Ruki-Chan: Thank you, Yes, I plan on updating everyday. I write pretty fast when the ideas come forth I have to write them down. The longest part for me is the rechecking to make sure everything is okay. Plus, I hate it when writers don't update as well. There's so many good unfinished fics out there. It makes me sad. So I wouldn't do that as well. By the way, It means a lot. ^_^ I hope i'm doing this right, I haven't written in a while. Thought i'd lost my touch.

Chp. 6 : Love a cometh...

Sesshoumaru watched Inuyasha closely; While counting in his mind to keep from yelling and just grabbing the dammed hanyou and leaving with him by force. Why did Inuyasha have to make things more difficult. He couldn't just obey him like a good mate. It wasn't as if he was doing this out of a need to harm him. No, He was doing this for his own good. Not that Inuyasha seemed to care. What was there to think about exactly? Everything was pretty much crystal clear.

As soon as the words left the hanyou's mouth, Sesshoumaru growled low in his throat. The defiance in his words. It made his youkai want to teach the dammed hanyou a lesson. But the anger evaporated like fog in a sunny morning when he saw Inuyasha stumble, and look light headed. He frowned at this and quickly rushed to him. It was like watching him fall in slow motion. Even though it took only moments he felt like it took forever to reach him. He was controlled. He wouldn't show worry for the hanyou. He wasn't worried for the hanyou at all.. No, It was the pup. That had to be what he was concerned about. The hanyou did not matter...

The demon lord took Inuyasha into his arms. Taking a minute he checked him all over, Sniffing and seeing if he was bleeding. His only concern being the pup, he kept telling himself that. Nothing else could have made Inuyasha fall unconscious. The kit was crying besides him. Looking up to his foster father while weeping. Sesshoumaru had no time for this. He stood with Inuyasha in his arms and walked out of the cave.

“Come if you wish. He is not coming back here.” Sesshoumaru said as he walked.

Shippou watched it all. For a while it had been fun. Knowing Sesshoumaru couldn't harm a marked mate of his, made it even funnier. He knew Inuyasha, and knew Inuyasha wouldn't put up with much. So it was fun for the kit to see the back and forth. Admiring how Inuyasha had the guts to talk back to Sesshoumaru. The funny moments came to halt when he saw Inuyasha fall to the ground after looking like he had drank too much sake. “Inuyasha..!” Shippou cried out rushing to his foster father. He got up on his lap, looking up to his face just crying, desperately wanting to see Inuyasha wake up. When he got moved and heard those words, he starred blankly at Sesshoumaru. He could see worry in the demon Lord's features. He wasn't hiding it very well this time. He was worried over Inuyasha. The though smartly he didn't say a thing. 'He's gonna let me go with him?' He thought surprised for a second, but then rushed quickly after him. Hopping onto Sesshoumaru's shoulder and then going down to curl up on top of Inuyasha's chest worried sick for him.

Sesshoumaru watched the kit. It was strange to him. A child's behavior. Rin was the same. Foolishly worrying over him when he got injured in battle. But he knew the kit did not understand fully what was going on with Inuyasha. After all the kit did not know that Inuyasha had been pupped by him. The moment the kit hopped on he took off, surrounding himself with his youki, he flew back to his castle as fast as light. All anyone would see was a ball of light flying across the land.

The trip back to the castle had taken longer than Sesshoumaru hoped. Though really it was barely 15 min. To Sesshoumaru it was too long. He should have flown faster. He rushed through the castle at the same speed and only slowed down when he was reaching his suite. 'The healer had better be there and be ready for this.' He thought as the guards rushed to open the doors wide for him when they saw him carrying his unconscious mate.

Sesshoumaru rushed inside and gently laid Inuyasha down onto his bed. He looked over seeing the healer had brought up his potions.

The healer knew very well how to work for his master. Figuring he'd be needed he had brought up everything he thought he'd need. Sure enough his master came in like a bat of out hell and laid an unconscious hanyou on the bed. He quickly went over, surprised to find a fox kit weeping on top of the hanyou. The kit moved to the side but stayed close. He'd find out later, but at the moment he focused on the hanyou. He sighed closing his eyes, his hand hovering over the body of the hanyou, scanning his entire body. He could feel his lord panicking silently behind him and tried to not focus on that.

