Anna rode Kirara till they got on the beach, for she knew the people whose have sheltered her must be close. During the traject, the lass thought about the last conversation with Sesshomaru and couldn't help but feel anguished with his theory.
You are Naraku's weakness.
So the memory of the last time they've been together crossed her mind, and she didn't feel the same insane fury from before, part of that hellish sentiment should be the Shikon's shard work, however, sadness still darkened her semblance. Anna inhaled deeply, restraining her heart's will of bringing back the oldest moments cherished with the arachnid. A certain night in a cave, before she has suffered any Jewel's influence, troubled her spirit all of sudden.
"Faster, Kirara!" The lass sunk her face on the furry pelt of the demon and embraced her tight.
Soon the sound of waves hitting against rocks reverberated. From the heights, she gazed at the beautiful landscape. Ahead of the shore, in a high, bosky place there were some wooden houses, then humble huts ahead of the hills, not so far from the beach.
Convicted that she would find her friends, Anna asked Kirara to leave her nearby the buildings, then she touched her forehead on the feline's and caressed behind it's black ears, the yokai purred in response, grateful for such gentleness, that was how they parted.
Finally, Annabelle carefully climbed the trail of rocks and immediately recognized the villagers who were working on building more homes.
"Shinrinko is back!" Yoru's voice announced as she ran to her dearest friend and circled the foreigner's waist tightly. Soon Himawari and Motoko came, also glad to see her again.
Anna held the three girls a plenty of times before asking how their travelling time has been, how those days felt like, how long did they take to get to the shore, and then she invited them to take a walk on the beach. The lass could barely wait to feel the salty waters once more. That said, before they start their little trip, she asked about the elder Keiko and Yoru sighed, appearing to be depressed.
"What happened?" Anna stroked the little girl's black hair.
"Lady Keiko passed away." Himawari told, lowering her eyes to the earth.
"Oh, no..." Annabelle touched her own cheek, feeling an ache inside her heart.
"Her time has come, Shinrinko." One woman said. "Worry not, she left during her sleep, as serene as she always has been."
"Her grave is on the way to the beach, we can pass over there if you wish." Motoko touched the foreigner's shoulder and smiled tenderly. Annabelle nodded in agreement.
They walked through bushes and rocks, into the wood there was a little water hole, next to it's edge a pile of stones represented Keiko's tomb, colorful fresh flowers still adorned the mount of earth which would harbor her body endlessly.
Belle touched the little petals and closed her eyes, then her hand laid on the earth while she breathed in profoundly, captivating the essence of every living thing surrounding her. The cycle of the woman who has sheltered her was fulfilled, and now new ones would begin. A single tear poured from one turquoise, then the lass got up, accepting Mother Nature's design.
"Let's go then..." she called the others and together they wandered for a while, till getting to the blueish shore which contoured the continent.
Anna smiled as her lungs were filling themselves with the maritime breeze and scent. Soon her dress and corset were over the white sand, and she raised the white chemise to her knees before running to the sea and jump short waves. Finally, she washed her face, then her arms and chest.
"Did you see Shinrinko's clothes?" Motoko asked the other girls.
"Yes, they are different but pretty!" Yoru said while admiring the clear blue dress thrown over the milky ground.
"Her name is not Shinrinko, I already told you." Himawari corrected both, crossing her arms. "She is called Anaberu."
The three looked at each other, then gazed at the lass throwing drops of water above like an amazed child.
"Won't you come? The sea is so calm today!" Anna gestured an invitation with a hand.
Without thinking much, the younger girls laughed and ran to the water. Himawari took more time though, and went there walking quietly.
This is it... Annabelle looked at the daily sky crossing the horizon line. Beyond that oceanic vastness, somewhere there was her beloved Scotland. In theory, nothing more should bind her to this land...
You are alive! Then she remembered his exasperation, the warmth of his arms and the panting breath. She recalled Inuyasha saying he couldn't give up on making Naraku pay, and no other enemy of his would indeed let him be.
It's his destiny, Naraku has it coming. She closed her eyes and tried to impede her breathing to accelerate. I am part of this tale no more. At last, Annabelle dove into the water, as if it could wash her past away.

