Hayato(Falcon): General of Sess’s army. Male. Fire red hair (floor length) 6’ 8”.
Daichi(Falcon): Brother, younger mate of Hayato. Male. Strawberry blond hair (mid-way down back) 6’ 2”.
Etsuo(Snow Leopard): Male. Unusual pale spotted skin, White hair (chin length).
Chikako(Kitsune): Female. Older mate of Etsuo. Sable hair (waist length). Tail.
Fusao(Eagle): Male. Marking of wings across back, about a foot wide. Short spiky black hair w/ purple highlights.
Akiyoshi(Hawk): Female. Younger mate to Fusao. Marking of wings across chest. Pale blond hair (floor length).

Amaya(Small cat (think orange tabby cat): Female. Sesshomaru’s main personnel servant. Light orange hair reaching just below shoulders. Pale green eyes. Very slight build, small in stature, 5’ even. Slender but strong.
Kimiko(Cheetah): Female. Majo. Blond hair, neck length framing face. Golden-yellow cat-slit eyes.
Katsu(Cheetah): Female. Blond hair, mid-calf. Emerald green eyes.

Kumori(Tiger): Male. Eldest, inherited some sorcerer skills. Spiky orange hair with black stripes, almost like a marine corps cut. Longer on top with shaved sides. Stands about 6’ tall with a well-built body. Eyes bright yellow.
Akuma(Leopard): 2nd born. Female. Honey colored hair (shoulder length) amber colored cat-slit eyes. Kinda muscular, thanks to her animal.
Kuriyama(Melanistic (black) Jaguar): 3rd born. Seeress. Female. Black hair with a red tint which is kept very short, kinda like a bob-cut. Pale green eyes. Sleek, toned build.
Neikan(Lion): Youngest. Male. Black to brown hair which reaches to middle back. Hazel eyes flecked with gold. Stands at 6’ 4”, very muscular and very strong.

Reikan no Nakama tachi: Of the soul or spirit; eminent mates or partners.

Sesshomaru’s Castle:
After he had fixed the problem of integrating Inuyasha’s presence into the wards, Daisuke had called The Eight to come his stillroom.
They needed to discuss what they were going to do about the two prisoners. The drug he had injected the majo and her sister with was going to wear off very soon. The healer didn’t know if any other enemies or accomplice’s had been found either.
It was also necessary for them to be informed of the latest developments. Namely, Lord Sesshomaru had been cured and Inuyasha had been the one to accomplish that. Well, they should already know that their Lord was healthy again. There was only one demon which could have let out a roar that shook the entire castle.
Furthermore, the half-demon needed to be introduced to them as soon as possible. The healer looked forward to how the Eight would take the news that the young hanyou was going to be living in the castle from now on.
All of them had at one time or another told their Lord about their displeasure of not bringing his little brother to the castle. Though he had ignored them it didn’t stop them from speaking up. None of them had been intimidated by Lord Sesshomaru.
Daisuke wondered how they would react when they found out that their Lord was going to have the legendary bond. Probably nothing, their only interests would be that the Lord of the Western Lands was going to become stronger and that the lands would be better protected.
One or more of The Eight would probably be assigned as a bodyguard for the young Inu demon, but they would have to see who best suited the boy. Inuyasha would have the final decision (well in reality, Lord Sesshomaru would have the final say) and the guards would have to approve it too. If they didn’t think they would be able to get along with the young demon, none would lie and say that they could.
When the door opened to his stillroom Daisuke was in the middle of re-tying his long gray hair. He didn’t even bother to turn around, he knew it would be The Eight.
“Have any other spies been found besides the two Akiyoshi executed?” The healer questioned.
“None.” Fusao answered.
Turning to face them Daisuke declared, “That’s too bad. Well the sisters’ will be waking up any time now, so a decision must be made soon as to what is going to be done.”
“Interrogation is a necessity in order to find out if there are more spies. With your examination of them, who do you think would be best Daisuke?” Hayato asked the owl, whose centuries’ of wisdom was generally very useful in this type of situation.
“Unfortunately, it is probably going to have to be Lord Sesshomaru. Though I have another in mind which may be better suited, but I doubt the Lord will allow that to happen.” The healer sighed.
“Who would that be? Why would the Lord refuse?” queried Chikako.
“I’ll get to that later. Right now we are waiting for Lord Sesshomaru and a guest. I can guarantee you’ll never guess who.” Daisuke said smiling.
“You of all people should know how we hate surprises.” Hachi replied evenly.
“That’s may be true, but this time you will just have to deal with it. Sorry.” The great gray owl grinned fiercely.
Daisuke couldn’t wait to see what the reaction of The Eight would be. The news coming should stun them all.

