Chapter Eight

Two months had passed with Kagome going over to Sesshoumaru�s every weekend. Though, she barely got to visit with Shippo during that time since the taiyoukai barely let her leave the bedroom. Her father didn�t speak to her, but he was always looking at her with nasty looks and she could swear she heard him call her a whore and slut a few times. Like a good person, she ignored it, and him.
Kagome slowly opened her eyes Wednesday morning, she felt sick. She�d been feeling sick for the past week. Her eyes widened when the feeling hit, quickly she jumped out of bed and made a dash for the bathroom. After losing last night�s supper she groaned, she really didn�t feel well. Hearing a noise she turned her head to see her mother there with concern in her eyes.
�I think you should stay home from school today� she watched her daughter nod before losing more of her meal �I�m going out for the day, but I�m going to leave you money to take a cab. I�m making you a doctor�s appointment and I want you to go. I�m sure it�s just the flu, but perhaps he can give you something to keep your food down� she watched again as her daughter just nodded and she went to get the phone.
When her stomach had calmed she went down stairs to see her mother getting ready to leave. She looked around the house and found it empty �where is dad?�
�I guess he had a meeting and so he left early this morning� her mother replied �he should be back by supper time, I guess it�s one of those all day meetings. You�re appointment is at 11am�
Giving a nod, Kagome went to the phone �I�m going to call Shippo and see if he can give me a ride to my appointment so that you don�t have to spend money on a cab for me�
Aksumi pulled the money out and set it on the table �well I�ll leave it for you anyways�
�Okay, thanks mom� she replied as she dialed Sesshoumaru�s home number. School was already beginning so he wouldn�t be there. She frowned when she got no answer, so hanging up she tried Shippo�s cellphone. Smiling when he answered �hey Shippo?�
�Kagome?� he said confused �aren�t you suppose to be in school?�
�I�m not feeling to well� she answered �I was wondering, my mother made me a doctor�s appointment, could you take me to it? I know its short notice�
He chuckled �it�s no problem, when is it at?�
She smiled �it�s at 11�
�Okay I�ll be there to pick you up� he replied �I�m just running a few errands, see you soon�
�Thanks� she answered back before hanging up the phone and making another run to the bathroom. She groaned when she finished, she hoped that appointment came soon she didn�t think she had anything left in her stomach to lose.
Before long Kagome was feeling slightly better and Shippo had arrive to pick her up in his car. After hearing which doctors office she was going to they drove off. He looked at her as she sat in the passenger side. She looked pale and tired �so what�s wrong?�
�I�ve just been having stomach aches� she replied �my mom wanted me to go in to see if the doctor will give me anything to keep my food down�
While sitting in the doctor�s office, Kagome rested her head against Shippo�s shoulder. After waiting for an hour and two trips to the restroom she was finally called in and the kitsune said he�d wait for her out in the waiting room. He nearly jumped when soon after she left his cellphone rang, looking at the display, he should have seen this call coming �hello father�
�Hello indeed� his voice sounding calm, but the kitsune knew better, the youkai was mad �I got called down to the office because there was an urgent phone call for me. It was Kouga telling me you skipped out on work claiming you had something important to do. Care to explain what was more important than your job?�
He sighed �I told Kouga I�d only be gone for a little while. I am going back�
�That is not the answer, now where are you?� there was a slight pause �Kagome was not in class today and I�ve tried reaching her at home, is she with you?�
Well this would be easier now �yes, she called me on my cell saying that she had a doctor�s appointment and if I could drive her to it�
�Is she alright?� the taiyoukai�s voice sounding concerned.
Shippo smiled at the thought �yeah she�s fine, looks like it�s just the flu. Her mom made the appointment so the doctor could give her something to keep her food down�
�Tell her I will talk with her tonight�
�You got it� he replied. He quickly said good-bye when he saw her come out �how did it go?�
�He wants me to wait out here for a few minutes, he took some blood� she said sounding worried �he said he wasn�t sure if it was the flu or not�
Shippo quickly held her close �don�t worry; you have me and Sesshoumaru here for you. He just called me� he heard her gasp and chuckled �well you weren�t in class and he tried you at home, what else was he suppose to do? Don�t worry I explained that you weren�t feeling well and that I took you to the appointment your mom made. He said he would call you tonight�
�Miss Higurashi?�
Kagome turned around and saw the nurse, grabbing Shippo�s hand she followed her back to the room. Together they sat in the room for what felt like forever until the doctor finally came in. He smiled as he looked at her before turning to the man that now accompanied her �are you her boyfriend?�
Shippo quickly shook his head �no way, I�m just a really good friend� he answered nervously.
