"He's never gonna go for it, you know," Inuyasha said, glancing up at Ros as they sat on the grass.
She sighed. "I know."
Not convinced that she did, Inuyasha continued. "Even if we told him, explained it, he wouldn't believe it would work and he wouldn't cooperate. Or he'd be his usual stubborn self and say he didn't need it."
"I know," Ros said again, "which is why..." She hesitated.
Inuyasha sighed. "I know. We have to trick him." His ears flattened as he thought about it. It would be a betrayal of sorts, and after what he'd already done... But, this time at least, the end justified the means, and if Sesshomaru hated him for it, at least... He couldn't think of anything that would be good about that situation, except that at least he was used to it. It would just be a return to the old days of them trying to kill each other, nothing new. "When we get close enough, hit him with that freezing spell, and I'll go get it." He took a deep breath.
Ros smiled at him encouragingly. "It'll work. Trust me."
"Feh. That's the problem. I don't, but I seem to be doing that anyway."
She touched him lightly on the shoulder, and they moved off through the forest in search of Sesshomaru.
Ros had told him that she had put a spell on Sesshomaru to keep him from finding them while she and Inuyasha talked, and Inuyasha wondered why- if this spell worked on his brother just fine- did she claim that the other one, the one Chernobog had, didn't? As Inuyasha sniffed around, looking for Sesshomaru, he could smell his brother everywhere. At first he thought it was a strange side effect of whatever Ros had done, but the more he sniffed the more he realized it wasn't. Sesshomaru had been everywhere, searching the forest for something- him. Feeling particularly wretched, Inuyasha felt his ears droop again as he followed the most recent scent trail.
And when they found Sesshomaru the sudden relief that flooded his scent as he came toward Inuyasha made the half breed feel even more horrid than seeing the lines that scarred his face. He tried not to look at his brother as Ros cast her spell, as he pulled the Tenseiga from by his side, but even then he could smell him, hear him, and he wanted to stop and explain, but he still didn't really trust Ros' assertion so he kept his mouth shut. If would be better if Sesshomaru just thought whatever he was thinking, and then, when it was done, Inuyasha would explain- if Ros' plan didn't kill them both. And when Sesshomaru started screaming Inuyasha screwed his eyes shut and turned his face away.
You say you cut him, with your sword? Ros had said. This is good. I know a spell that will heal this wound. It requires an object bound up with his life-force. This is the Tenseiga. And it requires the instrument which first inflicted the wound. That is your Tetsusaiga. It is even better that they are such similar objects- that will aid the process. And it requires the blood of the person who fist caused the wound, to bind them, and it is good isn't it that this is something that you want as well?
"Release!" Inuyasha realized suddenly that Ros was shouting in his ear. He blinked and pulled the sword out, releasing his hold on his brother's shoulder as well. He stood for a minute, shaking, as Sesshomaru, no longer held up by any force, collapsed to the ground, his wild screaming dissolved into shaken moans. He wrapped arms around himself, realizing with a sudden start hat it was arms, in the plural, and that he wasn't dead.
He held his left hand up in front of his face and stared at it. Inuyasha moved, stepping away from his brother, and Sesshomaru's eyes were suddenly drawn to him. They stared at each other, neither moving, until Inuyasha felt the sword in his hand start to vibrate. The spell Ros had woven was temporary, and was about to dissolve; he opened his hand and two swords fell to the ground. Sesshomaru glanced at them, but looked back at Inuyasha. Inuyasha dropped his own gaze; the struggle had opened the cuts on Sesshomaru's face and there was blood seeping from his forehead down the side of his face. Sesshomaru, ignoring his bleeding face, rose easily and flexed his new hand. Inuyasha took a step back, but stopped. He'd known what he was doing; if Sesshomaru was angry he would take whatever punishment his brother deemed necessary. He wasn't going to run away, and he tried to squash the gibbering voice in the back of his mind that was Chernobog's spell as it whispered that Sesshomaru would hate him forever now and do worse things to him than kill him, he should run while he had the chance...
And Sesshomaru's hand came up and brushed Inuyasha's cheek softly, as if it reveled in the touch of his skin. He glanced up at Sesshomaru to find his brother looking at him with wondering eyes. Inuyasha offered him a tentative smile. "You are alright?" Sesshomaru asked quietly; amazingly Inuyasha's state of mind and the events of earlier in the day seemed to be foremost on his mind.