The Eight were waiting patiently for the surprise Daisuke was talking about when the door opened. Lord Sesshomaru walked in and behind him followed… Inuyasha?
“Thank all the Gods’, my robes are finally fixed. I swear I felt naked and stupid and… naked.” The hanyou eyes swept the room as he said this, he didn’t care that others’ had heard what he said. It was the truth anyway.
“At some point you will have to wear something other than those robes.” Sesshomaru told the younger man.
“What? Why?”
“Visiting dignitaries, banquets and certain ceremonies will all require more suitable attire.”
“I will not dress up just for hoity-toity assholes. No way, no how, not gonna happen.” Inuyasha stated.
“We shall see, besides I will most likely end up destroying them again at some point.”
“Keh. Horny bast…”
“Holy SHIT!” Daichi’s exclamation halted Sesshomaru and Inuyasha’s conversation mid-sentence.
When Hayato smacked him on the head, the young falcon said “WHAT? Like you didn’t think the exact same thing?! Lord Sesshomaru is back to normal and… and it’s HIM! Alright, no lying… show hands.”
Daisuke stood grinning at what was happening.
Daichi, Etsuo, Chikako, Fusao, Akiyoshi and surprisingly, Arashi all raised their hands. Only Hayato and Hachi didn’t, but they were the most serious of the group. Looking at the other the ones with their arms raised, all laughed.
The young hanyou looked totally confused.
“Ignore them, Inuyasha. It’s a game... Daichi made it up. Who has the same thought as the others? Self-explanatory really.” Daisuke answered the unasked question. The Eight looked at the healer like he was insane. Smiling, Daisuke immediately knew why. “Inuyasha does not wish to be called Lord. So in private it is okay, though in the presence of others’ he will have to deal with it.”
“Understood.” Hayato answered for the group. Everyone nodded in agreement, respect in their eyes.
From what the young demon could read in their body language and eyes, NOBODY had ever done that before. Inuyasha was dumbfounded and blushed slightly.
Sesshomaru went to the only chair in the room and sat down. Inuyasha perched on the arm and laid a hand on his brothers crossed legs, his thumb lightly stroking.
As The Eight looked on in disbelief, Sesshomaru arrogantly lifted an eyebrow as if daring them to say something. Knowing he was the center of attention didn’t seem to bother the younger demon in the least.
“Soooo… Inuyasha let me introduce you. These demons are Lord Sesshomaru’s greatest warriors, known simply as The Eight. Starting at the left is Chikako, a kitsune. Next to her is her mate, Etsuo a snow leopard. Then it’s Hayato, the Shogun of Lord Sesshomaru’s army, a falcon, mated to Daichi who is also a falcon. Hachi is a wolf and his mate is Arashi who is an assassin demon. Last is Fusao who is an eagle and his mate Akiyoshi is a hawk. Everyone this is Inuyasha, Lord Sesshomaru’s little brother and future mate.”
Inuyasha blushed slightly and Sesshomaru just smiled. Then the young youkai’s thoughts scattered as a conversation started that only he could hear.

In his mind, Inuyasha screamed at the top of his lungs. “SHUT THE FUCK UP!”
Blessed silence. Shit, were they going to fight every damn time? Rubbing his forehead, grimacing slightly Inuyasha tried to ease the tension in his head.
“Yasha?” Sesshomaru’s laid a hand on the younger man’s shoulder.
“Ahh, sorry. They woke up.” Inuyasha said tapping his temple with a finger.
“Unfortunately, both of Inuyasha’s sides have a voice and they bicker like children.” Sesshomaru explained to the others’.

