Hey guys! I pumped myself up on Starbucks tonight so I tried to write a decently-long chapter. I tried to involve as much as possible in order to leave you at a cliffhanger. So, please let me know what you think! It's 2:30 AM and I need to sleep, so there will be edits along the way. Please, please, please review! My inspiration to write comes from your guys' reviews!

It felt like hours that they had been walking. Though, she knew better, it had only been about forty-five minutes. Despite the cold weather, Kagome felt droplets of sweat drip down her spine. Her face was burning from the chilling winds constantly blowing against her exposed skin. She wished she had brought a bandana or ski mask, possibly goggles or something, too. That way she would be able to see better and not deal with the frostbite. Her legs ached as they seemed to hike higher and higher, their trek going up a steep incline.
“How much longer, Sango?” Kagome tried not to sound breathless when she spoke. She wanted to seem just as strong as Sango was. She wouldn’t be weak.
“We’re almost there, the winds are making us take longer. But it shouldn’t be long now,” Sango continued leading the group upwards.
They were deep into a forest now, with a path cleared to make trips to and from the hot springs easier. There were Taisho Clan insignias carved into trees every so often, indicating that their path was correct. The three demons had flanked Kagome. One was on her left, another on her right, and the last was behind her. Sango had been in front of them to lead the way, so it was as if she had been guarded from all sides. As if I’d even try.
The higher they journeyed the colder and harsher the winds got. If Sango hadn’t said they were close, Kagome would have insisted that they turn around and go back before it got worse. But wait, what if we get caught in the blizzard while we’re up there?
“Sango, is there a place for us to stay if this gets any worse? What if we don’t have enough time to make it back?” Kagome somewhat yelled to the other female, feeling as if her normal voice wasn’t loud enough to make it over the roaring wind whipping around them.
Sango looked at Kagome over her shoulder, her own face quite flushed and red from the frostbite. “There’s a safe-zone hut in this area that we can use. You find it by looking for the Taisho symbol.” Sango pointed to the insignia carved into a tree they were walking past on her left. “The way you know if you’re going to right way is that they will be carved into the trees on the left side. As you come to the hot spring, you look for the ones on the right-hand side. When you’re coming down, it’ll be your left. When you look for the safe-zones they will always be on your left-hand side, and then on your right-hand side when you’re coming back from them. The mansion’s path is the opposite. We started on left, and end on right. Understand? It ‘s confusing, and you learn to figure it out within time, but it’s the only way to not give away the mansion’s whereabouts. It was originally made for the humans who work with the Taisho, but in times like these, it’s also hard for the youkai to be able to detect or smell anything. Anyway, the ‘crossroad’ to determine where you should go will be right there at the hot spring. You shouldn’t need to know these details, but this blizzard looks pretty bad. Who knows what will happen.” Sango smiled breathlessly at Kagome after all her explaining.
“Do you think we should just turn back now? This isn’t looking too great.” Kagome seemed a bit worried, which was unlike her. Putting aside her fears and worries with being captured and brought to a strange place, she always stood tall. She tried to remain strong, and would continue to do so. But that wouldn’t be happening if she were to die here in the blizzard.
Sango seemed to contemplate her words, while they still trudged on ahead. In Sango’s opinion, it was probably a better idea to turn around and go back; saving this journey for a different day. But on the other hand, she had so badly wanted to get Kagome out of that mansion for as long as she could. To at least show her the world she had been missing out on. Though, this isn’t the way she should be showing her. Coming to a decision, she nodded to herself and turned around.
“Alright, let’s head back. We need to hurry if we don’t want to get caught in this.” Sango turned the group around, taking them down the hill as quickly as she could.