Inuyasha nodded, dropping his eyes from Sesshomaru's penetrating gaze. "I..." He swallowed. "Chernobog... has this spell..." But there weren't any excuses. "I'm s... sorry," he choked out. "I didn't mean..." And he trailed off, because hadn't he meant it? And it didn't matter, cause he'd done it anyway...
"Inuyasha," he heard Sesshomaru say and he flinched. "Idiot half breed." And suddenly Sesshomaru's arms were around him, both of them, and he was holding him close. One hand came up to tangle in his hair and pulled him away slightly so that Sesshomaru could look at him and mutter, "You are incredibly stupid," before he pressed his lips against Inuyasha's forehead.
"Hey," Inuyasha muttered, suddenly filled with an odd emotion. "What the fuck? Get off me." And he shoved Sesshomaru, but it was half-hearted at best and his brother only released him so that he could pounce on the half breed and tackle him to the ground.
They rolled over a few times- Sesshomaru coming out on top, Inuyasha vowing silently that it was only because he let him- and then lay still, Inuyasha looking up into his brother's eyes. He reached up to wrap his fingers around Sesshomaru's upper arms and feel the muscle there, in both of them, and he smiled, perhaps realizing for the first time that it had worked. Sesshomaru leaned down, bringing his mouth near Inuyasha's ear, and was about to say something when Inuyasha stiffened. Sesshomaru smelled it too; he looked up, leveling a glare at Chernobog.
"How touchingly fraternal." Chernobog stepped out of the trees, his lip curled in contempt.
Sesshomaru's eyes blazed red as blood and a green mist gathered around his fingers as he crouched and leapt at Chernobog with a snarl. Chernobog narrowed his eyes and met Sesshomaru's lunge easily, grabbing the other demon by the forearm and throwing him to one side while he continued to advance on Inuyasha. He leered down at the half breed, and Inuyasha, who had rolled to his feet and now crouched as if ready to jump up and attack- or run- could only glare and shiver and hold his ground. Chernobog reached out a hand, as if to grab Inuyasha by the scruff of the neck, but Inuyasha dodged and reached up, reflexively, to sink claws into that hand. Chernobog snarled and used the hand to backhand the half breed. Inuyasha staggered from the blow and looked up to see Chernobog's hand coming at him again, determined to take hold of him... And suddenly the demon's expression went from one of confidence to one of pain. He tried to reach behind him, as if something had stung him in his back, and Inuyasha glanced up to see Sesshomaru behind Chernobog, in the process of reaching one arm over to the other demon's front and dragging the claws of his hand roughly across Chernobog's face.
Chernobog screamed in outrage, but he retreated, and Sesshomaru sprang away from him. His left arm still hung free of his clothing and both of his hands dripped with Chernobog's blood as he came to stand protectively in front of Inuyasha.
Snarling at them, Chernobog retreated. "Ros," he called, her name a demand for her to follow him. She started; she had been mostly ignored in the battle, and, not really wanting to pick a side, had liked it that way. But now...
She turned toward Chernobog, only to hear Sesshomaru say, in a low, deadly voice, "Move and I will kill you." She froze. Chernobog, his face bloodied, hissed at them, but retreated.
A stillness settled over the little clearing, broken suddenly by Sesshomaru as he stalked purposefully over to Ros and, grabbing her by the throat, lifted her above him. "What are you?"
Pulling his true question from those three growled words, Ros said chokingly, "Chernobog approached Baikal. They are together against you. Chernobog fears you, Lord of the Western Lands, more than anything." His eyes were narrowed, but he lowered her to the ground. She rubbed her throat before continuing. "He is my brother, born of the same mother of a different father. You would know my father, Lord. He was your uncle. Your mother's brother," she clarified, seeing Inuyasha's surprised look. Sesshomaru nodded, as if he had known this all along.
"That's what you meant," Inuyasha murmured, and Sesshomaru looked at him sharply.
Ros nodded. "Inuyasha wondered why Chernobog's spell did not affect you," she explained to Sesshomaru, "and I said it was because I had cast the spell to not affect myself, which protection extends to all of my blood."
"What spell?" Sesshomaru said, his eyes fixed narrowly on Inuyasha. His brother only looked at the ground.
