Nearly a month into Sesshoumaru's choice of permanently staying with Inuyasha found the hanyou wondering if he had been insane for allowing it, or just insane for loving the dammed demon Lord. At the moment he was just thinking everything was insane. Not that his mood helped any. He was dealing with his kid complaining about it being too cold for her to run to school. Telling her she was a youkai and cold wouldn't affect her, plus she could get there in less than 5 min. by foot, when it would take them 20 min. by car wasn't working. Truth of the matter was she wanted to make a big entrance with her father bringing her to school. Problem was Sesshoumaru was too busy directing the men that where building the addition he was putting in the cabin. Which by the way was much much bigger than he'd first told Inuyasha, and was another thing the hanyou was mad at him for.

“Why do I have to run to school every freaking day when there's two cars now... And one of you can drive me? People are starting to talk daddy... Isn't that something you don't want... For them to talk?” Emily said giving her daddy an innocently pouty smile. Inuyasha just rolled his eyes, and grumbled something in Japanese that she didn't want to understand. He hadn't taught her all of the 'bad' words, and she wasn't sure she wanted to know them.

“SESSHOUMARU!” Inuyasha growled out loudly stomping over to the construction area. He hadn't even finished setting his first foot into the construction area when said called demon rushed over, picked him up and put him back into the 'safe' area of main side of the cabin. Inuyasha just growled again, and smacked him so he could be put down. “What the fuck are you doing?! I'm not fucking made of glass!! Put me down! I ain't some woman!!!” He growled out loudly until finally the demon lord put him down.

“I have told you for a week hanyou. You will not come into that area. It is dangerous and I will not have anything happen to the growing, delicate pup while the healer is still not here.” Sesshoumaru said calmly, taking the advantage of being pulled away to go take a drink. “Why is our daughter still not heading to school?” He asked.

“First of all, nothing is gonna happen! Second, you're over protectiveness was cute the first week you thought I was pregnant but now it's getting annoying! Third, she wants one us to drive her to school.” Inuyasha said looking to Sesshoumaru. “She's dragged her heels in and she won't budge so I don't know what you're gonna do. I would have taken her already, but 'you' won't let me drive. You also don't wanna leave me alone... So...” He said calmly, giving Sesshoumaru a smirking, teasing look.

Sesshoumaru was clearly left thinking, looking over to his daughter who was standing by the doorway with her backpack looking to him with those big amber eyes of hers that where pleading silently for him to take her. He just sighed mentally, while looking his normal stoic, cold self and just knew he had no choice.

“Fine... We will take her. But you are not driving, and we will drive carefully.” Sesshoumaru said leading Inuyasha out the door, on the way he grabbed the hanyou a huge, thick fur coat made of a youkai bear he'd killed just a few years ago in Japan. After making sure his hanyou was properly protected from the cold, only then did he allow said hanyou outside. Inuyasha just growled softly under his breath about how he knew this was going to get much much worse later on.

“You're fucking going insane you know that... I'm pregnant... Not dying... I've done this before... Alone... And nothing happened...” Inuyasha said growling as he got buckled into the car. “For god's sake! I can buckle myself in Sesshoumaru!” Inuyasha growled out, giving him mate a look. Sesshoumaru of course didn't answer, and didn't care how much Inuyasha growled. He hardly ever did when he thought he was just doing his duty protecting his pregnant mate. Deep down Inuyasha knew he was luckily. At least he was being let out at all. Though the way Sesshoumaru was going he might lock him up later on. He wasn't sure of the demon's sanity anymore.

Sesshoumaru finally started the car, and once Emily was inside and buckled in as well, They headed off to her school. The girl was happy. Hell she was ecstatic. This was the first time she was going to show up at her school, with both her parents actually driving her. She knew she'd have to say that her father was her dad's boyfriend, but she didn't care. Cause the few true youkai friends she did have at the school would know exactly who her father was. The fox magic spell on their charms only kept youkai appearances from human blood, not other youkai.

