be present for. He would find out in due time what was
happening. When the young fox was out of
sight, Inuyasha sat across from Miroku and Sango and tried to collect his
words. It was hard for him to have to
open up, he just didn't do things that way, but he had no choice and he knew
that the words had to be spoken.
Inuyasha also knew that he would have to be the one to say them.
“What is it Inuyasha? Is this in concern to Lady Kagome’s
condition?” Miroku’s brow was cocked as
he held the Taijiya in his arms.
Inuyasha noticed how mindful he was not to place his hands anywhere near
her backside. He smiled inwardly at the
newfound respect the houshi seemed to have on display.
“Yeah, okay so here’s the thing…
you both know I don’t openly talk about my fears and feelings and such, but
this is kinda serious. Kagome should be
okay, but the baby…” He paused
momentarily, refusing to let them see his tears fall. “The baby didn’t survive.” Sango gasped and burying her head in Miroku's
chest, she began to sob. Inuyasha turned
away as the houshi stroked her hair and tried so desperately to calm the woman
beside him. Miroku noticed Inuyasha’s
disposition and calmly reached one hand to his friends shoulder.
“Are you going to be alright
Inuyasha? This is pretty big…” Inuyasha shrugged, he honestly didn't know if
he would be alright. He hadn’t expected
something like this to happen in the first place, he hadn’t anticipated being
with Kagome… he didn't think she could ever want a dirty hanyou such as
him. He certainly didn't think that she
would get pregnant. Now his head was
spinning, he was losing everything he had… he knew that if Kagome didn't make
it through this, he wouldn’t be able to survive for long without her. Determined not to let the monk know all that,
he just shook his head.
“Yeah, I think so.”
“Does Kagome know? I mean, is she aware of what happened?” Sango was wiping her eyes and looking up to
see Inuyasha’s reaction as Miroku spoke.
“No. She isn’t aware of it… and I don’t know how
I'm going to tell her, all I know is that it has to be me… so not a peep from
any of you to her. Kaede already knows
not to say anything… I have to do this.
It’s my fault she was taken anyways.”
Sango stood and walked over to Inuyasha as he spoke the last of his
words. She slapped him across the face
with a force that made Miroku cringe.
Inuyasha glared at her, seemingly a bit afraid.
“Don’t you EVER say that this is
your fault. Any of it. Inuyasha the only thing you are guilty of is
saving her… protecting her with your love… whether you ever admit it to anyone
else, we all know you love her.”
“I know…” He lowered his head in a state of shame
before he snapped it back up and started to yell at Sango. “What the fuck did you slap me for!” Sango couldn't help but smile inwardly at the
immaturity rolling off of Inuyasha.
“To bring you back to your senses…
it always seems to work… even if it is only a temporary fix… on Miroku. Inuyasha, I know how much this is hurting you
and I know you need to be strong for her but… just don’t forget that you can’t
ignore your own emotions.” Sango walked
back to the fire and picked up two bowls of the soup that she had made for
dinner. “Here, take one to her in case
she awakens… and eat the other. You
don’t look so good, Inuyasha. You don’t
want her to worry.” Inuyasha simply
nodded and took off to the hut where she was sleeping.
~*~
Kagome awoke in silence as the sun
seeped through the flaps to the hut.
Slowly, she sat her frame up against the wall that her makeshift bed had
been positioned against. Letting out a
small moan at the slight ache this caused, she braced herself with her hands
and let her legs dangle over the side. Inuyasha. It was her first thought, she
needed him near. As if almost on cue,
the flaps to the tiny hut were being pushed aside by a male figure in the
door.
“Kagome…? What are you doing? Why are you up, you silly girl you are going
to hurt yourself.” Kagome smiled,
Inuyasha was always the worrywart. He
came to her slowly and placed his arm around her back, sitting beside her. She rested her head against his shoulder and
let out a breath.
“Inuyasha…” she whispered. He perked up and moved a bit to face
her.