~I resent that!~
“Be QUIET!” Inuyasha said silently and then out loud, “Did you really have to say it like that? You’re making it worse.” The daiyoukai only shrugged.
“You have two? Poor you.” Daichi, the most outspoken of The Eight responded.
“Yeah, thanks.”
“Soooo… what were they fighting about?” The young falcon inquired.
“You are entirely too curious.” Hayato said with a sigh.
“Didn’t you tell me questions are how we learn and grow?” was the cheeky reply.
“Remind you of anyone?” Sesshomaru asked softly, smiling slightly.
“Shut up. Well… my youkai thinks you’re cool and my human thinks you’re scary, so naturally they needed to argue about it.”
“Look on the bright side… at least they’re not stupid.” Chikako said smiling.
“True.” Inuyasha smiled back.
Continuing Daisuke said, “Getting on with things… It seems Lord Sesshomaru and Inuyasha are going to become… Reikan no Nakama tachi.”
“Figures.” Daichi snorted and received another smack… “DAMN IT… will you stop doing that, who wasn’t thinking it? Hands?” All of them were raised this time, even the General’s. “If you thought it why did you hit me?”
“Just because it is thought does not mean it needs to be said aloud.” Hayato replied.
Looking back to his Lord, “Lord Hiroaki will protest even though he is an ally.” He said uneasily.
Sesshomaru eyes hardened, “I do not plan on asking permission.”
Inuyasha asked, “Umm, why would he object if he supports Sess?”
Everyone looked uncomfortable but finally Daichi spoke up. “The Firebird wants Lord Sesshomaru for himself.”
“It is an unrequited love, it was never an issue for me. Hiroaki feelings are his problem, not mine.” Sesshomaru said evenly.
“PLEASE, please tell me that you did not sleep with him?” Inuyasha asked, figuring that would make the situation that much harder to deal with.
“NO! His love prevented me from doing anything. I am not that heartless.”
“Really?” came the shocked response from Inuyasha. While Sess glared at him, Inuyasha glanced back to the others’ and said, “Hands?” Daichi, Chikako, Fusao and Akiyoshi all lowered the heads and raised their hands. The healer, elder falcon, snow leopard, wolf and assassin demon looked on in amazement.
It seemed it wouldn’t take long for Inuyasha to be integrated into the group.
Inuyasha and the ones with raised hands laughed slightly. Sesshomaru did not look happy at the comeback. The young demon thought that he would be able to bond with these demons very easily. While thinking that…
“Well then, thank all the Gods for small favors. But… can I ask why not? Is he not your type? By the way, what exactly is your type?” the younger man said.
“Apparently, I am looking at it.” Sesshomaru said frowning at Inuyasha.
“Ohhh… Well… Mmmm…” said Inuyasha and turned beet red.
Well, this was the first time Sesshomaru had seen his little brother at a loss for words. Turnabout was fair play after all and Inuyasha had done this to him who knew how many times now.
He also wondered if his brother realized he had been continuously petting him the entire time they had been here. Sesshomaru sincerely doubted it.
“Yes, but Lord Raiden will work on getting Lord Hiroaki to accept it.” Daichi said, trying to come to the young demons aid.
“Again, why?” Inuyasha questioned, trying to gather his composure.
“Ahh… well, the Thunderbird wants the Firebird.”
“REALLY? Is everyone in a unrequited love?” A shocked Inuyasha asked.
“It does seem that way, doesn’t it? Well, no matter. Moving on, Lady Kaminari will probably help from behind the scenes. She will do anything for her brother.” Akiyoshi said, joining the conversation. Looking at Inuyasha, seeing he seemed puzzled, she explained, “Lord Raiden is her brother and she worships him. He raised her after their parents were killed in some stupid accident. Their death was no great loss, probably spared that girl a hellish future.”
“Akiyoshi, that’s enough.” Fusao said softly.
“Hmph.” The hawk responded. The look in her eyes said that she would explain everything to him later. Inuyasha nodded his head once in acceptance. Akiyoshi smiled slightly at his movement. He had caught the message she sent him right away. She thought that this demon was more than he appeared to be even though he was so young.