"It is a fear spell," she said, and Sesshomaru nodded once again as if he had known the answer. "Chernobog fears that you will seek to possess his lands, through blood relationship with me," she added, hoping that would rattle him a little, but he only glanced at her before returned his gaze to Inuyasha.
"I thank you for your assistance, sorceress," Sesshomaru said. "You may go or stay at your will."
Ros nodded and withdrew to the edge of the clearing, recognizing a dismissal when she heard one. Sesshomaru could do well and offer, but she had very little choice other than to remain with him until he succeeded in killing her brother. Having openly defied Chernobog by responding to Sesshomaru's command, she knew she could not return to him. He might take her back, but Baikal would insist that she died and Chernobog was his- completely. That irritated Ros to no end; that her brother would listen to such an obviously self-serving demon as Baikal. Ros cursed whatever fate had drawn her brother's attention to the south and east of their lands and brought him in conflict with her father's family. If not for this she could have lived comfortably enough for many years yet; now she was forced to choose and not even blood could help her make this choice for both sides demanded the loyalty of her blood. She had chosen Sesshomaru; because, as much as she cared for her brother, he was wrong in this and she could not conscience his alliance with Baikal and their preemptive strikes against unwarned lands. She sighed; there was no course that was clearly right. She would muddle through as best she could. And, hopefully, she would get the chance to let Baikal know exactly what she thought of him.
--
Inuyasha stared intently at the ground. He was a failure, weak, always getting tricked and caught by stupid spells... Doubting himself and letting it affect Sesshomaru as well... It was because of his human blood, it made him weaker, he should just leave, go away, far away, now...
"Inuyasha."
Startled, Inuyasha looked up and met Sesshomaru's gaze. He swallowed hard and shook his head violently, trying to dislodge that frantic, insistent voice. Sesshomaru reached out a hand to him, then suddenly withdrew it, narrowing his eyes at the blood that covered his fingers. "Come," he said to Inuyasha, and he turned away and walked off into the forest. Inuyasha followed, pausing to pick up
the two swords that lay in the grass, sheathing Tetsusaiga at his side and carrying Tenseiga before him.
Sesshomaru lead the way to a stream. Kneeling beside it, he washed his hands in the cool water, an expression of distaste on his face as he removed every last trace of Chernobog from himself. He paused for a moment and looked at his hands, moving the fingers of the left one as if testing it, and then he curled it into a fist, his smile cold. Shaking himself slightly from this reverie, he rose, straightened his clothing, slipping his left arm inside its sleeve, and turned to Inuyasha.
Faced with his brother, Inuyasha offered him the Tenseiga, holding it out with both arms slightly above him as he bowed his head down. Sesshomaru frowned at this submissive pose, but took the sword and returned it to its sheath at his side. He reached out both hands and took his brother by the shoulders, and Inuyasha looked up at him, sorrow on his face. Sesshomaru suppressed a sudden urge to go and find Chernobog and kill him, but reminded himself that Inuyasha required his attention at the moment. "What do you want?" Sesshomaru asked, unexpectedly. Inuyasha's expression grew confused. "What do you want Inuyasha?" he continued. "I know what I want; what is it that you want?" The demon hesitated, before adding, "You do not have to remain here. I did not ask for your assistance. You can return to your human companions."
"Is that what you want?" Inuyasha asked softly. The way Sesshomaru's hands tightened on his shoulders answered him. "I don't want to go," he said. "Besides, you did ask for my help."
Sesshomaru raised one eyebrow. "I do not recall making such a request."
"You did, even if it was unconsciously. When you came to me... That was what you wanted." He looked up, staring into Sesshomaru's face, silently asking if he was wrong.
Sesshomaru stared down at him, one hand releasing his shoulder to brush his cheek. "It was," he confirmed, softly. "Even if I did not know it myself. I... wanted..."
He struggled to find words to express what he was feeling, but it was Inuyasha who said, "Family." Sesshomaru looked at him oddly, and Inuyasha continued. "I... I've gone to see Kagome's family a few times and..." He paused, his eyes unfocused as he looked at something that wasn't there. "It's a feeling of... love... It surrounds them, and you can just look at them and know they love each other- that they accept each other. They'll take care of each other and they think about what's best for each other, and they seem to know when someone's feeling down and they want to help, and, maybe that doesn't all translate- maybe humans are different, but," he looked at Sesshomaru, "it's watching someone's back and being there when they need you, being someone they can count on, someone they can trust... love... unconditionally." He stopped and looked away, and then looked back at Sesshomaru questioningly.