Kagome was having trouble keeping up, her legs were aching already from their walk up here, and the burn in her thighs was still there as they tried to swiftly venture down the hill. Sango had taken lead again, but the youkai who had been behind her previously had not swapped with Sango, he was right there behind Sango. He seemed to just as eagerly want to get away from the storm. The youkai that had been flanking Kagome were following the other two, with her lagging behind even more. They all were stronger, faster, and more in shape than she was. Their forms seemed to disappear in the white snow. Kagome tried to call out, but her voice stilled. Her throat was tight, and there was little moisture to speak. She had been breathing so hard to try and keep up with the others, she hadn’t really noticed just how badly in shape she was, and had been giving her body a workout it wasn’t able to withstand.
Kagome felt her legs about to give way, and had almost collapsed when someone had grabbed her around the waist and pulled her off of the path and into the forest. Kagome sucked in a breath to scream, but didn’t have any luck. Her vocal chords would not respond, but it hadn’t mattered anyway. Her captor had put their hand over her mouth.

Something wasn’t right. It felt like there was a presence missing among their pack. Sango turned around swiftly, seeing the three youkai following behind her. Kagome was nowhere in sight. “Where is she?” Sango felt panicked. She eyed the scenery around them, trying to make out anything that could possibly be Kagome. It was to no avail, she could barely see more than a few feet in front of her. If she hadn’t known this path so well, they would probably be lost by now since there was little ability to find the carved insignias.
The youkai stared back at Sango, not answering. “Where is she? Why weren’t you behind her? What were you thinking?” she was furious.
Sango started making her way back up the hill, intent on finding her friend, when the three youkai caught her off guard and grabbed her by the arms. What the?! The three circled her, pinning her arms behind her. Their pack leader pulled something out of his backpack quickly, while another pulled down the collard of her snow jacket to expose her neck. The leader stabbed the “thing”-which turned out to be a needle- into her jugular. Son of a bitch! I’ll get you back for this. She felt her world fade to black as she slouched into the youkai now holding her. The strongest of the three threw her over his shoulder and they flitted their way back to the mansion.

Sesshoumaru had heard about Sango’s request to take Kagome out to the hot springs and granted access. He did not accept her request of it being today, however. It was much too powerful of a storm to let a human go outside. Kagome would probably die, and then all his plans would have gone to waste. Though, he didn’t want to waste his time dawdling with such minor, insignificant problems. He let Kagura deal with those. At least, that’s what he kept telling himself. He would not give into the thought that it was possibly just because he had wanted to avoid her. She plagued his mind constantly. His sleeping patterns were erratic. Not that he, Sesshoumaru Taisho, needed sleep like a weak human. It was just quite annoying and irritating to have her inconvenience him without even being in her presence.
Sighing, Sesshoumaru gazed outside his balcony window. It was coming close to dusk now, and the storm seemed to be getting worse. He had calculated earlier on that this would happen, and had sent his pack on their missions accordingly to work around it. It had actually worked to his favor. The missions they had completed prior to this day were now able to have surprise on his side, more than usual. Not to mention, the likelihood of anyone tracking them back to the mansion was unrealistic. However, no youkai can outdo nature herself. There’s only so much one can take before they break.
These past two weeks he had felt his power dwindling. He was still the most powerful of anyone here for miles and miles, probably continents, but the simple lack in blood-thirst when he killed was not there. The energy to care was nonexistent. He was a youkai for crying out loud. He lived to kill and gain power.
He knew it wasn’t because of his mating bond. Their bond was never really strong to begin with, he was just using Kagura, so there was no loss in that. It was something else. Something he hadn’t even noticed was there until it was gone. And that was Higurashi Kagome. She seemed to empower him somehow. The way his youkai responded and evoked within him whilst in her presence made him realize just how much he actually had been missing all this time. The thought of being even more than he was now was extremely intriguing. He would have it, but he needed to find out what it would cost him first. And he could not forget the biggest factor of them all; she was a miko. If she harnessed her powers to their highest capability, she could purify him just by touching him. Though, for now, he need not worry about these things. She had no idea just how powerful she could be.