The doctor laughed before calming and looking at Kagome �Okay so I just wanted to take a test to make sure it was the flu and not something else, it�s something I do with every young girl as a precaution� he said seriously as he looked at the results of the test �it seems my dear you do not have the flu�
Kagome grew quickly concerned and grabbed Shippo's hand tighter �what is it?�
He gave her a gentle smile which calmed her. After all a doctor who gives that kind of smile can�t have bad news �you are pregnant� but she could always be wrong.
�I-I�m what?� she asked, her eyes wide with shock.
Shippo stared at the doctor in surprise �it�s a joke right?�
The male shook his head �nope, see I was getting a few young females with �flu� problems so now I do a pregnancy test for each girl of age, you�d be surprised how many I got that didn�t have the flu�
�S-So, she�s going to have a baby?� he asked, still not really to comprehend this twist in news.
The doctor looked at the paper again before looking at the stunned girl �I�ll have to do some tests to see how far along you are, but you are definitely pregnant� he stood up �I want you to go to the front desk and make an another appointment this time make it for a pregnancy check up with me, okay?�
Kagome just nodded, she couldn�t find the words to speak. With Shippo�s help she was able to stand up and walk to the front desk. She heard him speaking with the girl at the front and making the next appointment for her. When it was finished he led her out to his car.
The ride most of the way home was silent until Shippo finally spoke up �I suppose we all should have seen it coming, but on the plus side I�m getting a baby brother or sister�
�I-I just can�t believe I�m pregnant� Kagome finally spoke as she continued to stare out the window �I mean I wanted to have kids some day, but this is earlier than I wanted to start�
�It happens� he replied �you plan you want a baby in three years or so and instead you get a baby when you least expect it�
She gave a nod as she agreed �h-how am I g-going to tell him?� she wondered as a tear slid down her face.
Shippo pulled up to the shrine and unbuckling himself he quickly wrapped his arms around her �don�t you worry about a thing, everything will be fine, you�ll see�
She gasped and held him tighter �i-it�s going to be hanyou; I can�t have a baby hanyou! If it doesn�t look human they�ll think of it as deformed� she cried harder �what am I going to do?�
�Don�t you worry about a thing, Kagome� he spoke seriously, he pulled her away a little to look her in the face �now that we know, after this next appointment to see how are along you are, we can take the proper steps� he saw the confusion on her face �I told you the first time we demons are everywhere that includes doctor offices and hospitals. They deal with demon pregnancies and they�re a lot more accepting to hanyou�s now than back then, they will help you and Sesshoumaru and I will be there every step of the way�
She panicked �no!� she cried �I-I can�t tell him�
Shippo looked at her with worry on his face �this isn�t something you can hide from demons Kagome, you have to tell him, he has a right to know he is the baby�s father after all�
She gave a tiny hiccup �I-I�m s-scared�
Understanding washed through him and he relaxed as he rubbed her arm �come on I�ll take you inside� as he got out he quickly went to her side and wrapped his arm around her to pull her close �I won�t tell him, but you will have to tell him soon� he tried to make her understand �he will eventually be able to smell the pregnancy on you, but not right now it�s too soon. The farthest you can be is about 3 months� he reasoned �I�ll be with you when you tell him�
�But how am I going to tell him?� she asked as more tears escaped.
Shippo opened the door to the house and led her inside �tell him after your next appointment that way you can tell him how far along you are� he sat her down on the couch and then went into the kitchen, when he came back out he had a class of milk with him �here, drink this, you need it to be healthy�
She took the offered glass and slowly drank it when she finished she handed it back to him, feeling a little calmer. She noticed he was still standing there and looked up at him. He seemed to be nervous about something �what is it Shippo?�
Reaching into his pockets he pulled out an old note �something told me to take this with me today� he started �that birthday letter wasn�t the only letter Inuyasha wrote you�
She gasped �what?�
�Inuyasha gave me specific instructions when I was suppose to give you this letter� he replied �I�m not sure why, but now I know it�s time for you to have this� and he handed the letter over to her.