“What is taking so long?” Sesshoumaru said looking to the healer; Who looked to him with a small frown.

“My Lord perhaps it would be best if you took a calming breath. I require peace to do my work. Your current state is not helping.” The healer said. He heard Sesshoumaru growl at him. “Growling is not helping either, my Lord. Do you wish your mate checked or not?” The healer said.

“Then work faster!” Sesshoumaru growled out, very much trying to gain control back over himself and his emotions. The healer could see it on the Lord, and shook his head, then went back to what he was doing. Everything was well as he worked his way down. The boy was exhausted. He'd pushed himself to far, and the healer knew it would take a couple of days rest for he boy to recuperate. He reached the area beneath the stomach where the pup was and relaxed visibly to find it still there, and still strong. Though a bit stressed over everything. That was normal considering. He was surprised the pup wasn't worse seeing as how early it was in the pregnancy. Once done he stopped and went over to his potions and handed it to Sesshoumaru.

“Give that to him.” The healer said calmer now.

Sesshoumaru looked at the liquid in the strange bottle and went over. He gracefully sat in the bed, sinking into the pillows as he did so. He took the hanyou into his arms. Moving his head carefully so he could get the liquid down his throat. Even unconscious he was happy to see it went down. The boy swallowing on his own. “How is he?” Sesshoumaru asked without realizing he'd asked about Inuyasha and not the pup.

The healer hid a smirk that formed. He looked to his Lord with small amusement in his eyes. “Exhausted. He pushed his body beyond his limit. His body is currently putting a lot of his power into creating the pup. So your mate will have to learn to slow down and think before he goes off running again.” The healer said calmly looking to his lord. It was such a beautiful sight. His Lord with his mate in his arms. Gently holding him, while looking worriedly down to his sleeping mate. “But he will be well. It's nothing that a lot of good meals, and a few days bed rest won't cure.” The healer said smirking to himself as he saw his lord relax at those worlds.

“The pup is still alive and well, my lord. A little stressed as the hanyou as not had a meal yet, and the pup will take a lot of nourishment to grow. But it is strong still.” The healer said calmly. “I will go and get him a platter made my Lord. I'll be right back.” The healer said.

Sesshoumaru looked up from Inuyasha. Sighing mentally to himself, realizing what he'd done. “Healer!” He said, watching the healer stop, and turn back to him. “Not a word! Or it will be your head!” Sesshoumaru said with a composed cold tone.

The healer smiled knowingly, and bowed. “I am your ever humble secret keeper my Lord. No one will know you have a heart.” He said with a smirk and left the room.

Sesshoumaru growled softly at that and looked down to Inuyasha again. He sighed wondering how long he would be unconscious. He hoped he would awaken soon, He wanted very much to get Inuyasha eating.

“Huh...Lord Sesshoumaru.....” Shippou said in a low tone, breaking Sesshoumaru out of his thoughts. He'd completely forgotten the kit was even there. Sesshoumaru looked down and over to the kit giving a cold stare. The kit took a few steps back. 'Wise move kit.' He thought, His nerves where not fit for pushing at the moment, even though he realized if he harmed the kit Inuyasha would most probably never forgive him. Not that he'd truly go and harm the kit permanently. After all, even he didn't go around killing children. He was sure what ever punishment he could dish out to the kit, the little thing could survive. Regardless, he could not stress Inuyasha out. So it was best to leave the kit well.

“Huh.... Um.... How are you... I mean.... Inuyasha don't like to stay in one place for long... An.... Resting... Even worse... So huh...” Shippou said looking up to him. “What did the healer mean by pup?” Shippou asked curiously.

Sesshoumaru thought about the kit's words. There where the chains. He could use those to keep Inuyasha in bed. Though he was sure the annoying hanyou would thrash and try to break free. Thus defeating the purpose of keeping him in bed. “Inuyasha is carrying my pup.” He said with a cold, controlled, stoic tone, not looking to the kit any longer, but looking back to Inuyasha.

Shippou didn't look surprised. He hoped over closer to Inuyasha again and looked up to the Lord. “So... huh.... You're gonna keep him then? For like... Ever?” Shippou asked looking curiously again.

