Golden eyes snapped open. Umbra was in a panic.
Sesshoumaru was up and dressed in a flash as he swiftly made his way to the source of the disturbance. He burst into the main hall only to witness a scene of pure chaos.
Kazuhiko was in the midst of it all. Kayashima and Kouga close at hand. The three taiyoukai were being crowded around by dozens of the higher nobles who stayed at the capital regularly.
All of them were chattering amongst themselves. Their faces showed deep amusement and some vivid fascination, it seemed they were all absorbed in some gripping conversation. He walked over but no one took notice.
“This group is so interesting! Humans are a very funny sort of breed, aren’t they?” One of the noble ladies whispered excitedly.
“Sesshoumaru, you’re finally awake.” Kazuhiko calmly called out from over the crowd.
The inuyoukai shoved his way through towards the other lords. They were like a bunch of thousand year old children getting ready to go out on a sunny morning. Were these the truly the ancients of the demon courts of Umbra?
“Disgusting.”“What’s disgusting?” Kayashima watched as the late waking inuyoukai scowled unhappily. The dragon slapped his friend briskly on the back.“Why so gloomy? Everything’s great! The nobles just loved Kagome, even her group too.”
“Yes, Yes, quite.” Kazuhiko cut in. “We are all absolutely charmed by the lady and her friends.”
“Yes!” An old stag demon yelled out enthusiastically waving his fist in the air. The usually stoic noble was once someone who could control a room with a set jaw and a silent gaze. Now he was reduced to a giddy schoolboy.
“We saw them all sleeping in the garden! It was so very interesting, they all looked so peaceful.” One of the older ladies shouted out. “They were like cute slumbering children.”
Sesshoumaru brow twitched, ‘Oh, how charming, it could make one want to vomit blood.’
It was as if the entire palace had thrown open their windows and a fresh breeze had blown in. The atmosphere around these old demons and the capital had completely changed.
Kazuhiko clapped his hands, “Alright everyone. I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed Lady Kagome and Master Shippo’s group. However, we have called you here for a reason. We would like to discuss a matter that has come to our attention and which may well change the future of all demons and of our lands and capital.”
The inuyoukai stiffened and slowly turned his gaze on the bat youkai.
There was an expression of blissful unawareness on the Southern lord’s face as he turned to meet Sesshoumaru’s eyes. Kazuhiko smiled.
‘Damned bat,’ he snarled out just as he was about to seize the miscreant by his throat. Didn’t they understand that once the words were out, they would be the binding that sealed their fate to eternal servitude?
Just as his claws were a breath away from reaching the cursed face of that bat demon, the wolf yelped it all out.
“Kagome’s the new Emperor!”
Sesshoumaru’s eyes snapped backward to see the ecstatic wolf raising his arms in the air, obviously delighted that he’d been the one to break the news.
The left side of Sesshoumaru’s mouth curled upward as he snarled.
----------------------------------------------------
Outside, Kagome stirred. Letting out a gaping yawn, she stretched until she heard a satisfying crack. Sighing, she pulled the giant fur blankets around her and looked at her group.
Miroku and Sango were sleeping not too far away. The beds hadn’t suited them either and they’d ended up tripping their way sleepily into the gardens to find their friends. Not long after that, Shinji and Shippo had found their way outside too. They’d cautiously slipped in alongside the tree Inuyasha was sleeping in. They hadn’t come too close to her. They had probably sensed that she was still a little ticked off that they’d kept her in the dark about her role as Emperor but she wouldn’t hold a grudge. It was just a waste of time trying to stay mad at those two.
In the end, the entire group had ended up outside. Not a single one of them could relax in the luxury of the castle.
‘We’re such a group of oddballs,’ she huffed, laughing quietly.
“Kagome, you awake?”
Shippo’s hushed tones roused her from her reverie.
“Yeah,” she beckoned him over and he dove under her furs in a flash.
They huddled together in a comfortable silence against the morning chill.
“So,” the fox whispered gently, “what do you want to do?”
She sighed.
“Sleep.”
He didn’t let her off so easily.
“Are you going to stay in Umbra? To be the Emperor?”
She nuzzled his head.
“What do you want to do?”
He closed his eyes. His response was low and soft.
“Stay with you.”
She smoothed his hair and kissed him lightly on the forehead.
“Yeah,” she whispered, “me too.”