“Enough, with the exception of those in this room everyone else will find out after the bond has been established. It will be hard to oppose if it has already been done.” Sesshomaru said with absolute authority.
“As you say, Lord Sesshomaru.” All knew when he used that tone nothing would get him to change his mind. “By the way, the prisoners are going to wake very soon, either late tonight or early tomorrow. Daisuke seems to think you would do, but the best suited for the interrogation is apparently someone else he has in mind.” Hayato stated.
“That is absolutely out of the question. I will be the one to do it.” Sesshomaru said glaring at the healer.
“Who do you think he has in mind, Sess?” Inuyasha asked quietly. “Who do you think is so weak that they have need of your protection? And for the record, if you say me… I am going to kick your ass.”
All the others’ in the room stared in shock (with the exception of Daisuke) they had never heard anyone speak to their Lord that way. All waited for their Lord’s response to that blatant challenge.
“Fine, but I will not allow you to go in alone. Arashi and Hayato will be in the room with you at all times.” Sesshomaru replied firmly. “This is not an option, consider it an order.”
Golden eyes rolled in annoyance, “Yeah, yeah, whatever. So why me?”
“I have a feeling your spiritual power will be of assistance. Don’t have a clue as to how though.”
“That’s a great help. Thanks, Daisuke. Really, you’re just too good to me.” Inuyasha made his irritation clear.
“Ohh, another professional sarcastic. He should fit in perfectly.” Etsuo spoke up for the first time.
Everyone laughed at that and Daisuke said, “Well they all use it, frequently in fact.”
“May I ask you something, Inuyasha?” Arashi politely asked.
“Of… of course.” He wondered what in the world it could be?
“Why do you keep staring a Hachi so strangely?” came the unexpected question.
“I was? Sorry, he reminds me of a friend.” Inuyasha suddenly smiled. “Well not quite, he hasn’t said anything and Kouga can’t seem to shut up.”
“Kouga, Leader of the Wolf-Demon clan?” Hachi inquired, finally speaking.
“Yeah, you know him?”
Arashi laughed, jerking a thumb at Hachi then back to himself, “He’s our cousin.”
“Really? Are you sure? That mangy wolf is nothing like either of you that I can see.”
“Mangy?” Hachi rumbled. Arashi put a hand on his mates arm.
Sesshomaru broke into the conversation, “Do not take it to heart, Hachi. Kouga also has a name for Inuyasha, I think it is… mutt face?”
As the others’ in the group laughed, Hachi’s tension left him.
“Did you really have to tell them that?”
“I believe I did.” was all Sesshomaru said.
“Asshat.” Inuyasha said under his breath.
Everyone in the room heard that comment and desperately tried to hold back their laughter. Daisuke was the only one not able to fully control himself, a small snigger escaped. What the heck was an asshat?
Sesshomaru glared at everyone equally, he knew they had overheard Inuyasha’s remark. He was not entirely pleased about it either.
Inuyasha just smiled.
Everyone had gone back to the discussing who would accept and support Sesshomaru and who wouldn’t. This seemed to be utterly pointless to him. Why didn’t they…
Raising a hand, Inuyasha waited until he was noticed. When he had everyone’s attention he said, “Can’t we just replace the counselor’s?”
“That’s almost impossible without a very good reason and at this moment we do not have one.” Hayato said, sounding almost like a teacher.
“But… but… they didn’t offer assistance when Daisuke asked for help in finding a cure for Sess. They didn’t do anything. Didn’t they swear fealty to their Lord? Isn’t that treason?” Inuyasha asked passionately. As the others’ looked at him with astonishment, the young man continued.
“You don’t abandon pack when they’re hurt… you… you do everything in your power to save them! That’s basic!”
“Out of the mouths of babes…” Daisuke whispered reverently.
“Oh yeah, I’m gonna like him... a lot.” Daichi said under his breath. Inuyasha didn’t seem to hear but everyone else certainly did. While Lord Sesshomaru and Daisuke looked on every one of The Eight nodded their head in accord.