“Yes.” Sesshoumaru answered with the same tone.

“Does he... know that? Cause... He didn't seem too back at the cave...” Shippou said. “But Inuyasha is stupid sometimes. Specially with like relationship stuff. Takes him a while to catch up to things like that.” Shippou said looking to his foster father still clearly worried.

“Indeed.” Sesshoumaru said with an annoyed cold tone, mentally sighing at all this. “I do not have you tell you to keep your mouth shut about what you've seen do I kit?” Sesshoumaru said looking down to the fox giving him one of his stares.

Shippou looked up to Sesshoumaru, and nodded in understanding. Keeping the mental laughing to himself. Who would have thunk it. Shippou could see even the big bad Lord of the West couldn't believe it. It was hilarious to the kit. “But... huh... You're gonna tell Inuyasha right? I mean... If he thinks you only want him for breeding, he ain't gonna stick around even if you did mark him. He'd hate you if he thought that.” Shippou said.

“That is a matter between him and I. Not for you to worry about. Keep your mouth shut and do not stress him. That is all you need to do.” Sesshoumaru said coldly.

Shippou looked up to Sesshoumaru. “Ya gonna talk to your kid like that? Cause Inuyasha won't like that either you know.” Shippou said with his smart ass tone, that always got on Inuyasha's nerves.

Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow and looked down to the kit. “I am amazed. I did not think my brother have that much patience. Clearly he must have a god's worth to put up with you.” Sesshoumaru said coldly. Making Shippou look to him, and stick out his tongue to the Lord. “Do not think your relationship with him will save you every time kit. I can make your life a living hell if you push me.” Sesshoumaru added.

Shippou rolled his eyes. “Yeah! Like Inuyasha would let you!” Shippou said bravely. Sesshoumaru smirked at this. The confidence the kit had on his brother. It was amusing. At least arguing with the kit was keeping his mind too occupied to sit here worried about his brother.

“Do you really wish to try it?” Sesshoumaru said.

“I know Inuyasha better than you!” Shippou said looking up to Sesshoumaru.

“Perhaps. But I am his mate.” Sesshoumaru explained hiding his amusement, behind the frozen tone of his voice and the mask of uncaring on his face.

“And i'm his kid. I still think i'd win.” Shippou said, he kept talking but he was amazed the lord was even talking this much with him. 'Must be more worried than I thought' Shippou thought to himself, while looking up to the lord. 'He's a confusing guy... Why does he have ta hide everything? Must be a lord thing...' Shippou wondered curiously.

“Perhaps... Sometimes...” Sesshoumaru said looking down when he felt Inuyasha stir.

Voices... He kept hearing voices. Talking back and forth. One was his kit... He knew Shippou's voice anywhere. The other... His mind struggled to recognize. Cold.... Sesshoumaru... He was still with him? What happened? He groaned, as he opened his eyes. Starring up cold amber looked back down to him with a something behind the cold that he couldn't make out.

'Why do I feel like this? I'm not weak... Why won't my body respond... It's like my arms weigh as much ten cart loads of rice.' Inuyasha thought to himself.

“Se....ssh.....ou.....” He said and coughed a bit because of a very dry throat. Sesshoumaru leaned over him, getting a glass of water and gently putting it up to his lips. He was amazed at the action. Who would have thought. Sesshoumaru taking care of him? Why? Inuyasha looked up to him, and drank the water down greedily. “Where....?” He asked looking around, mildly remembering the room. “Your... room... You... brought me back..” Inuyasha said confused. “What's going on Sesshoumaru?” He asked looking up to the Lord.

“You fainted in the cave. You pushed yourself to much. Your body could not handle it.” Sesshoumaru explained, trying to keep the relief to himself as he saw Inuyasha wake up and regain some strength.

“Why? I know my limits. That wasn't even close to 'em.” Inuyasha asked looking up to Sesshoumaru. “What'd you do to me? This is from the mark shit ain't it? Did you do something to make me weaker? It'd be just like you to want to keep my ass in line right?” Inuyasha said grumbling.

