A/N: Thank you to everyone who has reviewed, I appreciate you
taking the time to give me your opinion on the story.� Well here is the next chapter, I hope you
enjoy it.
Chapter 6
Kagome was only asleep for an hour before she started
thrashing around.� Sesshomaru walked back
over to the bed and took her hand to try to calm her.� He was surprised when she calmed right away
without him even having to talk to her.�
Somehow she knew that she was safe, whether she knew it was him or not
was unsure.� He leaned forward and
brushed a stry strand of hair off her forehead amazed at how silky it was.� She looked so beautiful sleeping
peacefully.� She looked like an angel.�
He spent the rest of the night sitting by the bed deep in
thought as he comforted her.� When the
sun rose he finally got up and left giving orders to one of the servants to
assist her.� He also told the servant to
make sure she got her rest.� He wanted to
make sure that she fully recovered.� He
didn�t know how she would react to him trying to keep her in his chambers to
rest.� He had a feeling that she may not
be too happy about it though.
XXXXXX
Bankotsu was up as soon as the sun rose.� He had felt an odd disturbance last night and
he had a feeling it had to do with Kagome.�
He needed to get to her and fast, if anything happened to her then they
would have failed in their life debt.� If
anything did happen he knew a Demon lord that would have to answer to all of
the Shichinintai.� Renkotsu had stayed up
all night working on Ginkotsu to be able to speed up their journey.� They had all felt the pain and anguish and
were now anxious to get to the palace.
�Well Big Brother, with the adjustments I have made we should
make it to the palace before nightfall,� Renkotsu said sitting down next to the
fire.
�Good, wake the others.�
We leave after breakfast.�
�Yes Big Brother.�
XXXXXX
Kagome woke up to an empty room.� Within seconds however a beautiful cat demon
was at her side.
�Good morning milady, I have been instructed to care for
you.�
Kagome looked at her for a moment wondering what she meant by
care for her.
�Your clothes have been cleaned, would you like a bath?�
Kagome smiled, �That would be wonderful.�
She got up and followed the demon into a room with a huge hot
spring.� Her smile grew bigger at the sight.
�This is wonderful, thank you.� Um.. what�s your name?�
�Sorry milady, my name is Catra.�
�Well it�s nice to meet you and please call me Kagome.�
Kagome stripped down and stepped into the hot spring sighing
in relief as the warm water surrounded her. �She was completely healed, but she still felt
stiff and the water was just what she needed.�
Catra handed her a basket with different soaps and then left to retrieve
her belongings.� Kagome soaked in the
water just enjoying the peace until she sensed a familiar aura approaching
fast.� At this rate he would be here in
less than an hour.
Kagome quickly washed and dried herself.� She needed to talk him.� When she walked back into the room Catra was
waiting with her clothes and breakfast.�
She helped Kagome into the white kimono and then brushed her hair and
put it up in an elegant bun before putting her tiara on her.� Kagome put her necklace on and then sat down
to eat.� When she was done she stood to
leave the room.� Catra quickly stood and
blocked the door.
�I�m sorry milady, but Lord Sesshomaru has ordered that you
stay in here and rest.�
Kagome�s eyes narrowed, �He what?�
She sensed the aura then, it was already here, she needed to
get down there and talk to him.� She also
needed to have a talk with Sesshomaru while she was at it.
�Catra, you�re a sweet girl, but you better let me out or I
will have to hurt you.�
Her eyes widened as she sensed the
miko powers rise, �Ok milady, forgive me.�
Kagome nodded to her and walked out
of the room.� She would definitely be
having a talk with Sesshomaru later.
XXXXXX
Kouga ran all night and finally he made it to the
palace.� The guards at the gate tried to
stop him but he just rushed right through.�
He ran right into the palace praying that he wasn�t too late.� As soon as he was through the door he saw
Sesshomaru waiting for him.
�You better have a good excuse for barging into my palace
uninvited wolf,� Sesshomaru said drawing his sword.
�Where�s Inuyasha?� Kouga demanded.
�It is no business of yours wolf.�
Kouga was just about to demand again when he saw Kagome
coming down the stairs.� His jaw dropped
at the sight of her,� she was dressed all
in white and looked more beautiful than he ever imagined.� Sesshomaru turned to her and his breath
caught in his throat.� The way the sun
outlined her made her almost glow with beauty.�
He quickly shook his thoughts away and walked up to her.