After they had left the others’ and gone back to their room, Sess turned unexpectedly serious.
“What? What is it?”
“When we bond, I want you to be the one taking me.” The daiyoukai said softly.
“Kami, Sess… I really, truly love you!” That his brother would do this for him caused Inuyasha’s eyes to fill.
Sesshomaru knew his decision was the right one when his saw his otouto’s eyes water. He needed to put Inuyasha first in all things. His future mate’s well-being and happiness was to be his top priority. Nothing and no one would come before Yasha.
Almost overwhelmed with joy, Inuyasha thought furiously of how to reply. It would be incredibly difficult with Sess standing at 5’10” and him at 5’6”. It was a lovely gesture though and he needed to convey that.
“Seriously, thank you for the thought. I would really love to, but I’m pretty sure the height difference will make that almost physically impossible. Unless you would like my mark upon your chest?”
Groaning slightly, Sesshomaru said, “I did not even think of that. You are right… Gods, it seems I cannot do anything for you. I am a, what was it again… an idjit?”
Vehemently Inuyasha replied, “You are NOT! Trying to put ME before all else makes me incredibly happy! If I could I would, but it’s not in the cards.” Raising one eyebrow, he finished. “Plus, it’s not like I don’t like being taken.”
“A compromise then… You will make love to me first and then we will bond when I am making you mine? Is this agreeable?” The Lord of the Western Lands inquired, golden eyes staring intently.
Inuyasha couldn’t hold back the tears at that question.
“Gods, Sess you are the absolutely perfect mate! Who knew?”
“I do not think it was vital to add that last part.” Sesshomaru said crossly.
Laughing, Inuyasha pushed Sesshomaru down on the bed, “It totally was! Who knew you could be so sweet? I’ve only ever seen you be kind to Rin and even that you try to hide. So I’m just really… happy.”
“So what should we do now, hmm?” Sesshomaru rubbed his thumb across the young demons lips.
Inuyasha opened his mouth and drew in Sess’s thumb, biting it just short of where it would be painful and then soothing it by sucking the digit deeper.
The daiyoukai breath hitched at his brother’s action. Sometimes his Inuyasha was entirely too seductive.
Pulling Sess’s hand from his mouth, he licked the palm and asked, “How about I take the lead this time?”
Sesshomaru slightly shivered at his brother’s husky voice, “As you wish.”
“Then… strip.” Inuyasha ordered.
The daiyoukai thought the younger demon seemed to be more intense than usual. He deliberated whether he should comply with Inuyasha’s demands. The expectation surging throughout his body made the decision for him. Removing his clothes, he waited patiently for instruction.
“I want you to lie along the edge of the bed.” Inuyasha was amazed at Sess’s submission, that he would do this was an incredible turn-on. The youkai planned on doing what had happened in one of his dreams. Thank all the Gods’ he was limber, otherwise this would never work. He wondered what Sess would think of it? Well, he’d find out soon enough.
When Sesshomaru saw that Inuyasha was about to blind-fold him, he tensed somewhat. He saw his brother pause at his slight stiffening, then remembered that he trusted him completely. Knowing that Yasha would never hurt him allowed Sesshomaru to fully relax. After his eyes were bound, he heard claws being bitten off and the anticipation was almost more than he could bear.
“For now just lie there, feel and enjoy.” When his lips were suddenly claimed in a deep kiss, it was a surprise.
Not knowing what was coming next heightened the pleasure received. Sesshomaru lightly raked claws over Yasha’s back, needing to touch a least some part of him.
Inuyasha slide a tongue along his brother’s cheek stripes, then next licked his pointed ear and then down his neck, nipping lightly. Eventually, he moved to his mouth to those enticing nipples and down Sesshomaru perfectly defined abs. The moans he heard were causing his lust to sky-rocket. Damn it, hold on…he really needed to hold on.
Dropping to his knees, he whispered softly, “Turn on your side, Sess.”