Kagome took the letter and gently fumbled with it in her hands. She gave a small smile �I�ll read it later. I�m not sure I�m ready to read this just yet� she looked up at him �thank you� she then frowned �you promise you won�t tell Sesshoumaru yet?�
He shook his head �It�s not my business to tell him, it�s yours� he replied �after all, it�s your guys� baby� he gave her another hug �are you going to be okay?� she nodded �okay well I have to get back to the office, but I will pick you up for your next appointment�
�Okay� she smiled at him and followed him to the front door �I�ll tell Sesshoumaru that when he calls me later, I�ll just say the doctor took some test just to be safe and I�ll be getting the results then� she hugged him again �after that I will tell him�
True to his word, Sesshoumaru called her that night. She smiled as she could tell how concerned he was when she wasn�t in school and also learning she went to the doctors. She explained that it was just the flu, but the doctor took tests to be safe, even the doctor believed it to be the flu. When he heard this he calmed down and assumed she wasn�t going to be in school for a bit. She wasn�t sure, but smiled when he offered to bring her homework home. Then she remembered what Shippo said about youkai being able to smell pregnancy; she was about to tell him no, but then remembered that Shippo had also said it was still too early for youkai to tell. Sesshoumaru dragged her from her thoughts by saying if she wasn�t good by the weekend then she didn�t have to come over, she could stay at the shrine and rest. She agreed to let him know how she was by then before they said their good-byes and hung up.
It was a week later; Kagome had been staying home with the �flu� and was happy the day Shippo finally came and got her for her next appointment. Turns out he was right; she wasn�t 3 months pregnant she was just a little over two. So after learning that they had to decide when to tell the taiyoukai he was going to be a father. Shippo knew she was still nervous about the whole thing, but he knew everything would turn out.
It was Friday afternoon when Shippo came and picked her up from her place and brought her over to their house. They agreed she would be there when Sesshoumaru got home so they could talk since the kitsune wasn�t going to be there because he had to sit in a meeting to learn how the company ran with Kouga showing him the ropes. Both knew the taiyoukai was getting frustrated at not being able to be alone with her, but he was also concerned since she was still sick.
Kagome sighed as she sat on the couch before pulled out the letter Inuyasha had written. She hadn�t read it yet, but she felt the need to read it before talking to Sesshoumaru. Slowly she opened it up and started to read: �Dear Kagome, I know a lot has probably happened since seeing Sesshoumaru and Shippo again. I bet you are confused about what is going on, maybe even afraid? I know you don�t know much about youkai so I�m going to explain something that those two won�t. Please don�t be mad at them, they feel they are protecting you by hiding this secret� she blinked, if she didn�t know any better she would have that Inuyasha was in the room with her; able to see her emotions and actually talking with her. She smiled; he really did know her too well �Youkai are basically immortal, they can live hundreds of years if they want. Those that decide it�s time to pass on normally take a human to bed with them. Sharing a bed with a human for youkai is to lose their immortality. All demons die eventually, but when they bed a human they start to age like a human. That is why most youkai will never lay with a human.� She was stunned at learning this and read on �Even though I am dead Kagome, I know you and Sesshoumaru have been together� she gasped, how could he know? �Since Kikyo and I have been together I knew I would not live to see your time. Sesshoumaru and I have gotten closer because of it. I can�t be with you there to love you like I would love to do, so Sesshoumaru is taking my place. Don�t think he�s with you just out of duty to me, he loves you Kagome. He hasn�t said that to me, but I can see it in his eyes, he waited all this time for you. Knowing you the way I know you, I know you have feelings for him and I can bet you haven�t fully let yourself embrace those feelings either�because of me. Please Kagome stop living in the past, stop holding back. I want you to embrace your feelings, if you truly love Sesshoumaru then embrace it, I fully accept your choice� she felt tears come to her eyes �I want you to be happy, no matter what. And like I said in my last letter I�ll see you again at the gates of heaven. Remember that I love you, but I also want you to love, forever yours, Inuyasha� Kagome jumped a little when she heard the door open and quickly put the letter into her bag before running to the front door.
