Sesshomaru’s Castle:
After he had cleaned Sess up and put him to bed, Inuyasha left the room and headed towards the mess hall. For some reason he was extremely hungry.
Walking in, he noticed four of The Eight sitting together. The hawk (if he remembered correctly) waved him over.
“Built up an appetite I see.” Chikako said sweetly.
“Whatever could you have been doing?” The falcon asked innocently.
“Shut up.” Inuyasha mumbled, blushing.
Daichi, Akiyoshi and Chikako laughed while Arashi signaled to a passing server for another plate to be added to the table.
“Lord Sesshomaru went back to work I take it?” queried the kitsune.
“……………...” How the hell was he supposed to answer that?
“Don’t tell me he’s sleeping?”
“Yeah… sleeping.” Inuyasha murmured. He couldn’t bring himself to tell them what had actually happened and Sess would probably kill him if he did.
When a bowl was placed in front of him, Inuyasha thanked the server and dug in. It seemed to be some type of beef stew. Gods’ but he was starving.
“Hey, why didn’t we get any of that?” Daichi complained, “It looks good.”
“It’s what’s simmering for tomorrow… but it’s done enough to be eaten now.”
“That explains nothing.”
“Fine… First off: Amaya’s a close friend, so I know all about this young demon already. Second: from what I heard earlier, it sounds as if he had a good work out and needs the energy.” He smiled as he walked away.
Inuyasha choked on a mouthful of food and everyone in the surrounding area laughed… loudly. Grabbing a drink, he washed down the food lodged in his throat. Man, how many times did he need to be embarrassed in one day? Damn it, it now appeared that his sex life was an open book.
“Sorry. You’ll get used to everyone eventually, most of us in the castle have a dirty sense of humor.” Akiyoshi said with a grin.
“Yay, something to look forward too.” The young hanyou grumbled.
“Don’t worry, it will die down after a while. Though everyone will probably want to get in at least one or two good one-liner’s.” the kitsune said in sympathy.
“How many are in the castle, exactly?” Inuyasha asked.
“There’s only a few thousand.” Daichi laughed.
“Shit.”
“Don’t sweat it, you’ll live through it.” A small pause followed that statement, then, “Soooo… are you the seme or the uke?” Daichi asked.
Akiyoshi smacked the fledging for that one.
“You’re an idiot, Daichi.” Chikako muttered.
“What?! Like you all don’t want to know? You’re the uke right… I mean, I really can’t see Lord Sesshomaru… Okay, I’m starting to get pictures now… so I’m gonna stop right there.”
Looking around at the others’ Inuyasha realized that while none of them was waiting for an answer, they were curious. Wondering how much he should tell them, he blew out a breath then shrugged slightly and said in an almost inaudible voice, “Actually I’m… both.”
Four demons stared at him, utterly shocked.
Daichi was the first to recover. “ARE YOU FUCKING SHITTING ME?” he shouted.
“Umm… no.” The younger man said slightly taken aback at the demon’s loudness.
Seeing everyone starting to look in his direction, the falcon lowered his voice and turning to Arashi asked, “Is he shitting me? I didn’t even know that was possible! Did YOU know it was possible?”
“I think it depends on the couple.” The blue haired demon said quietly.
“Yeah, but I mean… yours wouldn’t, neither would mine but… but Lord Sesshomaru would? I didn’t think of that as a possibility at all. Son of a bitch, now I’m fucking jealous.” The falcon was almost fuming.
Hearing that, Inuyasha smirked. “Sorry.” He said it insincerely… he had to get his revenge where he could, after all.
“Sure you are, you bastard.” Daichi replied.
When Inuyasha just laughed, the others’ exhaled in relief. The falcon always seemed to push things to their breaking point. It appeared his judgment was right this time though, the young dog demon’s sense of humor looked to be similar to the young falcons.
After thinking about this for a minute, they weren’t sure if that could be considered a good thing.
