Kagome sighed as she sat under the tree in the garden of Hojo's small court yard. It wasn't big, but she understood why he didn't make it big. He didn't want the people of the village to think he thought they were better than he was. But even though she was away from hm, the feeling, the need for her to be close to him was starting to become too much for even her to bear. 'I don't know what is going on here.'

"Kagome."

Looking up over her shoulder she smiled at Hojo. "Hey Hojo."

"What's wrong?"

Another sigh as she dropped her head she shrugged. "I don't know what is going on. I miss my friends. I miss Inuyasha. In some way I even miss Sesshomaru."

"Sounds to me like you are just lonely."

"I guess that could be a big part of it."

Sitting down next to her Hojo reached over and took one of her hands. "I know I am not Inuyasha. I can't give you the expensive comforts of Sesshomaru, but Kagome I have been in love with you since the first day that I saw you. You don't know how many days now I have tried to work up the nerve to do this. But I do still love you. I would be honored if you would allow me a chance to make things right for you. Let me help heal the wounds left by others."

"Hojo I don't know............................"

"Please?"

She looked up into his brown eyes and then sighed as she smiled. He was just as cute as the Hojo from her time. 'Why not. It isn't like I know anyone else from this time.' "Sure."

Standing and pulling her up into his arms he smiled as he looked down into her eyes. "Thank you Kagome. I promise I will do my very best to make you happy."

"Rin?"

"Rin will simply be like a step daughter. I will not try to take his place in her life. I would never be able to live up to the greatness that is Sesshomaru to that little girl and I won't try."

With a bright smile Kagome nodded. "Thank you Hojo."

Taking this chance Hojo dipped his head and gently placed his lips to hers in a tender kiss. But what happened next he didn't expect.

Kagome watched as his lips came down to hers. 'Lets see how this feels.' But the instant that his lips touched hers, her eyes went wide. She grabbed her stomach and fell to her knees in his arms with a scream of pain. "Damnit!"

Worry etching his face Hojo fell to the ground with her and lifted her in his arms and rushed toward the house. Rin on his heals. "Kagome what is it?"

"I don't know." Then she let out another scream as another pain coursed through her stomach. "Its my stomach! It hurts!"

Bursting into Kagome's room he laid her down on the bed and then ran from the room. "I will go get the village doctor!"

Rin was at Kagome's bedside with tears streaming down her face. "Kagome!"

"It's alright Rin." Then she winced with pain again. "I promise I will be fine."

Shaking her head side to side she held onto her hand. "But what if your not!?"

Kagome hardened her eyes at the little girl. "I swore to you that I wouldn't leave you. I won't do it now!" Then all at once there was a whirl of activity in the room as a woman doctor and her assistants rushed into the room. Rin was sent outside to wait with Hojo. She was in such a pain filled daze that she didn't know what was going on. Then the doctor helped her drink some sort of liquid and it helped to calm her stomach some and the pain was lessened. "What is going on with me?"

The doctor just glared down at the girl in the bed. How the Headmaster could have welcomed a woman already pregnant into his home was beyond her. "I will only tell my headmaster." Then she turned and stormed out of the room. Once out of the room she was met by Hojo's worried eyes. "She is resting."

"Can I go in to see her?"

"Yes."

Hojo waited until Rin was back in the room with Kagome then glared. "What is wrong with her?"

"My Lord she is pregnant."

Hojo's eyes went wide and then he looked at the door. "Pregnant..................."

"My Lord she has obviously lied to you about it. I would send her..................................."

"Shut your mouth!" Hojo glared down at her. "I knew from the day she walked into the village that she had been with someone else. The thought never crossed our minds."

"What will you do then?"

"I will leave the final choice up to Kagome. But if she chooses to stay, The child will be given the Hojo name and will be my son or daughter."

The doctor gasped as she looked up at him. "You would take on another man's child?"

"I will take on two more if Kagome and Rin will stay with me." He then pushed past her and into Kagome's room.

Kagome looked up when she saw the worry etched all over his face. "What is it Hojo? What is wrong with me?"

Sitting down on the side of the bed he smiled as he held her hand. "I will support you no matter what choice you make after this Kagome. Whether you stay here with me, and we do this together. Or if you want to go back to him. The choice is going to be yours."

"What are you talking about Hojo?"

"Kagome you are pregnant. And from what you told me I think I know who the father is."

Her eyes wide as tears streamed down her face. Her hands going instantly to her stomach. "Sesshomaru......................................"

Rin gasped as she looked at Kagome. "We are going to go home right? Back to Lord Sesshomaru? You aren't going to let Hojo raise Lord Sesshomaru's baby are you!"

Seeing Rin hysterical like this Kagome reached out and pulled her down into her arms. 'I was hoping that this wouldn't happen. What do I do now?'

"Well miko what are you going to do?"

Every turned around to see a demoness standing just inside the window. Rin smiled as she rushed to her side. "Lady Kimi!"

Scooping up the child Kimi smiled at her. "Yes I came to check on you and the miko." Then she turned stern eyes to Kagome. "And I was going to ask you to return to him. I hate the fact that you are human. I know circumstances on how it happened. But he is my pup and if I don't do anything then I will lose him."

"Lose him?"

Nodding she never moved. "Since the day he let you leave, he was further into the bond than even he thought that he was. His demon is trying to force him to hunt for you and take you back. He is fighting it with everything that he is and it is weakening him."

Kagome saw the emotion flickering in the demons eyes and she knew what she felt. She did love him. How he did it she will never know. He killed everyone she cared about, raped her, and now she is pregnant. she dropped her eyes as she tightened her hand inside Hojo's. "Hojo I need to......................."

Hojo smiled as he reached out and put a finger to her lips with a sigh. "If nothing else Kagome. I at least got to share a single kiss with you. I will escort you to him."

"I would not."

Turning to look up at Kimi both Kagome and Hojo blinked. "Why not?"

"The news that you are pregnant will silence the demon the instant he hears it. It is the most primal of emotions for a inner dog demon. Mate, protect, sire/mother pups. Knowing you came back, and the smell and hearing you are pregnant, will silence him. Sesshomaru will be Sesshomaru not long after you hear that."

Hojo turned concerned eyes to Kagome. "I don't know if you should do it on your own Kagome."

Kagome smiled as she stood up and hugged him. "Don't worry about me Hojo. He won't hurt me. I will send you word soon and let you know that I am alright okay?"

"Okay." Hojo then watched as Kagome and a now very excited Rin joined several demons outside the village and headed back for Sesshomaru. "Yes Kagome at least I was able to share one kiss with a woman I have loved for a long time now.