That had been set in place by the youkai council 3 centuries ago when humans started truly multiplying, and demons decided it would be less of a hassle than constantly being at war with them. In the end it had worked out very well. The intelligent, powerful youkai had managed to control most of the human forming enterprises. So by the time the 20^th century rolled around, youkai controlled a lot of the mega corporations around the world, they still held most of the power in the world. It just wasn't the same type of power as in the feudal era. Though to control youkai kind, Lords like Sesshoumaru still had to have their major youkai power. Strength and killing force still counted to demons when it came down to it.

Every time a new youkai baby was born he/she was given a new spell charm. Inuyasha had called on his adopted son when he had needed it for Emily. He knew he'd have to call on him again when this latest one was born. IF it was born. He still hadn't gone through the first new moon with this pregnancy, In fact it was tonight... And he was scared stiff... He couldn't imagine how Sesshoumaru would react if he shifted to human form. He knew that was why the demon lord still hadn't called the healer. He was waiting for this mile stone to pass. They both knew if there was anything wrong with the pup or the pregnancy, there was a chance his body would shift since it could consider the pregnancy not viable. Though Sesshoumaru did keep saying he sensed great power from the growing pup, Inuyasha could tell he was still worried about the coming moonless night.

“Inuyasha!” The hanyou heard say in the car, he snapped out of it and looked over to the driver's side... There was nothing there... He looked to the side and finally saw Sesshoumaru holding the door open for him. Emily waiting besides her father. “Are you alright?” Sesshoumaru asked him with worry hidden under his cold tone. Inuyasha picked it up though. He'd been too long with the demon Lord. He could tell, so he smiled.

“Fine... Just thinking...” Inuyasha said getting out of the car. “Why are we getting out?” He asked curiously.

“Our daughter wants you to add me to her documents here at school, and introduce me to her teachers. I would say it is about time that we did that. Don't you?” Sesshoumaru said calmly walking closely besides Inuyasha when he saw several youkai coming and dropping off their young at the school. “I was not aware there were this many youkai in the area.” Sesshoumaru said. “Why have I not smelled them before?”

“You don't come to the village... And they all live far away from us... So it don't really matter. They don't bother me, and I don't bother them. We're all here cause we wanna live in peace Sesshoumaru... Nobody wants any trouble.” Inuyasha said in a low tone so the humans wouldn't hear. He pulled Sesshoumaru to him into the school. “Stop starring you're gonna scare them... They're low level, just leave 'em alone.” Inuyasha said sighing, and thanking god when Sesshoumaru finally stopped and followed him and Emily into the hallways of the school. The kids just starred at both of them like deer caught in headlights. Sesshoumaru was attracting the most attention since most of the kids already knew Inuyasha. In human circles Sesshoumaru was one of the most famous and popular leaders of business. He was also one of the most wealthy men in the world. Inuyasha wasn't really surprised that some of the teens knew him and where spreading the news that he was at their school.

Emily just looked very very happy, and grabbed her father's arm as they walked into the main office. Inuyasha unfortunately couldn't go very far from them. He had no choice but to stay near his mate and pup, because Sesshoumaru was keeping a very good eye on him. He thought he'd be able to sneak away for a second and talk to Emily's teacher alone. But it didn't look possible. He was worried Sesshoumaru would scare the man, and then he'd never get the truth about how his daughter was doing with her behavior.

“Inuyasha...” Sesshoumaru said looking to the hanyou with a knowing eye. “What ever or who ever it is you wish to speak too, will have to wait. Come...” The demon Lord said with a small smirk.

Inuyasha sighed looking to Sesshoumaru. “Just... Can you for once in your life try not to scare anyone... Please?! I'm fucking begging here, okay...” Inuyasha said giving his mate a strong look. Sesshoumaru just raised an eyebrow.

“You speak as if I actively try and scare everyone around me. How people react to me is completely out of my control Inuyasha.” Sesshoumaru said with a very sure stoic tone as Inuyasha just gave a “Keh!” and walked into the office. After a long while and a signing of papers Sesshoumaru was added to his daughter's school records as her second father, and he could officially pick her up, and attend parent/teacher conferences instead of him. Inuyasha ignored the looks this brought. He was completely used to it by now. The human women started talking softly among themselves... Something about 'it's always the good looking ones.' Inuyasha just stifled a laugh and pulled Sesshoumaru out.