Finishing his meal, Inuyasha stood. “Could one of you send a bowl of this to Sess, in about fifteen minutes? He could probably eat.”
“Leaving so soon? Stay, we’ll get to know one another better.” Akiyoshi said.
“I would love to, but Sess should be waking soon. I need to talk to the healer and get back before that happens.”
“Is it truly that important?” Arashi inquired.
“It’s absolutely essential.” The young hanyou said seriously.
Seeing that he meant it, the assassin demon replied, “Then good luck.”

After speaking to Daisuke, Inuyasha returned to Sess’s rooms. The conversation with the healer had taken longer than he thought.
He grimaced somewhat when he saw that his brother was awake and eating.
“Where did you need to go that was so urgent?” Sesshomaru inquired, as he set the bowl on the nearside table.
“Sorry, I was hungry.” Inuyasha replied softly, wondering if his brother was going to bring up what had happened.
“If you leave like that again, I shall confine you to the bed for three days straight.”
Nope, not gonna say a word, an ultimatum on the other hand... Hmm, should he or shouldn’t he…?   Yeah right, holding back was just not in his nature.
“Was that supposed to be a threat?” Inuyasha questioned, scratching his head.
The great dog demon seemed speechless for a moment then, “Kami, you are going to be harder to deal with than I imagined.”
“Ahhhh, am I supposed to feel sorry for you? Yeah right, not gonna happen ya stupid shit! You can totally deal! You chose me, remember? Now you’re completely and utterly stuck.”
“More like your human half chose me.” The daiyoukai muttered.
“Yeah. Whatever you say, Sesshomaru.” Inuyasha said, sounding hurt.
“Gods!” Sesshomaru swore in his head. “That is not what I meant. Yasha…” Sighing, he continued, “I do not seem to be able to keep my emotions in check, concerning you. I felt… disappointed when I woke and found you were gone.”
“Shit, now I have to say I’m sorry. I was hungry and figured you would be also when you got up, so I just went. I didn’t think of anything else.” Inuyasha climbed into bed and laid his head on Sess’s lap, “I promise never again, okay?”
When Sesshomaru started stroking his hair, Inuyasha knew he was forgiven. Sighing, he settled more deeply onto the bed.
The young demon didn’t want to tell Sess about his meeting with the healer just yet. That would be kept between him and Daisuke for now.
“Are you tired, Inuyasha? Should we postpone the mating ritual until tomorrow?”
“So soon, Sess? Are you sure we shouldn’t wait for a while?”
“Are you planning on changing your mind?”
“NEVER! You are mine and I am yours.”
“Then what would be the point of waiting? It would be better for it to be done before we hold the trial of the counselor’s. Introducing you as the newest Lord of the West, we must present a united front and the mating will speak volumes. Too, when the bond is in place we will be stronger as well, which may… be needed.”
“You think we’re going to have a fight on our hands?”
“It is a distinct possibility.”
“Fine, I get it, I get it… well then, are we going to do it here or do you have somewhere else in mind?”
“I would prefer it to be somewhere completely private. How does a secluded hot spring that only I know about sound?”
“Mmm, sounds perfect. I’m not all that tired actually, I would say I’m… rather energized from before.”
Sesshomaru glared at him for the reminder of what happened. Inuyasha smirked.
“Fine, shall we go then?” Sesshomaru asked.
“Umm, not just yet. Apparently, the cheetah sisters are awake. So, we should do the interrogation now instead of later. Unless you want me to put it off?”
“No, I will wait until you are finished. It shall happen tonight regardless. Do you agree?” the daiyoukai queried.
“Yes… it will definitely happen tonight. Nothing will stand in the way of my becoming your mate. Always and Forever, Sess.”
“Forever and Always, Yasha.”

Inuyasha entered the cell holding the cheetah sister’s with Hayato and Arashi. Looking at them, they didn’t seem to be all that dangerous. The young demon knew though that looks could be utterly deceiving. Studying them carefully, he tried to look for a weakness.
