Kagome stares at the man thing standing in the doorway; well I guess he more closely resembles a disfigured baboon… that can talk? She has her bow and arrow trained on him as she stands in front of the group of people.
“I don’t know how a baboon can talk and have no legs or arms but whatever but-“ the man sighs and pulls back his hood and kagome gasps, “ooohh! But still-”
“You annoy me with your useless yapping” He growls, “be a good little Miko and come with me” He holds his hand out.
Kagome’s eyebrows shoot up in shock and she laughs, but keeps her bow trained on him, “Why is everyone calling me that? I am not a damn Miko!” she tries not to snap at the group of women behind her as they chatter excitedly while their children beg to know what a Miko is.
“Will you all shut up!” the man snarls, baring his teeth and Kagome’s eyes widen in shock when a memory long forgotten surfaces in her mind.
*Flashback*
“Kagome darling! Not so close to the walls!” a feminine voice calls
A young Kagome turns and waves as she skips along the wall picking dandelions. She giggles when her plump mother waddles after her, she spins around and waves a hand full of bright yellow flowers at her mother excitedly.
“Mama, Mama! Look how many I got!” Kagome squeals as he mom walks up to her breathing slightly heavier than normal.
“Honey mama’s in no condition to be chasing after you” she says while patting Kagome’s head and steering her away from the wall.
“Mama? Why can’t I go outside anymore?” Kagome asks while clutching her flowers.
“Outside the protection of the palace are dangerous things that would like to hurt you or use you” Her mother mummers, “we simply wish to protect you.”
As soon as the word ‘you’ leaves her mouth dark laughter fills the air along with purple miasma, “Oh but dear Ai, you did not anticipate the dangers coming in did you?”
Ai pushes her daughter behind her protectively as a man materializes in front of them, an evil grin on his face.
He has pale skin that is made to look even paler by his jet black hair. His face has a sort of feminine build but is paled by his devilishly handsome features. He narrows red eyes on Kagome cowering behind her mother.
“Leave filth” Ai hisses as she pulls a dagger from her kimono and points it in his direction.
“You believe that scrap of metal able to kill me?” He laughs as a tentacle shoots out of his back and slaps it away before wrapping tightly around her neck, “you insult me wench.”
“Mama!” kagome wails before screaming for help in a loud screech.
The man glowers at the child just as the thundering of footsteps is heard coming nearer, and her father’s voice calling out to them in a panicked voice.
The man rolls his eyes and throws Ai to the ground with a disgusted scoff, she cries out and twists so she lands on her back. Aki rushes into the garden and grabs his wife before swinging his sword in the direction of the man, “who the hell are you?”
“I will be your destroyer” he man says, “Naraku the ruler of Japan” He throws his hand up and begins to fade, “have fun with my little present.”
As soon as he disappears a rumbling noise begins to grow and demons begin pouring over the wall.
*End Flashback*
Kagome gasps her eyes wide as she stares at the man from the vision.
“I know you” she says in a hoarse voice before swinging her bow and arrow up, her eyes turning bright pink, “and I’m going to fucking kill you” she hisses as her arrow charges with Miko energy.

“Put out the fires!” Kaede cries while handing a bucket full of water to a young woman, and turning to fill another one.
Kaede looks around for Kagome while doing this, fearing for the child’s safety.
‘This is much to like the past’ she thinks with a grimace as she tries not to breath in the smoke permeating the air. She hears a blast in the back area of the village and turns in time to see a bright flare of pink blast through the air. The explosion rushes out towards them, “get to cover!” A villager screams as they all rush towards the hut nearest to them.
All of them watch in wonder as the demons in the village scream in pain when the pink wave of energy washes over them, their skin shriveling up and burning away. Kaede feels fear swirl up inside of her, the only reason kagome would release that kind of energy would be if she was in danger. Her eyes dart to her hut just as a blood curdling howl breaks the deadly silent air.

Kagome breathes heavily her legs shaking as she holds another arrow steady staring at the man who is now missing about half of his body. He grins in joy just as his body disappears, a small wooden doll falling to the ground where he had been standing, ashes swirling in from the blown away roof.
“Well done my dear” His voice carries through the air, “Now I won’t ever leave you alone.” Then his presence leaves.
Kagome collapses to her knees, gritting her teeth as she uses her bow to keep her steady, “is anyone hurt?” she asks in a whispery voice.
When everyone confirms nothing major is hurt, just a few scrapes and bruises Kagome closes her eyes, “thank god.” Before she slumps forward.
Shippo cries out in shock and lunges forward feeling for a pulse which is weakly fluttering, “Mama! Mama!” he wails as tears stream down his face and he sobs brokenly, a vicious snarl sounds from outside causing the kits fur to puff up with fear.
He shakes violently as he looks up into the giant dogs eyes, its lip curled to show fangs dripping with poison. He growls menacingly at the kit and lowers his head to Kagome snuffling loudly before gripping her gently in-between his teeth and lifting her out of the torn apart hut. He swings his head around and lays her on the soft fur on his back where she sighs and curls up. He snarls viciously at the villagers when they run towards him screaming for Kagome.
“Stop! It is Sesshomaru!” Kaede yells holding hojo back when he tries to stab Sesshomaru with his sword.
Sesshomaru takes no more chances of being threatened, his mate is in need of him. He growls threateningly one last time before taking off into the woods, in search of the place he used to seek refuge in.

Kagome was in the softest cloud ever. She rubs her face into it while whimpering in pleasure at the silkiness of it against her exhausted body. A deep rumble vibrates her pillow getting louder the more she squirms so she creeps an eye open to see what it is, eyes widening as they land on the giant pale nose. Her eyes travel up the snout to big red and cyan blue eyes. The beast rumbles again and sniffs her gently and kagome squeals at the cold nose pushing him away.
“Stop it!” She says laughing when he pushes against her hand gently to try and sniff her again.
He huffs in annoyance and looks away from her his lips pursed slightly. ‘Oh my god… is he pouting?’ She presses a hand against her mouth to stifle a snicker. Kagome didn’t even need to ask who the giant dog was, she instinctively knew it was Sesshomaru. His ear twitches when he hears her muffling her laughter and huffs again glaring at the moon, his tail twitching irritably.
Kagome smirks and crawls up his back and tugs on the fur at the base of his neck, “Sesshomaru?” she calls out softly.
He turns around to glare at her when he feels the most heavenly feeling build up behind his ear and his foot begins bouncing up and down. Kagome grins wickedly and scratches harder behind his ear causing him to groan in pleasure.
“Aww, does the puppy like having his ear scratched?” kagome coo’s teasingly.
Sesshomaru groans lowly before snatching her up by her kimono and lowering her gently to the ground in front of him, giving kagome a moment to take in her surroundings. They are sitting in a moonlight bathed meadow with splashes of red flowers here and there and a small lake with a small waterfall. Kagome looks over when Sesshomaru begins to shift to his human form, and when he does shift completely her eyes widen in shock and her face and neck get drenched in red as her hands fly up to cover her eyes.
Sesshomaru is completely naked.