“Kagome,” called a much deeper male voice.
She didn’t bother opening her eyes but she acknowledged him.
“Shinji.”
The black haired inu came to sit next to her.
He didn’t ask her anything. He only sat there in silence.
But she knew what he wanted.
She finally looked up at him.
“You know I would really prefer not to get involved in all this.”
He kept his eyes turned upward, watching the clouds move by.
“I know.”
She glanced around at the beautiful gardens surrounding them.
“Is an Emperor really necessary? It looks to me that they’re not doing too bad for themselves.”
Shinji looked down at her, his eyes held a tender light.
“You are necessary.”
She sighed and ruffled her hair in frustration.
Shinji took her hands to stop her.
“Kagome, if you become the Empress just think of all the good that could come from it. It would foster trust between Umbra, the four territories, and all of its human inhabitants. Human and demon relations would greatly improve.” He glanced at the silver haired figure still slumbering away in the tree above them. “You could be the one who rids people of their intolerance of half breeds.”
She followed his gaze and watched Inuyasha sleeping peacefully.
Shinji gripped her hands harder to bring her attention back to him.
“The Emperor is the Master of all demons. And the Master has an effect on his subjects. He brings them a sense of belonging and peace. His presence was what allowed the very first varied and diverse demon court to coexist peacefully with one another. A Master also helps demons gain more control over their inner beasts. You can tame youkai. You could help us, help everyone.”
Kagome took a deep breath. She nodded and he released her hands. She laid back down.
“What a pain…” she sighed, glaring at him from the corners of her eyes, “I knew you were up to something. Digging at all of my weak spots, you really are a demon.”
He crossed his arms.
“That much is obvious.”
She smiled softly.
Suddenly a voice broke in from above them.
“That wasn’t much of a struggle. You shouldn’t give in so easily to that old man, he’s sneaky.”
The inuhanyou gave a giant yawn and swung down from his perch. He hunched over next to his long time friend and ruffled her hair.
“We’ve been moving around a lot lately. This place has decent food. We can leave once it starts to suck so why don’t we just try it out for now?”
“Yeah,” she laughed and sighed in resignation, “ok, let’s see what this is all about.”
Inuyasha nodded and turned toward the others.
“Yo Miroku! Sango! She gave in.”
The two stretched and yawned. Sango looked sleepy.
“Already? Okay, but I want to eat before we get into all of this.”
Shippo scrambled out of the fur bedding when he heard this. He tugged on Kagome’s sleeve.
“I saw a huge kitchen last night when Shinji and I were searching for you. Let’s go eat!”
Kagome nodded and stood up to stretch. Smiling, she hoisted Shippo up to standing position. The top of his head reached her waist and she frowned, he was getting too big to be coddled. It gave her mixed feelings. The coronation yesterday meant that Demon society now recognized him as an adult. Though she was proud, it made her feel a bit lonely to realize he was growing so fast.
She gave him a shining smile and grabbed his shoulders to pull him into a tight hug.
Shippo blushed slightly, his face pressed up into Kagome’s breasts.
She loosened her hold to look down at him.
“What do you feel like eating today?”
He grinned, “Something sweet!”
Shinji nodded.
“Come. I’ll take you there. The Umbra palace can be disorienting.”
The group followed as the inuyoukai led them through a number of long winding halls.
Miroku scratched the back of his head.
“I wonder where everyone is. A castle this big should have a lot of attendants bustling around, especially this early in the morning.”
Shinji didn’t break his stride as he opened a pair of double doors.
“Yes, normally this would be true. However, I suspect that everyone here has been called to discuss last night’s news in the main hall.” He stopped and turned to face them.
“We have arrived.”
The kitchen was amazing. Kagome fluttered past Shinji, floating from one counter to another as if possessed. She peeked into the fully packed pantries and cupboards. There was a fire going with an enormous metal slab perched above it. The kitchen staff must have left not too long ago. She opened a few doors to find a closet of black kitchen staff aprons. She lifted it over her head and tied a knot at her waist. She looked into the next room to see it packed with vegetables and fruits, grains, rice and flour. There was even a door leading underground to a room filled with ice and enough meat to feed several large armies.
“Okay,” Kagome tied her hair back and rolled up her sleeves. She smoothed her apron and draped a tea towel around her arm and gave a bow with an exaggerated flourish.