~They will protect each other until death.~
~So pressure one… to get the other to talk.~
“Thank you.” Inuyasha said silently to his other halves.
“So… talk.” he asked bluntly.
“We will never give you anything.” The older sister, Kimiko stated.
“Is that so? Everyone eventually breaks under torture, ya know? What makes you think you’ll be any different?” was the softly asked question.
“Bring it on!” the majo replied defiantly.
“Really? Can you truly be that stupid?” the hanyou said with scorn. “If I threaten you, Katsu would definitely talk. She’s the weaker link and you know it! So fucking stop with the bravado, cuz it ain’t gonna work. Likewise if I threatened her, do you really believe you could hold out?” Inuyasha sneered.
Kimiko only glared insolently.
“Fine. Arashi, pick one.” The young demon sighed heavily.
The assassin demon accessed the sister’s and then stepped up to the younger one. Though Katsu appeared to be the weaker, he could tell that the elder would protect the younger at all costs. Arashi gripped her hair forcibly and pulled her head back, then laid a dagger against her throat making a small nick.
Katsu gasped in pain.
“STOP!” Kimiko yelled.
“It’s okay, Aneki. I will be fine.” The younger cheetah said.
“NO! I will not allow it! Stop!” she shouted.
“You’ll talk?” Inuyasha asked quietly, motioning to the assassin demon to step back.
“What do you want to know?” the majo said, defeated.
“So, again… What’s your story?”
“Our parents left us at a very young age. After that it seemed any and all friends we made… they ALL turned on us in the end. What were we supposed to do? Protecting ourselves at all costs became our mantra! Well that and trust no one. I did everything to keep us alive and fed! Sooo… Fuck you! We absolutely despise demons like Sesshomaru who had everything handed to them on a silver platter.” Kimiko yelled.
“Seriously?! That’s IT? Granted I hated him in the beginning and he’s my brother! I also… always thought he didn’t have to work for what he had, but I was totally wrong. He protects what’s his religiously. Sess will never give up what he considers to be his responsibility. Shocking, I know.” Snorting, he continued, “So you were abandoned, huh? How old were you? Shit… been there, done that! But… I am not such an asshole to lay my problems on others’. Kami, but I really hate demons who will not take responsibility for their own Gods’ damned actions!” Inuyasha said with scorn.
“My mother died when I was 7 fucking years old! From then on I was on my own, at least you had each other. Nobody helped ME, nobody gave a good God’s damn. Do you have any idea of what happens to a young demon with no protectors? Do you think you are the only demons with a horrible past? Yeah, right! So seriously, grow the fuck UP!” Inuyasha snarled.
The two cheetah sisters stared at him in shock. No one had ever spoken to them in that manner in their entire life. Here was someone who had a tragic past as well, yet he didn’t seem to be unhappy or in pain. The half-demon looked completely normal.
“Honestly, if you don’t treat people the way you want to be treated yourself… nothing good will ever come your way.” Inuyasha finished softly.
Kimiko stared at the hanyou for a long moment. “You can say that but… aren’t you going to kill us no matter what? Why should I answer your questions?”
“If your answers are what I want to know and you don’t deceive us… I’ll allow you to live and leave the castle safely. I will absolutely know if you lie though. So think carefully and choose.”
The elder cheetah seemed to be weighing the truth of his words. Finally, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “I will choose to trust you.”
“Good choice.” Hayato replied, speaking up.
Kimiko glared at the Shogun, then turned her attention back to Inuyasha. “We were hired by a cat demon to slip the potion to Sesshomaru. We did not know how it would affect him. We were to send reports frequently on his condition and who was supporting him while he was incapacitated.”
“Do you know why the cat wanted to do this? What did they hope to gain?” Inuyasha asked.
“No, but… it is siblings. All are different cats, though I don’t know what kinds. We met with a jaguar and caught the scent of three other related cats. She knew things about us that we’ve never told another, she also knew the castle pretty well and told us where there would be an opening to slip the potion into Sesshomaru’s food.” The cat demon finished.
