Sesshomaru’s Castle:
Daisuke was not sure what to expect during this second visit with his Lord and his brother. The healer was listing all the things not to do with the siblings in his head.
Do not get between them. Do not say anything remotely sounding like a challenge. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES what-so-ever TOUCH Sesshomaru (he should probably extend that to Inuyasha, just in case). Attempt to keep both calm at all costs. Don’t piss them off.
His only hope now was that this time, the young hanyou had more control of himself. Knocking softly, Daisuke entered then froze, stunned.
Inuyasha was clinging like a monkey to his Lord’s back, legs locked around his waist and appeared to have him in some sort of choke hold. On his part, Sesshomaru was gripping the younger man’s arms preventing him from actually choking him and… laughing. LAUGHING? But his Lord never laughed.
Daisuke didn’t know what astonished him the most. The fact that Inuyasha had the guts to do what no one else EVER even considered or that Lord Sesshomaru had LET him and was laughing about it. Well that and the fact they were both yelling (well one was yelling, the other was yelling while laughing).
“Take it BACK!”
“You said it about me first!”
“TAKE IT BACK!”
“I will NOT! You are sooo cut… ahhh…SHIT!” His Lord replied with a snicker, which then turned into a moan.
Well, it seemed Inuyasha had changed his tactics from brute force to seduction. Licking the outer edge of Sesshomaru’s ear and sliding a hand into his kimono. A bite to his neck made Sesshomaru’s legs buckle so they dropped to the bed. Wow, truthfully Daisuke didn’t think that Inuyasha had it in him to strategize and… Shaking his head to clear those thoughts, he loudly cleared his throat.
“Ah-hem.”
Twin sets of golden eyes snapped in his direction, glaring hotly. Oh boy, Daisuke looked anywhere but at the two brothers’, because he was pretty sure his eyes were still huge. That probably wouldn’t disappear for a while, the actions of the two youkai was now permanently burned into his brain.
There were two thoughts in his head, laugh or flee.
“Heh, Heh, Heh…” Oh Gods, laugh it was.
Trying to snuffle his chuckles, Daisuke stared at the ceiling. Yeah, this wasn’t going to go well at all, his willpower was not that strong. Alright, think of anything but what he had seen. Calling up the most horrific image that he could think of… Ahh, why did it have to be Lord Sesshomaru’s mother? He almost shuddered, she was scary crazy.
Inuyasha sat with his chin on Sesshomaru’s shoulder and gazed at the healer dispassionately, though he didn’t remove his hand from inside the kimono.
“Inuyasha seems to think you have some information concerning us.” Sesshomaru stated bluntly.
Daisuke closed his eyes and swore to himself. Once he had learned of Inuyasha’s spiritual power he should have known he couldn’t hide anything. Idly, he wondered if his Lord would kill him. The news he was about to impart was going to shock both brothers’, but it couldn’t be helped.
“Why would you think that?” The healer asked softly, gazing at Inuyasha intently.
“No clue.” The young man said sheepishly, shrugging his shoulders.
“Ahh… Well then, I do know a couple of interesting things. I do not know however, how both of you will take the news. So I am a bit apprehensive about saying anything.”
“Fuck, you’re actually making it worse. Just spit it out already!” Inuyasha snarled.
Sighing Daisuke spoke, “Lord Sesshomaru’s illness was something that even the most dedicated healer’s in the land could not figure out how to fix. But you, Lord Inuyasha apparently cured Lord Sesshomaru almost as soon as you arrived it seems, though nobody knows why. The only thing I can come up with is… you did not wish to see your brother in pain and so the spiritual power you possess was triggered.”
“I told you already, DON’T call me Lord. Plus you’re wrong. I don’t have that kind of power. If I did don’t you think I would have used it in past battles? I’m nothing special.” Inuyasha said softly, while hiding his face in Sesshomaru’s back.
Sesshomaru’s heart hurt at those words. His little brother was so much more than he thought. Conveying that to him though was simply impossible.
~Yes, you do have that kind of power and you are totally uniquely special.~
“WHAT!?” Inuyasha yelled. Sess and Daisuke both looked at him in confusion, but he ignored them both to better concentrate on what his youkai was telling him.
~You are the perfect combination of demon and human. Both of us are superbly balanced in strength. We are apparently equal in all ways. Never has this been heard of before, so we both do not know what will happen. Only that we use our powers differently. We discuss who is better to deal with any given situation and let the one with more knowledge take over, though we are both still working together.~
“What do you mean by we?”
~Umm, he means me. Sorry?!~ Came a small voice.