“Good morning Sirs and Madams, what would you like for breakfast today?”
Sango raised her hand, “Eggs and bacon with fruit parfait!”
Miroku nodded, “I’ll have the same.”
Inuyasha tied his hair back and took an apron from the closet. He disappeared into the door leading to the underground meat cellar and reappeared dragging a slab of preserved pork. He deftly swiped it with his claws and it fell apart into thick slices of bacon.
Shippo tugged at Kagome’s apron.
“I want those things! Those pancakes.”
She smiled.
“No problem.”
In a few minutes, the kitchen filled with noise and mouth watering scents.
The young miko flitted from one project to another. The only eggs she’d found were huge bowling ball sized monstrosities. She cracked four of them onto the large metal slab in the fireplace and tossed the bacon next to it. Next she found a bowl and cracked one of the eggs inside. She threw flour, sugar, milk, and a pinch of salt into it. After the batter was done she started the pancakes on the opposite side of the slab.
Searching around, she found a paper bag of roasted chestnuts someone had newly roasted. Inuyasha cracked and peeled them open, slicing them into bits and pieces. She tossed sugar on top and mixed it in. She selected some fresh fruits and the hanyou cut them up for her into some small bowls. Meanwhile, Shippo came out of the ice room carrying a large canister of heavy cream. She poured some out and added some sugar. She whipped it until large fluffy peaks formed and spooned some out onto the fruit. It wasn’t long before the eggs, bacon, and pancakes were done cooking. Sango and Miroku helped themselves to heaping serving of eggs and bacon and took a bowl of fruit each.
Kagome picked the largest two pancakes and piled the sweet chestnut mixture, chopped fruit, and whipped cream onto them. Shippo eagerly took the plate.
Shinji moved one of the smaller marble tables to the middle of the room and dragged in chairs from the dining room. After everyone had a plate, they all sat down to eat. The six of them crowded around the table, so bunched together their arms brushed against the person next to them. The huge room seemed small and cozy. The kitchen had gotten a bit warm from all the cooking so they opened a window. It was a comfortable, friendly, and noisy gathering with simple and delicious food, the sun streaming through the windows and birds chattering outside. They ate slowly and enjoyed each other’s company.
---------------------------------------------
Sesshoumaru had a throbbing headache. The nobles had taken the news all too well. Even the staff employed at the castle had joined their discussion. And they were all excited to talk with the dark haired priestess. In fact, they were ecstatic that she might make a home at the capital. They were all unanimous, the girl would stay.
“Okay everyone,” Kazuhiko lifted his hand for silence.
“It makes me very happy to hear you all so energetic. So why don’t we find the topic of our conversation and see what she thinks about staying here.”
“Yeah,” Kouga cut in, “we still don’t even know if she’s willing to stay on as Emperor.”
Sesshoumaru listened silently. Though his inspection of her aura yielded no ill will towards them, he still wasn’t comfortable having her stay in Umbra. It was as if she had seized a small hole in his defense, a loose thread that she was ever so slightly pulling, unraveling it bit by bit.
He wished they could have kept her identity a secret. Everyone would want a piece of her now.
His inner beast growled unhappily. *She comes from the West. She is ours.*
Sesshoumaru’s eyes widened. What was he thinking?
‘Pathetic,’ he snarled. What was happening to him?
‘No,’ he stroked his chin ‘this was most likely a normal reaction.' Yes, he just needed to have a connection with her, to keep her close and safe. Demons wanted to stay near their Masters. 'Yes, it was an instinctual need.’
Some of the older court ladies were whispering excitedly. They were eagerly arguing about which dress and what jewelry would look best on their new Emperor.
He growled, thinking of how suddenly they were all falling over themselves in an attempt to indulge and grow closer to this human woman.
Kayashima watched his silver haired friend carefully. The inuyoukai was especially susceptible to the effect Kagome had on them. The image of a small, floppy silver colored puppy drooling and bouncing at the feet of their Empress made the dragon almost giddy with excitement.
Kazuhiko smiled, “Yes, the other Lords and I will go talk to her now.”
He clapped his hands together, “Alright then everyone. For now, why don’t we all get back to what we’re normally doing at this time.”
There was a definite sound of dissatisfaction as the staff began to file out to begin the day’s duties.
The nobles followed, still speaking animatedly about the recent developments.