Shikon no Tama almost complete laid on his pallid hand, even darken that it was before. Naraku was staring at his on reflection inside the gemstone, as if he was locked inside of it. In a certain way, his very soul couldn't help but be a prisoner not only of his own greed, but also of that crowd of untiring voices sounding from the pearl's depths.
He has gone so far and still had no idea of where he wanted to get.
The Spider gazed at his other hand, still able to feel the softness of flaming locks sliding through his fingers. His bluish eyelids sealed while he inhaled the air, reminding the flowery scent, then the delicacy of her skin. He could still feel her into his arms, so warm and vulnerable. If there was a chance, he would prolong that memento till the end of his existence.
If the voices into the jewel were telling him to let her go, the voices from the many yokai which composed Naraku were begging him to go to the lass again, almost making him forget the repulse within Annabelle's eyes and actions.
Almost...
Never... nevermore! Her resentful speech echoed into his ears, he slid a hand over his face remembering the saliva soaking the skin. Luckily Naraku was nimble and got to close his eyes before the fluid could hit them. And, at last, Kagome has done the disfavor of releasing the Scottish lass from the jewel shard. Any influence he could have on her mind and body should have vanished into dust – so the arachnid believed.
So, may the infinity of monsters inside him resign, for the present priority was to overcome his enemies which were cornering Naraku from every side. For that, he would need to get even stronger and couldn't allow any distraction to reach him, neither he could waste any time feeding the little jealousy seed vibrating within, because of Annabelle and Sesshomaru's meeting in the riverbank.
That doesn't concern to me anymore. The spider told himself while raising from the floor to open the wooden cabin's door and look at the landscape hill's below, white thick mist covered the high trees' trunks like cotton sheets, unveiling only the dark green tops.
"He is acting weird..." Kagura, sitting on the abyss' edge, noted. By her side, Kanna was also quietly staring at their master. "What is it? Will you stand in there without saying anything?" The Wind Sorceress snorted, feeling bored. "And where is that annoying kid, Hakudoshi?" She asked, looking to the sides.
"He left a time ago..." the girl answered in a monotone timbre.
"Did Naraku send him into a mission?"
"No..."
"So where did that brat go?" Crimson eyes widened, then blinked.
"I don't know..." After speaking, Kanna turned her back and walked away.

Days were passing calmly and slowly, Annabelle and the villagers managed to finish building the rest of the missing huts just in time to have a shelter from torrential rains. Late at night, the sound of water pouring from the sky mixed with the melodic waves reaching the shore, and that made the foreigner feel at peace.
Morning was the time to seek for food. While Himawari would hunt, Annabelle picked vegetables in their garden, and some fruits she preferred to catch in the woods around. The lass could find some rest descending the trail and reaching the water hole to visit Keiko's grave. Everytime she went to that place, more flowers would bloom over the elder's eternal bed. It was the fairies' descendant doing, working for keeping the beauty and the peace unstained in there. After such itinerary, Anna would return to the little village and gather with Yoru to train the girl how to use her spiritual powers. Then she would chat with Motoko, play a bit with the kids and give some aid to the old ones. Although the past still marked her, and a feeling os missing saddened the lass sometimes, she definitely was feeling lighter in there, living a normal life like she always wanted.
Did Annabelle has finally found her place in the world?
It was hard to tell, for when the sun started to lower behind the mountain, she used to go wet her feet in the waves and dreamed of Scotland. With closed eyes, the lass breathed the ocean air, praying for someday she could see the emerald green fields again, run through the hills and drink the pure water from the lakes.
Suddenly, a feeling of being watched by someone induced the woman to wide her gaze. She touched the stick, hanging on her back and turned to the sides. It wasn't the first time that was happening. Usually no one would appear and she ended up believing it has been only her imagination, however, on that dusk a little creature was present. While turning, Annabelle saw a boy with lavender eyes and hair, wearing white clothes, holding a spear. Violaceous eyes ran through her every form while a wicked grin enlarged on his thin lips, proving that although the demon had a infant's look, he was far from being a child.
"What do you want, yokai?" She pulled the stick from behind and pointed it's tip to the boy.