Leaning forward, the young demon licked across his brother’s hip stripes then lightly nipped his ass.
“Yasha... move. Now.” Sesshomaru panted harshly.
“Shit, Sess you’re just too damn sexy. We haven’t even got to the good part yet.”
Sesshomaru wondered what in the world Inuyasha could be talking about, he could barely process everything he was feeling now. When a hand engulfed his cock and his brother moved forcibly, he groaned loudly
“Uhhh …ch… too much.”
“Not enough!” With his left hand still inside and his right hand wrapped around Sess, he moved up and over until his head was supported by the bed. Lining his brother’s dick up with his mouth he thrust forward hard, which allowed him to swallow Sesshomaru completely.
“Yasha… wha… how? GODS!” the daiyoukai screamed in pleasure.
Repeatedly plunging into Sess, Inuyasha concentrated on his fangs. He didn’t want to injure his brother, especially there. It was getting harder to focus though, he was very close to cumming.
Sesshomaru groaned continually, his whole body felt afire. As the incredible pleasure came to a climax, the Lord of the Western Lands roared his release. One last thought went through his mind. Only, ever this one.

In the East:
Kumori and Akuma had finally come back to the castle after their prolonged absence. Once Kuriyama had told them that the two cheetah sisters’ had been captured and Sesshomaru appeared to be cured, both had seemed furious when they heard the news. They were determined to go to the next stage of the plan and whole-heartedly agreed with Neikan’s idea to change the focus to Inuyasha.
Kumori was going to create a new spell which would make the target (Inuyasha) completely human. It should also put him in a comatose-like state. The young hanyou would be totally helpless as a human because Sesshomaru hated them with his entire being.
Kuriyama was not sure what had made them want to become part of the decisions again. Once they had learned that Inuyasha’s appearance in the castle coincided with Sesshomaru’s recovery, both were filled with hatred and rage.
The jaguar was afraid that the two of them were becoming unstable. With Akuma, she figured it was that the hanyou was close to the one she loved. Kumori attitude was something else altogether and she could not imagine what could be the cause of his fury.
The problem with the plan was that it required time to implement.

The woodland was utterly silent until a pained scream resounded thru the trees. Bright red blood stained the forest floor. A leopard roared in triumph.
Damn it, she had taken down three deer already and her bloodlust was not letting up. When the hell was this going to end? Just thinking Inuyasha’s name had caused her to turn her homicidal. Who had cured Sesshomaru? It was supposed to be her, no one else. Son of a bitch, she was truly pissed.
She had transformed into her cat in order to get a hold of her emotions. A leopard had few sentiments. Sleep, hunt, eat and survive was basically all there was to it. Unfortunately, it didn’t work exactly the way she hoped. Other instincts had come to the surface, her rage had turned into something downright savage.
After the last kill, the leopard was running full out trying to utterly exhaust herself. When Akuma was killing, she had imagined her claws and teeth were tearing into Inuyasha. Little bastard dared to remain in her love’s presence.
However long it took, she would obtain what she wanted. No one would ever claim what was meant to be hers.
They would die first.
A challenging roar sounded throughout the forest.

The tiger stormed back to his rooms in a rage. Who the hell had cured Sesshomaru? It should not have been possible without the antidote. So just what the hell had happened?
Entering his stillroom, Kumori went to the cabinet that held all his potions and remedies. Upon opening it the first thing he saw was the cure, so it had not been taken and used. He did not understand this, why was this happening to him?
How dare that insufferable hanyou get close to his love? Didn’t he realize he was not fit to be beside Sesshomaru? HOW DARE HE?
Low-throated growls were resonating throughout the room. If he kept this up, pretty soon he’d be roaring.
“Gods damn it, concentrate! This spell will guarantee that Inuyasha is out of Sesshomaru’s life FOREVER!” This would absolutely be the end to the brothers’ reunion. No one would EVER be able to take what would be HIS place by Sesshomaru’s side.
But first, he needed to calm down. Gods, he wished he could just make a spell that would kill Inuyasha instantly. That would certainly draw unwanted attention though.
Picturing Sesshomaru holding the lifeless body of his brother, Kumori laughed in delight, trying to control his giddiness.
He imagined his love would thank him one day for ridding him of the useless hanyou. Yes, all he needed to do was use that as a focus and his mind became crystal clear.
Rejuvenated, the tiger got to work.