Kayashima was the first to start towards the inner gardens. Kouga and Kazuhiko swiftly followed.
Sesshoumaru took a moment for himself to settle his mind. He took a deep breath. The corner of his eye twitched. Food, someone was using the kitchen.
‘It can’t be the cooks, they were just dismissed from here.’
He sniffed disdainfully; he’d been feeling an odd tingling sensation since earlier this morning. A sensation of yearning rushed through him. Where ever it was coming from, he knew that was where he belonged. His beast was whispering to him.
He glanced after the three other taiyoukai who were almost racing toward the gardens.
And without a word, he turned in the opposite direction toward the kitchen.
As he drew nearer to the entrance, he saw the Umbra kitchen staff huddled around the slightly opened doors. The capital employed two large and burly demons along with two lithe young demonesses. They were all crouched near the door, mouths agape and spying determinedly into the entryway. Their eyes held a vivid fascination. There was laughter and yelling coming from the room. Sesshoumaru silently approached from behind and peered inside. His half brother’s band of misfits had taken control of the room. The group was packed together at a small table, laughing and joking with each other. He watched as the dark haired priestess kicked the chair from under the monk, sending him toppling. He lay on the floor at her feet, looking upward.
Suddenly the priest had a very serious expression on his face as he rubbed his chin in contemplation.
“Nice view.”
Sesshoumaru’s ears perked up at the comment and he nearly let a snarl escape from his lips.
But he stopped himself when he heard the miko’s voice.
“Isn’t it?”
The scene he saw next made him hold his breath in surprise. The priestess laughed so earnestly and smiled so openly with the members of his brother’s group. The morning sun poured in from an open window and a soft breeze blew in, carrying the smell of something sweet and warm. The Lord of the Western lands found himself staring fixatedly at the affectionate smile this girl gave to her companions. It was radiant and made him feel warm and loved.
Yes, this was the feeling. This was where he belonged. The tingling sensation was becoming warm and comfortable. His eyes widened minutely in realization. Had he imprinted on her? That must be it. She was his home, the place he would always want to return to.
“Let me give you a better view then,” the girl slowly raising her leg up until it was level with the monk’s head, her panties in full view, then unceremoniously planted her foot onto his face, mercilously smothering him underfoot.
A different voice broke through his concentration. Shessoumaru watched as Shinji chuckled warmly. He’d never seen this aspect of his foster brother before, Shinji’s smile was so relaxed and at ease with this group. Inuyasha laughed too, smirking when he extended his hand to help the monk off the floor. The taiyoukai watched as both his older and younger siblings basked in the heartwarming presence of this mismatched but loving family. Sesshoumaru continued to gaze onto the scene as the miko smiled again.
He frowned. With this expression, he shoved his way past the four youkai surrounding the door. They fell onto each other and into the room with a dull thump. The sound made the room’s inhabitants give pause as they turned to check who was intruding their sanctuary.Sesshoumaru stepped gracefully over the workers he’d sent sprawling and entered the room.
The entire group rose from the table and the taiyoukai watched as Kagome’s open smile fell into a guarded defense. His frown deepened.
------------------------------------
Kagome was startled when the door opened and a small assort of demons tumbled through. She’d completely forgotten where she was. Suddenly she sensed another presence and the realization made her jump up in response. Half a second later he was through the door and standing in front of them.
The taiyoukai was frowning as he surveyed the scene before him. Kagome watched carefully as he turned toward her fully and nodded at her.
‘Oh, a brief and wordless apology for your inexcusable behavior last night?’ she mused silently. She almost laughed. She knew he hadn’t been in his right mind and had half expected him to be angry at her or at least ignore her.
‘Such an honest guy,’ she nodded back at him and gave him her best business like smile.
-------------------------------------
That smile sent a wave of relief washing over him, though it was nothing like the smile she’d had just moments ago, it was still something. His hand twitched. He could barely hold himself back from wrapping his arms around her and burying his head into her hair.
But he felt a bit uneasy at the same time. She forgave him so easily and undoubtedly she was capable of forgiving a lot more too. She was too kind. That kind of personality was dangerous. It made him want to trust her.
He forced his gaze away from her and turned to address the entire group.
“You’ve been making yourselves at home,” he observed mildly.
“However the kitchen staff needs to prepare for breakfast so you will vacate,” he swept his hand casually to indicate the heap on the ground.