Sesshoumaru sighed as he walked into the empty house and started to take off his shoes. He�ll admit it; he missed Kagome being in the house. It made the house seem less empty. He looked up suddenly as he heard the sound of someone in the house running up to him and was surprised when suddenly he was embraced with a hug from the very girl who�d been on his mind. Coming to his senses again he hugged her back and growled lightly when she kissed his cheek. Normally she was never the one to initiate contact, but he liked this sudden change. He pulled away to look down at her smiling face and saw traces of tears in her eyes. Whatever she had been upset about seemed to have gone away �this is an unexpected surprise�
She smiled at him �I know, I had Shippo pick me up and bring me here�
�I take it you are feeling better then?� he asked, he had been worried about her. Her smile left and her face took on a concerned look, instantly making him worry �you went to the doctor�s this morning, did you not? What did they say?�
�I don�t have the flu� she answered quietly.
He took her hand and brought her into the living room to sit on the couch �what is wrong with you then?�
She glanced at him out of the corner of her eye �I�m pregnant�
He felt himself go still with shock �pregnant?�
She gave a nod �I�m a little over two months�
He stared at her. She was pregnant�with his child. Immediately he picked her up bridal style and started to head for his room�their room.
Kagome was a little startled and wrapped her arms around his neck when he suddenly picked her up. She looked to see he was heading for the bedroom and looked at him in surprise �w-why are we going there?�
�Because I have not had you for a week� he replied as he walked in and closed the door behind him with his foot �and I want to ravish your body� he laid her on the bed and climbed on top of her, lifted her shirt, and placing a kiss on her flat stomach �your beautiful and pregnant body�
She gasped as in no time at all both were naked and he was already entering her body. She looked at him �I take it you�re happy then�
Sesshoumaru thrust into her causing her to cry out in joy �very happy� he nibbled her neck and he used a slow pace within her �I�m surprised, though I suppose it�s not totally unexpected, we never once thought to use protection� he growled as he quickened his pace, but was still gentle with her. It wasn�t very long before they both reached their limit and cried out their climax. He cuddled her close to him, not wanting her to stray to far from him �do your parents know yet?�
She shook her head as she rolled over to look at him �no, just Shippo cause he was with me when I learned the news�
�I suppose we should go tell them� he replied as his hand lightly rubbed her stomach.
Her hand gripped his arm �I don�t know, can�t we wait awhile�
He held her closer to him and growled a little �you are not leaving my side again, you will be staying here with me. I will be with you when you tell them and I will protect you� at her slow nod he let them both relax for an hour before they got up and got dressed.
Before they left the house, Shippo came home. He was happy when he saw them together and when he saw they were leaving and where it was they were going he hurried to join them. They drove in silence with Shippo once in awhile reaching from the back seat to place his hand on Kagome�s shoulder and the odd time when he could Sesshoumaru would placed his hand over hers. It seemed like forever until the shrine finally came into view and the pulled out front. They walked up the steps in silence, none saying a word, and even when they got to the door, they were quiet.
Entering the house, Kagome called out that she was home and that Sesshoumaru and Shippo were with her. Aksumi came out of the kitchen and smiled at them �it�s nice to see you all together again�
�Mama� Kagome nervously spoke; she wasn�t really sure how to do this.
Seeing her troubles, Sesshoumaru spoke �if we could, could we have everyone in the living room? We have something that needs to be said�
Aksumi gave a worried look, but nodded and called for everyone to go into the living room. As she waited she looked at them �it�s nothing serious is it?�
�Nothing serious, but whether you consider it wonderful news or bad news is up to you and everyone else� the taiyoukai replied
Soon everyone was in the living room sitting on the couch, jii-chan in his chair. Sesshoumaru and Kagome stood in front of them, close together. Mr. Higurashi noticed it right away before he glared �why are you standing so close to each other?�
Kagome took a deep breath, he was her biggest worry. She clutched the side of Sesshoumaru and he took that as the signal to speak for her �if you must know, Kagome and I have been seeing each other for sometime�
Looking at her mom, she saw a smile and felt herself smile back. Her mom was okay with it, because she understood �not only that mom; you�re going to be a grandma� she watched as her mother�s face was shocked before a grin spread on her face �I�m going to have a baby�
�Alright I�m going to be an uncle!� Souta shouted as he jumped up.