Sesshomaru stared thoughtfully down at his brother. Trust... Had he ever trusted anyone? Love... And the more he thought about it the more he thought that, yes, Inuyasha was right. That was what he'd been looking for. Those nights they'd shared, suffering together, and the consideration Inuyasha had shown him had sparked something in him. And he wanted more. He closed his eyes and wrapped his arms loosely around Inuyasha. "Unconditionally?" he repeated.
"Yes," he heard his brother reply.
Sesshomaru nodded. "Come home with me," he said, opening his eyes to see Inuyasha's reaction.
His brother's eyes lit up. "Feh, whatever," the half breed said, trying to hold on to his trademark aloofness, but Sesshomaru could smell his excitement.
"I have to collect a few people first."
"I think Ros wants to come," Inuyasha responded. "But you're talking about Jaken right? And that girl?"
Sesshomaru nodded. "Indeed." His lip twitched, betraying amusement. "It'll be something of a crowd."
--
Jaken was sitting next to the fire, half asleep, wondering what could be keeping Lord Sesshomaru from returning to him. His lord had never done this before; simply left after ordering them to stay put, and staying gone for so long. He sensed someone approaching and peered blearily but hopefully out into the night. He jumped to his feet wide-eyed when Sesshomaru walked out of the darkness.
"Lord Sesshomaru! It is good to see you back!!" He bowed to his chosen lord.
The noise woke Rin, who smiled widely at her guardian. "Lord Sesshomaru!" she echoed Jaken, but she noticed movement behind him and asked, "Have you brought someone with you Lord Sesshomaru?" Inuyasha walked out of the darkness, Ros a few steps behind him. "Two someones!" Rin exclaimed. "How wonderful! Are you going to be traveling with Lord Sesshomaru?" she asked the pair.
"Don't be silly, Rin," Jaken sniffed. He looked at Sesshomaru. "My lord," he murmured, bowing, and darting confused, antagonistic looks at Inuyasha. "I feel I must inform you of the fact that your despised brother is standing not far away from you at this very moment."
Sesshomaru glanced over at where Inuyasha knelt by Rin as the girl asked him if Kagome was with them as well. "He is coming home with us," Sesshomaru said, blank faced. He raised his left hand to brush hair away from his face, and while Jaken's jaw had dropped at that first piece of news, it hit the ground now as he stammered, "M-my lord!! Your arm! It..." And he just about fell over when Sesshomaru, ignoring his stuttering address, added, gesturing to the third figure, "This is Ros. She is my cousin and will be coming as well."
"Y-yes my lord!" Jaken was thrown completely off balance. What was this!? His lord, who had traveled alone for many years- and only allowed Jaken's loyal company because the demon was such a worthwhile servant, Jaken surmised- had started collecting people! It had started with that girl, and now- Inuyasha?! Jaken stumbled along behind his lord as the group moved off. Aa-Un trailed along behind the others impassively, the addition of traveling companions not affecting his mood in the slightest. Rin laughed happily as Inuyasha gave her a piggyback ride, jumping up through the trees to land in a splash of leaves right in front of Sesshomaru, who narrowed his eyes at the pair
in a halfhearted display of reproof.
Jaken just walked, staring straight ahead of him. What was all this?? Did it mean Lord Sesshomaru no longer desired Jaken's company on his lonely trekking across his lands?? Did he no longer want or require Jaken's service?? What was he good for if not to serve the lord he had pledged his life to?!?
"You must be a great and loyal servant to my cousin," a voice said, and Jaken looked up, startled, to see Ros walking near him.
"I serve Lord Sesshomaru utterly and completely," he said proudly, pushing his doubts to the back of his mind.
"I see," she replied. She didn't say anything else for a time, thinking, and then said softly as if talking to herself, "He does seem to enjoy your company. He couldn't resist teasing you."
"R-really?" Jaken perked up, glancing at Sesshomaru, walking far ahead of them, then turning to stare hopefully at Ros. "You think so?"
She smiled at his sudden eagerness. "This pleases you to hear?"
"Yes," Jaken said. He glanced at Ros and sighed. "I was worried that perhaps Lord Sesshomaru had become displeased with my service. He has never permitted the company of so many demons, most especially not his no good half brother!" Jaken shook his head in bewilderment at whatever could have caused such a change in his lord.