“The thought had not even occurred to me, but now that you mention it, perhaps I will.” Sesshoumaru said earning a growl from Inuyasha. He smirked mentally. “But that is not why you are weak.” He said. “Kit, go and tell the healer to hurry with the food. I want it here immediately. The guards outside will show you to the kitchens.” Sesshoumaru said ordering, not wanting the child around for what you probably turn into an adult discussion. Shippou looked to Inuyasha and then nodded. Figuring for Inuyasha's good to obey. He rushed out.

Sesshoumaru waited until the kit left and looked down to Inuyasha. “You where in heat Inuyasha, We mated. We fucked for more than two days. You are a breeder. What did you think would happen?” Sesshoumaru said calmly looking down to the hanyou.

Inuyasha watched Shippou bounce off, and then turned back to Sesshoumaru. He blinked back in shock when Sesshoumaru said that. He tried to get out of Sesshoumaru's arms. But his body was too weak and Sesshoumaru's strength easily kept him in place. “YA BASTARD!!! You got me fucking pregnant!!! I should have known!!! You always have something behind you dammed actions!!!” Inuyasha said growling. But then his mind turned. The growls stopped and he looked up to Sesshoumaru as a realization sprang to his mind. Myoga's words ran in his ears, Myoga had told him that he could only be impregnated by someone who loved him. He starred blankly up to Sesshoumaru more with amazement. “I'm... really...?” He asked.

Sesshoumaru watched Inuyasha. He got ready for the rant. It stopped faster than he'd thought it would. “Yes.” He said simply, wondering what was going through the hanyou's mind to make him stop so suddenly.

“You.... You.... love me?” Inuyasha asked blankly clearly not believing it, but truly that had to be the only explanation. He remembered Myoga's words. He watched Sesshoumaru get that weird look in his eyes, Then look soft for a moment before getting cold again.

'How dare he.... How could he... I do not love....' Sesshoumaru thought to himself, yet he couldn't deny it could he. Things worked the way they worked. He was not immune to them. “Do not be foolish. We mat...” Sesshoumaru said turning his face away from the hanyou, Trying his best to hide and work up a cold expression, to hide things. But couldn't continue when he felt Inuyasha's hand on his face.

Inuyasha wanted to see his face. “You...Sesshoumaru...?” He asked with a soft tone, while turning Sesshoumaru's face to him and looking up to the Lord. “I know how this works Sesshoumaru...” He said looking up as amber eyes met and locked. He gasped a bit as he was pulled into Sesshoumaru's chest.

The demon Lord wrapped his arms around the hanyou in a moment of weakness and utter loss of control. It left the hanyou shocked. He looked up, and then smiled softly, looking down, taking in Sesshoumaru's scent. He cuddled into the chest of the Lord and just stayed there. He smirked, understanding Sesshoumaru's position. It was enough that he knew he loved him. Really, it was more than enough. They both had appearances too keep up. Things they both portrayed to the world.

“It's okay... Ya know...” Inuyasha said in an understanding tone. “It's okay if you keep pretending you don't.” Inuyasha said looking up to Sesshoumaru's eyes.

The demon lord was besides himself. Trying to rein in emotions he had little experience in feeling. He leaned down, he couldn't help himself and just kissed the hanyou passionately. Silently thanking Inuyasha for this. For not pushing it, and digging it into him. He had not thought the hanyou would be capable of this. Lips meeting, parting, tongues dancing around each other as Sesshoumaru claimed the hanyou's mouth. He couldn't speak. He knew his voice would betray him. When the kiss ended he only looked into the hanyou's eyes again. How could he break him like this?

Inuyasha smirked softly. A cocky smile on his face. “Ya know this don't mean shit right? I'm still not gonna obey your holy ass like a weak bitch.” He said with that cocky smile on his face, as he got a small rumble from Sesshoumaru that he could have sworn was a laugh. He knew he could have kept prodding and pushing, making Sesshoumaru's life hell for a lot longer. But that wouldn't get him anything.

“Yes, it would be holy impossible for you to not give me trouble.” Sesshoumaru said now almost fully controlled again. 'He is as uncomfortable in emotional moments as I, who would have thought we'd have that in common.' Sesshoumaru thought to himself.

“Don't think I was made to make your life easy, ya bastard.” Inuyasha said teasing.

“No, you where made to infuriate me.” Sesshoumaru said with the cold tone. But amusement in his eyes.

