Kagome looked at the clock on her desk and sighed. She would have to go back to the Feudal Era in an hour or so. She sighed again and stood up. She figured she had better start packing so that she wouldn’t be late. InuYasha always bitched at her when she was late. She looked in the mirror, knowing that this could be the last time she would see herself with silver hair, gold eyes, and dog ears.
“Hurry up, will ya?” InuYasha said from his seat on her bed. “We’ve gotta get going, or we could miss the one thing that’ll turn us back to normal.” He had been pestering her for the last forty-five minutes and Kagome was getting tired of it.
“InuYasha, shut up,” Kagome said. She picked up her bag and went downstairs. She heard InuYasha grumbling behind her. Her family was out at a movie; she had already said goodbye. She was irritated with InuYasha, which was good because she had been irritated with him the last time she went back to the Feudal Era. Like last time, InuYasha piggybacked Kagome and jumped into the Well. The trip didn’t last anywhere near as long as last time, nor did her body tingle. Disappointment coursed through her, then she blacked out.

“I think she’s waking up,” Sango’s voice said from behind the darkness. It sounded far away. Kagome tried to open her eyes, but they were like lead. “How’s InuYasha doing?”
“He’s awake. His body seems to have suffered the least shock,” Miroku replied.
Kagome had the most intense feeling of déjà vu. She lifted her head and felt dizzy. The wind whipped her hair and a few black strands flew in front of her face. She froze. Her hair was black? She lunged to her backpack, her weak body trying to revolt against the sudden movement. She dug through her bag and found a mirror. There were her brown eyes. Her black hair. Her human ears, on the side of her head. She laughed and looked down at her hands: no claws. She ran her tongue over her teeth: no fangs. She laughed again. She glanced over at InuYasha, who was sitting up and looking himself over. He looked pleased. Kagome looked over at Sango, who was staring. The demon hunter blushed, and looked away. Kagome looked over herself again and was pleased to see that her breasts had not shrunk to their ordinary size. She fought down the urge to run her hands over them. Best of all, the insatiable heat was gone. She had no sexual desire. She looked at her friends and smiled.
“Glad to have you back to normal, Kagome,” Shippo said. “InuYasha, too.”
“Let’s go see Lady Kaede and let her know that your auras have been righted,” Miroku suggested. When they left, Kagome straggled behind with Sango.
“You okay?” she asked her friend.
“Yeah. You won’t like me anymore, now that you’re back to normal, will you?”
“I don’t know, Sango. But you have Miroku still. You two are in love. It doesn’t matter whether I’m attracted to you or not, as long as you have him.” Sango looked over at Kagome and smiled.
“You’re right, Kagome. Thanks.” She ran up to Miroku and surprised him by giving him a very passionate kiss. Kagome chuckled and knew that tonight it would be Miroku who would sneak into a forest clearing.

“Yes. It seems like the two of them are back to normal,” Kaede said. She removed the beads from Kagome and put them back around InuYasha’s neck. “The word?” she prompted
“Sit!” Kagome said, and InuYasha fell.
“I can honestly say I did not miss that,” he grumbled as he stood back up.
“I’d like to speak with Kagome alone, if you please,” Kaede said, ignoring the once-again hanyou. Everyone left but InuYasha. “You too.”
“Why?”
“Because what I have to say is for Kagome’s ears only. And I will know if you are eavesdropping, so you’d better go far enough away so that you won’t be tempted.” InuYasha grumbled but complied. After waiting a few moments, Kaede turned back to Kagome. “Was there ever a day you missed a dosage of that tea, Kagome?”
“No. No I don’t think s-“ Kagome stopped short. “Yes.” It was the night she had that threesome with InuYasha and Sesshomaru. She had been so tired that she collapsed into her sleeping bag with the promise she’d make some later. Later had ended up being the next morning. “Are you saying…?”
“Aye. You’re with child. Twins.”
“How can you know that?”
“I honed my spiritual energy long ago to sense it. I also can tell you each child has a different father.”
“InuYasha and Sesshomaru?”
Kaede didn’t reply. Kagome groaned.
“How long has it been since you conceived?”
“About a month. Do hanyou and youkai have the same gestation period as humans?”
“Both your children will be hanyou. Sesshomaru’s child will be a quarter human. InuYasha’s will be a quarter demon.”
“That doesn’t make sense.”
“You were half-demon when you conceived, and it will be that you pass on to them.”
“But you didn’t answer my question.”
“I would expect you to come to full term in five months’ time.”
“That should give us plenty of time to convince Koga to give us the last Jewel shards. I have to tell InuYasha. And Sesshomaru.”

“But—that stuff! The tea!” InuYasha shouted when Kagome told him that he would be a father.
“Don’t freak out. Not until I tell you the other part.”
“OTHER part?!”
“There are two babies. The other is Sesshomaru’s.”
“WHAT? BUT--!!!”
“InuYasha, SIT!” InuYasha fell face-first against the ground. Since his mouth had been open when Kagome Subjugated him, he swallowed quite a bit of dirt. “I know you’re freaked out. But it’s no big deal.”
“No big deal. Their sibling will be their COUSIN! If that doesn’t scream incest…”
“There wasn’t any incest and you know it InuYasha. Now you will find your brother and bring him here, got it? I need to tell him, too. In the meantime, Sango, you and Kirara go find Koga and see if you can bring him here, too, ok?” Sango nodded, and she jumped onto Kirara’s back.

“Koga, I need those shards. I can’t go around chasing you while I’m…” she stopped talking. Did she really want Koga to know? She sighed. It would be obvious soon enough “While I’m pregnant.”
“Pregnant? Is it?”
“No. It’s InuYasha’s.” Koga pouted. “Koga, the Shards?”
“I suppose,” he said. He pulled the shards out of his legs and handed them to Kagome, who fused them with the rest of the Shards, making the complete Jewel. She closed her eyes and made her wish. The Jewel disappeared from her hands and Miroku gasped. He took the prayer beads off his hand and looked. There was no Wind Tunnel.
“Kagome, what did you wish for?”
“For the Jewel and Naraku to disappear forever.”

An hour later, Koga was gone and Sesshomaru was in front of Kagome. She didn’t know where to start or what to say. Every time she opened her mouth, she would change her mind.
“Foolish girl, if you don’t tell me this ‘important thing’ you sent my stupid half-brother to fetch me for, then I will leave.”
“Don’t! Sesshomaru, I am with child. Twins.”
“And they are mine.” It was not a question.
“One of them is.” Sesshomaru quirked a questioning eyebrow; his face was otherwise calm. “I don’t fully understand, either. But you and InuYasha are the fathers of my children. You don’t need to raise yours. I’m not even sure I’ll know which one is yours.”
“You’ll know. And I will help raise it. Rin has always wanted a younger brother or sister. It can live with you and InuYasha, but I want to visit as often as I can.”
“Of course.”
With that, Sesshomaru rose and went to find Rin and Jaken to tell Rin of her younger sibling-to-be.
