A/N: Sorry its mainly a dialogue chapter. Not much content I’m afraid.
1. Balancing Equations
Kagome’s mom sat back down at the table to some more tea and opened up a book. She was happy
for Kagome, but at the same time she was concerned for her. Her focus returned to her book.
‘Death is a natural occurrence, an inevitability.’
‘There are two sides to this equation; good and evil, balance has to be achieved.’
‘Kagome has set some events into motion, events that cannot be changed, events that tip the balance
of the equation in her favor.’
‘Resistance is futile; if there is an uncontrollable variable Kagome will have Inu Yasha remove it.’
‘Inu Yasha is her primary factor; he is the solution to her problems.’
‘Death is a natural occurrence, its all in the timing.’
‘She had Inu Yasha, he’ll follow her through hell and back, Shippo was their pup, and she wouldn’t
endanger him. Miroku and Sango, they’ll help willingly. Kouga and Ayame, if Naraku has Ayame
Kouga will be sure to help. Sesshomaru, well… he protects Rin, to get to Sesshomaru go through
Rin, it was that simple. Sesshomaru can’t be manipulated directly though; he’s too smart for that. If
he get’s too smart Inu Yasha and her will just have to eliminate him, Inu Yasha wouldn’t need any
convincing for that deed. Hell, he’d probably ask her before she’d even suggest it.’
“Kagome, is there something on your mind?” Miroku asked.
“No, nothing,” she replied with her usual smile.
That smile holds so many secrets, it hides her true intentions and her darkest desires. She unfolded
her wings and decided to tell them that she’ll be living in this time now. Shippo jumped for joy now
knowing that he can be around his adoptive mother all the time. The bite mark on Kagome didn’t go
unnoticed by Sango, she’d have to talk with Kagome later. At this time Myouga decided to make his
appearance.
“I see Lord Inu Yasha has chosen a mate,” he said.
“Will she be living in this time or will the lord move to her time?”
“She will live here,” Inu Yasha said.
“I see, you could take the Western Lands from Sesshomaru.”
‘Hmm… maybe that was the answer to Sesshomaru, eliminate him and gain the Western Lands in
the process…
“No, we’ll build a home for use to live in by Inu Yasha’s tree,” Kagome spoke up.
Inu Yasha would gladly fight Sesshomaru for Kagome, but with her decision he could live with that
too. Shippo climbed onto Inu Yasha’s shoulder and stayed there as they began to walk back to the
village. They would need building materials if they were to have a house.
Myouga finally noticed the difference in Kagome (how could he miss the wings? I don’t know.),
“I’m glad my lord could find a mate who shares in him in so many ways. Kaede saw them
approaching.
Inu Yasha was pulled aside by Kaede, and Kagome by Sango.
“Great, so I’m building the house, I don’t know anything about manual labor…” Miroku muttered
to himself.
Miroku was able to get some help from the other villagers who began to haul wood and other
building supplies to the God Tree.
“Inu Yasha, did you lay Kikyo to rest?” Kaede asked stoically.
“Yes.”
“Was this of your own accord?”
“It was my long term decision.”
“Why then did you do it now?”
“Kagome wished it.” The answer rang out in his head, Kagome did love him, but she was also using
him to get what she wanted, he shrugged the thought away, at least he gets what he wants too.
“Be careful Inu Yasha, Kagome loves you indeed, but she is a succubus hanyou, and what she
wants, she will get…”
‘What have I gotten myself into… doesn’t matter I’ve got Kagome.’
Kaede sat down back to work on something, Inu Yasha didn’t give it much thought and left Kaede
to continue writing her book.
At the hot spring Kagome and Sango were relaxing.
“So Kagome, you’re now Inu Yasha’s mate?”
“Yes.”
“How will this affect our travels?”
“What do you mean?”
“Won’t Inu Yasha become overly protective?”
“No, he knows I’m a hanyou too so I can take care of myself, I promised him that.”
“So how is he?”
“What?!?” Kagome blushed.
“You know, is he rough?”
I’ve had him strapped down most of the time… I’ll have to try him without restraints. “I, I don’t
really know…”
“Huh? What do you mean you don’t know?”
“I’ve sort of been dominant over him.”
“Oh really? I couldn’t really see that happening.”
I have Sango, and its kinda kinky. “And what about you and Miroku?”
It was Sango’s turn to blush.
“We all know you enjoy it when he touches you, you’re just faking it to make us think differently.”
Sango and Kagome walked back chatting most of the time. They met up with Inu Yasha and Shippo
later. Miroku and the villagers who helped returned that evening.
“The house is done,” he said triumphantly.
“Well almost, it still has to be furnished, and we haven’t cleaned up the saw dust.”
“I know a village with an expert carpenter, he’ll make whatever you need, and he’s pretty cheap.”
“That reminds me,” Inu Yasha said. “What are we gonna do for money?”
“We’ll worry about that tomorrow,” Kagome said.
“That is, the night’s still young…” she said so softly only Inu Yasha could hear. He smiled, he had
gotten himself into something… something good.