�You should be resting Kagome,� he said calmly taking her
hand and leading her down the stairs.
�I assure you Lord Sesshomaru I am perfectly fine,� she said
her eyes glinting, �Besides I needed to speak with you and Kouga regarding
Inuyasha.�
�Kagome, you look beautiful as usual.� Now can you please explain what happened and
where Inuyasha is,� Kouga said trying to calm the situation.
Sesshomaru glared at him and gave a warning growl for him to
back off.� He continued to hold Kagome�s
hand making it known that he had pretty much claimed her.
�Kagome, why don�t we all go to my study if you must speak
with us.�
Sesshomaru lead the way still not relinquishing her
hand.� Kouga followed anxiously wanting
answers.� After they were in the study
Sesshomaru closed the door and lead Kagome to the couch while offering Kouga
the seat across from them.� Kagome looked
up and studied Kouga for a minute before speaking.
�So Kouga are you finally ready to admit your true feelings?�
she asked.
Kouga was stunned, �You knew?�
�Yes, I have for some time and I think a part of Inuyasha did
as well,� Kagome said smiling, �I will tell you what happened and then maybe we
can figure out something.�
Kouga sat speechless listening to Kagome as she told what
happened.� When she finally finished
explaining what happened he was so upset.
�So Inuyasha is lost to his demon blood forever?� he asked
not wanting to believe it.
�Well I was thinking on a way to maybe bring him back or at
least mostly back.� I wanted to ask, when
demon�s mate doesn�t the uke obey their alpha?�
Is the alpha able to keep them under control?�
�Well generally the uke does tend to mellow out and for the
most part they do obey their alpha.� They
want to please their alpha as their alpha wants to please them,� Kouga replied
not understanding what she was getting at.
Sesshomaru�s eyebrows raised as he figured what she was
thinking.
�You think that if Inuyasha finds a mate that it may reverse
his transformation?�
�I don�t know for sure if it would work, but Inuyasha being
hanyou is naturally a uke in demon mating right?�
�Yes he would be.�
�So if he mated a demon then he would be reigned in in a way,
right?�
�Yes.�
�Then maybe it would work to change him back, or at least
return him partially back to his old self.�
Also he would not be killing due to his blood lust because his alpha
could help him.�
Kouga listened to the conversation intently.� He may be able to save Inuyasha after all, he
felt hope start to build up in him.
�Do you really think it will work Kagome?� he asked
hopefully.
�It should, but there are no guarantees.�
Kouga stood and walked over to Sesshomaru, �That�s good
enough for me.� I want Inuyasha back, I
love him.� Lord Sesshomaru, I ask your
permission to mate your brother,� he said bowing.
Sesshomaru was stunned.�
The wolf was actually willing to take that chance?� He had to admit he hated seeing his brother
like this.� He looked over to Kagome.
�You think that on some level Inuyasha returned these
feelings?�
She nodded.
Sesshomaru stood up, �Kouga, prince of the wolf demon tribe,
you have my consent to mate my brother.�
I will have Jaken take you down to the dungeon where he is.� You mark him and if it works then he will be
released and you may complete the mating ceremony,� he said shaking the wolf�s
hand.
�Thank you,� Kouga said almost in tears and praying to all
the kami�s that this works.
Sesshomaru summoned Jaken and ordered him to lead Kouga to
Inuyasha.� Kouga hugged Kagome and
followed the toad, he heard Sesshomaru growl as he left the room.� He followed the toad down to the dungeon and
was shocked when he came to Inuyasha�s cell.�
There stood the hanyou he had come to love chained up to the wall.� Kouga felt his heart drop at the pathetic
sight.
Inuyasha�s hair, usually so shiny and beautiful, was now dull
and ratted up.� His eyes were so
different, almost lost looking.� The toad
opened the door and Kouga slowly walked in, he didn�t want to startle or upset
Inuyasha.� He slowly let his aura flare
to establish his dominance.� He felt
Inuyasha�s aura flare against him and pushed it back as he approached him.� Inuyasha�s ears pressed down to his head and
he tilted his head exposing his neck.�
Kouga felt a slight smile come to his lips at the sight.