�You slut�
The room grew quiet as they all turned to one man. He glared at them before he stood up and walked close to the couple, his eyes never leaving hers �you slept with an older man? I have a whore for a daughter and got her self knocked up by an older man?�
Kagome tensed and Sesshoumaru quickly stepped in front with a dangerous glare �I would silence your self; you have no idea who you are dealing with� he watched as the man continued to approach.
He failed to listen to the warning and stepped closer �my daughter became a whore and sleeps with old men� he eyes only focused on one person, he raised his arm and brought it down. Suddenly he heard a vicious growl and his arm was caught in a vice grip and he yelled out in pain.
Sesshoumaru saw he was going to try and hit Kagome and with a feral growled he grabbed the man�s arm with as much strength as possible and gave it a small twist cause the man to cry out �you will not touch her, understand?� his voice deep and threatening.
Mr. Higurashi looked at the hand gripping his arm and saw�claws. His eyes widened as he quickly looked up to see the man before him baring fangs and his eyes were turning red. He heard another dark growl and turned his head to see the boy with his eyes turning red, fangs showing, and his claws looking ready to strike.
Kagome gasped at the sight the two were making. She knew that unlike Inuyasha these two still had control over themselves, for now. It was just when they fully transformed there was more chance to lose all control. But she had never seen Shippo so angry before, showing such hatred towards one person. She knew she had to take control of the situation or someone was going to lose a life tonight, mainly her father�s life was on the line. Even if she did hate him, she wasn�t going to let him get killed by these two �Shippo calm down� she placed her hand on the taiyoukai �you to Sesshoumaru�
Both red faded from their eyes, but they continued to bare their fangs and growl. Her family had watched first in fear for the man�s life, but seeing Kagome telling them to calm down and the red fading from their eye, the family was left stunned at what they saw.
Sesshoumaru slowly released the man�s arm before turning to face his woman. Gently he took her in his arms and held her close �Kagome will be living with me from now on. I will be taking care of her and our child�
Aksumi smiled as she walked up to them, ignoring the man who was sitting still shocked on the floor �I think you will do a fine job, Sesshoumaru�
Jii-chan looked at them from his chair �how is this going to affect your teaching at school when they find out?�
Sesshoumaru smirked �it does not matter; I took the teaching job as a hobby to pass time�
Aksumi looked at him surprised �oh? Then what is it you do?�
�I own a very large and successful company� he replied.
�Yeah� said Shippo as he came up grinning and placing a shoulder on the old woman�s shoulder �Sesshoumaru here is rich, so we�ll be fine�
Kagome raised an eye-brow �we�ll be fine?�
Shippo looked at her shocked �awe come on Kagome, don�t you start that to!�
She laughed as she held on to her youkai. She was starting to like the idea of being a mother again this time to her own child.
�W-what are you people?� his fearful voice broke through, reminding everyone he was still on the floor.
Sesshoumaru looked down at the man with every bit of pride that a lord would hold �I am a taiyoukai�
Shippo gave a mean smirk down at the guy �and I�m just a youkai� he answered �and for the record I don�t appreciate you hurting my mother�
He gasped �m-mother?�
�Yes, my mother� he rested his head on her shoulder �especially after not seeing for so long�
�Shippo!� she spoke sternly.
Sesshoumaru held her hand gently �no I think we should be honest with him; no more secrets while he is staying under this roof� he glanced at the man �besides he says anything to anyone, we can just kill him� earning a glare from his future mate he smirked �well it�s not like many will miss him� seeing her still glaring he scowled �very well then we won�t kill him, it�s not like anyone would believe him�
With that said they all sat down and explained the well, Inuyasha, the shikon no tama, how Kagome met everyone she came to know, how Shippo was only a child then, how much time had passed, the adventures, the battles she fought, everything. At the end her father sat there looking quite stunned, but after witnessing the two that went psycho demon on him, he supposed he would have believe it. He looked at her with new understanding eyes �I guess I missed a lot, I�m sorry for the things I�ve done�
Kagome smiled �it�s okay� and to prove it she walked up to him and gave him a hug.
Everyone turned to look at Sesshoumaru when his cellphone started ringing, he glanced at the caller id before answering it �Taisho speaking�what an unexpected call, I assume there is good reason for it��I see, yes I will meet with you�.very well then I will be there in half an hour�
Hanging up he looked at everyone �it seems the school already knows about Kagome and my self�
Kagome gasped �how?�
�That is what I am going to find out� he replied �that was the principal saying he wants me to meet with him in private before bringing this before the school board, apparently he has proof� he saw the worried look Kagome gave him and he gave her a kiss on the cheek �do not worry, but I should go if I�m going to get there on time, wait here and I�ll tell you what happened when I get back� another kiss and he was heading for the door.