“Damm straight.” Inuyasha said smirking and laughed at that, he lifted a hand again and traced Sesshoumaru's face. “The pup okay?” He asked softly now.

“You will need rest for a few days, But you and it will be fine. I expect you to stay in bed.” Sesshoumaru said looking to him, fully expecting defiance.

“When you say bed...Ya mean... like.. All the time bed??” Inuyasha asked.

“I mean not moving from here for any reason, bed.” Sesshoumaru explained, and heard Inuyasha groaned.

“Well what quack said that. I don't need that fucking long. Geez... Ya wanna kill me just do so?!” Inuyasha said with his grouchy, angry tone.

Sesshoumaru had to hide his amusement at this. “You will do so, or I will chain you again.” He said. 'That got him still.' He thought with a mental laugh when Inuyasha froze in his arms. “I'm glad you remember them.”

“Those things are evil! Ya ain't putting those things on me again!” Inuyasha said looking up to Sesshoumaru about to growl again when the lord said “We'll see.” But smelling food coming stopped that train of thought. He looked over to the doors.

“My young prince, I am astonished to see you awake. I thought you'd sleep longer.” The healer said coming over with a cart full of food. “I am glad to see you are indeed as strong as people say you are.” The healer said with a smile.

“Who the fuck are you?” Inuyasha asked cause the guy acted too friendly, but he did look to the food. His stomach grumbled loudly.

“I am the castle healer. Which means I am your healer and will be caring for you for as long as I am alive.” The healer said with a smile. “Now. I need you to eat. You require it to get better.” He said bringing over the bed tray to Inuyasha after filling it with food.

“Yeah you won't have to tell him twice. Inuyasha's a bottomless pit.” Shippou said hoping over with a big smile on his face seeing Inuyasha better.

Inuyasha growled to the kit but dug right into the food as if it was going to disappear any moment. Kagome had tried without stopping to teach him table manners. But it was impossible. Put food in front of him and he always ate the same way.

The healer raised an eyebrow, watching that with amazement. Sesshoumaru shook his head. “There is enough food Inuyasha. It is not going to disappear. We will get you more when that is done if you are still hungry.” Sesshoumaru said, shaking his head when Inuyasha looked at him with a mouth full of food. He hid the chuckle that tried to come out, and shook his head looking cold. He maneuvered himself from the hanyou's grasp and propped him up with pillows.

“Heh....*chew*... How come.....*Bite*... Ya have human....*chew*... food... *bite... Ya hate *swallow*…. this stuff...” Inuyasha asked mid chewing, biting, and eating more. Really it was a bit disturbing to watch. The healer almost couldn't. Shippou was completely used to it, and bounced over when Inuyasha handed him a baked fish. The kit plopped down happy to eat.

Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow watching that scene before him. “You do not eat demon food Inuyasha. I was not going to have you starving while you carry my pup.” He said and looked to the healer. “Remind me to bring an etiquette teacher for my pup the moment it's born.” He said with a cold, disturbed, and mildly repulsed look on his face when he pictured his pup a child eating like Inuyasha around the royal table. The thought made him shiver.

“Indeed my lord.” The healer said nodding. “Since the prince is doing well I shall leave him to eat and rest my lord. I shall come tomorrow to check him again. If you need me you know you only need to call.” The healer said calmly, bowed to everyone gracefully, and left.

Sesshoumaru followed the healer outside and spoke to the guard, telling him to have the servants bring his work here from his office. He was not about to leave Inuyasha alone, after what had happened the last time. The guard bowed and everyone went to do as their lord asked. Sesshoumaru came back over and changed into a resting outfit, not carrying if Inuyasha and Shippou both saw him in under garments. Not that they where looking because he knew they where too deeply involved with the food at the moment.

Inuyasha only looked up from the pile of food when he saw mountains of scrolls being brought in and placed by a low Japanese cherry oak desk that was to the side of the room, near the windows. He watched with curiosity as Sesshoumaru sat down, with his legs under him calmly, and started to go through the scrolls, reading each one, and then either signing them or putting them aside.

“Is that what you do all day?” Inuyasha asked curiously. That had to be boring as fuck. He couldn't imagine sitting there all day just reading and signing shit.

