"Miss Anaberu!" It was Himawari, bringing in hands a net full of fishes inside.
The Scottish lass impulsively lowered the pelt and uncovered her head, then she walked towards the girl and held her tight.
"You don't look well, why did you never send us any news?!" The girl's voice showed a mix of annoyance and concern.
"Himawari, my presence in the village turned into a great danger to everyone, if something happened to any of you for my sake, I would never forgive myself!" She sunk her face on her friend's shoulder. "But I'm so glad I could see you at least, for one last time!"
"We were all worried, Yoru speaks of you every day!" Himawari softly held Anna's head and raised it so they could resume to look at each other.
"I know, thank you so much! You don't need to feel worried anymore, I'll be alright now." The lass wiped the blue pools and arranged some coppery locks behind.
"Where are you going?" Yoru's sister beheld the ship next to them, the size of that wooden construction dazed the girl, even frightened her.
"Home..." Anna smiled tenderly. At last, the captain called for her, offering a hand from the edge of the ramp. "Please, tell Yoru and Motoko that I will never forget them, and that I love them very much, as I also love you." Her smile grew a bit, seeing the girl's cheeks blush. "I am certain that Yoru will become a powerful priestess one day!" As she spoke, Anna began to walk away from Himawari. The girl, who has come to sell fresh fishes on the fair next to the port, remained still, staring the foreigner climbing the caravel with an early feeling of missing.
Already on the ship, Annabelle clumsily ran to it's edge and leaned over the frame, waving an arm to Himawari, the girl repeated the gesture from below. Finally, the crew released the ropes tying the caravel to the land and pulled the anchor. Gradually, they started to leave the shore and got into open sea.
On the bow, trying to distract from her sorrows while feeling the fresh ocean scent, she heard some conversations between the men. Since Anna lived in the kingdom of Spain with her family for a time, she was fluent in Spanish and could recognize that those sailors' tongue was very similar. They were talking about places where the ship would need to stop by, then they mentioned the oceanic fury and shared words about legends, all conversations very familiar to Annabelle. She only felt nauseous on that occasion because of her condition, if she was in her usual health the waving sea wouldn't trouble her at all.
It was the first time in quite a while that the lass didn't travel disguised as a man, which made her wonder what Naraku has done to make those sailors treat her with such respect.
The captain took Anna to the cabin where she would rest. From outside, it was already possible to note how spacious the place should be, although they couldn't see inside, for red curtains made of velvet were covering all windows.
They're from kingdom of Portugal. Finally, Anna concluded the nationality of her journey's companions while swirling the golden handle of the door carved in noble wood. The captain left, respecting her privacy. So, the lass got in the chamber barely illuminated by some candles, dark even in the daylight. Someone was sitting on an elegant chair, on it's back to the entrance. Even in such a dim light, the long raven curls, loosened and spread by every sides were unmistakable.
"Naraku..." She muttered, her back hit against the wall, where her shaking hands sought for balance. A smile began to form, yet when the person turned around, any expectation faded subtly.
Albeit the black waving hair, the crimson eyes and the complexion's very similar features, it was a woman.
"You must be Annabelle." The deep, serene voice reverberated through every corner. She raised graciously, revealing her slender forms, wearing a lavender kimono with light-blue flowers embroidered all over the fabric, tied by an obi made of a darker shade of the same color, a tone that reminded Anna of the beginning of the night.
"Who are you?" Still startled by the impression of seconds ago, she gasped.
"My name is Kiseki, I am here to look after you." The demoness came closer and gently touched the foreigner's shoulders.
"Are you one of Naraku's incarnations?" Anna's eyes rolled as an intense vertigo subtly possessed her.
"You could say that I am." She took one of the lass' arm and put it around her neck, helping her to reach the bed and lay on there. "Rest, the trip will be long..."
XXX
Days and nights ran grueling, slow as unending cycles.