Sighing again, Sesshoumaru was about to turn back to his bed and attempt to sleep peacefully, when he saw three figures speeding towards the mansion. His eyes slit, instinctively feeling a growl form in his chest as he sought to protect his territory. He would not, though. He was not a dog. He was a Lord. He continued eyeing the figures while opening the door to the balcony and stepping out onto the snow-infested wood porch. As they moved closer, he recognized them as his own.
His nose lifted in the air, inhaling deeply as he tried to catch drift of any familiar scent. They were still too far away. He leaped from the balcony and down towards the group coming to the mansion. He gracefully landed on several roofs of his mansion and came to a halt as he now stood in front of the gates and in front of the group. He cut them off before they were able to make it past the gate.
Sesshoumaru eyed each of them carefully, taking their faces and body forms into memory. Noticing another laying atop one of the youkai’s shoulders, he walked over to him and stared at him with and icy glare.
“M-m-my Lord! W-what are you doing out here? The storm is pretty b-bad, you should be inside!” the “leader” attempted to coax his Lord away.
Sesshoumaru looked at the man who spoke from the corner of his eye, his eyes slit in somewhat anger. How dare he disrespect and think lowly of this Sesshoumaru. Within the blink of an eye, Sesshoumaru’s claws ripped through the youkai’s stomach and up to his chest. The youkai had no time to react and fell backwards limply. His blood slowly inked the white snow around him.
Looking back to the youkai holding what seemed to be a woman, the youkai began to beg for forgiveness frantically, but… What for?
“I’m s-sorry, my Lord! We didn’t mean to defy you! You are always our Lord, and will always obey you! We thought these were your orders! We did not know!” the youkai looked like he was about to cry. Pathetic. Just who let this pup into his pack? They would be dealt with for allowing such a dishonor grace his presence.
“You will tell this Sesshoumaru what you did and who told you to do it under my authority,” he spoke icily.
“I-it was the Lady! She said we were to guide them as far as they wanted, and when they got worn out, we would separate them while they’re weak. That is all we were told, my Lord!” he was actually crying now. Did I say pathetic?
Sesshoumaru eyed him carefully before shifting his gaze to the person he still held over his shoulder, “Who?”
The youkai looked back and forth between his Lord’s face and the person slung over his shoulder. “H-her? Oh, it’s the slayer, Lord.”
Sesshoumaru looked to the other youkai who had not said a word, “Were you part of this plan?”
“I was, my Lord. But as he said, we were given orders by the Lady who said this was by your demand. We were only trying to obey our Lord,” the youkai bowed his head and lowered to his knees, proving his submission to his superior.
Sesshoumaru faced the other youkai, “You will hand the slayer over to your packmate.”
“Y-yes, M’lord.” The youkai pulled the female off of his shoulder and brought her over to the other youkai he had traveled with.
“You are not worthy,” Sesshoumaru spoke as cold as the harsh wind around them before digging his fist and claws deep into the youkai’s abdomen. The youkai stared wide-eyed into space as the life dissipated within him and became a heap of flesh as he fell to his knees, then landed face-first in the snow.
Whisking his wrist away from him, he whipped off most of the dripping blood into the snow and off of his hand. “Where is the other?”
“I do not know where she is, but the last place we were when she had gone missing was on the trail to the hot springs. We were only about five minutes away from the place, so I’d assume she’s still around there,” the youkai kept his head bowed, not looking his Lord in the face, for he did not wish to cause any disrespect to believe they were of equal status.
Before the youkai who held the young slayer in his arms hadn’t even noticed that his Lord had left at the breach of his words. He had disappeared into the harsh blizzard without a trace.
Looking around to his previous comrades, he felt pride well in his chest that he had been spared. He had done good. He vowed to continue his loyalty to the Taisho Clan and made his way past the gates into the mansion.

Being who he was, Sesshoumaru was able to make it to the top of the mountain towards the hot springs within ten minutes of flitting. There was no way he would be able to smell anything in in this wind. It was unreliable, for the wind was only going in one direction, and it could be just going in the opposite direction that he needed to in order to save her.