“Yay!” Emily said clapping happily and then giving a kiss to both her parents.

“Glad you're happy, now go to class.” Inuyasha said with a smirk, and watched his daughter nod and run off after kissing them both. Her school friends saw her finally leaving the two and rushed her seeking answers. Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru saw she was quite happy and full of pride answering their questions. “Ya know in a year or two she won't want to be seen with either of us...” He said with a laugh. Sesshoumaru smirked and tried to wrap an arm around his mate, but Inuyasha hurried towards the school doors. “Come on. I'm hungry...” Inuyasha said grabbing his mate and pulling him out of the school.

“Were we not going to speak to her teachers...?” Sesshoumaru asked with a raised eyebrow. “I sense a distrust in you hanyou.” Sesshoumaru added watching his mate walk to the car while he stood still a few steps away with a cold, emotionless expression.

“Most of her teachers are human... But one of them is a rabbit youkai.. very low level... I know you... You're gonna scare him half to death. Then I’ll never get answers and he's the one I trust the most out of all her teachers to tell me the truth about what she does.” Inuyasha said with a low growl as he opened the car to get in before Sesshoumaru dragged him inside again to get his way. “Besides classes are starting now... And I’m not kidding, Sesshoumaru. I'm starving... So get your royal ass in the car and drive me the fuck home! NOW!” Inuyasha said growling as he got into the passenger's seat and slammed the door. Leaving Sesshoumaru outside with a raised eyebrow wondering how or why his mate's mood had shifted so suddenly. The demon knew he'd have to read up on behavior and things during pregnancies. Now he realized he might wish to do that faster than previously thought.

“Why are you worried about her teachers not telling you the truth?” Sesshoumaru finally getting into the car's passenger seat, and asking while keeping his tone neutral as he spoke. It wouldn't do any good for him to get angry at his mate over his current mood. It would only make Inuyasha worse, and he knew he couldn't have that. He had a feeling the pregnancy was going to be a testing ground for his patience. So the testing might as well start now.

“Cause your daughter likes to make everyone believe she's a saint that wouldn't harm a hair on anyone's head. But she ain't... And the rabbit demon is the only one the entire fucking school that sees through her. He knows to call me and tell me if she does anything she ain't supposed too.” Inuyasha said trying to calm down. He had no idea why he'd gotten so mad, and he didn't like it. With Emily mood swings didn't start this fast. It couldn't be mood swings already. Then again, with Emily he was alone, and didn't have anyone to mood swing with... This time around Sesshoumaru was in the picture, and he had a teenage daughter. Gods, he was screwed.... Royally... Screwed! He almost felt sorry for Sesshoumaru, Almost... Then he remembered it was his fucking fault, and he felt better about it.

“I like how you're getting in the habit of making her only mine when she does something you do not like.” Sesshoumaru said again with a neutral tone that had a hint of amusement under it. Inuyasha looked to Sesshoumaru with a raised eyebrow and just rolled his eyes. “Very fucking funny...I'd tell you 'fuck you' but that's how I ended up in this mess...” The hanyou said slumping against the seat.

“What has she done?” Sesshoumaru asked while mentally chuckling about it all, figuring it had to be bad if Inuyasha was keeping track of her this much. He was almost happy that his little girl was giving Inuyasha this much trouble. It almost gave him pride.

“Almost killed one of her classmates...” Inuyasha said sighing. “If it had been a demon or something I would have been able to deal with it. But she's hell bent on getting back at this human girl.... Kristy... something or other... I don't know why the fuck she hates the girl so much... But it's getting annoying... I swear... I told her to just fucking forget it and forget the girl. But she won't.” Inuyasha said.

Sesshoumaru just chuckled softly under his breath. “Inuyasha she will not do so easily.... But I will speak to her tonight and see if I can help her.” Sesshoumaru said just amused that the hanyou had apparently not seeing that Emily was experiencing one of his character traits. But of course killing a teenage human girl brought more trouble than the girl was worth. Sesshoumaru would have to make his daughter see that.