“Name?” Arashi questioned.
Flicking him a quick glance, she sneered. “Names were never exchanged, but they are from the East.”
“There are others.” Katsu said quietly.
“Others?” Inuyasha inquired.
“Spies. I think the Shogun sickness was caused by the cat siblings and since we did not do it… there must be others.”
“How did you know about my illness?” the falcon probed.
Kimiko snorted, “Your mate carried you through the castle. Many saw this and rumors circulated about your condition. When you appeared two days later in perfect health, the gossip died down and was all but forgotten.”
~The younger one spoke up, even though she’s terrified.~
~She should be! They almost killed Sesshomaru. Are we really just going to let that go?~
~They were just trying to survive. Though I won’t forgive them for what they have done, I think Inuyasha is correct in his decision to grant them a second chance.~
~Fine! But a threat is in order, so before we leave… let US out.~
~Agreed.~
Nodding at the younger cheetah, Inuyasha said, “Thank you for speaking up.”
Turning to Hayato, the young demon ordered. “Give them two days’ worth of supplies and have Etsuo and Chikako escort them out. They should use their own judgment about where it would be safe to leave them.”
The General nodded in understanding, though he wondered what Lord Sesshomaru would have to say about this unexpected development.
Smiling slightly, Inuyasha said. “Don’t worry, I’ll handle Sess.” He then sighed and lowered his head.
A strong demonic aura suddenly filled the room. Hayato and Arashi put their hands on their weapons and the two cheetah sister’s started shivering in fear.
Inuyasha raised his head and looked at the trembling cats. Kimiko and Katsu stared at the hanyou’s changed appearance. Blood red eyes, jagged light purple stripes along cheek bones, longer fangs and sharpened claws were the most noticeable. Even the older demons were looking at him suspiciously.
“Know this…” Inuyasha said in a deep, harsh voice. “If you ever again threaten or harm ANYTHING I consider to be mine… your lives are forfeit. There will be NO other chances.” Bowing his head again the hanyou reverted back to normal and the deadly atmosphere dissipated.
Staring again at the majo and her sister, Inuyasha gave one last piece of advice. “You have been warned. I suggest you take this opportunity to turn your lives around. Others may not be as merciful as I.” With that, he exited the room.
As the cheetah sister’s tried to overcome their terror, the falcon and the assassin demon stared at the closed door in awe.
“Well, he’s going to compliment Lord Sesshomaru perfectly.” Arashi stated.
“Indeed, he is.” Hayato acknowledged. “Perfectly.”

“You are going to release them? Did I hear you correctly?” The daiyoukai asked evenly.
“Yep.” When Inuyasha returned to Sess’s rooms, Daisuke was also there.
“Are you sure this is wisest course?” The healer inquired. “What if they go back to the cats that hired them?”
“If they do… most likely they’ll die as their usefulness will be over as soon as they leave the castle.” The young demon shrugged. He gave them a chance, what they did with it was up to them. They were not his responsibility any longer.
“I will allow it. You appear to be confident about your decision, therefore your verdict will stand.” Sesshomaru thought Inuyasha seemed more self-assured. This could turn out to be a very good thing.
The Inu demon lifted an eyebrow and smiled slightly at his brother.
“I shall leave you two alone then.” Daisuke said. He wished to talk to Hayato and Arashi about what had really happened during the interrogation.
Waiting until the healer left the room, Inuyasha asked. “Whatever shall we do now?”
Golden eyes rolled at the simpering tone, Sesshomaru went to the largest biggest window in his room and put one foot on the sill. Glancing back at his little brother, he arched an eyebrow in challenge.
“First… let us see if you can keep up.”
Laughter floated on the wind as his aniki disappeared. Inuyasha swore under his breath then quickly followed.
Sesshomaru flew and Inuyasha sped through the forest. The young youkai was running full out, yet he couldn’t seem to close the distance between them all that much. Hearing Sess mock him wasn’t helping anything either.