“What’s wrong Kagome?” She looked confused at the expression on his
face… the way he had walked into the room set off a spiral of hurt, she could
tell something was wrong.
“I was going to ask you that…”
Kagome looked painfully into his eyes as if she could read his soul. “I trust you enough to know that you won’t
lie to me… please tell me… I know something is wrong, I feel something is
wrong.” Inuyasha looked down, but Kagome
reached her hand to his face; pulling his gaze.
The pain had subsided from the care she had been receiving, leaving
little than a mark upon her abdomen and an ache that felt like she had worked
out too much after being stationary for too long.
“Kagome… there’s… there’s something
that I have to tell you… but… but…” He couldn't control himself. The emotions were all fighting to come to the
surface at once, he tried being strong for her… but at that moment he just
couldn’t. Kagome hugged his head to her
shoulder and rubbed her fingers over his ears.
Finally, Inuyasha’s breathing slowed into a calm pace. She guessed he hadn’t slept in a few hours or
days, she didn't know how long she had been there… nonetheless she let him
sleep. An hour had passed and, as he napped,
Inuyasha’s hand found its way to her stomach and started to softly graze over
her bandage. It was then that Kagome
realized what it was that he was probably so emotional about. Choking back her own tears, she grasped his
hand… pushing it away, and intertwined her fingers with his. He awoke to see her gray eyes looking sadly
into his own amber pools.
“Oh Inuyasha, I'm sorry…” She started to shake as the tears wracked her
body. Inuyasha simply pulled her close
and stroked her hair.
“Oi Baka, what the hell are you
sorry for? You didn't ask for this to
happen… If it’s anyone’s fault it’s mine… I let my guard down when I shouldn’t
have.” Kagome pulled away from him. Her saddened gaze had changed to an angry
glare.
“No. Inuyasha stop blaming yourself, you don’t
have the right to do that. This isn’t
your fault. I was alone, I knew that
there was something there and I continued to do what I was doing instead of
calling for you. If it’s anyone’s fault
it’s mine.” Inuyasha pulled her back to
him, rubbing her back to pull the tension from her body.
“If I can’t blame myself, then you
can’t blame yourself… got it wench?” It was a whisper but she responded by
hugging him tighter.
“Inuyasha, I have to go home… My
mother… I … I need her right now.”
Inuyasha nodded and kissed her forehead.
“Let’s wait a few days until you
are healed a bit more.”
~*~
Miroku strolled along the river
bank quietly trying to silence his thoughts.
Haisurah killed Naraku… but then,
does that mean that this curse has been lifted? He braced his fingers along the brilliant
beads of the binding rosary with a sense of nervous curiosity. Taking a deep breath, Miroku settled his body
in the grass beside the water and sullenly stared at the reflection he took on
in the stream.
“Miroku? What are you doing out here all by
yourself?” He almost jumped at the
softness of her voice. He hadn’t
expected that she or anyone else would follow him. Gently turning his face upward to gaze upon
the Taijiya, he tried to force a smile to his lips.
“Nothing really Sango… Just
thinking about things.” She slipped
down beside him and rested her hand upon his tinkering fingers; stopping his
ministrations to the rosary.
“Miroku, you know… you have to look
eventually… is my brave and royally gutsy houshi afraid?” Her voice had become that of a teasing pitch,
cracking a smile from the depressed monk.
Miroku let out a heavy sigh and brought his arm around her shoulder.
“My dear Sango, I must pay a visit
to Master Moushin… If I am to find out the true outcomes of my Kazaana, it must
be from him.” Her brown eyes met his
violet as she bit her lip.
“How long will that journey take
Miroku?”
“A few days at most… Sango… I … I
don’t want to go alone. Come with
me? Shippou can stay here with Kaede,
Kirara could come with us… it might make the trip shorter. I'm sure Inuyasha and Kagome have a lot to
deal with amongst themselves anyway at the present time…” He looked down at the damn rosary in disgust;
silently waiting for her rejection.
“Oh… Okay Miroku… I’ll go with you.” As if in a state of shock, Miroku tried to
search her face, unsure if she was serious or not.