“Oh Gods, do you mean I now have to deal with two of you? Son of a FUCKING BITCH! I can’t deal with this SHIT! Can anyone tell me why it’s always ME? Why do I have to deal with so much more than anyone else? I am… so tired…” Inuyasha hugged Sess tightly while trying to not to cry.
“Yasha? What is wrong?” Sesshomaru asked while pulling his brother onto his lap. Embracing him tightly he murmured, “It is alright, otouto. We will fix whatever is wrong… Please do not cry... Please.”
Daisuke stared in wonder. He had never seen his Lord act in such a manner, trying to comfort instead of taking advantage of the situation. Lord Sesshomaru face also seemed to be in pain as he held his younger brother while stroking his hair.
“Sess… I…” Inuyasha whimpered.
“Shh, I am here. You are now mine and I will NEVER let you go. Whatever it is, we will deal with it together.”
Inuyasha clung tightly to Sesshomaru as he tried to process what was going on.
~Really, sorry. I don’t know why I’ve become stronger all of a sudden, but I won’t hurt you. I will always help in any way I can, so you can be happy. You don’t have enough of the happy. Youkai agrees with me, so don’t worry so much. You and your brother are perfect for each other, that’s why I manufactured the dreams. To get the two of you together. I don’t like the miko, she is manipulative and always jealous. She does not understand us, thinks were freaks because we don’t want to do THAT with her.~
~But who would? I mean really, what the fuck? I am seriously gonna puke. Stupid bitch!~
“Alright, just shut up already. I get it, I get it, you don’t like Kagome. Wait a minute… did you send the dreams to Sess too?” Inuyasha asked incredulously.
~Umm, maybe I did, maybe I didn’t…?!~
~And you think I’m bad? HAH!~
“Holy shit!”
“Yasha?” Sesshomaru cut in, “Could you kindly explain who you are talking too?”
Inuyasha whispered, “Apparently I have not only my youkai talking to me now, the human in me has also gained a voice. Isn’t that awesome?” The last was said sarcastically.
“Oh…” was the only response that Sesshomaru could come up with. He had enough trouble dealing with his own youkai, if he were to find out that now he would have to deal with two of them in his head he wasn’t sure what he would do.
“It’s OK. I’ll learn to deal, but MAN why is it always me who has to deal with this crap? I am such a freak!”
“So, who sent me the dreams?” Sesshomaru asked.
Inuyasha snorted, “Caught that did you? Apparently my human half set us up. He thinks you’re hot.”
~I never said that!~
~You didn’t need to, everyone already knows he is a God among demons.~
~Is that so? I’ve never heard that. You making it up, aren’t you?~
~Where in the hell have you been? It’s a known fact! You KNOW you want him too.~
~I’ll give you that he’s good looking but that’s all.~
~That’s ALL, are you an idiot? Seriously, I think you’ve gone insane! You can’t deny it, I feel what you feel remember? You want him bad!~
Inuyasha put his head in his hands and groaned.
“Yasha? Are you alright?” The daiyoukai asked, concerned.
“No… No, I’m not alright. My two other halves are arguing about how hot you are! What the fuck is up with that? Can’t you bastard’s argue quietly without involving me?”
~Oh yeah, sorry.~
~Me too, really. I apologize.~
“I really don’t want to deal with this right now…” Inuyasha trailed off because he caught sight of Sess’s face. His brother had turned bright red. “How is it that every time you blush you seem cuter?”
Well that comment effectively tripled Sesshomaru’s embarrassment. Daisuke almost smiled at the interaction between the two brothers’. Inuyasha was going to be good for Lord Sesshomaru. He needed someone with who he could completely let down his guard and it looked like InuTaisho was right about it being the younger Inu demon.
“You are in no way a freak Inuyasha, not with InuTaisho’s blood flowing through your veins. The young demon who defeated Naraku, who collected all the shards of the Shikon Jewel and the Gods’ only know what happened when you were even younger and couldn’t properly protect yourself.” Daisuke flicked a glance at his Lord’s face upon finishing that sentence.
Damn if looks could kill, he would most definitely be dead. Unfortunately it was the truth, who really knew what the inexperienced youth had needed to deal with and overcome? Daisuke knew that a time was coming that Inuyasha would let some things be known but he seriously doubted that he would tell all. He had purposely said what he did to try to prepare his Lord for what was coming. The healer only hoped that it wasn’t so bad as to break Lord Sesshomaru’s heart. Who knows what had happened at his stubborn indifference.
Continuing, the healer said, “Seriously, it would have been weirder if something like this wouldn’t have happened. Your Father truly had a royal blood line and combined with your mother’s blood, it is something that is unheard of. Your power is very strong but as of now, instinctual.”
“Fine, but I didn’t want Sess in the beginning. In fact, I found him to be a gigantic pain in the ass!” Daisuke and Inuyasha both looked to Sesshomaru when they heard him growl. Smirking, he continued, “My human half manufactured the dreams, then sent them to Sess too. How do you explain that?”
“From what I can gather after hearing your one-sided conversations, your youkai intensely despises Kagome. That hatred probably affected your human half and seeing what the miko was truly like, conjured and sent the dreams. Because apparently, your other halves want your happiness above all and will do everything within their power to make it come true. Really, you are much more than you know.” Daisuke said quietly.
~Wow, he’s scary good!~
~Yeah, that was pretty much spot on.~
Golden eyes rolled at the added comments, “Then, what about the healing? Does that mean I have to stay close in order for it to work or is it a permanent fix?”
“As to that, we will just have to wait and see. Both of your other halves wanted Lord Sesshomaru cured, so cured he was. You are just now coming into your power, so discussing it with your human half is a priority. It may be since he has become cognizant that he can take care of this without your help. Otherwise it may be that he will teach you how to do it on your own. Frankly, I have absolutely no clue. You are something of a novelty.” The healer finished.
“O…kaaayyy.”
“Before we continue, Inuyasha… I do have a question first. May I ask who let you in the castle?”
“Umm, nobody? It’s not like it was hard. I mean really, who in their right mind would break into the Great Dog Demon’s castle? So… all I did was use my nose, it didn’t take long to find where his scent was the strongest. So that’s the window I went to.” Was the surprising explanation.
“Ohhh…” That was all that the healer could say in response, exchanging a look with his Lord.
“Huh? What’s wrong with that?” Inuyasha asked. Sess looked horrified and Daisuke looked ill.
“The castle is surrounded by protection spells put in place by the strongest demons and spellcaster’s. You should not have been able to enter the castle without the proper clearance. In fact, you should have died immediately upon entering.” Daisuke said, trying not to throw up.
“Well, excuse me… for not dying. I don’t know what happened.”
~I did it. I call it, you can’t see me. I make it so nothing and no one can sense our presence.~
“Oh, that figures. It was my human half, he calls it you can’t see me. Apt, huh?”
“We really have to reset the wards for you. Gods forbid, his guard is let down and you become visible. You’ll be fried on the spot.” Daisuke said, trying not to shudder at what could have happened.
“Fix it, Daisuke. Now, getting back to the reason we called you here. What is the other interesting fact?” Sesshomaru asked, trying to gain back control of the conversation and get his mind off of what could have happened to his otouto.
“I only know that InuTaisho had an epiphany considering the two of you.” Daisuke said looking away.
“So, what was it that Father thought?” His Lord asked evenly.
Taking a deep breath, drawing on his youkai for strength he finally revealed his long held truth. “Upon seeing Inuyasha as a babe, InuTaisho was positive that you two were destined to become… Reikan no Nakama tachi.”
Inuyasha was thrown to the bed as The Lord of the Western Lands moved in a blur, slamming Daisuke against the wall by his throat, Sesshomaru snarled. “Why would you not tell me this? I would not have been so conflicted about what I was doing the last two centuries. I would not have done half of what I did. I should kill you now for withholding this from me!”
Flicking his eyes towards Inuyasha confused face, Daisuke said around his constricted throat, “I will not repeat the many reasons why I have never brought it up. Even so, you would not have listened to me nonetheless. The truth is, it was your own actions that prevented me from saying anything in the first place!”
“Sess, let him go! Gods damn it, will somebody please explain was the FUCK is going on? What is this Rei… whatever?” Inuyasha said crossly.
Sesshomaru lowered the healer to the floor and answered, “Known as Reikan no Nakama tachi, it is the strongest bond known among demons. Not much is understood about it since only the one couple has ever been confirmed, but they had become stronger because of the bond. There were also a few other advantages. That was centuries upon centuries ago though, so the facts are more speculation than reality.”
Frowning, Inuyasha said, “Oh, I see. If you had known about this in the beginning then you would’ve mated me in order to become stronger. That’s just fucking wonderful. I’d have been just a vessel to be used in your lust for power. No thanks Sess, I rather have been alone.”
“He would not have been able to allow any harm to befall you, the bond would have prevented it.” The healer said, trying to soothe the younger man.
"Riiiight… not able to hurt me. Do you really think he would have loved me back then? After a while I would’ve ended up hating him and myself. So, sooner or later one of us would have killed the other, just to escape the pain.”