“I am a Lord, Inuyasha. This is unfortunately a part of the duties.” Sesshoumaru said not looking up.

“Keh! With reason you're an uptight fuck.” Inuyasha said teasing his brother as he kept on eating. Sesshoumaru looked up for a moment, but said nothing and went back to work.

“I shall have to notify my mother about our mating. She will want to meet you. So you best be ready for when she comes.” Sesshoumaru said calmly. He was not going to enjoy that one bit. But royal rules, where royal rules. Not that his mother had any say in anything he did but still. She was his mother.

“Ya have a mother? Alive!?” Inuyasha said looking up. “Why do I gotta meet her? If she's as bad as you I won't fucking survive meeting her.”

“I will not allow her to harm you Inuyasha. Besides, if she didn't when you where in your mother, she certainly isn't going to now that you are carrying her grandchild.” Sesshoumaru said coldly.

“Maybe his mom is nice Inuyasha...” Shippou said eating another baked fish.

“KEH!” Inuyasha said snorting. “Shippou the bastard didn't get his attitude from dad, alright. Everyone says so.” Inuyasha said now relaxing back into the pillows after having eaten his fill. The 'I will not allow her to harm you' bit didn't escape him. It had made him smirk to himself when he said it, and wondered if he'd noticed he said it.

Sesshoumaru could have laughed at that. It was true. He had come out to his mother almost fully. Something that had annoyed his father to no end.

Shippou pictured a female version of Sesshoumaru and shivered. “How'd your dad even pup someone that cold?” Shippou asked still shivering and grossing out at the idea.

“He needed a heir.” Sesshoumaru said simply, and coldly as if it was normal. “They where together two seasons, until she got pregnant with me.” He explained.

“Took two seasons?” Shippou said blinking.

“Must be worse than I thought...” Inuyasha said laughing. Just leaving Shippou to shiver again.

“Will she even like that you mated Inuyasha?” Shippou asked.

“Mother did not care who father mated after her. She did her part and provided him with a powerful heir. That was the extent of their relationship.” Sesshoumaru said. “She will not care if I mated Inuyasha or not. All she will care about is that the line is continuing.” Sesshoumaru said signing more scrolls, while giving Inuyasha a look from time to time. The hanyou was calmer than he thought he'd be. If food was going to do this to him every time, he was going to make sure the hanyou had food all the time.

“Gee well Aren't I happy you full blooded finally found a job for me.” Inuyasha said sarcastically while smirking and looking to Sesshoumaru.

“If you weren't recovering I would show you the rest of your duties.” Sesshoumaru said coldly. But clearly with an undertone that would be hard to miss for any adult.

Inuyasha smirked at that and looked shocked to his brother. “Wow... I didn't think Mr. High and mighty had a sense of humor.” He said laughing. Shippou looked up to Inuyasha and then looked to Sesshoumaru.

“There's a kid in the room ya know.” The fox kit said looking to them

Inuyasha just ruffled his hair. “You heard worse from Miroku, calm down.” He said yawning a bit, trying to hide it. After a while of trying to fight it he just gave up. He didn't have anything else Sesshoumaru would let him do anyways, and he figured for the sake of the pup, he had to obey at least this. He curled up, grabbing a pillow and out of pure instinct grabbed Sesshoumaru's because of course it had his scent the strongest. With a contented smile he fell asleep.

Shippou smirked a bit watching that. Then looked over to Sesshoumaru. Since the demon Lord hadn't said anything about him. He curled up near Inuyasha as well, just like always they fell asleep together.

Sesshoumaru was watching the whole thing, though he kept his eyes on his paperwork, he also watched them. The fact that Inuyasha had grabbed his pillow made him mentally smirk. So the hanyou at least liked him, if not more. In fact, the hanyou hadn't really said anything about hating the fact that he was mated to him. So he could suppose the hanyou liked the idea. He already knew the demon side of the hanyou was content with him as a mate. He shook his head a bit, just realizing he'd gotten a family. Complete with another ward. He wondered if they would keep picking up stray children all the time. The thought shocked him a bit. 'Wouldn't father be proud...' He thought sarcastically to himself. 'The old dog is probably laughing in his grave.' He thought and tried not to think about it, as he buried himself into his scrolls.