The foreigner, on her way to homeland, felt so feeble that she came to think life was a thread on the verge of breaking. She didn't fear for herself though, but for the offspring yet to be born. Everytime, Kiseki untiringly wrapped wet cloths all over Anna's body to lower the fever.
"It's too much for you to bear!" Stroking Annabelle's head, the creature almost identical to Naraku remarked with concern.
"No... don't you dare..." between sleepiness and lucidity, the White Rose pronounced herself. "No one will take my child from me!" Her hands contorted over her womb as she turned to the other side on the bed, shrinking for dread and pain, messing the blankets and sheets underneath. The lass confounded the demoness with Byakuya, as if she had come back to the night in Jinenji and his mother's house. "It's everything that I have, everything..."
"If you want them to survive, and if you want to live to see it, you must at least feed yourself correctly. Do you understand me?" She turned the ginger woman back, staring the blueness deep inside, those same ruby eyes.
"Why Naraku had to make you so similar to himself?" Anna covered her own face.
"Maybe so you could feel more acquainted. Who knows?" Kiseki responded calmly, then she got a silver tray filled with food and put it ahead of the future mother's sight. "Now eat." Although her gestures were gentle, her tone was demanding.
The foreigner strove immensely to seat, then she rested her back against the headboard and obligated herself to ingest half of the soup at the very least.
"This! Very good!" The yokai maid – or something alike – complimented the lass while staying there, by her side, all the time, in every daily activity.
Kiseki would help her to wash, to get dressed, to brush her hair, never leaving Annabelle alone. On one hand, it was rejoicing to have someone treating her so carefully, and being a yokai, it brought her a feeling of security, for no sailor would dare to defy Naraku's incarnation. Still, it was suffocating and despairing to look at a female mirror of the hanyo and remember she couldn't do anything to save him. Not even a chance to cry in secret Belle had, for a single gasp of hers was enough to make the servant get alarmed and stay unbearably close, like a shadow, always protecting her from the sea, from the solitude.
XXX
"Anaberu..." That way of calling her, that angelic timbre, oh, she knew it very well...
"Kagewaki!" The lass trembled, thinking she would never see him again, not after their encounter in the All Souls Night. Anna saw herself evolved by an endless whiteness, and the man shone in front of her, as peaceful as he used to be in life.
"It is over, I am free..." Hitomi closed his eyes and smiled serenely. "The Jewel of Four Souls is no more."
Her saliva went down like gall, the air felt scarce as if her lungs were full of water. The turquoise gaze lost it's gleam instantaneously, for a certainty grew within her core. Naraku is gone.
"A girl named Kagome has done the right wish, and now I can rest in peace." Almond pools unsealed slowly, his translucent hands hovered over hers, provoking a sudden chill.
"Kagome..." A single tear fell from the corner of her eye. "Now you can rest in peace? I thought I had liberated you that time..." The Young Master resumed to get her attention.
"My soul was locked inside that stone, along with a thousand of yokai and a priestess'. The intent of that pearl was to absorb that girl's spirit to itself. However, in the end, Kagome wished Shikon no Tama to disappear forever, and that was how the curse found it's demise." He tried to wipe his dearest betrothed's cheeks, yet his body was made of plasma and hers of matter, they belonged to distinct dimensions.
"All this time you were in there, so close and so far at the same time..." Annabelle sobbed, her chest throbbed as memories emerged from her depths. "One day, when I was ready to give up everything and almost drowned, I saw you. I believed I has found you in the Afterlife where we could finally be together. It wasn't really you, was it?" Her voice cracked, her limbs hardened and her breath oscillated along with her heartbeats, the grief in his eyes was an answer itself.
"It was a beautiful dream, my Anaberu... so beautiful that one day, when you mentioned it to me, I haven't found courage to say it was not me in there." Above all sadness pouring from his gaze, Kagewaki smiled even so. "Today, I am glad you have awakened from it and are alive. We were reconnected when Naraku inserted that shard inside of you. In that moment, my whole existence was already poisoned by the wickedness of that jewel, and then I did you so many wrongs..."