----------------------------------------
“Oh,” Kagome remarked as the staff members scrambled up and bowed in her direction. She smiled.
“Why don’t I help?” She hadn’t taken off her apron and she dusted off the front of it.
The two girls gasped and whispered excitedly to one another. They turned to their two burly companions and nodded at them eagerly. One of the men scratched the back of his head.
“We couldn’t possibly wish to impose on your highness,” he glanced at her face and blushed. He lowered his eyes shyly.
Kagome cocked her eyebrow up in question and looked at Shinji.“Your highness?” she hissed at him.
He nodded back at her.
Sighing, she turned back to the cooks.“Please, call me Kagome. And I would really like to help,” she smiled her best to persuade them.
“Won’t you please entertain my request?”
And they were like warm putty in her hands.
‘I guess I do have some effect on demons.’ She scratched her head, ‘I better be careful of the way I speak from now on.’
She rolled up her sleeves, rinsed her hands in the water basin, and tied back her hair again.
“So what are we making?” She smiled.
----------------------------------------
Kouga lifted up the furs that Kagome had used for bedding last night.
“They’re cold, they probably left early in the morning.”
Kayashima came back outside, “They aren’t in their rooms.”
Kazuhiko waved at them and pressed a finger to his lips for silence.
“Do you hear that?” He whispered.
They could hear laughter and talking coming from one of the windows in the courtyard. It was a cheerful and uplifting sound. Kazuhiko followed it to the kitchen window, Kouga and Kayashima tailing him close behind. They looked inside. Their eyes widened in surprise.
Sesshoumaru and Shinji were lounging at the table, relaxed and talking quietly. The monk and demon slayer were washing dishes, lost in a world of their own as they laughed and glanced at each other from the corners of their eyes. Inuyasha and Shippo were cutting up vegetables and fruits with their claws, competing to see who was the quickest.
However, the most shocking thing was Kagome who was surrounded by the Umbra cooks. She was humming quietly to herself as she threw things together and put them over the fire to cook. She deftly tossed a bowl into the air and across the room. Without even glancing back, Sango caught it and placed it gently with the other dirty dishes. Next, Kagome threw a full plate of food toward the table. Using a single finger, Sesshoumaru caught the edge and spun it down in front of him. He didn’t even pause in his conversation. Another bowl came sailing through the air from the opposite side of the room, coming at a much higher velocity and aimed specifically for his head. Sesshoumaru snatched it mid-flight and glared at the source. Inuyasha laughed. Sesshoumaru took a sniff of the contents and placed it on the table next to his plate.
He ate slowly, continuing his conversation with Shinji.
Kouga leaned in and draped himself across the windowsill.
“Hey, got anything for a handsome young wolf?”
Kagome looked up from her work and laughed. Her face fell into a sultry gaze. She licked her lips.
“If it’s a handsome young wolf, I can think of several things he can help himself to.” She leaned down against the sill and her top peeked open.
Kayashima’s breath hitched and Kouga’s eyes widened as he stared unblinkingly into the dark folds of her clothing.
“So if you see this handsome young demon, let me know,” she placed a hand on his forehead and pushed him off the ledge.
The wolf fell backwards onto the grass.
Kazuhiko laughed and took the window for himself.
“May I have a plate of that for myself, Lady Kagome?” He pointed at the pancakes that were layered with sweet chestnuts, whipped cream, and fruit.
She smiled and began to prepare a plate while the bat demon lifted himself through the window and into the room. She passed him his serving and he sat down at the table to eat.
Meanwhile Kayashima froze outside the window. The scene of her licking her lips, leaning over him, and the scent of her bare skin sent him spiralling. He imagined her lying in his bed early in the morning, naked and hungry while she waited for him to feed her. He held out a soft piece of ripened mango, juice dripping down its sides as she ate it from his hand, her small tongue darting out to clean the cream from his fingers. Her wet, soft mouth moving up his middle finger, she looked into his eyes.
She mewled, still hungry for more.
He attacked her, kissing her madly and forcing his tongue inside to taste the sweetness of the fruit. His hand traveled lower until he reached the tops of her legs. She opened them readily and bucked into his hand as he stroked her. She was soaking wet and she yelled out for his touch. He teased her entrance and she clawed at his back with need.
She needed him.