Kagome stood there around her family for a moment before she ran off after him �Sesshoumaru, wait!� she saw him pause and turn to face her as she ran to wrap her arms around him �I love you�
His eyes widened as he looked down at her while his hand went to her chin making her lift her head �say it again�
She smiled at him �I love you�
He smiled as he leaned down his lips just brushing hers �and I love you� he said before his kissed her senseless. He enjoyed the look on her face as he pulled away �now I must go, but I will see you soon�
Pulling up to a small house, Sesshoumaru got out of his car and walked up to the door. Knocking he smirked as he thought about her confession. Something in her changed it was like she wasn�t holding back anymore. It wasn�t him always touching her; she was touching him now and even confessed her love for him. He schooled his face just like back then as the door opened and gave a small nod to the principal of the school. The man was short and fat with little to no hair left on his head and he smelled of booze all the time or sex. All in all, the taiyoukai hated the scent of this man, but he was decent towards him so he never said anything.
�Sesshoumaru, please come in� he spoke as he showed him to a bar that he had in his home �would you care for a drink?�
�I�m afraid I will have to decline� he said as he watched the old man make himself a drink �I would like to see this proof you have�
�It�s over there on the table� the man spoke as he shook his head �I can�t believe this happened, you are my best teacher�
Sesshoumaru walked to the table and picked up the photos. Taking a look he had to hold in a growl. Some where pictures of him and Kagome in the school parking lot by his vehicle hugging and one of him kissing her. Some how there were even pictures of him at the fair with Kagome. But the pictures that made him want to shed blood where the ones of him at home with Kagome. The pictures were clearly taken from outside, but they had good angles. There was on where he was hovering over Kagome while they were on the couch, another of him picking her up and bringing her upstairs. The worst one which is probably what signed the death of the photographer is two separate pictures of the time when he couldn�t resist seeing Kagome in her school outfit and took her in the kitchen. There was a picture of him having her pinned against the fridge while he thrust into her and the other was when he first took her on the counter.
�Who took these photos?� he asked calmly, inside his blood was boiling.
�I cannot say� the principal replied �I promised them I wouldn�t tell�
Sesshoumaru marched up to the man making him take a startled few step backwards �who ever it was invaded my home, my privacy� he glared �if I were you I�d tell me who it was, I plan to pursue legal action against this�stalker!�
�It was Aikido� he answered, sounding defeated
His eyes were cold �that man has been trying to destroy me since I came to work at the school�
�He isn�t the one who slept with a student Sesshoumaru!� the man reasoned.
Sesshoumaru looked at him with that cold stare that used to strike fear in the hearts of many humans �and we all know that Aikido has wanted a high school girlfriend since he came to the school!� he turned away �it does not matter anyways�
�If you put in your notice now� the principal spoke slowly �I�ll let you stay until the end of the year and the girl can stay until she graduates�
The taiyoukai smirked �fine, she graduates this year anyways�
�How could you do it?� he asked �what are her parents going to say when they learn this?�
�They already know� he answered �they know about us because I�ve known that family for years�
The man seemed shocked to hear this news �and they accept this?�
�Yes� he replied �her mother loves the idea, especially since we�ve just learned she is pregnant�
�Pregnant?� he gasped �her parents must be angry about this turn of events�
�From her mother�s reaction I say they�re quite ecstatic about the news� he went and leaned against the bar �she is after all 18 and of consenting age�
�But she is still in school� the man insisted �and it doesn�t look good for a teacher and student to be sleeping together; you have a son right, just out of college?� at the nod, he continued �what does he have to say about you dating a girl that�s young enough for him to date?�
Sesshoumaru smirked at the thought of the incident earlier that night when they both almost lost control of their beastial side �he knows her and loves the idea of her and I together. In fact he was the one pushing for it to happen� he looked at the smelly old man �now that we have that cleared up, are we finished? I have to go pick Kagome and my son up from her mother�s� without waiting for another word he started to leave before grabbing the photos �and I will be taking these with me for evidence to use against Aikido� and left.