Once in a while he would see the daiyoukai’s laughing eyes look back at him. The bastard actually thought he was funny. Let’s see how he liked this then.
Spotting a large tree, Inuyasha jumped to the top then leapt as high as he could… to land lightly on Sess’s back.
“Sooo, where are we going? Is it far?” the hanyou asked nonchalantly.
“One of these days I will no longer be surprised by your actions.” Sesshomaru said with a laugh.
“I sincerely hope not. You really need someone to make you laugh more, Sess.” Inuyasha stated.
“Well, I can guarantee my life will be much happier with you in it.”
The younger sibling froze for a moment upon hearing those words, then buried his head into his brother’s hair and squeezed him tightly. Sometimes Sesshomaru could almost make his heart stop. Inuyasha was astonished at what his aniki could make him feel. Kami, but he loved him.
Feeling Inuyasha’s reaction to his words made the daiyoukai’s heart to skip a beat. His otouto showed everything in the purest of ways. Gods’ but he loved him.
Silence reigned, but it was not an awkward one. Both seemed content just being in each other’s presence. Considering what had happened between the two in the past, who could have ever guessed that the both of them would one day crave and actually enjoy each other’s company.
“We are here.”
Looking around, Inuyasha said. “It’s beautiful. Did you make this?” There was a waterfall flowing into a huge hot spring. There were numerous plants, everything from hanging ivy to blooming red flowers. It was a perfect oasis.
“No, it has been here since I acquired the castle. I do not know if it was the previous owner who had it done or not, though it seems to have been here for quite a long time. I found it while inspecting my territory.” Sesshomaru replied.
“Let me guess, you scouted your entire territory? Exactly how many miles was that?”
“I do not recall.”
“Liar.” Golden eyes danced in the moonlight.
“Fine, it is approximately 3,756 by 2,849 miles long.”
“Please, you know it down to the last inch.”
“Of course I do, it is mine and I will protect every last piece of it.” The Lord of the Western Lands said arrogantly.
“I know that now, Sess and it’s one of the things I admire about you most. You will always protect what’s yours.” Inuyasha said quietly. “You’re actually a pretty reliable demon Lord, which kinda shocked me. I get it though, you care even if you don’t show it. I love you for YOU, Sess and with every new thing I learn about you, I seem to end up loving you even more.” The young demon finished, eyes glowing brightly.
“Gods’ Inuyasha, you truly have no idea how your words can drive me absolutely insane.” Sess said, pulling his brother tightly to him.
“Umm, what?”
Sesshomaru sighed, his sibling apparently did not have any idea of how he could inflame him with just what he said. “Your statements concerning me can make me almost lose complete control. Honestly, holding back is becoming troublesome.”
“Why in the world would you need to hold back? I want you anyway, anyhow I can get you. Love you, Sess.” Inuyasha whispered softly, hugging his brother tightly.
“Gods’ you…” To keep the younger demon from driving him more insane, Sesshomaru crushed his brother’s mouth to his.
It felt like Sess was trying to devour him and Inuyasha didn’t seem to mind any. Tongues waged war and the younger demon fisted his hands in the daiyoukai’s hair. Kami, but he wanted more…
When his brother gripped his ass tightly, pulling him flush against him, the young demon moaned loudly.
Ripping his mouth from Sess’, “Shit, shit, shit… get naked… Now!” Inuyasha growled.
Laughing at his otouto’s eagerness, the daiyoukai started removing his garments. He apparently was not doing it quickly enough in Inuyasha’s eyes, since the latter was already done and waiting impatiently. When Sesshomaru was finished, a naked Yasha jumped into his arms.
The young demon fiercely brought their mouths together again and when Sesshomaru slipped a finger into Inuyasha’s entrance, he gasped for breath.
