"So the only thing to do is wait?"
Kaede nodded. "If ye go to find her now, that will only make Sesshoumaru angrier. And Kyoko might kill ye, Inuyasha."
Inuyasha nodded. "She is alot stronger than me, I have to admit that. And so her and Sesshoumaru combined, that scares even me."
"We would be no match for them." Shippo said
"Wait, Kyoko and Sesshoumaru both don't like Naraku." Kagome said.
Everyone just realized that.
"So maybe, maybe they will help us destroy Naraku!"
Miroku added, "Either that or they will just kill him theirselves."
Thats added a positive point to everyones thoughts.
Sesshoumaru and Kyoko...
Kyoko woke up to voices. However she did not open her eyes.
One voice was was Sesshoumaru, and the other, which sounded like it was right next to her, was a little girls voice.
"Who is this lady, Lord Sesshoumaru?" The little girl asked.
"It is my mother, and move away from her Rin, she is sleeping." Sesshoumaru answered.
Then another voice spoke, one that Kyoko had once wished to never hear again.
"Lord Sesshoumaru, I thought Lady Kyoko killed herself." Jaken said.
Kyokid, id, "Well I'm obviously alive, now aren't I." She opened her eyes, sat up and looked at him.
He gasped and bowed.
Sesshoumaru asked her, "Are you ok?"
"Yes, " she answered, "But Im still surprised to be able to remember everything, and to be alive."
"Thats to be expected. After all, you haven't been alive for at least 70 years."
Kyoko nodded. Then her gaze fell upon Rin, the little girl.
' a human?'
"Who is she?" Kyoko asked. And she said to Jaken, "You can stop bowing now"
He stopped.
Sesshoumaru answered her.
"This is Rin. She helped me once when Inuyasha had nearly defeated me. Then she was killed by wolves, and I revived her using the Tenseiga. She's followed be around ever since."
Rin walked over to Kyoko and said," Hi, my name is Rin, whats your name?"
"My name is Kyoko." Kyoko answered, smiling.
Rin smiled, too, and sat next to Kyoko.
Kyoko turned back to Sesshoumaru.
"Can I see the Tenseiga?" she asked, seriously.
"Are you sure?" he asked, uncertain if it would bring back memories.
She nodded.
He pulled the Tenseiga from its sheath and handed it to her.
She took it and looked at it.
"You have taken good care of the sword. It looks exactly like it used to when your father had it."
A tear fell from her eyes as she handed it back to him.
"Are you ok?" Sesshoumaru asked her, putting the tenseiga in its sheath.
"Im ok." Then she realized that Jaken hadn't spoken yet to her. "Jaken, you can talk if you want."
Jaken said quietly, "But Lady Kyoko, 70 years ago you told me to not say anything to anyone."
Kyoko laughed, and Jaken looked confused.
"Jaken, I meant to not say anything about what I was going to do. And apparently, you didn't listen to that either, because Sesshoumaru knew."
Jaken just looked down at his feet.
"Kyoko?" Rin said.
"Yes?" She looked down at the little girl.
"You're Lord Sesshoumaru's mommy?"
Kyoko nodded.
"So are you going to get mad at Jaken when he hits me, too?" Rin asked hopefully.
"Sure."Kyoko said, smiling.
Rin laughed. "Jaken gets punished twice for hitting me! Thats funny!"
"Enough Rin." Sesshoumaru said.
Kyoko turned to Sesshoumaru. "She's young, let her play and have fun."
Sesshoumaru's eyes widened slightly at being told what to do by his mother again.
(A/N: Thats funny! Sesshys gettin lectured by his mom!)
"Sesshoumaru,"
Sesshoumaru turned to his mother.
"I want to see the castle." She said, quite seriously.
"Are you sure?"
She nodded.
"Fine then. Rin, Jaken, let's go."
Since they werent very far away, it didn't take long to get there. As soon as they ere up to the doors, Kyoko said,
"It looks the same. You've taken good care of it. I cant wait to see my room again."
"I didnt change a thing in your room or closets." Sesshoumaru said.
"Thank you."
They walked inside. They went upstairs. The servants that they passed just stopped and stared, amazed and confused. Even the ones that had not been there when Kyoko was alive, had seen many pictures of her and knew she had died.
Soon they reached Kyoko's room. Sesshoumaru, Rin, and Jaken stood back as she closed her eyes and opened the door.
She opened her eyes. She was so happy. Her room was exactly the way she had last seen it. Not a single thing was moved. It had obviously been dusted, but other than that she couldn't find any difference.
Then she stopped in front of her bed and her smile faded. The blankets were left the same way as when she had threw them off and ran out of the room. The same day she had died.