“You sure Sango?” She looked down into her lap and let a sigh
escape her lips.
“Yes Anata, I will come with
you. After all, if that hand of yours is
still cursed, I wouldn’t want you to get away with asking random women on the
street to bear your children… at least not without a slap from me.” Miroku laughed dryly, knowing the seriousness
in her reasoning’s. He closed his eyes
and tightened his grip around the young Taijiya’s body.
“You are a truly special woman to
me Sango… I love you.”
“I know… now just control that hand
of yours and we might be able to enjoy this moment.” Her snide remark did not go unnoticed, nor
did it go ungranted.

Kagome followed Inuyasha’s advice and awaited
her return to see her mother. A week
passed before she felt almost completely back to normal… there was still
however a void that ached within her due to the loss they both
experienced. Just before dawn, Kagome
awoke to the sound of Inuyasha crashing through the hut’s flap. She tried to conceal a smile as he fussed
over her to see if she was well enough to go home and see her mother, he sat
beside her after he was sure that she was pretty normal and let out a sigh.
“So, do you want me to go with
you? Or… well um…” he was blushing
because he knew that she would have to tell her mother that they had engaged in
an activity that was uncalled for at Kagome’s age in her time. He secretly wondered how Mrs. Higurashi would
react to the entire situation. She
gently took his hand, looking reassuringly into his amber orbs.
“Yeah, I uh… I think that it would
look better if you were to come back with me Inuyasha. This is going to be hard enough you know… I
need you to be there Inuyasha… I honestly don’t know if I can do it alone.” Inuyasha looked away momentarily and nodded
in agreement giving her hand a slight squeeze.
“I’ll go. You… you wanna go now?” Kagome nodded, quietly rising to her
feet. Her fingers still interlaced with
Inuyasha’s, she carefully attempted to lift her knapsack from the ground beside
her; Inuyasha stopped her as her hand touched the strap. “I got it… let’s just go okay?” Nodding she gave her silent thanks as he
pulled her into his arms and took to the well.
Upon leaping in, a bluish pink
light engulfed the couple.
~*~
When Inuyasha and Kagome emerged
from the other side of the well, they were shocked to see Souta sweeping the
grounds.
“Souta!” Kagome shouted jumping from Inuyasha’s arms
with a bit of rouge spreading across her cheeks. “What are you doing sweeping the well house
floor?” Souta let out an agitated sigh.
“Gramps is punishing me for
breathing sis.” Inuyasha stifled a laugh
at the seriousness in his voice, receiving an elbow to his ribs from
Kagome. She walked up to her brother and
hugged him.
“Oh, stop exaggerating… I'm sure
that’s not it Souta!” Souta hugged her
back and then, seemingly for the first time, noticed Inuyasha standing at the
side of the old well.
“Oi, what are you doing back so
soon you guys?” Inuyasha blushed, but
Kagome simply smiled. There was no need
to let her brother in on everything that was going on just yet.
“Um… Souta is mom home? Or is she out for the day?” She had started to wring her hands together
nervously as she spoke. Souta didn’t
seem to notice as he started to sweep up the dusty floor again.
“She’s inside… don’t worry, gramps
is out with one of his ‘buddies’ so if you need to speak with her alone, you
won’t be interrupted.” She kissed her
brother on the forehead and dashed out of the well doors, pulling Inuyasha’s
hand along with her.
“Momma? Are you here?” She called out when she crashed through the
shrine house doors. There was a voice
from the kitchen, muffled through the doors that responded.
“I'm in here Kagome…” Inuyasha started to fidget when she appeared
from the other room. “What are you doing
back so soon Kagome?” She walked up to
her daughter and placed her hand on her shoulder. Inuyasha felt Kagome squeeze his hand before
letting it drop and settling herself beside her mother on the futon. Mrs. Higurashi immediately noticed the pale
look that came to rest upon Kagome’s face.
“Is there something wrong Kagome?