"I think you will see relations between them have changed," Ros said humorously.
"Oh? Well..." Jaken thought. "I suppose... that is a good thing." He tried to reconcile the Sesshomaru he had known with this apparent new one. Had something happened to his lord while he was away? Well obviously- his arm had been restored. Had that somehow lightened his feelings of hatred toward his brother? Jaken shook his head; it was not his place to understand, merely to obey. Lord Sesshomaru said that Inuyasha would come with them- then it was so. "I will obey as my lord commands," he said softly, under his breath.
Ros sighed, as if she had heard him, and turned to look behind her. "Where is it that we are going anyway?" she asked Jaken.
"You do not know?"
"Sesshomaru didn't say much- just that we had to come pick up you folk. And something about going home."
Jaken nodded. "We go to the fortress built by Lord Sesshomaru's father, Inunotaisho. It is quite magnificent," he added in a low, conspiratorial voice.
"Oh? Well." Ros seemed impressed. "I almost cannot believe he would show me the way to such a place."
Jaken frowned at her. "He said you are his cousin; of his blood. Why should you not be shown?"
"Indeed," Ros said softly, and left it at that.
--
Sesshomaru looked up at the imposing edifice of his home, imposing more because it was built into the side of a mountain than because of any actual architectural purpose. Inunotaisho had been wise as well as powerful; the grandness of his home was hidden within the strength of nature and one almost had to already know the fortress was there to see it. Sesshomaru halted and looked up at the mountainside, eyes narrowing against the evening sunlight as he picked out the details that revealed his home's existence to him. Inuyasha paused at his shoulder and also looked, gasping in surprise after a moment as he too saw it. Sesshomaru looked over as his brother; Inuyasha wouldn't remember it of course- he had been very young indeed when Inunotaisho had died and his mother had taken him to live with the humans. Smiling softly, the demon lord led the way to his home, his devotees and family following after him.
The front door was hidden behind an overhang of rock, and was only wide enough to allow two at a time to enter through it. Once inside, Inuyasha glanced up around at the huge entrance hall in wonder.
"It has been a long journey," Sesshomaru said flatly, glancing at Jaken.
Jaken bowed to his lord. "I will show you to rooms, Ros and Inuyasha." Sesshomaru placed a hand on Inuyasha's shoulder, and Jaken, noticing, turned to Ros and motioned her to follow him. "This way lady," he said as he led her toward guest chambers.
Rin turned to Sesshomaru. "Goodnight Lord Sesshomaru! Inuyasha!" she chorused, then followed after Jaken and Ros, her room down the same hallway.
Inuyasha looked at his brother questioningly, but Sesshomaru only turned and lead him in the opposite direction. They went up several flights of stairs and past many rooms, Inuyasha glancing around all of them. When they reached their destination, Sesshomaru stopped and waited to see what Inuyasha's reaction would be; for this was Sesshomaru's room, and he rather hoped his brother would share it with him this night.
--
Inuyasha followed Sesshomaru into the next room and only when he was in it did he realize it was a bedchamber. Sesshomaru's bedchamber; the smell of his brother filled the room. He hesitated, but Sesshomaru knew he was there, had, in fact, brought him to this place, so he stepped forward and reached out a hand to place it against the middle of his brother's back and run it slowly downward. The demon shivered and turned to face Inuyasha, raising his hands to cup the younger man's face in them. Inuyasha placed his hands against the outside of Sesshomaru's and then turned his head to kiss both of his brother's palms before reaching forward and pulling at the sash around Sesshomaru's waist. As if that had been the signal he was waiting for, Sesshomaru turned and, removing his swords and armor, placed them on a table near the door. Inuyasha put Tetsusaiga next to its twin, Tenseiga, and turned back to Sesshomaru, his hands going again to the sash, and he pulled out the knot and let the soft silk flutter to the floor. He moved his hands to Sesshomaru's shoulders and pushed the hindering cloth of his kimono back off of his arms so that it too fell to the floor. The light was dim, but that didn't matter to one who could not only pretty much see in the dark, but also experienced the world deeply through four other senses. Inuyasha swallowed as his eyes ran over the musculature of Sesshomaru's bare chest, and he stepped forward, leaning against his brother, hearing the sound of his breathing, smelling his desire strong on the air.