Her? He knew that it was Kagome. All indications logically proved this, but because it was her he had made this a personal venture to bring her back to safety. Normally he would send a guard or something to fetch something he desired to keep alive, for whatever reason that may be. But no, he couldn’t. Not this time. It was her. But… Why? Why was he making this personal? They were not mates. He had no obligation to keep her alive. She was part of his plan, but he didn’t need to be there to see fit to her survival. Though, he felt in every fiber of his being that he had to.
Closing his eyes temporarily, he cleared his thoughts. He would deal with it later. There was no time to waste. He stood in the middle of the raging blizzard and focused on all of his senses. He lifted his nose to the air, inhaling deeply multiple times. His ears twitched as he listened for any sound that would give away her position.
As the time passed, his youkai began to bubble to the surface. The caged feeling he once had inside him before was thrashing to be let loose. For the first time in his life, he felt truly angry. His inability to sense anything unnatural around him made his fury rise. His youkai wanted to take the reigns. It wanted to find her, to save her. And he would let it.
With a growl reverberating within his chest, his more feral side began to seep through and take over. Before the transformation finished, his ears twitched at the sound of a scream coming from his left. He shoved his true form down as he raced towards the sound, moving in the same direction of the wind. That was why he had not been able to smell her.
His youkai overwhelmed him at the sound of the scream, feeling worried that it had been her. Worried? No such thing. Sesshoumaru clenched his jaw as he felt part of his youkai rise to the surface, but not take over. They would save her as one.

Kagome had been pulled into the forest and was scrambling to get away, but any effort she made was just a waste of her last bit of energy. She was scared out of her wits but could do nothing to get away.
After a few minutes of dragging her through the woods, her captor stopped and sat behind her. Kagome’s heart was beating so fast, she did not know what to do. She couldn’t scream, couldn’t fight, couldn’t plead. She did nothing but sit there, scared of what may be her impending death. Hot tears burned her ice-cold face as they slid down her cheeks. Her tears slid over her captor’s bare hand, which revolted her captor for some reason.
“Weak human, you’re nothing but trash to this world,” the person behind her spoke as they gripped her face tighter with their hand, applying painful pressure against her jaw.
Kagome whimpered in pain, but had realized she recognized the voice. Kagura?!
“Listen here, girly. You’ve done enough damage by being here, and I won’t allow it to continue. I’ve tried to look past it and ignore it, but you’re just unable to keep your hands to yourself. You’re just a little whore aren’t you?” Kagura had leaned into Kagome, spitting out cruel things next to her ear.
“You just want a good fuck from the all powerful Sesshoumaru, don’t you?” Kagura pulled Kagome closer to her and had used her other hand to move to the front of Kagome’s snow pants and forced her hand down into her underwear.
“This is what you want from him, isn’t it?” Kagura forced her fingers into Kagome’s virginity, not minding her sharp claws piercing her insides. Kagome screamed into Kagura’s hand, her eyes wide with shock. The pain was so terrible and surprising. She tried to close her legs and to fend off Kagura’s attack, but she was not strong enough. Her body already felt beat up from the walk to the hot springs, and had almost no fight left within her.
Kagome’s tears streamed down her face as she continued to cry and scream into Kagura’s hand. She felt a wetness around her inner thighs, but it was nothing like the kind of wetness she had experienced with Sesshoumaru. This was painful beyond words, and Kagome had concluded that it must be blood.
“You’ll never have him while he has me. And now, I’ll make it so no one will ever have you either. You’ll never dream of being with someone else. Especially not him.” Kagura forced in two more fingers, plunging them knuckle deep and felt her barrier just at the tip of her claw. Kagura grinned evilly, “So you’re a slutty little virgin who wanted her first to be by someone as powerful as our Lord? Don’t you have high standards for yourself, bitch. You’re nothing but scum to this world. You’ll never have someone like him.”