"Who are you?" He asked, his voice was so high and delicate that made him sound like a girl.
"What does it matter?" Suspicious, she stepped back.
"If I wanted, you would be already beheaded by now." The boy mentioned calmly, still smiling at her.
"What do you want from me?"
He hummed, then those little feet buried in the clear sand started to walk in circles around the woman.
Annabelle twirled, accompanying his movements, always with her eyes stuck on the stranger. A sudden light ran over her head, as fast as a beam, so she lifted her face and glimpsed a beautiful white stallion which mane and tail were made of fire. Stunned, she beheld the horse landing gracefully on the shore, and soon the little boy jumped on it's back, gesturing for the magnificent creature to gallop in the air once more.
"We will meet again" The boy said from above. "Let's go, Entei!" Then he guided his demon horse and they went away like a bright comet.
Who is this boy?! Anna wondered not only in the last twilight's moments, but also in the days that followed. As she was fulfilling her routine, the lass would look around all the time, not being able to get rid of that feeling of awareness.
On an apparently ordinary morning, Himawari came to her.
"Good morning, miss Anaberu!" The girl said, gazing at the foreigner washing a dress on a tiny lake.
"Good morning, would you like me to wash anything?" She asked, smiling.
"Ah, no..." Himawari shook her head. "I came to ask if you've seen Yoru around. Since I've woken I can't find the little brat." She snorted.
"Maybe she went to the water hole with other children." Anna responded tranquilly.
"You're right, I'll take a look then." Also smiling calmly, the lassie turned away.
Hours ran and they had no news about Yoru. Little girls and boys came back to their huts and Annabelle's follower remained missing. At that point, everybody was already worried, so the ginger lass decided to start a search. People divided into groups and went seeking around different corners. Anna chose to look for Yoru on the beach.
"Yoru!" She shouted the name, running over the soft sand.
"Hello." a familiar voice welcomed her, and it didn't belong to the person she was looking for.
"You..." Annabelle saw him reaching the ground, riding the mythic horse. A sudden anguish made a knot form in her throat. Would it be a foreboding?
Before the doubt could torment her long enough, the boy's act has answered.
"Could you be looking for that?" He pointed his spear up and a pinkish bubble appeared in the air, inside of it there was Yoru's body floating, unconscious.
"What have you done to her?!" The foreigner vociferated and her entire contours were evolved by albescent light.
"She is only sleeping, but if you attack me this little girl's slumber may last forever." In a deep placidity he explained, smirking.
"What do you want from me?!" Anna yelled.
"Take it." He took a little pottery canteen from his collar and tossed in her direction. Annabelle caught it in the air.
"What is the content inside?" She shook the object, preoccupied.
"Do you want the girl to return home safely or not?" He raised one eyebrow and grinned while seeing the woman grow paler facing an absence of choice. "Drink it." The boy ordered.
Yoru... Sweat dripped from her forehead, she stared at the girl and then her sight lowered to the recipient in her hands. What if it was poison? If he killed her, wouldn't he do the same to the girl then? What guarantee she had that the girl would be alright?
She studied the frightened features of her little unconscious friend. After a deep breath, Anna decided she would do anything to keep the girl safe.
"Alright, I'll drink it, but put her in the ground at least" The lass tried.
"Fine." In a single snap of fingers, the bubble came down and was unmade like an illusion, leaving the frail Yoru's body on the sand. Annabelle prepared to run after the girl, but the yokai immediately pointed his weapon to Yoru's neck, reminding the foreigner to fulfill her part on the bargain.
After another deep inhaling, Anna unscrew the bottle's cap, looked at the dark liquid revolving inside, then she sealed her eyes and drank it all at once.
The boy laughed delightfully, soon his forms began to blur in her sight, at last everything around seemed to melt and swirl rapidly, making the lass feel dizzy. Yoru was like a black spot on the sand. Finally, Annabelle fell down, losing consciousness.
Hakudoshi jumped off Entei, went to the woman and raised her easily, then threw her body on the horse's back as if it weighted nothing and climbed up to ride his loyal stallion to any sort of place Annabelle was about to find out.