You look ill dear…” Her gaze
lifted from her daughter to the hanyou standing uneasy at the arm of the
couch. Kagome gave him a look and he
found a spot in one of the arm chairs beside them. He was so not ready for this.
“Momma… there’s … there’s something
I need to tell you.” When her mother
nodded and became a bit more comfortable beside her, Kagome cleared her throat
nervously and attempted to continue.
“Momma, in the past month… some things have… well, some things have
happened…”
“What do you mean dear? Are you
alright?” Genuine concern washed over her mother’s face as she grasped her
daughter’s hands.
“Not really mom… I … I…” Inuyasha watched painfully as Kagome doubled
over into her mother’s arms. He knew she
couldn’t speak, so he took it upon himself.
“Um… I uh… I don’t know what to say
Mrs. Higurashi, she’s … she’s upset because… well because she…” Mrs. Higurashi
looked at Inuyasha sadly.
“She what Inuyasha? Please tell me why my daughter is doubled over
in my arms crying like there is no tomorrow…”
He cleared his throat and looked at Kagome who just nodded through her
hazy eyes.
“Because she… she lost the … our
baby after she was kidnapped by an incarnation of Naraku…” Her heart sank. Our
baby was the line that stuck out the most in her mind and she just couldn’t
help the look of shock on her face.
Calmly, she looked away from Inuyasha and lifted Kagome’s head gently.
“Kagome… you… you were
pregnant? Dear… oh dear.” She started to rock her daughter until
Kagome’s breathing had calmed and the tears had stopped. Kagome sat up.
“Are… are you … upset with me
momma? I… it kind of just…
happened.” Her mother was silent. The shock didn’t wear off quite yet and she
was simply trying to breathe. Turning
back to face Kagome she grasped her hands.
“Kagome, may I please speak with
you alone?” When she nodded, they left
Inuyasha anxiously sitting in the living room as they headed into the kitchen.
When Kagome entered the kitchen
behind her mother she carefully watched as she placed her palms placidly upon
the counter in front of her daughter.
Kagome stood awkwardly at the other side of the island.
“Mom, um… please I know you are
upset…” Her mother cut her off with a
sigh.
“Upset? Kagome, upset doesn’t even begin to cover it…” Kagome choked back tears as her mother walked
around the island, coming to face with her daughter. “Kagome, I just… you are so young. I thought that you would know better than to
do something that invokes so much responsibility. Dear, I never wanted you to go through any of
this…” she put a hand to Kagome’s cheek; calling her attentions to her mothers
tearing eyes.
“Mom, I… I just love him so
much.” Doubling over into her mothers
arms, she cried. “I… it just happened, I
know I'm young but… I know he loves me too.”
“Oh Kagome, dear… I know you do,
it’s just that… well I know it’s a different time there and things are done
differently, but… dear…I just wish that you didn’t have to go through what
happened to you…losing a child is a very traumatic thing.” Kagome looked up as her mother held her
arms.
“Momma, I… I know it sounds silly
but, I want to have children with
Inuyasha… at first I was completely caught off guard, I was terrified. But, he proved to me that I didn’t have to
be. That he wanted the child no matter
what. Momma, he doesn’t know this but… I
knew that he was choking back tears when he told me that the accident caused damage…
and that the baby didn’t survive.” Her
mother perked up.
“Kagome… how much damage?” Kagome broke
down again.
“I…I don’t know, that’s one of the
reason’s I had to come back… momma… I … I think I need you to take me to a
doctor… I’m scared momma” Kagome looked shyly at the pacing hanyou in the
living room. Letting out a sigh,
Kagome’s mother hugged her close.
“When would you like an
appointment? You do understand that you
probably won’t be returning to the feudal era any time real soon don’t
you?” Kagome nodded with an air of
sadness. “Does Inuyasha know?”
“Yeah, he knows… at least… I'm pretty sure he knows.” She leaned herself against the island in the
middle of the kitchen and let out a long held in sigh. Mrs. Higurashi sat in the silence for a
moment before deciding that she was indeed going to have to talk to the young
man pacing in her living room.