“Fucking god.... She gets it from you don't she...” Inuyasha said blinking and looking to Sesshoumaru. “I must be fucking blind to not see it before... Of course, you're the one that can't let something go! Heaven forbid anyone touch your stuff. You better fucking hope this kid takes more after me cause I don't know where the hell we're gonna hide if another one like you comes along. Human race is fucking doomed if that happens.” Inuyasha said with a snort and a laugh as they got home. He couldn't help but laugh at how fucked up he was. Sesshoumaru was going to be the death of him. Which was funny and appropriate he guessed cause the dammed bastard always did say no one could kill him but him. So he supposed all this was Karma.

“Surely I’m not all that bad Inuyasha.” Sesshoumaru said leaning over the to him, pulling the hanyou over, and giving him a passion filled, amazing kiss. Inuyasha responded immediately, no matter his mood he couldn’t help himself when Sesshoumaru kissed him like that. It was hot... Smoldering hot... His very skin felt instantly on fire as he felt Sesshoumaru's tongue battle his. Hands darted over his clothes inside the car. The hanyou moaned. When the kiss stopped Inuyasha gave the demon lord a smirk. “You're worse...” Inuyasha said with laugh and got out of the car.

Sesshoumaru smirked evilly.. But before he could think of much else he heard Inuyasha call him and he was out of the car like a bolt of white lightning. He was almost instantly at his mate's side, wrapping his arm around him and pulling him to his body protecting him. He studied the scents around them and looked to the cabin. There was a strange scent near by. One that seemed familiar... But one that he had not smelled in a long , long time... The name and the face escaped his memory. He moved Inuyasha behind him, almost completely covering him with his boa fur.

“Who is it?” Inuyasha asked from behind his mate. Part of him wanted to rush into the house and attack who ever was there, but he knew better than to do that with his current 'problem'.... And besides Sesshoumaru wouldn't let him.

“I am not sure. Stay closely behind me.” Sesshoumaru said with a strict ordering tone as they went closer to the house. When they were almost at the porch an older looking inu male stood and bowed to Sesshoumaru.

“My Lord. I am here as you requested.” The male said respectfully. Sesshoumaru stood there like iron, looking to the old inu with eyes that could kill. The second he truly saw him he knew who he was. His castle's old healer. He hadn't needed him in centuries. With reason he had forgotten about him. He also hadn't been to his castle in centuries... Part of him wondered how it was even standing... But then again his servants kept it going he supposed... He truly didn't even care anymore. Of course when he went back to Japan he would be expected to stay there, present proper court to the other youkai lords. Gods he was going to hate that with a passion. Such antiquated nonsense that he hated even in the feudal era; And then they wondered why he traveled so much. He would come up with practically any excuse to get out of that annoyingly boring court life.

“I told you I would send for you when I was ready to do so... Why are you here early... and without advising me!” Sesshoumaru said with a tone cold as ice. Inuyasha tried to peek out from behind him, But he found Sesshoumaru grip firm and unmoving. He couldn't even budge an arm on the demon. He growled loudly, but Sesshoumaru didn't let him move. Leaving Inuyasha to wonder what it was that was making Sesshoumaru distrustful.

“My Lord... you told me you had taken a mate and that he was with child.... Your mate needs me my lord... I could not very well let the future heir of the west go without medical attention, my Lord. I am still your family's healer.” The old inu said with a calm gentle look. “I take it that is him growling? Sounds like a spunky one sire.” He said with a pleased tone. Here he'd thought his lord would never settle down. He could smell the pregnancy the moment they got close. At first when the car pulled up all he could smell was his lord. Sesshoumaru's scent over rode almost everything else. He had made sure all youkai around knew this was his territory. Inuyasha's hanyou scent would be indistinguishable from Sesshoumaru's to all but the most sensitive of noses, and well the healer was too old for such things. But now he did smell the sweet, natural aroma of a pregnancy. His healing powers allowed him to sense the growing pup's youki. He was very happy with what he picked up so far. It was indeed his lord's pup, the power was unmistakable.

“It is...” Sesshoumaru said watching the old healer, who knew very well not to come any closer. He could tell his master was gauging whether to trust him, or kill him, so he stayed very still. “Do not move or I will sever your head from your shoulders.” Sesshoumaru said as he moved Inuyasha to his side, made sure his fur covered him from view and moved him into the house.