Kagome was back after the trip to her time. Her supplies included what she had stolen from her part-time volunteer work at a veterinarian office and a stun gun. Getting the other’s to agree to a visit was going to be the hardest part.
Well, maybe not… if they hadn’t seen or heard anything from the half-demon, then they would probably agree with her decision to visit. Curiosity would be the biggest draw. They all needed to know how Inuyasha was.
The miko wondered if Rin would voice any objection. She doubted it, but it was still slight possibility. If the little girl knew what was good for her, she would keep her mouth shut. Kagome needed to come up with a reason not to let Rin come with the group as well. Well the standard, it’s too dangerous for a little girl would most likely work. If not, she was sure she could come up with something.

Entering the village, Kagome saw people here and there. It was getting dark though, so most were already in their huts. Demons roamed the nights here. Jesus, she wished Inuyasha would just give in and come back with her to her time. A baseball cap hid his ears, so she didn’t understand was the big deal was.
Man, he was really beginning to tick her off. He had begun to avoid her lately, she could tell. Kagome had tried to seduce him countless times now, without success. Just what the hell was his problem? Didn’t he love her? He was supposed to be hers and nobody else’s. Now he had disappeared without waiting for her return. To Sesshomaru, of all the demons in the world, why him? No note, no message, no nothing. God, he was such a jerk.
Kagome took a couple deep breaths as she neared Kaede’s hut. She needed to get rid of her anger, fast. No one else must find out what she kept hidden. She still wasn’t positive how Rin had found out, but she supposed it had something to do with the little girl’s spiritual power.
A catalyst huh, Kagome wondered if borrowing another’s power was all she could do? Somehow she doubted it, there had to be more to it than that. Because Kagome knew for a fact that Kaede suspected nothing, so there must be more to Rin than what you could see.
Walking into the hut, she saw Kaede but no Rin.
“Kagome what a nice surprise, welcome back child. It has been a while, has it not?” The priestess said with a grin.
“Yes, it has. It’s good to be back. I’ve missed you, Kaede and the others’. How are they by the way? Good, I hope.” Mentally rolling her eyes at the chit-chat, she really hated doing this. So very boring.
“Well, Shippo still attends school. Miroku and Sango are well and their children seem to grow bigger each time I see them. Their twins are a real handful.” The older priestess chuckled.
“Yes, from what I had seen last time, they really are.” Jeez, that was enough. Turning her face serious she asked, “Has anyone heard from Inuyasha yet?”
“Unfortunately no, nothing at all. It has not been that long though, so it could be that it just too soon.” Kaede face reflected that she missed the young youkai.
“Do you think the others’ would be up for a trip then? I mean, I’m worried because let’s face it… Sesshomaru can’t be considered the most trustworthy of demons. Inuyasha could have walked into a trap for all we know.” The miko stated.
“Inuyasha should still be in the midst of his journey. I do not think we need to be concerned just yet, child. The others’ may have a different opinion though. By the by, Rin shall be back at any time and we can have a good supper before bed. Kohaku and Kirara are visiting tonight, so you will be able to speak to the others’ on the morrow.” The old priestess finished with smile.
“Wise as always, Kaede. That’s what I will do then. Do your need any help with dinner?” Kagome asked, trying not to grit her teeth at what the old hag had said. She was beginning to realize that hiding her true self was becoming harder and harder every day.
“Nay, child. Just rest until Rin returns, you must be tired.”
Kagome leaned against the wall and closed her eyes, feigning sleep. She wondered if Rin would be able to hold back her dislike in front of everyone. Most likely, from what the miko had observed she had one of the best poker faces around.
When she heard Rin enter the hut, Kagome still pretended to be asleep.
“Ahh, I see Kagome has returned. Did you tell her nothing has been heard?” the young girl asked.
“Yes, but she is still concerned. I admit I am as well, though I know it is too soon but my heart does not want to listen. Her main worry seems to be Lord Sesshomaru though.” Kaede answered.
“Did she say why? The brothers’ are on better terms now, so what could be the problem?”
The priestess pondered this question for a minute and responded, “It could be that she cannot forget what Lord Sesshomaru has done to Inuyasha and the group in the past. Kagome may never completely trust him.”
“Well if that’s all it is, she has no need to fear that Lord Sesshomaru will hurt Inuyasha.” The newest priestess said softly.
“You cannot know that for a fact, Rin.” Kaede said while stirring the soup that was simmering on coals.
Making sure the older priestess’ focus was on the task at hand, Rin answered, “Actually, I do know without a doubt that Lord Sesshomaru will do everything within his power to keep Inuyasha from harm.”
Kagome’s eyes opened at that and she found the young girl staring straight at her.
Rin smiled slightly as the miko looked at her, “If necessary, that will include killing.”