“Kagome, I need to talk to
Inuyasha…” Kagome’s eyes went big as she
sucked in a sharp gasp. Gripping her daughters’
hands, Kagome’s mother moved a hair away from the frustrated girls’ brow and
waited for the expression of utter shock to wash away. When it did, she continued. “Is that alright?” Kagome nodded dumbly.
“I…I’ll go rest in my room… I
suddenly feel very drained.” Placing a
kiss on Kagome’s temple, the young girl disappeared into the apex of the kitchen,
heading for her bedroom. Mrs. Higurashi
let out a straggled sigh before walking out to speak with Inuyasha.
~*~
Kagome slowly opened the door to
her bedroom, eyeing the surroundings that were speckled in drones of sunlight
that dared to stream into the room, with an air of confusion. True, she had sex, she was no longer a pure
shrine virgin… true she was caught in a moment and forgot all about any forms
of birth control. Being 18 years old,
with no boyfriend or anything substantial she figured that she didn’t need to
be on the pill… not quite yet. Though
she suspected at times that Inuyasha did love her, and she admitted openly a
few times that she felt strongly for him… that she loved him…She had never been
completely sure, and she knew more than anyone that basing things on idea’s…
though nice… is just wasteful. It never
occurred to her that they would engage in such activity; never once dawned on
her that she could become pregnant with a child sired by the hanyou. Kagome could
feel her tears pushing up against the back of her retinas, but refusing to
shed. A dry sob shuddered throughout her
chest as she shut her door; backing up against it and sliding down to the
floor, she closed her eyes… trying so hard not to think about what had
happened… true at first she was terrified of what would happen, pregnancy
wasn't exactly something that was praised in this era… at her age. Along with the tears, it had begun to bring
Kagome a sense of self, of worth. She
was going to be a mother… and the child was that of a man she deeply cared
about. Now, as if in the blink of an
eye… a useless act of violence prompted by her own unawareness, it was all
gone. Crawling to her bed she managed to
pull herself upon the mattress and cling to a frilly pillow that lay as décor
to her neatly made bed.
The tears came.
~*~
Inuyasha
tried desperately to avoid her mother’s cold and knowing scowl as she paced the
living room in front of the standing hanyou.
Suddenly, she stopped dead and faced him.
“Sit
Inuyasha…” She had said it with such a
force that he half expected to plummet to the ground; her eyes were serious and
determined… Thank Kami she doesn’t have
control over the rosary. Inuyasha thought as seated himself on the futon
quickly, trying desperately to divert his attention to her alone. It proved to be quite trying. There were a few utterances under her breath
that he couldn’t quite hear, even with his sensitive ears… then her gaze began
to soften. Positioning her frame beside
the now rigid hanyou, she tentatively touched his hand.
“Huh?” He muttered at her actions, a confused glare
replacing his previously stoic and fear ridden play. Her eyes looked down at their hands before
looking back up at him, sighing, and speaking again.
“Inuyasha…
what happened? How did this happen?”
Inuyasha’s reply was almost a whisper, he wasn't sure where Kagome was…
but he could distinctly smell the faint odor of her tears spilling. More than anything he just wanted to be with
her, stroking her hair until her breathing clamed and she eventually fell into
slumber.
“I… I… it
just… happened. Neither of us meant to
but… Kudasai… I…” He couldn’t find his words and it was
apparent that he was nervous as a blush spread across his cheeks; his face
looking down into his lap.
“Inuyasha,
can you answer me this one question Onegai?”
His glare came up sharply.
“Nani… what
is it?” Nervously wringing the sleeve of
his red Haori, he looked everywhere but at her; afraid to know.
“Inuyasha …
do you love my daughter? Are you in love with my daughter?” He brought his courage up to a level were he
found himself able to look her straight in the eyes. The fear he had felt was replaced with
something else, something so spectacular…
“Hai… I… I
am very much so… you know.” She looked
upon him with an awe of curiosity.