Sesshomaru's hands came up and pulled at the tie around Inuyasha's waist, easing his hakama down over his hips. His hands rose, pushing the haori and kosode off of his brother in a smooth motion, so that the cloth hung from Inuyasha's raised arms as he worked Sesshomaru's hakama down over his hips, dropping his arms so that they both stood naked before each other. Sesshomaru hesitated; he was familiar with the motions of sex but he had never performed the act with someone he truly cared about before Inuyasha, and he was aware that there were things that happened differently, ways of doing and touching that expressed true feeling more eloquently. Inuyasha seemed to know what they were- and if there was one thing Sesshomaru did not want, after all the filth Chernobog had told him, it was for Inuyasha to think that Sesshomaru only used him for amusement.
Unaware of his brother's thoughts, Inuyasha placed his hands on Sesshomaru's chest, slowly running them down and to the side until he held his brother by the hips. Leaning forward, he pulled Sesshomaru toward him slightly, and tilted his head up to tenderly lick his brother's throat. Sesshomaru growled softly, a rumble in the back of his throat, and brought his hands up to tangle in Inuyasha's hair, finding their way up until his fingers brushed against soft, furry ears. Inuyasha made an appreciative sound and his brother repeated the gesture as the half breed stroked his fingers over the smooth skin of his brother's hips.
Walking backward, Sesshomaru brought them to the bed. He sat on the edge of it, Inuyasha straddling him, and both of them gasped as their groins brushed. With a light push from the half breed, Sesshomaru lay back full on the bed. Inuyasha sat across his stomach and reached up his hands to twine the fingers with Sesshomaru's, leaning forward and taking his brother's mouth in a kiss. Opening his mouth, Sesshomaru lay still for a moment, learning, then he kissed Inuyasha back forcefully, tongue invading his mouth, tasting as much of him as it could. Inuyasha broke off the kiss, gasping for breath; Sesshomaru could hear his brother's heart beating rapidly, and he was sure his own was not far behind. The half breed bent his head, dropping small kisses down across Sesshomaru's jaw, under it across his neck... And his teeth closed softly on the vein that pounded in Sesshomaru's throat and he paused there for a moment. The demon closed his eyes; he knew this one- this was trust- and he took a deep breath and laid his head back, exposing more of his throat to Inuyasha. He owed it to his little brother, after he had doubted him earlier; how could he have ever thought that Inuyasha would seek the aid of that witch in order to slay him? Granted they both hadn't been thinking very clearly at the time, but he should have known better... Inuyasha whined softly in response to Sesshomaru's show of trust, and started kissing the side of his face- where the half-breed had clawed him- repeatedly, as if erasing the tracks of his claws with his lips.
Disentangling his hands from his little brother's, Sesshomaru reached up his arms and wrapped them around Inuyasha, pulling his brother against him. He rolled them to their sides then took Inuyasha's face firmly in his hands. "You fought him," he said, his voice full of pride. "You did not give in to him. Inuyasha..." He kissed his brother under the chin. "I cannot say how very proud I am of you." Their eyes met, and Inuyasha flattened his ears in disbelief. "Father would be proud of you," Sesshomaru added as Inuyasha's eyes searched his face for the truth of his statement.
"But, I..."
"I was stupid," Sesshomaru continued, "You are strong, I assumed it could not affect you. I forgot that there are things which overcome strength. You were stupid," he added, "for thinking that I would cast you out for fighting me. No child of our father ever submitted to anything without a fight."
"You did, yesterday," Inuyasha whispered. "To me."
Sesshomaru rested his forehead against Inuyasha's. "I..." he began, but Inuyasha kissed him quickly, cutting him off, then pushed him, rolling them over so that Inuyasha pinned him down. Sesshomaru growled softly- and the mischievous grin Inuyasha shot him almost made him smile, shattering his facade of irritation. Good, he thought. He had been worried, he would admit, that Chernobog's meddling had somehow changed Inuyasha; he was glad to see that was not the case, as he shoved at his brother good-naturedly. He rolled them over again, deeper into the huge bed, trapping Inuyasha beneath him as he pinned both of the half breed's hands above his head with one hand of his own and trailed the other one teasingly down Inuyasha's side. Bringing his leg up, Inuyasha kicked his brother in the side, making him loose his grip. Rolling over, Sesshomaru lay facedown against the bed; when he tried to rise, he suddenly felt Inuyasha pounce on him, pinning him back down. The half breed kissed his way over Sesshomaru's shoulder to the back of his neck, and then traced the curve of his ear with one finger, followed by his tongue. Sesshomaru shivered, both at the sensation and as their position brought a memory to the forefront of his mind. Inuyasha on top of him... inside of him... He glanced back at his brother, wondering if he was thinking the same thing.