Sesshomaru sank to the ground, making sure not to stop the movement of his hand or lose the grip he had on his brother. Once they were in a comfortable position, the older demon added a couple fingers, raked claws and lightly bit into Inuyasha’s chest.
“Oh, Gods’… Enough, Sess… inside… want you inside…”
“Damn it, Yasha.” The older demon swore… his otouto was driving him absolutely crazy.
Knowing that they were both to consumed to hold back, the daiyoukai removed his hand and once Inuyasha was positioned correctly, he thrust upward… hard.
“Son of a…” the young demon shouted. As his brother repeatedly plunged into him, Inuyasha panted harshly. Too good, was all he could think… Kami, a lifetime was not going to be enough.
As Sesshomaru moved in and out of his brother, he thought that he would never be able to get enough of Inuyasha. The daiyoukai really couldn’t understand why he had challenged him and pushed him away. Why had he wasted so many years…?
Forever and Always was going to become his mantra… one lifetime with Yasha would not be sufficient. Not even death would keep him from his beloved. One way or another, he would find his way back to him… Inuyasha, his perfect little mate.
“Sess…” Inuyasha whimpered.
“I know.” Sesshomaru said gasping. He started thrusting, faster and harder, until he knew they were both close. Feeling his impending release, the daiyoukai asked…
“Yasha?”
“Yessss…”
Tilting heads to the right, both simultaneously bit into the others neck. A euphoric feeling flowed through Inuyasha and Sesshomaru and power started to gather around the two demons. It looked like a physical wall separating them from the rest of the world, the energy was so strong. A rainbow of colors, glowing and swirling surrounded the two brothers. The siblings noticed none of this however… they were to wrapped up in what they were feeling.
As they reached orgasm, both swallowed a small amount of blood, which completed the bond. The powerful force which had surrounded the two, erupted like it was freed from a prison. A tremendous pulse of energy spread out from the grotto. It was like it was letting the world know… that a supreme couple had been born.
Coming down from his high, Inuyasha looked at his new mate and said. “That was impressive.”
“I hope you realize, I am not even close to being done yet…” Sess said seductively.
Smiling and lowering his head to kiss Sesshomaru once again, Inuyasha thought… indeed, one lifetime would never be enough.

Daisuke had called the other four of The Eight to his room so everyone could hear what had taken place with the cheetah sister’s.
Arashi had already told Etsuo and Chikako what had transpired and gave them their walking orders.
Hayato explained what Inuyasha had decided regarding Kimiko and Katsu. The others who had not been there were astounded to hear that the young hanyou had chosen to let them go. When their Shogun told them what Inuyasha had done at the end, they were amazed at what he described. If it had affected Arashi and on top of that even Hayato, just exactly how strong was this young demon?
Then Daisuke told them of his first encounter with Inuyasha and they slowly started to understand what they were going to be dealing with. If the young demon was strong now… what would the bond bring? This would also apply to Lord Sesshomaru. The mating of the brothers’ was going to be phenomenal. The Lords of the Western Lands were going to be the most powerful demons in the world.
“It will be fine. As always, we’ll deal with anything and everything that comes our way.” Hayato said.
“Which may or may not include… trying to kill the Lord, trying to kill Inuyasha, pandemonium, outrage, breaking of hearts, random acts of chaos, weeping, fights in general and who knows what else.” After ticking each one off with a finger, Akiyoshi finished with, “Damn it, these next few days are gonna suck!”
“Ahh, there’s the love of my life’s optimistic outlook. I tell you, I can’t live without it!” The eagle said happily. Fusao grunted when his mate punched him.
“We’ll just have to be prepared for anything. Including the ridiculous, like fights among Lord Sesshomaru’s admirers.” Arashi chimed in.
Hachi spoke up, “Whichever way we look at it, things are going to be hectic. Should we stock up on weapons?” The wolf was a practical demon and always thought of the essentials first.
“Probably… just to be safe. But only incapacitate, don’t kill… unless absolutely necessary.” The Shogun told them.