�Inuyasha, I am going to mark you.� I love you and I want you to come back to
me,� Kouga said taking the last step to the hanyou.
Inuyasha�s eyes seemed to flash with recognition for a
second.� Kouga leaned down and bit where
Inuyasha�s shoulder met his neck.� He let
out a small growl as Inuyasha�s blood flowed into his mouth, it tasted so
sweet.� After a moment he released Inuyasha
and licked the mark to heal it.
�I love you, come back to me,� he whispered kissing Inuyasha
on the cheek.
He felt something wet hit his lips and the smell of salt
suddenly assaulted his nose.� He pulled
back to see Inuyasha crying, his eyes flashing from red to gold and back.� His heart almost sunk thinking that Inuyasha
didn�t want to be mated to him.� He
started to step back when he heard a whisper.
�I love you too, Kouga.�
Don�t leave me.�
He looked up to see gold eyes staring back at him.� His heart rate sped up and he felt happiness
course through him.� It worked, Inuyasha
was back.� The demon markings were gone
and his teeth and nails were back to their original size.
�I don�t know if you will still want me after you hear what I
did though,� Inuyasha whispered looking down as more tears flowed.
�Kagome told me everything.�
It was not you Inuyasha, I know you would never do anything like that
and so does she.� She doesn�t blame you
and neither do I.� We both wanted you
back,� Kouga said hugging Inuyasha and licking away his tears, �In fact she�s
the one that suggested I act on my feelings because it may bring you back.�
�You mean she doesn�t hate me for what I did?� Inuyasha asked
his voice sounding sad.
�No, she doesn�t hate you.�
She knew I loved you and she hoped that by me mating you it would bring
you back.� Sesshomaru gave me permission
to try and I did because I love you and wanted you with me.�
Kouga unchained Inuyasha and wrapped his arms around him,
taking in his scent.� He could still smell
the sadness, guilt and pain.� He let a
growl rumble in his chest to calm his new mate, letting his happiness surround
them knowing that Inuyasha would smell it.�
He felt Inuyasha calm and relax against him and smiled.
�Do you really love me too Inuyasha?� he asked.
�Yes, I have for a long time now.�
Kouga�s heart swelled with happiness, �Why did your beast try
to claim Kagome?�
�Because, she has been with me a long time.� My beast felt territorial toward her for some
reason.� I never wanted to mate her, I
wanted you, but my beast had claimed her I guess because it thought you would
never return my feelings.�
�I understand.� Now why
don�t we go upstairs and see about getting you cleaned and fed?� he could sense
that Inuyasha had weakened.
He picked him up and carried him upstairs where the others
waited.� Inuyasha sighed and cuddled into
Kouga�s chest taking in his calming scent.�
He couldn�t believe how happy he felt.�
He never thought that Kouga would return his feelings, he always figured
that being a hanyou he would never find love and be alone forever.� Now he had more than he ever dreamed
possible, he had a mate that he loved and that loved him as well.
XXXXXX
After Kouga had left the room Sesshomaru turned his attention
back to Kagome.
�I hope this works.� By
the way how are you feeling?� I wanted
you to rest because I figured you would still need time to recover,� Sesshomaru
said.
�I was just a little stiff, but a bath helped that.� There was no need to have a servant try to
keep me locked up,� Kagome said narrowing her eyes at him.
�I apologize, I should not have tried to control you.� I just wanted to make sure that you were
taken care of and had time to fully recover.�
Kagome was shocked, had Sesshomaru just apologized?
�Well, I am fine.�
Don�t get on to Catra for letting me out, I forced her,� she said
knowing he would probably try to punish the servant.
�Very well.� Would you at least indulge me and take it
easy today?� We can start training
tomorrow,� he said trying to compromise, he still didn�t think she was
completely recovered.
