During the time Ayame was
gone to the world; Shippou told Inuyasha about the ones who had killed his
parents.

and Manten, the Thunder-brothers.

Yes, I have heard of them, but it was a very long time ago.
But they were ass holes back then too, no difference in their behaviour I
gather. But do not worry pup, we will get them. We will avenge your parent�s
deaths.
They continued to talk.
Inuyasha told Shippou about how Ayame had awoken him from a deep slumber, how
she had been willing to protect him against a big centipede youkai. He told the
kitsune about her power to release him from a spirit arrow�s hold on his soul.

She is powerful then?

-

Yes, I believe she is, but I am not sure that she is aware of
it herself, said Inuyasha.

So what have you done to her?

-

Well my mate has not realized that we are soul mates, so I
had the old miko to help me bind her to me. And every time I say Sit my
love, she sits down on the spot.

Clever otousan, said Shippou with a wide smile.

Yeah, I thought so too pup.
Shippou laughed and
climbed up into the lap of Inuyasha and made himself comfortable there. He would
not get bored with these two around he gathered and yawned widely.

Are you tired pup? asked Inuyasha.

Mmm�

Well, hang on a second.
He sat the kitsune on the
floor and got up to get his mate. He lifted her up and carried her to the futon
in the corner. He then motioned Shippou to lie down next to his new mother and
Shippou smiled and did as he was told. Within minutes he was asleep, feeling
safe and secure.
Inuyasha went outside to
take care of the boar he caught earlier. With his razor sharp claws he sliced
the meat into smaller parts and laid them in a bowl he borrowed from the old
miko. He took as much as he needed and handed out the rest to the people who had
gathered around to watch him.

But we can not take this? said one man.

And why not? I have more than enough for me and my family,
answered Inuyasha with a frown.

Come on, I have not poisoned it, if that was what you
thought.

Take his offering Taka, Kaede�s voice rang from down the
road. I guarantee that he is a good hearted hanyou.

O-ok, if you say so Kaede-sama, stammered the men with one
voice and they took the meat that Inuyasha had offered them and thanked for it.
Inuyasha snickered and
gave the bowl of meat he had prepared and was ready to take off to get rid of
the rest somewhere in the woods.

Wait Inu-chan, I want to know what happened, said Kaede.

-
Sit my love.
That is the binding word, smiled Inuyasha.

And how did she take it?

-

Not very well I can tell you. I will not blame the villagers
if they are afraid of her now, she yelled and screamed quite a bit.

Did she wake the boy?

-

Yes, and we have a mission now. We will seek out Hiten and
Manten and revenge his parent�s deaths.

The Thunder brothers? Kaede sounded terrified.

-

Yeah, I have encountered them before but it is now a very
long time ago, I was still a young pup then, but I managed to ensure that Manten
never will have much hair, laughed Inuyasha with a wicked sound.

And if you encountered them now?

I�ll win!
Kaede nodded, since
Inuyasha had marked the wolf as his mate and if he were to consummate his mark,
he would be able to tap into her powers as well, and since she had been powerful
enough to break Kikyo�s spirit arrow � yeah � the brothers was as good as dead
already.

So can you make something out of this meat or what? asked
Inuyasha and nodded towards the bowl of sliced meat.

-

Of course. I will make your little family a nice dinner; I
will make my famous beef stew, smiled Kaede and watched as Inuyasha leaped into
the forest with the remains of the boar.
�How would have
guessed that the famous miko-killer would be a family provider? Not me, but I
know better now.� she
chuckled and went inside the hut.