--- *flashback*---
Kyoko opened her eyes slowly. It was midnight.
She made her decision. If he didn't love her anymore, that was his choice. But she still deeply loved him, and she wasn't just going to sit by and watch him ignore her.
She would rather die.
She sat up, throwing the blankets off of her and jumping out of the bed. Tears ran down her face as she ran out of the room and into the hall towards the stairs....
--- *End Flashback*---
A tear ran down her cheek. But then she wiped it away, determined to prove Inuyasha wrong.
She walked over to her desk and opened it. The papers were all the same.
Then she walked to a painting on the wall. She closed her eyes and turned away. She didn't ever want to look at that picture again.
She walked to Sesshoumaru.
"Im done. I want to see everything else."
Sesshoumaru nodded.
"And, when you get the chance, can you tell a servant to take that painting down?"
He nodded.
As she walked away, he went into the room and looked at the painting.
"Oh" he sighed, walking out of the room and following Kyoko.
It had been a painting of Inutaisho and Kyoko together.
Kyoko saw various rooms and areas of the castle. After they had seen mostly everything, Kyoko wanted to see one more thing.
"Sesshoumaru, I want to see the room where I killed myself." She said quietly.
"But mother--"
"I want to see it. I'll be fine."
"Fine, but I'm coming with you." He said.
"Fine." She said, starting to walk.
"Rin, stay here with Jaken." He said, knowing Rin would not like where they were going.
Sesshoumaru remembered running down the many steps that they were going down. Jaken had told him at the last minute that his mother was going to kill herself. He had known where to go.
---*flashback*---
"What is it Jaken?" Sesshoumaru asked as Jaken burst into the library, panting, apparently having just ran.
"Well," the little toad demon started, slightly nervous."Im not really supposed to tell you, but...umm..."
"What?"
"Well--umm--its about your mother...umm...she..."
"What about my mother?" Sesshoumaru asked, slightly nervous. His mother had been acting strange lately...
"Lady Kyoko is going to kill herself!" Jaken finally said.
"What?!" Sesshoumaru threw all the papers and books and ran as fast as he could down the hallway.
'no mother... dont do this...'
He stopped, and then turned down the stairs, knowing where she would be...
---*End flashback*---
He had wished that Jaken would have told him sooner. Then she wouldn't have died. But now he realized that it was better than living her life in misery.
Kyoko also remembered running down these stairs desperately, tripping a couple of times on the way.
They finally reached the room. It was way down stairs, below ground, and lined with stones.
Kyoko opened the door and went inside. Unfortunately, this room also looked exactly the same. Down to the last peice of stone.
The room was her battle supplies room. It had armor and weapons, along with outfits for fing ang and other useful things in battle.Everything was neatly organized in its place, except for one thing.
The knife that she used to kill herself. It was still lying on the ground, covered in dry blood. There had been a reason that she used that specific knife.
----*flashback*----
Kyoko ran down the stone stairs and into her weapons room. She searched the shelves desperately until she found what she desired.
She pulled the knife from its case. The jewel encrusted handle shined, and the gold symbols forming 'Kyoko' shimmered in the candle light.
She pulled out a peice of paper and and ink.
"You gave me this knife, Inutaisho." she whispered as she wrote what she was saying.. "A long time ago, when you promised to love me forever."
Tears ran down her face.
"Now I will use it, for you. I will use it to kill myself, to make you happy. I promised to always do whatever it took to make you happy, and now Im going to uphold my promise, as long as you never break yours, to never forget me. I hope seeing my lifeless body, will remind you of that day when you helped me. And I hope that this will show you that I will always love you, no matter how much you hurt me. I hope this reminds you that love is a strong bond, but easy to break. You still have my love, Inutaisho, Im just not sure if I have yours. Im not going to sit back and let myself try to gain your love, when its already in the hands of someone else. Goodbye, my lost love. I hope you remember me. And I hope you feel it in your heart when I die. Love, Kyoko."
She wrapped up the letter and tied it to the handle of the knife. She was about to kill herself when Sesshoumaru burst in, looking more scared than he had ever been.
---*End flashback*---
She closed her eyes, telling herself not to cry.
Sesshoumaru put his hand on her shoulder.
"Mother, I think we should leave this room."
"Wait," she said. She walked to one of the shelves and took a fighting outfit and armor. "I will most likely need it eventually."
He nodded.
They went back upstairs silently.
Rin happily welcomed them when they got back.
Kyoko was still saddened.
"Mother?"
"Im fine."she said."Im just-- I think Im going to go to sleep for a while."
He nodded, and she walked off to her room.