�Ok, Lord Sesshomaru, I will take it
easy today.� I need to spend some time
with my pup anyway, he�s probably really worried.�
Sesshomaru smiled and nodded, �Yes he
has been anxious to see you.� Rin is also
looking forward to seeing you.�
Sesshomaru offered her his hand and
let her out to the garden where the children were playing with guards nearby to
watch over them.� Kagome�s eyes widened
when she saw the garden.� It was the most
beautiful thing she had ever seen.�
Sesshomaru watched her reaction and was pleased that she liked it, he
had hoped she would.� Shippo and Rin were
sitting under a tree playing and they both jumped up as soon as they saw Kagome
and Sesshomaru.� Shippo ran to Kagome and
wrapped his arms around her legs, nearly knocking her over.
�Mommy,� he yelled happily.
�Shippo what did I talk to you about
this morning?� Sesshomaru asked looking down at the excited kit.
Shippo pulled back a little, �Sorry,
I forgot,� he said looking down.
Rin skipped up to them, �Sesshomaru
sama, Kagome chan, I drew pictures for you,� she said smiling as she handed
them her pictures.
The pictures showed a drawing of a
family, two adults and two kids.� One of
the kids was a fox kit.� Sesshomaru and
Kagome looked at each other for a moment.�
The children wanted them to be a family?�
Kagome smiled after a moment and leaned down to hug Rin.
�Thank you Rin, it�s beautiful,� she
said.
They all walked over to the tree that
the children had been playing under.�
Sesshomaru helped Kagome to sit down in the shade and then sat next to
her as they watched the children play.�
Rin kept picking flowers and bringing them to Kagome and Sesshomaru
giving them a big toothy grin before skipping off to pick more.
�Rin seems to be doing very
well.� She has changed quite a bit since
I first met her,� Kagome said watching the small girl running around happily.
�Yes, she is doing very well.� Things weren�t so good for her when I first
met her, but now she has a better life without worrying about cruel villagers,�
Sesshomaru replied remembering when he first met the small child that had
captured his heart.

Kouga carried Inuyasha upstairs and asked the toad to get him
some food.� Jaken led them to the dining
room and within minutes the servants came out with trays and trays of
food.� As soon as they left Inuyasha
filled his plate and began to eat all the different types of food.� He had never had such good food, there was so
much and it was all delicious.� Kouga
began to fill his plate as well and started to eat.� He was happy to see his mate had a good appetite.� He had been worried that Inuyasha would
starve himself because of the guilt he felt.
Kouga was glad to know that he had succeeded as a mate and
calmed the hanyou.� He smiled at Inuyasha
and they both continued to eat in contented silence.� When they had both had their fill Jaken led
them to a hot spring so they could get cleaned up.� After the toad left Kouga helped Inuyasha
undress then undressed himself.� Inuyasha
blushed and looked away,� but Kouga
walked up to him and hugged him.
�You don�t need to be embarrassed, you�re my mate now,� he
said turning Inuyasha to kiss him.
Inuyasha blushed even darker, �I know, but I know my body is
disgusting.� I�m just a filthy hanyou,�
he said looking down.
Kouga felt anger rush through him.� Inuyasha thought his body was disgusting
because of all the lousy demons and humans that always put him down.� He knew Inuyasha had gone through years of
abuse because of what he was, and he also knew that he had said some things as
well.� He was mad at himself for every mean
thing he ever said.� Inuyasha had gone
through so much and Kouga had not helped to encourage him in the past.
�Inuyasha, you are not disgusting.� You are the most beautiful creature I have
ever seen.� I am sorry for every insult I
ever uttered.� You are perfect.�
Inuyasha looked up at him with tear filled eyes, �Really?�
Kouga kissed him, �Yes really, you
have nothing to be ashamed of, you are beautiful.�
He led Inuyasha into the hot spring
and smelled Inuyasha�s nervousness.� He
sat down and pulled Inuyasha into his lap just holding him.� He leaned Inuyasha�s head back against his
chest and cuddled him until he relaxed.�
He just sat there holding his mate in his arms, letting the water relax
them both.� After about twenty minutes he
pulled the soaps over and started to wash Inuyasha.� He felt him tense.
�It�s ok, I�m just cleaning you.� We will not finish the mating ritual until
you are ready,� Kouga said kissing Inuyasha�s cheek.
Inuyasha felt happiness bloom in his chest.� Kouga really loved him.� He was willing to wait for Inuyasha to be
ready before finishing the mating ritual.�
�Thank you,� Inuyasha said turning to kiss Kouga�s
cheek.�
