Chapter 8: New Love And Life

A/N: Three days after they made love Inuyasha notices the change in Kagome�s scent. He realizes that they conceived a child and that he has already set in motion the actions of making her his mate.
Kagome straddled Inuyasha and rocked her hips suggestively against his semi erect length. He groaned and pumped back into her pressing the tip of his shaft against her wet core. Inuyasha lifted her up until her womanhood hovered above his mouth. He snaked his tongue out to taste her but stopped when an unfamiliar scent filled his nose. He inhaled Kagome�s aroused scent and realized that it was mingled with a scent that was both his and hers mixed together. Inuyasha lowered Kagome back down so that she straddled his waist once more. �Why did you stop Inuyasha?�
�We can�t do this right now Kagome.�
�Why? I want you to take me Inuyasha! I�m yours remember?�
�No Kagome, it�s not safe for you.�
�What are you talking about?�
�You�re pregnant with my pup Kagome!�
�Pregnant? That can�t be right.�
�Well you�re three days into your pregnancy Kagome, I can smell the change in your scent. You conceived this pup the night before your eighteenth birthday when we made love.�
�What are we going to do about the pup Inuyasha?�
�We will raise it together. I will not abandon my pup Kagome, nor it�s mother.�
�So where does this leave us?�
�Well I may as well tell you how I feel about you now that you�re carrying my pup.�
�Oh and how is that?�
�You�re everything to me Kagome, my heart is yours if you�ll have me. I have come to see you as my mate no longer just my whore. You�re the mother of my unborn pup Kagome, you belong to me.�
�Oh Inuyasha, I fell in love with you long ago after you made the promise to not force yourself on me! My heart has ached for you to stay by my side for all time. This pup growing inside me means the world to me.� Inuyasha grabbed Kagome�s chin and pulled her in for a bruising kiss. She eagerly tilted her head and opened her mouth to him. After breaking the kiss Inuyasha collected his thoughts so that he could explain the whole mating procedure to Kagome.
�I have to mark you as mine Kagome.�
�Mark me? How?�
�I have to bite your neck and leave a permanent mark there.�
�Okay, do it Inuyasha.� She pushed her thick raven hair away from her neck exposing her creamy skin to Inuyasha. Inuyasha leaned in and pressed his nose firmly into the crook of Kagome�s neck. He inhaled her changed scent and then moved to place his mark on her. Kagome whimpered a bit when she felt Inuyasha�s sharp fangs sink into the crook of her neck. Inuyasha instantly tasted Kagome�s salty metallic blood in his mouth when he marked her. He pulled his fangs from her flesh and began gently lapping at the wound. Once the blood had stopped Inuyasha looked at the mark that now marred Kagome�s perfect flesh. His amber eyes roamed over bodybody quickly.
She was the most perfect and beautiful creature in this world and most importantly she was completely his. Kagome was now bonded to him for all eternity. Their souls would forever be connected in every future incarnation of themselves. He thought back to the first night that Kagome had been given to him. He had treated her horribly and taken her precious virginity without so much as a second thought. The memories of how abusive he had been to her saddened him. Kagome could see the shadows flickering in her mate�s amber eyes. �Inuyasha what is it?�
�I�m so sorry for doing all the horrible things that I did to you. You should have never been turned into a whore because you deserve much better. Why did you agree to become my mate after the way I treated you Kagome?�
�Because I love you with all my heart and soul Inuyasha. There will never be another who will have my heart.� Inuyasha pulled Kagome into his embrace and they quickly drifted off to sleep. The next morning Kagome awoke to find that she was alone in their bed. She glanced sleepily around the room but Inuyasha was no where to be found.
Kagome climbed from the large bed and slipped into her white silk robe. She was hungry, no starving really. The young maiden placed a hand on her stomach and rubbed it gently. �Don�t worry little one, mommy�s going to feed us right now.� Kagome padded softly down the large staircase and headed into the enormous dining hall. She froze when she saw Sesshomaru sitting at the table. His cold amber eyes snapped up instantly to greet her.
�Good morning wench.� Kagome merely ignored his hateful words and took a seat at the opposite end of the large cherry wood table. A servant immediately brought her some fresh fruit and oatmeal. A large glass of milk was placed in front of her as well. Kagome began eating immediately as if she hadn�t eaten in three days. Sesshomaru eyed Kagome�s odd behavior curiously and then his sensitive nose picked up her changed scent. He pushed back his chair and stood abruptly. Kagome eyed him warily as she chewed her oatmeal. He strode over to where she was sitting. Sesshomaru pulled Kagome to her feet and then dropped to his knees. She froze when his hands grabbed her hips and pulled them towards his face.
He pressed his nose into her lower abdomen just above her womanhood and deeply inhaled her scent. Sesshomaru then released Kagome�s hips and returned to a standing position. The smirk on his face made her want to strangle the life out of him. �I knew it.�
�Knew what?�
�You�re pregnant with the half breed�s little bastard.� He quicpushpushed her hair away from her neck to see the mark Inuyasha had placed on her. �I see he�s marked you as his mate. How ridiculous, you�re not worthy of being brought into this family. Inuyasha may have taken you as his mate, but you are still nothing but a whore.� Kagome reached up and slapped Sesshomaru across the face. His amber eyes flickered with anger for a fleeting moment before they quickly returned to their normally icy state. �I would kill you if not for the innocent pup growing inside you!�
Kagome glared at him and then sank back into her seat and continued eating her breakfast. Sesshomaru returned to his seat feeling rather indignant that the girl had struck him. Lord Inutaisho entered the room to see the two silently glaring at each other from across the table. �Good morning Kagome, Sesshomaru.�
�Good morning Lord Inutaisho.�
�Hello father.� Inutaisho glanced at Kagome curiously. There was something different about the young maiden. Before he could ask her she finished eating and excused herself. Inutaisho sat down in a seat to the right of Sesshomaru.
�Something is different about Kagome now. Did you sense the change as well Sesshomaru?� He scowled bitterly as he responded.
�The wench has become pregnant with Inuyasha�s brat. He has made her his mate.� Inutaisho smiled. �You�re happy about this father? That whore should not be permitted to taint our family�s bloodline!�
�Sesshomaru, you have no choice who Inuyasha chooses to take as a mate. Kagome is a wonderful young woman and will make a wonderful mother.�
�But their brat will only be hanyou! It will be less than half demon father!�
�That matters not Sesshomaru. Kagome is the woman Inuyasha loves. It is time that you start thinking about taking a mate and producing pups as well.� Sesshomaru frowned at his father�s comment. He knew that it was really an order and not a request as it had sounded. Sesshomaru would do his father�s bidding and find a suitable woman to mate with.