“She, she needs a doctor… she wants
me to take her to get checked Inuyasha, do you realize that she will not be
returning to the feudal era for a while?
I hope you do because… If there is
something wrong, I will not allow her to return so soon.”
“I… I know… If it’s okay… I want to
stay with her until we can go
back. I… I just want her to be okay.” He
started to get nervous again and this time, Mrs. Higurashi was quick to
notice.
“Inuyasha,
are you okay?” His nervous stature
turned into that of fear and worry. He
tried to speak but found his head in his lap, vainly trying to hold back the
tears that fell.
“I … I
can’t be. She’s not okay, this is my
fault…I couldn’t protect her… and I … I need to be near her… I can smell her
tears.” Letting out a sigh, Mrs.
Higurashi let her hand trail up to wipe away some of his tears. Before standing and walking from the
room. Inuyasha took this as his
permission to go and he leapt out the door, to Kagome’s window. He could hear her wretched sobs as he neared
the pane. Gotta stay strong Inuyasha… he thought as he wiped his own
distended skin, slowly he opened the window.
“Kag…
Kagome…?” His voice was quiet… almost a whisper,
at first it even seemed that she didn’t hear; until he heard a whimpered
straggled version of his name coming from her muffled voice, through her
pillow. In almost an instant, Inuyasha
lay beside her on the bed and wrapped his arms around her shaking body. “Shhh, it’s alright… Kagome shhh…tell me
what’s wrong.” Her face peeked from the
pillow she had so desperately been clinging to.
His watch upon her softened as he reached down to kiss her stained
skin. His hand grazing the side of her
cheek, fingers entwining within her locks… he awaited her struggled
response. Finally, she began to speak;
her voice was broken and sullen.
“I…I'm
sorry…I wish I could be stronger… this shouldn’t have happened Inuyasha… I'm
scared. For the first time in my life I
am really scared, we fight demons, we face death every day… and yet now I am
terrified.” She clung to his Haori
tightly and let her tears swell up again.
“Inuyasha what if something is really wrong? What if I can never have children… your children…?” His ears perked at her words.
“My children? But… but Kagome… I'm just a hal—” Her head
snapped up before he could finish and she interrupted him.
“NO! You are not
just a half breed. I hate those
words…” her eyes squeezed together tight as she brought her hands firmly to
each side of his face “You are NOT just a half breed… such a vile word. You are better than any man I have ever
known… please don’t say that about the man I love… you protect me, and even
though you don’t say it… I know you
love me. Why wouldn’t I want to have
your children? Kami, you deserve to have
someone that stays by your side… someone who loves you… you have gone far too long without such.” He was speechless; the only thing he could do
was hold her tighter. “I love you sooo
much Inuyasha…” she whispered breathlessly as she closed her eyes and let her
body relax into his. Her tears had
finally stopped, and sleep began to engulf her.
“Sometimes,
I think I love you far too much
wench…” He heard her let out a long needed sigh, and held her closer; if that
were possible, kissing her on the forehead… he tried to surrender into
sleep.
~*~
Mrs.
Higurashi walked past Kagome’s room quietly.
She could hear nothing coming from the vicinity and took an opportunity
to peek inside; what she saw made her own tears fall. Inuyasha protectively held a distraughtly
sleeping Kagome within his arms. There
was so much pain in his face as his fingers entwined her strands of hair, but
also love.
Oh Kagome, that man really does love
you. If only for an instant, she was
reminded of her late husband. Inuyasha
was so much like him, she often thought so much so that they could have easily
been relatives. Before passing, she
whispered silently to Kami… to her late love.
“Please my love, help your daughter through
this… don’t let their love faultier.” Upon
shutting the door Mrs. Higurashi walked up the two steps that led to her

While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error. The AFF system includes a rigorous and complex abuse control system in order to prevent improper use of the AFF service, and we hope that its deployment indicates a good-faith effort to eliminate any illegal material on the site in a fair and unbiased manner. This abuse control system is run in accordance with the strict guidelines specified above.