“I don’t think so… with this type of bond Lord Sesshomaru would have felt your pain. Hurting you would have hurt him as well. It’s unusual enough with you both being alpha’s and adding Inuyasha’s spiritual power, I have no idea as to what the bond will bring to you both? So the two of you must be absolutely sure this is something you want, because once formed it can never be broken, save for death.” Daisuke whispered, while subtly rubbing his throat.
Looking stunned, Inuyasha stuttered. “W…what?”
Sesshomaru replied calmly, “The bond is so strong that it is unlikely that one would survive the others death. Reikan no Nakama tachi, literally translated: Of the soul or spirit; eminent mates or partners. The two shall be linked by heart and soul, each dependent on the other for happiness, prosperity and life. What one feels both feel. Sometimes it is known as Futari ga hitotsu to naru toki meaning when two become one. It is said to be a mating chosen by the Gods’ or so the story goes.”
“Ooookaaaay… That’s kinda creepy.” Inuyasha said, “I’m not sure I want to know what you’re thinking at any given moment, I’d probably go insane.”
“Not thinking, feeling. Empathy, little brother.” Stalking back to the bed Sesshomaru sat and sighed loudly. “Are you absolutely sure Daisuke?”
“I’m not, InuTaisho was.” Came the reply.
“But… but we don’t have to do it, right?” Inuyasha asked.
“You do not wish to mate with me, Inuyasha?” Sesshomaru inquired softly, staring into his brothers eyes.
Daisuke looked away from all the emotion’s that swam into the younger man’s golden gaze. A painful longing seemed to be top most. The healer knew there had been very little love in his life. Turning back he watched as Inuyasha climbed onto his elder brother’s lap and buried his face into Sesshomaru’s neck.
“You do know that most of your counselors’ will oppose this bonding?” Daisuke asked.
“I know, though it makes no difference. They will consent or they will die.” Sesshomaru replied coldly, though the hand’s holding the young man were still gentle.
“If you kill them, most likely a tribunal will be held.”
“So be it.”
“What the hell does that mean?” Inuyasha snapped, lifting his head.
“Lord Sesshomaru will be called before some of the oldest demons in existence to explain why he killed his retainers.” Daisuke said softly.
“Yeah, but why the hell would they object? Won’t they approve it when they know it will make Sess stronger?”
“Lord Sesshomaru has a few allies within his retainer’s but for the most part… No probably not, most of them are power hungry, petty and cruel. Not one of them will want to look on positive side of things. Too, I doubt they wish for Lord Sesshomaru to become stronger.” Was the surprising reply.
Inuyasha got up off of Sess’s lap and paced while thinking. He didn’t understand that attitude at all, who didn’t want to be stronger? It was better than being weak and not being able to protect what was yours. Who the hell didn’t look after their pack? You don’t just abandon the people you’re supposed to shield, even if they were assholes. Then a weird idea popped into his head, “Well then, we’ll just tell the tribunal people that they committed suicide.”
The healer and the Lord both looked at the young man like he was crazy.
“What? Like they weren’t going to die if they went up against Sess? They would have to be suicidal. Idiots.” Inuyasha said with scorn.
Daisuke and Sess both looked offended, and at same time said, “I am not a…”
Inuyasha interrupted them while rolling his eyes, “Not you two, ya know all the other… idiots.”
Sesshomaru’s eyes flashed with humor, “Then why did you always do it?”
“Cuz I actually CAN kick your ass! Duh!” the younger man said in all seriousness.
The daiyoukai narrowed his golden eyes in anger. “Otouto, I suggest you run, very fast and very far.”
Some devil must have taken hold of him because, Inuyasha simply fluttered his eyes and said, “You know, you’re beautiful when you’re angry.”
A snort escaped Daisuke before he could stop it and when the younger man turned to him with a huge grin and wink… Oh boy, this was getting to be a habit. The healer quickly turned around so his Lord would not see his expression. Though it would be impossible for Sesshomaru not to know that Daisuke was laughing because his shoulders were shaking, but he could not seem to stop. This young demon was getting more remarkable by the minute. When he had gained sufficient control he turned back.
“Umm, the castle should be very interesting from now on.” The healer spoke with some sympathy.
“You have absolutely no idea, Daisuke.” Sesshomaru said with his head in his hands.
When a sudden thought hit Daisuke, he chuckled and his Lord looked up quizzically. Snickering, the healer said, “Oh Gods, I can’t wait to introduce him to The Eight.”
Sesshomaru put his head back in his hands and groaned.