When he arrived back at the shrine he heard someone speaking quite harshly before he saw his girl running out of the kitchen and straight into his arms. He looked up to see Shippo standing there looking none to happy to be there. Listening into the kitchen he heard what was being said and growled as he held his girl tightly against him.
�Sesshoumaru you deal with it� the kitsune said angrily �as you�ve said I don�t have your patience� he growled.
Gently Sesshoumaru walked into the house calmly with Kagome still latched to him �Kagome I want you to stay with Shippo� he ordered as he passed her off to the kitsune.
Shippo looked at him �good thing you came back when you did because I was ready to kill him�
�Who says I won�t kill him� he growled as he walked into the kitchen. There he saw Aksumi by the sink with much anger in her eyes which he never thought he�d see. She seemed like such a kind woman and seeing her so angry seemed very unnatural. He turned his head to the side and saw Jii-chan sitting in a chair glaring at the man he used to call son-in-law.
�How can you accept that Kagome is sleeping with a demon?� Mr. Higurashi spoke outraged �and now she is going to bare a demon child? It�s disgusting her baring that creature�s child!�
Sesshoumaru growled darkly making everyone in the room jump �I wouldn�t say another word if I were you�
�Sesshoumaru!� Aksumi said in relief �you�re back�
He glared at the man �seems I�ve come back in time, do you care that you�ve upset your daughter?�
�You�re a monster!� he yelled �a monster that impregnated my daughter!�
He growled �I wouldn�t call her your daughter nor would I call Souta your son. You have not raised them and since your return you have done nothing, but insult them and make them feel worthless!� he took a step forward, his eyes intent on the man �they want nothing to do with you�
Aksumi felt a tear fall down her cheek as she looked at her ex-husband �I should never have let you stay here�
Sesshoumaru looked at her with kind eyes �it is not your fault�
She nodded �it is my fault, I let him stay here, even after I knew what he was doing�
Jii-chan stood up and took Aksumi by the hand �come, let us go upstairs, I�ll draw you a nice hot bath� he looked at the taiyoukai �feel free to do what you must do�
Sesshoumaru gave a nod and watched them leave before turning back to the man �are you happy?�
The man shrinked back a bit, but still shouted out �what kind of a question is that?!�
�You come into this peaceful home� he started, advancing on the man �you start harassing your own children, you yell at them, you make them feel unimportant in this world, you make them question themselves as a person, and� he growled �you hit them�
�So?�
�And you have the nerve to call me a monster?� he raised an eyebrow �we youkai do not hit our offspring we nor do we run out on our responsibility when we�ve sired them� he growled �so you think Kagome is disgusting now that demon seed has infiltrated her womb, but at least she doesn�t have to worry about raising her children alone� he was now standing over the man �I will always be there for her, she will never be alone and my children will always know their father� he bent down so he was face to face with the man �now I remember why I hated you humans, you are the disgusting creatures, at least we youkai hold pride in our heritage and never abandon those who bare our young� he grabbed the man by his shirt and picked him up �I think you�ve over stayed your welcome, pack your things, you are leaving tonight�
Dropping the man at the bottom of the stairs Sesshoumaru turned his attentions to Kagome who was still gripping the kitsune, but her tears were calming. Quietly and calmly he walked over to them before touching her should and moving her into his embrace. He held her close, glancing up, he ordered �go make sure he is packing, I want him finished and out of here within the hour�
Shippo gave a nod and went up stairs. Sesshoumaru then moved Kagome and him self into the living room and sat on the couch. He held her close, enjoying the way she played with his loose hair �do you want the baby?� she asked quietly, sniffling.
He stiffened as he looked down at her �what would make you ask something like that? Of course I want it� he repositioned her so she was in his lap �I don�t ever want to hear you ask me something like that again� he felt her nod against his chest �I love you, and I will love this child�
�I love you too� she attempted to bury herself as close to him as she could and he welcomed it.
They stayed like that in silence for a moment before he quietly asked �what brought on this revelation of love?�
She was quiet a moment, wondering if she should tell him or not �Inuyasha apparently wrote me one more letter. It�s like he knew this thing between me and you was going to happen. The way he spoke in his letter it was if he was here saying it to me face to face, reading my expression, knowing what I was feeling right at that moment�
�And what did his letter say?� he asked gently.