Kagura began to laugh devilishly as she enjoyed torturing Kagome. Her claws kept ripping her vaginal flesh, making Kagome’s screams heighten each time. Her legs were shaking in shock from the amount of pain she was enduring. She was going to die from blood loss at this rate, Kagura was wounding her so badly, and in a place so sensitive, she would never be able to physically love someone if she had made it out of this. Her cries only worsened at the thought.
“Let’s finish this,” Kagura spat into Kagome’s ear when she thrust her fingers one last time into her, breaking through her barrier with her claws.
Kagome bit down onto Kagura’s hand so hard it caused her to yank it away quickly. The sound of her scream made her own ears ring. Though, there was no way that in this storm she would be heard by someone to have them come save her.
In the midst of her agony, she felt Kagura stiffen behind her. Kagome couldn’t care less, but the suddenness of her pulling her hand out, revealing pure blood dripping from her fingers and palm, cause a surge of pain to ripple through her body. She saw Kagura leave as fast as she could out of the corner of her eye.
Kagome let herself fall to the ground, laying on her side as she stared blankly ahead of her. Her whole body trembled in shock and pain. She could feel blood dripping from her core and down her thighs, staining her pants and beginning to freeze.
She had no energy to move. Her willpower beaten down, she felt that this was the end. She slowly closed her eyes as she decided to let the night take her where it would. If she died tonight, she would have died doing everything she could to the very end. If she didn’t… Well… She didn’t believe that was likely.
Only moments later she felt herself being picked up off the ground and being pulled into a hard, warm body. She cried out in pain as her legs were moved uncomfortably when she was picked up. She opened her eyes half-lidded to see what danger she would be facing now, only to be met with copper eyes. This time, there was more red than gold, and he looked slightly different. His usual stoic face was now turned into a scowl. Though, from the way she had seen it, he was her angel. His silvery, snow-white hair blended with the scenery around them. His elfen-like face was as beautiful as ever. Was he here to save her? Or was he like his mate, Kagura, and was going to hurt her too?
Sesshoumaru was not looking down at her anymore, but was looking forward to make way to their safe-zone hut. There was no way she would survive making it back to the mansion.
When he had seen her laying there in the snow, he knew something bad had happened. When he had leaned down to pick her up, the smell had then reached his nose like it was a toxic gas, causing him to double back momentarily. Her virginal blood had been mixed with actual blood. She had been tainted in more ways than one by someone. This disgusted him, but he did not know why. He had tasted her blood before, and it was the sweetest, most amazing thing he had ever been blessed with tasting. Her scent did unspeakable things to him. And she now lay there on the cold earth, dying to someone’s abuse. Though, it wasn’t just some abuse. It was someone from his clan. Maybe it was someone who had been playing both sides. They could be from a different clan, disguising themselves to be part of his. Yes, he would find out. Later.
Sesshoumaru flitted quickly towards the hut, but could not move as fast as he liked. He needed to be gentle. Any rough jostling could send her through another wave of agony. He would not be the one to harm her. The sudden protectiveness of her bothered him. He never cared about anyone. Why was she different? No, not now.
Finally, the hut came into sight, youkai sight, and he made his way toward it. Upon reaching it, he quickly opened the door, causing a gush of snow and wind to blow into the hut, before closing it with his foot gracefully.
Sesshoumaru walked over towards the bed that had previously been set up and laid her down on top of the blankets. While he was leaning down, he looked down at her face, really looked, for the first time in two weeks. Sesshoumaru felt a pang of guilt surge through him and settle in his stomach. Just like last time, he felt that this was his fault. She was looking back at him, though weakly, as she reached a hand up to his face.
He felt her soft, cold fingertips touch his cheek gently and smiled, “Angel.” Kagome spoke so softly that if he were not youkai, he would not have heard it. Her eyes drifted close and her hand fell to the side of the bed.
What do you guys think? I'm going to bed now, so I'll edit whatever later. Lots of stuff will be unfolding soon!