"It's in the past, my lord! It's all in the past now..." She managed to speak out loud, even though her heart and mind were still processing everything her ears captured. A dream? Her thoughts' creation? So she would never be able to find him from the start, they were never meant to be. Her love could be on other's hands now, and still it pained so much into her core...
Watching her complexion get paler, seeing her features darkening with sorrow, Kagewaki said: "I do not regret a thing, Anaberu. If I could live again, I would do it all the same, just to have a time to spend by your side, even knowing what would be of me in the end. Please, do not cry for me anymore, for Kagome released mine and every other souls, now we all are free from the evil spell." Oh, how sweet was his tone, the young lord surely was himself again.
"So this is how it ends..." lethargic, her eyes focused on nothing as her lips couldn't stop shivering. Anna had no courage to ask Kagewaki about Naraku, and didn't need to. That awful sensation devouring her from inside was far enough. The reason behind his bitterness after death was the horrendous place where his soul has been sent to it's final rest, of course, and she never even suspected of what has happened to him. What Belle knew though, was that the man she once loved were stuck into that hell because of the spider hanyo she cried for every day, and for whom her heart was beating fast in the present.
Silent, the passed son of a feudal lord closed the distance between them and rubbed his spectral fingers over her belly.
"One cycle ends, another begins." He looked at her sad, yet tenderly. "May you be very happy, my Anaberu." His semblance started to get clearer, to vanish as dust dissipating in the wind.
The red-haired woman raised her hands to him, on the level of their faces which traded nostalgic glimpses, his almost faded palms landed over hers for a brief second, and the couple was able to feel each other's warmth. A tenuous alabaster glow contoured their fingers and then Hitomi disappeared for once.
I will be looking after you, no matter where I am, the voice of her first love echoed into her mind. My Anaberu Rosu.

Lying down, Annabelle subtly opened her eyes and gasped.
"It is over." She sentenced. "It's all over!"
"What are you talking about?" Kiseki, who was napping on the chair beside the bed till now, just woke feeling confused.
"Naraku... he is..." Anna bit her lower lip, almost jumping when rapidly sitting on the bed. Nevertheless, she couldn't complete the phrase, an exasperate scream torn her throat instead, and the lass sunk her hands on her head, frightening the room's companion.
"Annabelle, what is it?!" The demoness fastly jumped on the bed and held the woman by the side, yet nothing changed. With eyes shut, the foreigner proceeded on screaming, taken by a pain with no beginning, intercourse, or end. Her body shook, fists punched the sheets while toes contorted, yet nothing could solace her spirit.
"Why didn't I tell him earlier?!" She collapsed on the other female's lap, making the demoness her confident. "If I had told him before, maybe everything could have been different!"
"If you have told him what?!" Afflicted, the yokai caressed the orange locks, moving them from Anna's agonizing face.
"That I love him! I should have told him on the day I protected him from Kaze no Kizu, or even before, I should have declared my love when we were sitting in front of the tree I made, instead of persisting on inquiring about his feelings for me!" Words came out wildly, cascading from her mouth in shivering shouts as regret poured from her turquoises. Her mind played tricks on her, confusing her memories of when she believed that feeling grew inside, for she felt like it has been carved within her core from the start, as a part of her very existence.
"Don't be such a fool, it would make no difference." Suddenly, Kiseki sounded severe. "Things happened the way they should have." At last, she sounded affectionate again, squeezing Annabelle into a comforting embrace.
"I know I could have saved him! If only I wasn't so absent... It pains so much!" She complained, the tremors though, has begun to fade.
Then, the caravel bluntly shook and the furniture inside the cabin moved a bit. Thunders' light crossed the curtains, enlightening the room and the sound of waters descending violently from the skies elucidated the yokai:
"It's a storm!" She left Annabelle on the bed and ran to a window, opening it wide. A wild tempest reflected on her dilated eyes and soaked her cheeks. "If it goes this way, the ship might sink!"
