6: Vacation

�� He escorted her into the house after
they had finally made it there.� A quick
stop at a store after he had finished packing for them was all it took before
they reached this secluded and serenely beautiful house.� It was something that he had held onto from
his rule over the Western domain.

�� Kagome grinned and walked in with
the only bag that he had let her carry.�
She did, however, start to unpack and put away everything that he had
brought in quickly.

�� She felt so exhilarated and carefree
after she finished that she had tugged his hand and pulled him outside.

�Let�s
go walk around out here.� Come on.� Fresh, clean, sweet air is just what I want
and need, and I think you could use some too.��
Her exuberance rubbed off on him in a way that reminded him of his ward
from 500 years ago.� Rin had been just
like this but younger.

�� He nodded and walked with her.

�� As she walked with him, she began to
feel that familiar pull that pulsed through her body, calling her and wrapping
around her.� She knew that she should
know what it was.� It was so familiar,
reminding her of her youth in the feudal area.

�Sesshomaru?� I feel something.� I can�t explain it, but it is drawing me to it,� she said while
looking up at him for the answer to her unasked questions.

�� One perfect brow rose.� �What is it that could be pulling you?� Where is it coming from?�

�� At his questions, she began to walk
with the pull, allowing it to guide her every movement around branches and
bushes and rocks.� The midday sun was
waning and giving way to the lower light of early evening before she
stopped.� She had walked slowly and
carefully, taking her time.� Sesshomaru
merely followed and allowed her to dictate their extremely slow trek.� He could always get them back in a blink of
an eye.

�� He was certain what she was sensing
now.� There was only one thing out here.

�It�s
around here.� I can feel it.� It�s definitely a good vibe, but I still
cannot place where I have felt it before.�

�Hm.� Come.�
We will go back home.� I think
you have had enough excitement for one day and should get some rest.�

�� His arm went around her shoulders as
he escorted her away from what she had walked up to.� In the space of a heartbeat, he had hoisted her up into his arms
and took off toward the house at top speed.�

�� When they arrived in the garden in
the back just seconds later, she smiled up at him and cuddled closer to his
side as she walked into the kitchen with him.

She would just have to ignore the pull until
she could explore it, but she was not going to go anywhere until she discovered
what it was.� It was important to
her.� She couldn�t yet explain why, but
it was.

�I�m
hungry.� You?�� She looked up at him as she began to pull out a pot a couple of
pans.� She felt like cooking a nice size
supper since they had skipped lunch during their excursion.

�� He only nodded.

�You
sit right there while I get something cooked,� she said as she pointed to a
chair.

�� He sat quietly and watched as she
made up some rice and fish and a few other items.� He grinned as she started humming different little songs as she
cooked.� The thought entered his head
that he should keep her this way.

�� Kagome kept herself distracted until
she knew that she could go check out what had called to her.� It was all just a matter of time.� Although, she wasn�t sure how she would get
to go check it out on her own.� He
stayed with her and kept her with him at all times except for just a few times.� She could always remember her mother humming
while she did work.� She liked to keep
busy even while she wasn�t.

�� When the cooking was finished, and
they were sitting down, Kagome looked up at him and asked, �Do you know what
was calling to me or not?�

�� He coughed for just a second.� The wench could still unsettle him.� He had thought that she had just put it
behind her.� He was going to be honest
to a point.� �Yes.� I do know, but I am not going to tell you.�

�Why
not?!?� she demanded forcefully with a rather loud, animalistic growl that had
him grinning and wanting her submission at the same time.

�Because
I will not.�� He said this sternly and
did not allow for any arguments.�

�� Kagome huffed at him and glared down
at her plate for a bit.� Damn that dog
for treating her like that.� She would
find out whether he liked it or not.� If
this was how it was going to be, she would throttle him.� She had had it all the way down to the
proverbial knot in the rope with damn dogs and their refusal to just tell her
stuff.

�� She began to wonder exactly how she
would find out.

�I
guess I will just have to find out for myself, huh?�

�� He sighed.� How would he tell her that he had kept something like this from
her?

Kagome huffed and went up to bed as soon
as she had finished gathering up the dishes and let Sesshomaru load the dishwasher
that had been installed.

�� He walked in and saw her curled up
on the bed into a tight ball.� He knew
that she was in deep thought trying to figure out what could be out there.� He decided that he needed to soothe her.

�� He rubbed her back and began to
growl softly in a deep, gentle rumble.�
As he loved on her, she began to loosen up and respond, looking up at
him.� He nuzzled her neck-right where he
had placed his mark-and took in deep drags of her drugging scent.

�� In his own way, he guessed he was
showing her that he was sorry that he felt that he couldn�t tell her and that
she was upset.� An unhappy mate made for
a miserable time.� He also knew that
there wasn�t much he could do to make it better.� She was a curious person and would probably do everything that
she could to discover the source of the connection that she felt.

�� She pressed her lips to his and
stroked his shoulder.� She couldn�t be
mad at him.� Sesshomaru was a demon of
thought.� He put it into everything that
he did.� He also had his reasons for not
telling her, but she had to know.

�� The two stroked and kissed until he
pushing inside of her with a low, tortured groan.

�� He pushed in deep inside of her, and
started an agonizingly slow tempo that had her pushing her hips hard up into
his in a plea for more.� His pace began
frenzied only when she had whined and wrapped her legs around his waist and
pushed herself onto him with all the force that she could muster, pushing her
over the brink of her pleasure threshold.

�� She looked up at him as he curled up
around her in awe.

�� She would find out soon what it was
though.
