On the Sea is Where I’ll Be

The verdict was in. Inuyasha had come to a thoughtful
decision on each of the participant’s punishments. Kagome and Miroku sat
stiffly in their chairs, their minds a befuddled mess of thoughts. After
Inuyasha had announced he had come to a decision, he had then placed both his
clawed hands upon the paper strewn desk, hunched over in his cushiony chair
some, and stared intently at Kagome and Miroku, his golden eyes gleaming with
an emotion none of them could comprehend. Kagome’s mind was working a mile a
minute. She couldn’t understand why she was being punished for what that
cunning pervert had done to her. He was the one who had violated her; he
was the one who had initiated the whole scene. So why exactly was she being
punished as well. Any fear or anxiety she had been feeling previously was wiped
out from her body to be replaced by cold hard anger. She has had enough of
this! Enough with all the pirate business! Enough with being a captive! Enough
of being forced to submit to a arrogant, but striking hanyou captain! Enough
was enough. It was time for Kagome to take action again, but this time she
wasn’t the one that was going to submit. Oh no, it was time the captain submit
to her wishes. That said, Kagome stood abruptly causing the wooden chair
she had sat in a few seconds ago to knock over and slide a couple inches across
the floor. The two males in the office studied the fuming female. As clear as
day you could practically feel the anger coming off of the woman, the upturned
chair across the floor was another indication that she wasn’t a very happy
bunny at the moment.
“Just who do you think you ARE!? You can NOT
punish me because of that mans lack of self control! This whole thing is messed
up! I thought my life before this was messed up but this takes the cake. I wake
up one night to screaming and yelling only to get captured a few minutes after
I get out of bed to investigate. Then I get humiliated practically everyday by
some arrogant, self centered, JERK!” By the end of her speech Kagome was
feeling pretty relieved to get some pent up frustration and anger off her
chest. A few more hand motions and little rants later, Kagome finally calmed
down a little bit enough to realize that Miroku held a shocked face, although
his eyes were full of amusement and a hint of respect, while Inuyasha on the
other hand, had his head bowed, his hair casting a curtain over his face,
making it difficult to decipher his reaction to her blowout.
Crossing her arms, Kagome cast a glare to the bow-headed
captain, readying herself for anything he would throw at her. A few minutes
later and nothing had yet to come. Shoulders sagging a bit, a brief thought hit
her, maybe she took it a little to far, but as quickly as the thought came, it
left. The no good pirate deserved a little tongue lashing for the hell he put
her through on the ship and that night at the bar. Straitening her shoulders,
Kagome once again awaited a response from the lax hanyou.
The first response or movement at all that both Miroku and
Kagome noticed from Inuyasha was when his right downy dog ear twitched from its
perch atop his silver head. Next came the slow rise of his head. The hair that
had once curtained his face now fell to splay themselves on his broad
shoulders. His head no longer bowed, his face was now visible to Kagome and
Miroku. Upon looking at his face, Kagome noted two things. First one that
caught her eye was that instead of seeing his piercing golden eyes, she saw his
eye lids covering them, meaning that his eyes were closed shut. Tightly. Second
thing that caught her eye was his nostrils flaring. He seemed to be breathing
heavily. Maybe trying to restrain himself? Either way, those didn’t look like
good signs to Kagome at the moment. A part of her anger dwindled, but not all
of it. In the back of her mind she knew he had the power to kill her, use those
deadly claws that resided on the end of his fingers to rip her apart, to tear
away at her. Or he could decide to let her drown in the oceans, or throw her in
the sea where it was most infested with deadly sharks. None of those options
were to appealing, but it was better then living each day knowing you’d never
to get to see your home again, never get the chance to see your family again.
Never get the chance to go to family gatherings around the holidays. Never get
to meet someone and start a family. Instead, having to live with a man, a
pirate, the rest of your life or as long as they find interest in you. Then
when they grow bored of your presence, they kick you to the curb. Although
Kagome wasn’t a pirate expert or anything, she figured that when they didn’t
want their woman anymore, they probably just abandoned them in a town and took
off to get another woman to satiate themselves. The whole ordeal sickened her.
That’s why Kagome would rather die then be used. She had morals. She had
standards. She had a plan for her future. She had a good life before this! And
then he had to come and ruin it for her! That is why most of her anger stayed.
Coming out of her musings, Kagome refocused on his face again. Unconsciously,
she admired the beauty of his face, becoming somewhat jealous of his
cheekbones, long dark lashes, and pouty lips. Seeing a flutter behind his
eyelids signaled to her that he was going to lift his lids and shine his bright
orbs to the occupants in the room.
She was right, because he did open his eyes, but Kagome
would have been better off with them closed. The looks in his golden orbs were of
intense anger and restraint. It appeared as if he was having a war with himself
internally. Sure she’d seen him angry before, but this time was difference.
Taking a glance at Miroku, she noticed he had stood up from his chair and was
moving backwards slowly towards the door.