The next morning Kagome woke to find that Kaede and Rin were already gone. The young priestess had sounded extremely confident about what Sesshomaru would do. She couldn’t know for certain if the girl was right, but it had shaken her. What did Rin know that she didn’t? Forget it, she would find out soon enough if the brat was right.
Exiting the hut, Kagome started towards Miroku and Sango’s house.
Spotting Sango, she hurried up to her. Kagome needed to know where Rin was. She could be talking about things she shouldn’t.
The ex-demon slayer smiled as she saw Kagome approach. When Sango hugged her it was returned automatically. The miko rolled her eyes at this usual greeting.
“I have heard from Kaede that you wish to check on Inuyasha? I have discussed this with Miroku and we agree this is a good idea. We know Kaede is not worried, but we are so… we will accompany you to Sesshomaru’s castle.”
“Thank God! I can’t understand why Kaede is not more concerned. I mean this is Sesshomaru we’re talking about. I seriously doubt he has changed completely, so he can still be considered a danger.” The miko said anxiously.
“Then we shall leave in two days’ time, in order to gather all the supplies we will need. In fact Miroku left to do that, just now. Rin asked if we needed any extra herbs for the trip, so they went to the storage room.” She had no idea she had just dropped a bombshell.
Clenching her jaw, Kagome muttered, “Is that so?”

Once she knew that the monk and ex-slayer planned on going with Kagome, Rin purposely brought Miroku to the herb hut. She must let someone know the truth before they traveled to meet Inuyasha.
“We must hurry, she will come soon.” Rin said quietly, looking behind then as if waiting.
“What? Who are you talking about Rin?” Miroku asked.
“I know that you may not wish to take the words of a little girl as a warning, but I really hope you will at least listen to what I have to say.”
“Of course I will. Rin, what is wrong? What is it?” The monk was getting more confused by the minute.
“Time’s up. You need to watch her, Miroku. Watch her carefully.” The young miko whispered softly.
“Wha… Who?” Damn it, he did not understand anything.
“School your face, monk. She’s here.” The words were almost inaudible. Grabbing herbs from the back shelf, Rin turned to the monk and in a normal tone of voice asked, “Do you think this will be enough? We haven’t stocked up in a while.”
Miroku noticed her eyes were pleading with him to act natural. Shit, what the hell? Fine, he’d play along. “I’m sure this will be sufficient. I can always collect more on the journey.”
Light flooded in from the doorway of the hut. Miroku saw that Rin was completely composed as she looked towards whoever had come into the hut. He did see a minute tightening at the corner of her eyes though. Holding his hands out for the herbs, he almost dropped them when he heard the other speak.
“Did you get what you came for, Miroku?”
Making sure he showed nothing, even though his heart felt frozen, the monk turned around.
“Yes, I have everything we need… Kagome.”

Ohhhh, someone’s busted!? Maybe… who really knows? I sure as hell don’t! I know some of what is coming but not all… is that weird?
Whatever… OK, as to the sex scene… remember there were no box springs back then… so it’s totally possible as I see it.