Anna, on her turn, touched her belly with both hands and shouted one more time. The caravel waved again and Kiseki fell on the floor, pale as the moon, filled with dread and suddenly looking weak.
"I don't feel it, I don't feel it anymore!" The lass squeezed her stomach in woe.
"Annabelle!" Panting, she called, her ruby pools rolled, as fighting against an odd urge to shut. "If you don't do something, we will sink!"
The woman didn't seem to listen, with eyes closed tightly, she just waved her body forward and backwards, whispering Gaelic words. Her fingers, covered in albescent lumen, were circling her venter. Eyes widened entirely whitish and a luminous sphere got inside of her. Kiseki, still frozen on the floor, observed in astonishment the lass' body revolve without falling from the bed even if the whole room was quacking. She saw the orange curls raise into the ceiling's direction. And finally, the pulsation returned into Annabelle's womb and the woman saw herself dominated by nauseous and dizziness. Sky-blue pools sealed, she smiled and sighed, hugging her own self.
"Annabelle!" Kiseki's breath seemed to return. Breaking the trance she has been into, the yokai got up in one movement and held one of the foreigner's arms. "Haven't you listened what I said?! If this ship sinks in here, how do you hope to reach your destination?"
"Alright!" She nearly lost the precious little life inside of her, now that it was safe, Anna needed to save the crew and the caravel itself. With Kiseki's help, she stood up and walked to the window's frame. Focused on the storm she entwined the coppery eyelids, opened her mouth, and with her waist being firmly evolved by the demoness, Belle stretched her arms ahead, pointing hands to the rays painting the daybreak's skies.
The whiteness illuminated the whole cabin and went to the dark clouds' direction, making them disperse. The wind, once coming from every sides, was directed correctly and also calmed down. Soon, the last remaining stars before the sun finish it's rising shone in the clear navy dome, and the waters' fury was put to sleep, revealing a serene wet mirror under the ship.
"You did it!" Kiseki celebrated, and Belle's response was her body falling into the demoness arms. As it has been so unexpected, Naraku's incarnation fell sitting on the floor, with the lass laying inside her embrace. Slender, delicate fingers supported the ginger head with care.
"Stand it... You must stand it, you must be strong." The black-haired beauty murmured, absorbed by the pale asleep figure. First she stroked locks of flaming hair, then she gently touched the woman's belly.

"What is this place?" Annabelle didn't recall she has been walking in a green hill with large rocks spread around. Right ahead, she could hear the sound of a river flowing. "It looks familiar though..." The lass touched her face pensively.
"Of course it is." The low, deep tone of voice was very unique. "It is your motherland."
Her feet froze where they were, blood got so hot into her veins that she felt burning inside, the heart fluttered briskly. The highlander turned cautiously around, and finally her eyes met his smiling ones. It was Naraku. Without a bony armor and a big eye on his front, not any tentacles hanging from his back either. He dressed as a noble warlord like in the old days, like he did when meeting her into a cave for one last deliverance.
Not wanting to think of how they got there, caring only about the fact he was with her, Annabelle ran to his encounter and squeezed him whole, from his cheeks to his shoulders, then the arms, ending on his chest.
"You came!" She held him, closing the content turquoises. Happiness overflowed from her core. Heavens, those hands entangling her hair seemed so real, and then the same fingers caressed her face, contoured her lips. He was so near...