Daisuke joined the conversation, “I had better inform my assistants that the will be injuries in the near future.” He pulled the rope to summon Amaya, she was perfect for situations like this. Though she was technically a servant, she had a vast network of friends (spies) throughout the castle.
Daisuke rejoined the group after his whispered conversation with Amaya. They knew word would spread quickly at the cat demon’s order.
“Yeah, but Lord Hiroaki is gonna be a pain in the ass.” As his mate glared at him, Daichi said, “What, you know it’s true. I’m just saying… maybe give Lord Raiden a head’s up and he can get him drunk or something.”
“That was not a bad suggestion Daichi… but I fear it is too late.” Arashi said.
With that said, a shock-wave of energy hit the castle. The demons in the stillroom looked upon one another incredulously. The power in that wave had the capacity to knock them off their feet.
“I wonder what most will think about that blast of power? It has the feel of Lord Sesshomaru but most won’t know Inuyasha’s signature.” Fusao remarked.
“I suppose some will recognize it, they both have the feel of InuTaisho after all.” Daisuke replied.
“Yeah, that’s true.” The younger falcon said with a sigh. “Shit, we really should’ve waited until things calmed down before letting Etsuo and Chikako leave.”
“Too late for regrets now.” The eagle said with a grin. “Have a little faith… fledgling.”
“Damn it, you know I hate that! I’m gonna kick your ass, Fusao!” The young falcon yelled. While the eagle was laughing, the Shogun interrupted.
“Enough… Let’s get to work.” Hayato said with authority.
“Good luck.” The healer whispered quietly.
As everyone headed for the door and the falcon and eagle continued their bickering… the General looked back at Daisuke with a serious expression, “To you as well… we’re all gonna need it.”

In the East:
Kuriyama and Neikan were spending much more time together than before. The lion had controlled his temper admirably these last few days. They discussed the situation with the West and just spoke about everyday things.
The jaguar hadn’t received any visions of the castle since the last one. She wasn’t getting any visions, as a matter of fact. This was not entirely unheard but this was the longest it had ever gone on for. It had been a little over two weeks now and she was beginning to wonder if she had gone head-blind. Kuriyama constantly felt like a part of her was missing, so she tried to stay busy in order to ignore the empty feeling inside her.
“Still worrying?” Neikan asked.
“Yeah… I keep opening myself up but it doesn’t seem to be working.” The jaguar sighed. “Guess I’ll just have to keep trying.”
“It will come back…soon I think.” The lion said while staring towards the West.
“I truly hope you are right. Well, I’m a bit tired so I think I’ll turn in.” As Kuriyama stood, the pulse of energy hit the castle. The jaguar was literally picked up and thrown off her feet. Neikan rushed to catch her and she let out the most agonizing scream he had ever heard.
As the lion held Kuriyama, she went into what seemed to be some type of convulsion. Her thrashing became so bad that he had to actually use all of his strength just to subdue her. He knew he was injuring her in the process, but it couldn’t be helped.
Shriek after shrieks were now coming from the jaguar. Knowing help was needed fast, Neikan let out a thunderous roar in case his siblings had not heard the screams.

Akuma finally got her bloodlust under control. She had changed back to her normal appearance. Her hair was stirred softly by the breeze coming from the lake and eyes were dreamy in her relaxed state.
Fantasies of Sesshomaru were playing through her head. That she would not be the one to save her love still irritated her, so she was just keeping them short and sweet.
Sesshomaru and her taking a day off and lazily spending all of it in bed, sharing an intimate dinner together,       cuddling their first-born (of course it was be male as Sesshomaru would need an heir) and ruling from their respective thrones.
All these things brought a smile to her face and caused her to lightly drowse.
When a terrible scream echoed through the forest, Akuma went into battle mode. That had been her sister’s voice. Calling upon her youkai for strength, she ran as fast as she ever had in her life. Kuriyama had sounded as if she were dying.