After the healer had a brief whispered conversation with Inuyasha at the doorway and had taken his leave the young man walked back to Sess sitting on the bed. Stepping between the older demon’s legs and combing his hands through his brother’s hair, Inuyasha waited until Sess looked up at him.
“Jeez, I knew that he knew something but I didn’t expect anything like this. It’s a lot to take in at once, huh?”
“It is a lot, but if you need time to decide… I am not going anywhere. I will not pressure you for an answer.”
“Shit, Sess I don’t want to cause trouble or make you a target. Couldn’t we just announce that we’re going to mate and then wait a while, ya know until people get used to the idea?” Inuyasha asked.
“NO! I will not hide you. This is non-negotiable. You are worth more to me than all of my subjects put together and they will learn this. I will never again be the cause of your pain or give you a reason to doubt me!”
Smiling slightly, straddling Sess’s waist, “That’s right, you’re mine and I’m yours. I really do love you, ya know?” Inuyasha said leaning in to kiss his elder brother.
Sesshomaru fiercely clutched Inuyasha to him, deepening the kiss. As he moved down to his neck, Inuyasha moaned.
“Mmm… Sess… I really want you…”
“All in good time, otouto.” was the reply.
Sesshomaru stood holding Inuyasha and gently laid him on the bed. Undoing the obi of the white kimono he said, “I am going to savor every inch of your body.”
“Shit, Sess… I swear I’m going to cum just from your voice.”

Exhaling in relief, “Forever and Always, Yasha.”

Meanwhile near Kaede’s village:
Climbing out of the well, Kagome looked around. Where the in hell was Inuyasha? After their fight he should be waiting patiently to apologize, right? So then, where was he? Man, he was certainly carrying this grudge way too far. What the hell gave him the right to treat her like this? Well, she would act contrite and everything would go back to normal.
Walking fast towards the village, Kagome was struck by the realization that something was wrong. Running full out, wondering what was amiss she stopped at the village’s edge. Nothing seemed to be different, but something was slightly wrong.
Rin was the first person the miko saw. She reluctantly started walking towards the little girl (Kagome still hadn’t gotten over the fact that the Beads of Subjugation were removed.) That little bitch had cozied up to Inuyasha one too many times and on top of that had got rid of the only means of control that Kagome had over the half demon.
“Umm, Rin?” Kagome said, trying to pitch her voice in an easygoing way. “Is something the matter?”
Turning, the adolescent stared at Kagome for a long minute. “I don’t know that I would consider that it was something necessarily wrong. In fact I think it’s probably very long overdue.”
Kagome was seriously starting to get pissed, but was trying to keep control of her emotions. Alienating this girl would have a negative effect on her life. She couldn’t afford to be unfriendly to the little brat. Not only would Inuyasha be pissed but adding Sesshomaru to the mix would make it even worse.
“I really don’t understand what you’re trying to say…” The young women tried to say evenly, though looking at Rin’s expression she knew she failed miserably to keep the jealously and hatred from her tone.
“Inuyasha has gone to help Lord Sesshomaru.” The young girl said.
“WHAT?! When the hell did this happen? They hate each other, so there is no way Inuyasha would go to him! What shitty lies are you telling, you little bitch?” The miko screamed, her temper finally getting the best of her.
Sighing, Rin responded, “Why would I bother to lie? Unlike the others’, I know what you try to hide. Spitefulness, anger and jealousy are your top emotions lately. Friendship and the like has become something for you to use. I don’t need to lie because I am nothing like you. The only thing I am truly grateful for is that the Shikon Jewel was destroyed before your heart became dark like this.” All this was said in an even voice.
“Do not go against me, Rin. You will not like the result!” Kagome said, letting go of the mask she presented to the world.
Rin gazed without fear at the older girl’s real face, “You cannot harm me, no matter what you may think Kagome. My power is different than yours. How do you think it was possible for me to break the Beads of Subjugation?”
The miko looked at her in confusion.
“I am what is considered a catalyst. I can take the spiritual power of another and use it as my own.” The young girl said quietly.
“Really, then who’s power did you use? Kaede’s? It wouldn’t have been enough, since she had already tried and failed.” Kagome snarled, rage in her tone.
Rin only smiled and started walking back towards the village.
“Who’s was it?” Kagome screamed, wondering who could possibly stand against her.
The answer and laughter that floated back sent chills down the miko’s spine.
“The last person you would EVER expect. INUYASHA’S.”
Once she had recovered from the shock, Kagome started thinking furiously. There must be some way to use this. In her twisted mind a plan was taking shape. Humming happily at her dark thoughts, she walked back towards the well.
“Hmm, it seems drastic measures must be taken. What fun.”
Eerie laughter echoed through the forest.
