For once, he lay peacefully. The thoughts of Kikyou no longer plagued him, now he could think of her and know that he had her to hold. He didn't have to worry about her running away from him, but he did worry about today. Rather the night. Tonight was the new moon, a cycle in the lunar orbit that keeps the sunlight from touching the surface of the moon. So then on this day all hanyou loose their demonic powers and become as weak and vulnerable as a mortal.

InuYasha looked out the window, watching as the sun went down. He heard a knock on the door, "Come in if you must..." he sighed loudly. Kikyou poked her head between the crack of the door. "Ki-Kikyou!" he gasped, "Come in." he breathed, motioning for her to sit down. "Konbon wa Teshima InuYasha." she said smiling. "Konbon wa watashi no koibito." He said, getting up and wrapping his arms around her. "Kikyou koi, there's something I have to tell you. And I have to do it now so I don't scare you." Kikyou looked up at him with an unsure look in her eye.

"Kikyou, you know I'm hanyou. But did you know that tonight is the night... when I become mortal." he finished, looking again outside, watching as the sun was nearly behind the horizon, setting off a deep red glow into the Rehab Centre. "InuYasha... this place, it looks like that in my dream. When I danced with Miroku I saw it... it was beautiful..." she sighed, coming to the edge of the window. InuYasha took her hand, and lead her out of the room.

"Where are we...?" she started to question. InuYasha stopped and turned, catching Kikyous lips in his. He silenced her, "Shall we?" he asked her, holding out his hand. Kikyou blushed from the surprise kiss, and took his hand, smiling as a beautiful melody filled the gardens. It was soft this time, a sad slow harmony. They started slow, and gently curved around the paths of dirt. InuYasha looked down at her with a loving look, still in denial that she was finally his. In heavan because she was there, and yet in sorrow, because one day he would have to leave her.

As the song's tempo increased, and the feeling of mood elevated the sun had just made it's decent behind the horizon. A strange wind came over the courtyard, and without missing a single step in his pace, InuYasha changed, his face seemed lighter, happier. His eyes changed from brilliant gold to a soft, cold blue. And his hair, from a silver sparkle to a deep midnight that rivaled the darkness of her own hair. His inu-ears dissapeared, and just as he had finished his transformation, the melody ended.

"InuYasha..." she breathed, taking in the new beautiful sight. "You look..." InuYasha stared at her, somewhat afraid of her next word, but he kept his gaze and waited. "Good. So... different..." she said, running her hands along his face, just to make sure it was all real. "Kikyou, do you like me like this? Would you want me to stay as a mortal?" Kikyou was surprised at this, she questioned him, she just didn't understand. Was it possible? Would she realy be able to stay with him?

"Kikyou!" she listened closely for a repeating tone, it wasn not InuYasha, nor Miroku. Though it was the voice of a man. She looked around the corridors to see a man walking towards her with a smile. "Father!" she called, leaving InuYasha's arms to run to him. InuYasha stood and watched Kikyou embrace her father, and smiling she and he walked back towards him. "Father, this is my... koibito. Teshima InuYasha." InuYasha seemed uneasy, knowing that he was being seen as a mortal, and that Kikyous father might not like it when he returned to his normal state of being. He held out his hand to shake, except now, his fingernails were worn down. No claws.

"Well then Teshima-san. You are taking good care of my daughter I hope?" said her father, taking his handshake firmly. InuYasha nodded, "Hai Shiganori-sama. I love her very much." he said, with no hesitation. And looked over at Kikyou who wrapped an arm around his waist. "Father, if I may... whay have you come?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. Her father smiled and hugged her, "Because, this is all my fault, and I want to see you get better." Kikyou understood, but she felt sorry to let her father blame himself. "No father, this is all my fault, what I did with my life was wrong. And that's why I am here, to right the bad decisions." Kikyou hugged her father once more "Well then my girl, I'll talk to your doctor, and then I'll be going. I've gotten a new job in the city."

It was now deep into the night, and Kikyous heart longed for InuYasha. She sat against the wall between their rooms, and InuYasha... sat on the other side of it. He scratched at the white plaster, and listened for a response. His heart punded when he heard a tap on the other side. He got up and slipped silently from his room. Out in the corridor her quietly crept along three feet of wall to Kiykou's door. She opened it instantly and he ushed her inside, catching her mouth in a passionate grasp. 'What now?' he asked himself, 'What's going to happen now?'...