Inuyasha saw the look Sesshomaru shot him, and just then, as his hardened length twitched against his brother's ass, he remembered. Did... Sesshomaru want that? Was that what that look was about? Moving off of his brother, he grabbed him by the shoulder and flipped him onto his back, using the same motion to lift and spread Sesshomaru's legs. He didn't pause, but in the period of time it took him to sufficiently lubricate himself, Sesshomaru could have thrown him off if he wanted to. But when he slid his slick length against his brother's entrance, Sesshomaru only lifted his hips and spread his legs further. A few moments later and he was inside, his brother hot and tight around him. Sesshomaru grunted in discomfort, but Inuyasha thrust against him and he groaned in pleasure, his muscular legs coming up almost automatically to wrap around Inuyasha. The half breed lifted a hand and ran it wonderingly over his brother's face, then down over his chest to pause over his heart before it continued down to wrap itself tightly around Sesshomaru's twitching length. His brother gasped, arcing into Inuyasha's touch; breathing hard he abruptly rolled them over again, his arms bracing him, his hands to either side of Inuyasha's head, and his hair falling around their faces. A surprised moan interrupted his gasping as Inuyasha slid his unoccupied hand down under his other one to cup Sesshomaru's balls, squeezing gently. The demon thrust against his brother's hands, the motion causing Inuyasha to press inside of him, and they both gasped. As Inuyasha worked his hands over his brother, Sesshomaru's arms fell out from under him and he collapsed to his elbows, shaking, pressing his face against the side of Inuyasha's neck and moaning. Eyes half-lidded in pleasure, Inuyasha turned and kissed Sesshomaru's ear, his hands kneading pleasure from the demon leaning over him as Sesshomaru's thrusting grew more intense.
His moaning gasps gaining passionate forcefulness, Sesshomaru dug his claws into the soft bedding beneath them desperately. He was exploding from the inside, fire licking over his skin, his muscles burning, he had to... he had to.... "Inuyasha," he murmured, "I..." But anything else he was going to say was lost in the cry that tore from him as his body stiffened and thrust one last time against those delicious hands, his seed spurting forth to scatter across Inuyasha's stomach. He felt his muscles clenching and he felt Inuyasha stiffen as well, felt his brother's seed coming inside of him. He glanced over at Inuyasha's face, seeing an ecstatic wonder there that mirrored his own. Sesshomaru kissed the corner of his brother's mouth softly, surprised when Inuyasha responded immediately, turning to claim a full kiss from Sesshomaru, bringing his arms up to throw them around his brother. Sesshomaru pulled himself free of Inuyasha, and then lay himself down along side his brother, an arm thrown around the half breed.
They lay together for a long time, Inuyasha stroking his fingers through his brother's hair, Sesshomaru breathing against the half breed's neck. Slowly, Inuyasha turned to his brother. "You're lying on my arm," he observed.
"Yes," Sesshomaru responded, not moving.
He narrowed his eyes. "It's falling asleep."
"Hmm," Sesshomaru said, still not moving. Inuyasha mumbled something about stupid demons and pushed Sesshomaru, pulling his arm out from under his brother's head. He turned on his side to sleep, but felt Sesshomaru's arms around him, pulling him closer so that his back was against his brother's chest. Sesshomaru pressed his face against Inuyasha's hair, inhaling deeply, then turned his head to gently nibble the edge of Inuyasha's ear.
"Hey! That tickles!" Inuyasha protested, swatting at his brother ineffectually, then taking Sesshomaru's hands and kissing both of his palms as he had earlier. He held Sesshomaru's wrist to his face and inhaled deeply, his brother's scent filling him, comforting him. "Sesshomaru," he asked softly.
"Unconditionally," he brother replied, his voice soft and sleepy as he flicked the edge of a blanket over them. Inuyasha smiled and, snuggling closer to his brother, soon fell asleep.