“Miroku, leave this room. I have to attend to my bitch
immediately. It seems as if she has yet to learn her obedience to me.
Looks like I’ll have to do more then the submission hold this time seeing as
how that hasn’t done the job yet. Now leave here, Miroku, and go keep order on
deck until I come back.” The gruff, yet calm voice broke through the silence
that had befallen the room a few moments before, leaving no room for arguments.
Miroku stared hard at the captain for a moment before giving a stern nod and
walking out of the room, leaving Kagome alone in the stuffy room with a half
demon that seemed to be mad at her. Not good for Kagome, not good at all.
Click. The door was now closed. She could hear
Miroku’s footsteps fading away as he walked further and further away from the
room that Kagome now considered an imprisonment. Glancing at Inuyasha for a
brief second she determined that probably running over to the door and just
bursting it open wouldn’t be the best idea right now. Looks like she would have
to take things slow. So, taking achingly slow steps backward towards the door,
Kagome mirrored Miroku’s earlier movements. To bad that’s not what Inuyasha
wanted. A growl reverberated from his chest filling the room with its sound,
bouncing off the walls and into Kagome’s ears. Now Kagome was no way schooled
in the ways of the dog demons or their habits or instincts, but she knew what
the growl’s purpose was for. To tell her to stop, which is exactly what she
did. He was standing now, peering at her with slitted golden eyes. His growl
had yet to cease. His fists that were perpendicular to his side were clenching
and unclenching. His legs were parted some, making him able to leap at any
minute at her if she dared to make a run for it. Looking at his face once more,
she saw jagged purple strips on each cheek. The weird thing about it was that
the marks would fade and then grow bold to then fade again. As if it wasn’t
sure it wanted to stay or disappear. The anger she had felt earlier had
disappeared completely. Instead it was replaced by adrenaline, some fear but
mostly anxiousness. Maybe now he would send her away. Maybe now he wouldn’t
find her desirable. Maybe now she could get off this stupid ship.
His footsteps were loud in Kagome’s ears. Each one like a
loud bang of thunder from a summer storm. Slowly taking in a long breath of
air, she calmed herself and relaxed all the muscles in her body. To him it
would appear as if she were submitting to him, but to her, she was just preparing
herself for the big moment I guess you could call it. Letting the breath out,
she honed her eyes on his and made her stance stern and rigid. Like she stated
earlier, he was the one to be submitting today, not her. He was close to her
now. Close enough to her that she needed to turn her head upwards to peer into
his eyes since he was a good sum taller then her. He spoke to her then, making
the tension between them double. He never was good with words.
“Bitch, you have no clue what you just got yourself into. I
hope your little tirade was well worth the effort because you just screwed
yourself over when you opened that little mouth of yours. Tell me girl, do you
know anything about dog demons? I’m assuming you don’t because if you
did, you would have known that speaking down on a male in front of another male
especially if the other male happens to be the second in command, is a
big fat fucking no no.” He practically growled the whole sentences out.
Intimidation probably came easy for him, seeing how he carried himself and all
not to mention being half dog demon. To Kagome though, his words did not scare
her at all. In fact she didn’t even blink to his rough spoken words. He
continued.
“As my captive you are to respect me in front of people
especially my crew mates and fellow friends. You will obey me. I feel like we
have this conversation everyday. I’m starting to get tired of this fucking
shit.” Kagome stopped listening after the respect part.
‘respect? Respect?! RESPECT!!! I should RESPECT him!! HOW
DARE HE!’ Her face mirrored his. Eyes slitted, mouth’s straight, eyebrows
drawn, nose scrunched, she clenched her fists and took in another deep breath
of air. Speaking lowly, she said exactly what was on her mind.
“And what, pray tell, makes you even think that YOU
of all people even deserve my respect! If you want me to respect you you’ll
have to earn it! Which is something that will never happen. You are a no
good pirate that likes nothing but causing other people misery. It makes me
sick. You don’t deserve my respect or anyone else’s!” During her retort she had
pushed him back away from him and had gotten distance between the two. What she
had said though, was the wrong thing to say. He growled again, this time more
deadly. It was more primal, more animalistic then before. She should have kept
her mouth shut. He had those purple stripes on his face again. This time they
didn’t flicker to fade or bold. They stayed bold. His eyes were a glowing
crimson; fangs peaking out and overlapping his bottom lip some. Claws were also
elongated. He looked every bit as deadly as he sounded. And all because she had
opened her mouth again. She knew there wouldn’t be just a simple submission
hold. She knew that something far worse was in store for her. With that last
thought hanging in her head, Inuyasha leaped at her.
And Kagome went down.
A/N: Well I decided not to discontinue because of a few
petty problems. I hope this chapter doesn’t bore you much. I had intended for
more things to happen but guess what. I got distracted again and voila! This
came out. I was also going to re write it but I didn’t want you guys who enjoy
this story to wait any longer. It has been a while since I updated. So here you
go. Oh and if anyone could give me a couple ideas for this story I would be
happy to hear them.