He opened the front of his pants and placed his throbbing member between her thighs. She put her arms around him and rubbed herself desperately against him. He couldn’t hold back any longer and he thrust himself hard inside of her heat. She cried out and bucked against him in desire. He held back until she settled down again. Then he slowly pulled himself out inch by inch. He left her completely and she looked up at him with tears in her eyes. That was all he needed. He pounded himself back into her welcoming warmth. She dug her nails into his shoulders as she cried out in pleasure. He was pounding into her now and she wrapped her legs around him. The bed shook as he ravished her body. He grabbed a fistful of her hair and pulled. She yelled out and he silenced her as he shoved his tongue in for a deep kiss.
She gasped for air as she screamed his name and he quickened his pace. She grabbed the back of his head and pulled him down to whisper in his ear. Her words came in breathy gasps.
“Cum inside me,” she ordered as she grinded her hips against him.
He groaned and pumped himself inside her again. She came, her walls closing down on him.
“Kayashima,” she moaned out his name.
“Lord Kayashima?” she asked. He jolted out of his dream and found himself standing in front of the window again.“Lord Kayashima?” He looked up and met her eyes. She smiled for him.
“Don’t you want to come inside?”He nearly buckled and collapsed to the ground at those words. His arousal was already overpowering but with those few simple words, he couldn’t hold back anymore. He doubled over on the ground and released his seed on the insides of his pants. His eyes widened, he needed to get out of there before anyone realized it. In a blink, the dragon taiyoukai disappeared.
Kagome narrowed her eyes as she watched him leave.
“Weeeird,” she shrugged and waved for Kouga to come in for some food.
The wolf scrambled up into the window and took a plate of eggs and bacon. He scratched his nose, he was fairly positive that he knew what had just happened with his dragon friend. He silently thanked the gods that he’d met Kagome early on and gotten used to her power increase over time. The sudden introduction to her effect on them looked overwhelming. Luckily, the dragon left before anyone else noticed.
Sesshoumaru watched in displeasure as Kouga sat next to him. From the two burly cooks to Inuyasha and Shinji and finally joined by the bat and wolf. There were way too many males hanging around the priestess.
The inuyoukai pushed his plate away from him. What had he been doing anyway? When had he become part of that lively and warm scene he’d witnessed from outside the room? It was pathetic but he couldn’t rip himself away.
One of the demonesses that was helping make the food started loading up a cart with plates. She glanced up at her new human coworker for directions.
Kagome smiled and nodded and the cart was rolled out into the dining hall to serve breakfast to the others in the capital.
“Ok,” she washed her hands, untied her apron, and pulled her hair down in one fluid motion.
“Finished,” she smiled as she sat down next to Shinji.
Kazuhiko leaned back, his plate empty and his stomach full.
“That was delicious Lady Kagome. I hope that I’ll be able to sample more of your cooking later. But right now, I think we should discuss your future here at Umbra.”
She nodded.
“For now, I’ll stay. But if it turns out to be impossible, I can’t promise that I’ll keep still. And if I’m needed elsewhere, I’ll go. I’ll need to be able to come and go as I wish.”
“That’s all that we can ask from you,” Kazuhiko calmly stood up, “Shinji will show you around so please enjoy your stay here. We’ll be alerting all major nobles of the four territories about this development. Many demons will probably want to come and greet you properly as the head of the capital now. Umbra will soon become a very busy place.”
“Yeah,” Kouga shoveled another piece of bacon into his mouth, “hmm…ah…this place has some great hot spring baths. You should give ‘em a try.”
Her eyebrows twitched up in an attempt to hide her glee, “I certainly will,” she smiled.Sesshoumaru listened quietly. He had to admit, she had an amazing presence. It was an aura that called people toward her. He looked around the crowded table. She held a charisma that drew people in like moths to a flame. For the first time in a long time, he felt light and relaxed.
Then it dawned on him. It was already too late, he was trapped. He couldn’t kill her now. And he couldn’t let her go.
The title of Master and Emperor…he would have to gamble it all…and place his trust into her hands.
He hissed under his breath and his beast growled out.
*We cannot let her leave. She is ours and we are hers.*
Kagome heard something and glanced at the silver haired taiyoukai. He was staring into the distance, lost in thought. He was acting very strangely this morning: patient and gentler than usual, even with Inuyasha. She shivered. It kind of gave her the creeps.
I'm so sorry for the long wait, I even forgot my login/email/password....