Anna slowly opened her eyes, daylight didn't shine around them anymore. However, the yellowish luminescence of candles made those eyes look even redder. So serene, so affectionate and sad they were, like when they said goodbye. Dark curls fell around the Scottish lass like a nocturnal veil, their scent was the same. So, the woman evolved that neck, rested one hand on that nape and there was none resistance from the other part. Anna kissed those parted, humid lips, not as wildly as she used to. The lass linked them first, longing to enjoy the so well known flavour. It was equal. A tongue rubbed on hers, strangely timid though. She responded in the same rhythm, running her fingers through the velvet hair she adored so much. Since the other part wouldn't dare to deepen that kiss, Annabelle gave the necessary step. She pulled that head closer to hers and slowly sat, without parting their mouths, tongues still intertwined, rolling together. At last, face to face, when she decided to seal their bodies, Anna felt her breasts pressing against a soft, very similar rounded surface. It has been the moment she came back to reality and immediately stopped everything she was doing.
It wasn't Naraku, but Kiseki, and the demoness was panting, intoxicated with torpor.
The ginger lass jumped behind and ran hands over her own face and lips. Though the feeling of embarrassment was huge, her cheeks got pale instead of blushing. Her eyes couldn't blink.
"Pardon me, I..." Still dazed, like she was uncertain if that really happened, Anna crawled back, moving the most far she could. "You and he are... identical." The lass massaged the forehead under the coppery fangs, with lowered head.
"Easy now..." The yokai said, although she still felt shaken. "It is natural you feel confused." She calmly lifted and walked to the eastern woman, offering her a hand.
Annabelle barely seemed to notice the kind gesture, her gaze looked opaque, lost in nowhere. She was paralyzed.
"Let me help you..." The maid insisted friendly.
"I dreamed of him," she told, ignoring Kiseki's proposal. "I dreamed we were together in Scotland, walking through the emerald meadows, like two ordinary people..." Her eyes persisted on looking distant.
"It sounds nice." Kiseki sighed and, although not receiving a proper response from the human, she raised her by the arms even so.
"He will never be able to meet peace and simplicity, he will never know the bright side of life." Anna's eyes dewed one more time and an amount of lamentations would come out her mouth, so Kiseki put herself at the lass' back, held her shoulders and guided her to walk towards the open window, the red curtains were waving softly in front of the landscape.
"Look, the storm is gone." Naraku's incarnation moved the curtains away, revealing the clear sky above, being reflected on the serene bluish ocean below. Golden rays of sun shone into the pair of clear melancholy globes and into the depths of such celestial blue they twinkled. "You made a miracle happen." The demoness said, arranging Annabelle's locks behind. "Do not lose hope, you still have so much to do in this world..."
"How did you know I was capable of stopping the storm?" Studying the outer landscape, she asked in a low tone.
"If my purpose is to take care of you, it is primordial that I entirely know you." A light, small smile curved her lips, while Kiseki was cherishing the sunny sky and the marine breeze beside the highlander lass.
Annabelle presumed that Naraku has told everything to the yokai, or he might have inserted any sort of memories within her while molding her body. Even in that he has thought and planned so well – a way of protecting her and not leaving her alone.
To be continued...

Hello, dear readers!! Hope you have enjoyed Kiseki! I thought if I should write a warning at the beginning of the chapter (because of the kiss scene), but then I reconsidered. Firstly because love is love, and there was no further adult interaction, just a kiss. Secondly because any warning would spoil everything, and I'm that kind of person that truly hate spoilers, I think it's a sin to deprive readers from the stories' surprises. So, this is it. ;)
Oh, and about the Portuguese crew and captain, when I wrote this fic I didn't know that Portugal has begun to interact with Japan only in the next century, on Edo period. At least it's the time when we can find the first registers of Portuguese ships coming to japanese shores. Inuyasha series happens on Sengoku period, time of civil wars, when the country was still divided. But, well, let's just use our imagination and think that Naraku found a way to make Byakuya contact the people of this ship. They are supernatural beings who flies very fast after all, right? Both could fly around the whole world if they wanted so, Naraku could even land here in Brazil, get some coffee and cocoa, sell it in Japan and become richer. :')
I hope you have enjoyed the chapter anyway, the next one will be a bit shorter, and even more exciting in my opinion.
See ya soon, kissus!
