Kagome scrubs the Haori against the washing board, elbow deep in herb filled water. She sits back on her heels and looks up at the blue sky with a loud sigh.
‘Why does every male in this village seem to roll around in the dirt?’ she thinks exasperatedly before leaning over to begin scrubbing clothes again, with the other women surrounding the large bin. Unbeknownst to her, a group of village men are watching her from the side of a hut, watching her butt sway and bob up and down as she scrubs vigorously.
One of them grins when a young boy runs up with an armful of clean clothes, “throw it in the mud puddle” he says pointing to the brown murky water, his eyes never leaving Kagome’s round rump.
When the clothes are nice and muddy he gathers them up in his arms and walks over to kagome and the other women. He drops them down next to Kagome and grins, “there you go Kagome.”
Kagome glances at the load of laundry her eyes bulging, “What the heck! I swear you all roll around in the mud!” she cries.
One of the mothers across from Kagome snickers, “I’m sure they do!” She grins slyly at Kagome who looks confused.
Hojo walks around a corner and he sees the group of men sitting by the hut and walks over to them, “hey what are you guys doing?” he asks following there line of sight, his eyes bulge and his hands fly to his nose as he falls over.
The men laugh loudly and begin teasing him as he gets up shakily his face bright red as he points a shaky finger at them, “I-It‘s rude to gaze upon a maiden as such!”
“What maiden?” Kagome asks from behind him having come over in search of more herbs to clean the clothes.
“Yes Hojo, what maiden?” the men ask grinning at the boy, knowing that if he tattled it would look like he was doing it too.
Hojo splutters before shaking his head vigorously and running in the other direction. Kagome’s mouth drops open in shock, usually she has to run from him not the other way around. Her brows furrows in confusion, this whole week has been odd. Tomorrow is when Sesshomaru is due to get her; Kagome rolls her eyes, as if she would go with such an arrogant male.
She walks back to women and picks up the washed clothes and begins hanging them to dry. She is securing the last pair of hakkama when she feels something overwhelm her; it’s a very dark feeling. Her eyes turn north as she feels an odd sense of déjà vu and fear wash over her.

A figure covered in a white baboon pelt gazes at the small village with interest.
‘So this is where she has been hidden from me’
He smiles cruelly under his mask as he turns his head slightly to acknowledge the group of demons behind him.
“Kill them all, but leave the girl I showed you. She is mine.”

Kagome walks back towards her hut with a basket filled with washed and dried clothes. She pushes past the bamboo mat covering the doorway and calls out, “Kaede! Shippo! I’m back!” Shippo peeks out from his room and grins.
“Mama! Look what Shou gave me!” he says holding out a wooden sword as another little boy peeks out of his room as well and waves excitedly.
Kagome’s smiles at Shippo when he calls her mama, he had taken to calling her that a few days ago. Kagome gasps when the basket gets immensely heavier and looks over to see her obese cat staring at her from the basket and he cuddle in the clothes.
“No Buyo!” kagome squeals dropping the basket and swinging the cat out and into her arms, “I just washed those, no cat hair” she says touching his nose with her finger tip and kicking the basket into her room.
She drops onto one of the pillows in the corner and sets Buyo down next to her before picking up a scroll she had been reading. She hums softly as Buyo purrs next to her when she hears the first scream.
Her head shots up and she leaps to her feet and runs to the door, grabbing her bow and arrows as she throws the bamboo mat out of the way. Horror fills her as she takes in the destruction going on in her village.
“Mama?” Shippo asks weakly from behind her with Shou next to him, both of their eyes wide with fear.

“Stay inside” Kagome’s says as she pulls back the string of her bow and arrow, and lets the arrow fly into the closest demon which was about to kill a screaming woman.
“Everyone! Get to safety!” Kaede is screaming as she shoots arrows into the swarm of demons entering the village.
Kagome races away from the hut calling out that all of the children are to retreat to her hut, as she shoots an arrow into a demon about to rip the head off of a young man. She runs over to him killing demons along the way before dropping to her knees next to him, “are you alright?”
He nods shakily and kagome grabs his face between her hands, “listen, I need you to gather a small group and go to the house of inu and ask for help, can you do that?” He nods and kagome says, “take horses so you may get there quicker, hurry!” She jumps up and shoots an arrow at a demon that had ran at them screeching like a banshee.
The man runs off and kagome sighs in relief before running back to her hut to make sure everyone is ok. She walks in and sees a group of mothers, pregnant women, and their children, along with Shippo and Shou, huddled in the far corner. Kagome is walking around checking for injuries when a silky voice from the entrance purrs, “ahh there you are.”

Sesshomaru looks around Kagome’s room making sure it’s’ perfect. He nods before spinning on his heel and walking through the door connecting her room to his and walking into his private study. He was reading a request from one of the other lords when his father bursts into his study.
“Sesshomaru! Kagome’s village is under attack!” He says not even able to finish his sentence before Sesshomaru is pushing past him and racing out of the huge manor.
‘Our mates in trouble! Hurry go faster!’ Sesshomaru’s beast roars in his head as Sesshomaru’s eyes begin to bleed red and his body begins to shift to his true form, his beast taking over.
‘Who ever has done this will pay’
‘Agreed’