�He basically said that I shouldn�t live in the past, but to live in the here and now� she answered.
�Sesshoumaru?�
Both Kagome and Sesshoumaru turned to see Aksumi standing there. Carefully he set Kagome beside him on the couch before he got up and walked over to her mother �is there a problem?� he asked as he saw the worried look on her face.
Aksumi looked at her daughter as she started watching tv before motioning with her hands for the taiyoukai to follow her slightly out of the way of sight and spoke low �I-I was just wondering, do you think you and Shippo could stay here just for tonight?�
Sesshoumaru glanced up the stairs, his hearing listening if the man was near by, and looked back at her �I assume you are worried he might try and come back tonight�
She gave a worried nod �I�m a little nervous�
�Do not be nervous� he replied �we will stay the night�
She gave a grateful smile �oh thank you, I�m so glade my daughter as you to watch over her�
They went quiet when they heard shuffling upstairs and after a few minutes Shippo came down followed by Mr. Higurashi. Everyone watched as he said nothing while putting on his shoes and then got up to put his coat on. He turned to them and gave a bow before picking up his suit case and walking out the door. The house was silent for a moment before Shippo let out a breath before claiming he was going to go to bed. Aksumi wondered how he knew they were staying, but he just pointed to his hears with a smirk, smiling she showed him to Souta�s room where she had set up a cot for him already.
Sesshoumaru smirked before going to the living room and getting Kagome �we shall retire for the night as well� after goodnights were said they went upstairs to her room to sleep. Once in the bedroom he shut the door and turned to see her stripping down and grabbing her pjs. Quietly he came up behind her before wrapping his arms around her waist �come to bed as you are�
�But what if mama or someone walks in?� she asked
He led her to the bed and made her lay down �we have covers, besides there are no more secrets, everything is out in the open now� he said as the stripped to his boxers and laid down next to her �now let�s sleep�
She blinked; he didn�t want sex from her? That was different, he always wanted sex from her and he made it quite apparent that day in the kitchen that it didn�t matter where they were he was going to get it �how was your meeting with the principal?�
He gave a tiny growl before pulling her closer to him �it seems I will have to set one of the teachers of the school straight�
�What do you mean? Who?� she asked concerned.
He rubbed his head against her arm �One of the teachers invaded my privacy, our privacy. They had taken photos of us when we were together, even ones outside of school like at the fair, including in my house� he growled.
She gasped �who would do that?�
�Aikido Toa� he replied �I will teach him a lesson tomorrow�
�But there�s no school tomorrow�
He chuckled �that does not matter, he invaded the sanctuary of my home� he rolled so he was on top of her �so I will show him what it means to trespass on an inu youkai�s territory uninvited�
�Sesshoumaru, we don�t want the whole world knowing you�re a youkai and a taiyoukai at that� she reasoned.
�It does not matter, no one will believe him� he reasoned as he started kissed her neck.
�What if my dad tells someone?� she groaned as she squirmed beneath him.
He nipped her neck �let him, no one believes youkai live in today�s society� he slipped out of his boxers and placed the tip of his member at her entrance �they will think he�s just some crazy man� seeing she was going to say more he swiftly entered her, cutting off anything she had to say. He thrust hard and fast, his mouth taking in her cries. All too soon he felt his member swell as he found his releases and she found hers. He laid there for a few minutes, letting himself calm down before looking at her tired face.
�That was fast� she commented as he removed himself.
He growled lightly �next time, you mother�s house isn�t exactly the place for those long ones I enjoy� he smirked at her as he pulled her close �now sleep�
The next morning everyone woke relaxed. Nothing had happened that night, but they were still worried something might happen. Sesshoumaru had told them not to worry and then had made a private phone call. Shippo was laughing and joking with Souta while also commenting about what the baby could look like or how it was going to be when it was older. Kagome put an end to that conversation with a swift smack to the head for both of them when both commented the child might end up looking like a deformed freak.
By afternoon, Sesshoumaru figured it was time to go. Aksumi and Kagome had packed most of her clothes and Shippo had put them in the car. It was decided the rest would be gathered at a later time. Having Aikido trespass on their home was enough for the taiyoukai and was decided they would moved somewhere else, so starting as soon as possible he was going house hunting�right after he dealt with Aikido Toa. He was very much looking forward to that.