When her brother’s roar for help reached her the leopard put on another burst of speed, faintly she could still hear her siblings piercing wails. That was when the pulse of unbridled power slammed into her causing her to be knocked to the ground.
Akuma felt the presence of Sesshomaru and one other, though that did not matter at the moment as she needed to get to her family as soon as possible.

Kumori was in the middle of taking a break from working on the potion for Inuyasha, he hadn’t slept since he started yesterday. It was not going as well as he hoped it for either.
The combination of ingredients needed to be absolutely perfect. If they were off by even a little, the potion would not be as effective and may fail completely.
The tiger wondered if a bath might help to clear his head. Yes, that was an excellent idea.
Striding towards his bathing room, he idly speculated whether the two cheetah sisters’ were still alive, not that it mattered. They had accomplished what they were meant to. Finding more demons who wished to take down Sesshomaru would not be a problem. Others were always jealous of those who had what they, themselves did not.
Making the spell that would keep their identities hidden was a different story though. Thank Gods’ they still had spies in the castle which had not yet been found, because if he had to work on that... Inuyasha’s would have to be put on the back-burner.
He had a bad feeling about Sesshomaru’s younger brother and with what Neikan had said about him being a threat, this needed to be done and used as soon as possible.
A loud scream snapped him out of his thoughts, then a wall of energy hit him full-force. Bracing himself, Kumori rode out the wave. He felt both Sesshomaru’s and Inuyasha’s auras and… that they were clearly joined together.
When his brother roared, the tiger ignored him. Let the others deal with what had happened. Kumori knew exactly what that pulse had been and he was seriously pissed off.
The potion must be finished now and a new aspect needed to be added as well.
Inuyasha’s fate was now sealed, he would die for daring to dream that he was anywhere near good enough for Lord Sesshomaru. The Daiyoukai though…he would suffer unspeakable pain before he joined his brother in hell.

Outside Kaede's village:
Kagome and company were finally getting ready to leave on their journey. They had borrowed Kirara from Kohaku since he was spending time learning a new battle technique from someone he had met in his travels. They were discussing how miles they thought they could make in a day, when they were blasted by a pulse of pure power.
“That felt like Inuyasha…” Kagome said abruptly.
The ex-demon slayer looked at her husband with worry, “As well as… Lord Sesshomaru.”
The monk wondered if Sango or Kagome realized what the energy that hit them had been. His forefather’s had written about it in the family journal. What nobody really knew was… after talking to the bonded couple, his ancestor’s had actually named it.
Inuyasha and Lord Sesshomaru were Reikan no Nakama tachi. The young hanyou had finally mated… and to his brother, no less. The future the miko envisioned with the half demon was not ever going to happen now. Miroku really didn’t wish to be the one to tell her that though.
The monk knew that, for demons mating with your sibling was nothing taboo, but he didn’t think Kagome would see it that way. He wondered if Rin had known this was coming. She seemed connected to Lord Sesshomaru somehow and she was the only one who noticed that something was wrong with Kagome. Miroku turned towards the young girl to see her reaction.
Kagome’s face was twisted with hatred and rage, though she controlled it admirably a moment later. Miroku looked around to see if anyone else had noticed her transformation. Sango was staring towards the West, but Kirara was gazing at the miko intently.
Whispering under his breath, “Kirara…” when she turned her great head towards him, “I know as well. We will wait and watch but… be on guard.” The demon cat nodded her agreement. The monk glanced back at Kagome to see if she had caught any of the exchange between him and nekomata.
Thankfully, she was deep in conversation with his wife. The monk shook his head slightly, trying to organize his thoughts. Kagome… his friend, his pack member (Inuyasha had rubbed off on him in some ways), his family, may be, in fact… his enemy.
How was he supposed to deal with this situation? This did not bode well for the future. Miroku had no clue as to what he was going to do…

The whole of Sesshomaru’s territory was made up by me. I couldn’t calculate it accurately. Not that it really matters, nobody’s gonna remember it anyhow!