“Why all the covering Sess...?” Inuyasha asked as Sesshoumaru practically dragged him into the bedroom. It was only once they where in there and with the curtains closed that he let Inuyasha out of his fur and then looked to his mate.

“That healer has never disobeyed in his life...” Sesshoumaru said looking at Inuyasha and coming closer to him again. He gently took Inuyasha into his arms, and kissed his forehead.

“So you think he's here to hurt me?” Inuyasha asked sounding worried, and already defensive. He couldn't help but curl up around his abdomen and just hide his front into Sesshoumaru. Instinct making him protect his pup.

“I do not know... He does not know who my mate is, and has never shown any traitorous notions towards me. Harming my mate would be his death. He knows that well. But still... I do not know why he disobeyed...” Sesshoumaru said wrapping his arms around Inuyasha and just inhaling that piney, sweet scent that was his inu pregnant. To him it was the best scent in the world.

“Well... is it true that you called and told him about me and the baby?” Inuyasha asked looking up to his mate trying to see if he was just over reacting or if there was something to this. “If you don't want him here we can just call Kouga and have him send us one of his healers... They've treated me before and they've always been good.” Inuyasha said.

“You trust the wolf pack... True...” Sesshoumaru said calming down. “Why I have no idea. They're nothing but idiotic, animalistic youkai, and they stink...”

“They're my friends! And they've been that for centuries! Can we not start this..? I trust them... What else matters?” Inuyasha said giving Sesshoumaru the look that meant 'Don't open that can buddy..'. Sesshoumaru looked once again to his mate and rolled his eyes.

“Fine... You can call them later in the evening, and see what the wolf lord says.” Sesshoumaru said. “For now let's go deal with the healer we have now.” He said hatting the fact that he had to let go of Inuyasha.

“So, you trust him enough to allow him around me?” Inuyasha asked looking up to his mate questioningly.

“For now... yes...” Sesshoumaru said reluctantly, and allowed Inuyasha up. “But you will not be alone with him.” He added.

“Keh! I haven't been 'alone' with anyone but you for a month now! I wasn't expecting that to change any time soon.” Inuyasha said with a laugh as he got up and headed out the door with his mate. Once back outside Sesshoumaru looked to the old healer. Inuyasha peeked out from behind him, giving the old thing a look. He didn't look fucking dangerous... He didn't know what the hell Sesshoumaru was worried about. “I'm gonna go call Kouga. I'll be right in here kay... Can I do that?” Inuyasha asked sarcastically. Sesshoumaru nodded and watched the hanyou go over to the computer in the living room to make his call.

The demon lord looked to the healer, who was looking towards Inuyasha with a shocked expression. “I will tell you this once, and only once, old thing... Your life means nothing to me... But he is my mate... And he carries my second child... Anything you do to him will be watched and monitored. Anything happens to him or my future pup, and you will beg me to kill you. Is that understood!” Sesshoumaru said with a tone that only his worst enemies heard. That tone that made people pee their pants, and go speechless. That tone that used to make his old retainer just shiver and start to babble for forgiveness.

The healer did pretty much the same. “Of course... My Lord.... I would never.... My lord, I am here but to serve you. I have always been loyal to you my lord...” The healer said quickly.

“Why did you look at my mate the way you did?!” Sesshoumaru said, because he could be many things, but stupid or blind was never one of them, and that look was the one youkai used towards hanyou when they wanted them erased from the world. He should know, he probably used it many times.

“I was... surprised. My lord I did not know he still walked this earth... Let alone that you … that you had taken him as a mate, or that he was capable of birthing you heirs...” The healer said quickly. “I promise you my lord I will never fail you. If he is important to you, he is important to me.” He said bowing very respectfully. Sesshoumaru just 'hn' and walked back into the house.

“You will stay in the guest room on that side of the house. You will not come near my mate unless I allow it. Is that clear?!” Sesshoumaru said and turned to look at the healer.

“Yes, my lord!” The healer said once again bowing. He looked over to the hanyou on the computer. Inuyasha got up with a big smirk and came over to Sesshoumaru.

“Kouga said it's about time for you to make this proper, and he says he'll send over his best healer immediately. He says the lady is a bit shy, but she's the best, and has never lost a pup or a birther; And if Kouga trusts her with his mate then that's good enough for me.” Inuyasha said and looked to the guy, giving him a once over. He wasn't sure what to make of him yet; And Sesshoumaru wasn't any help cause he wasn't trusting anyone.

“Fine... He can stay until your healer arrives. After that I will deal with him.” Sesshoumaru said and wrapped his arm around Inuyasha pulling him to the kitchen. “You said you where hungry.” Sesshoumaru said with a small smirk.

“Yeah, starving... With all this crap I didn't get a chance.” Inuyasha said with a big happy smile when he got to the fridge, opened it and pulled out all the ingredients for a mega mammoth sandwich. He started piling the stuff on, and then sat down to eat while Sesshoumaru just sat down for a light snack. The rest of the day went on pretty much as normal. When Emily got home Sesshoumaru sat down with her in her room. Speaking very truthfully about why she shouldn't harm her classmates, and what trouble that could bring for her parents, and herself if she did so. He spoke to her about how she had to be extra good if she wanted her sibling born healthy and her daddy happy. Which of course she did. She wanted a sibling badly, always had; and now that she was going to get one she was going to mess up. So she reluctantly agreed with her father and promised not to kill the girl. Sesshoumaru though saw how sad she got at not being able to get her revenge.

“You realize there are 'other' things you may do that do not involve physical punishment...” Sesshoumaru said, knowing that if Inuyasha caught him giving their daughter this kind of advice he'd probably be sleeping on the couch for more than a month. Of course Inuyasha was very busy eating the kitchen. From his vantage point Sesshoumaru could see him perfectly. He was still at the kitchen island, just stuffing himself. The demon lord couldn't help but smirk.

Emily looked up to her father and her eyes glimmered with happiness. “So.... I can... 'do' other things?” She said with a happy smirk when Sesshoumaru nodded.

“Just no physical punishment. If you think the girl deserves it, I trust you and she probably does.” Sesshoumaru said calmly as Emily hugged him.

“You're the best.” Emily said with more giggles. Sesshoumaru could have sworn he heard his evil in her giggles. But thought it best not to linger in that idea.

“You will still be good young one. It will not do for all this to come back to your birther and give him a heart attack.” Sesshoumaru said with a proud smirk as he looked to her.

“Kay. I know... I'll be sooo good he'll think i've turned into a saint.” Emily said with a big smirk. Sesshoumaru mentally chuckled as he watched her. Inuyasha was right. The world was in such danger with her around. She could be even worse than he was. She looked like an angel and yet he could pick up his worst traits in her. Inuyasha was going to kill him, but he couldn't help but be proud. She had gotten his evil, and Inuyasha's innocent child like look. She would be very good running his companies one day, Sesshoumaru could tell that.

“Hn... Yes, you might wish to be a little less saintly than that little one. Your birther knows you well. If you're too good he'll know something is wrong.” Sesshoumaru explained with a small barely there chuckle. Emily blinked and thought about that for a moment.

“Hmmm... Soo, I have to be good enough to not give him headaches, but not soo good that he'll think something's up... Got it. I think I can do that.” Emily said looking up to her father. Sesshoumaru looked to her with pride and gave her a ghostly smile as he leaned up and kissed her forehead.

“Good, Make sure you finish your homework.” Sesshoumaru said with a calm, less stoic, cold tone for his only daughter as he got up and headed to the door.

“Kay.” Emily said with a smile and started on that. All the while the old healer sat in a corner of the living room. Not allowed to speak, he just watched Inuyasha from afar. Sesshoumaru went over and hovered over the hanyou like a protective mate after kissing his mate. When Emily had come home the old healer was more than shocked that such a powerful little inu lady came out of the hanyou. He could tell that she had pulled towards his lord, and thanked Kami for that. It meant she would be safe.

He watched the family for the rest of the day, until he was ordered to retire to the guest room, and was after wards locked into it by Sesshoumaru. As dusk began to fall Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru retired to the master bedroom. Inuyasha sat silently on the bed. But after a while he couldn't take it anymore and went off to the bathtub...
