A/N: Kouga is out of character in this story so be warned! I do not own Inuyasha, but I do own my character Nikah. Enjoy the story and please read and review!
Chapter1: Kouga’s Weakening Pack
The young wolf prince’s dark blue eyes skimmed over his weary warriors. He had lost many comrades in their most recent battles. Kouga’s loyal servant Ginta placed a handthe the prince’s shoulder gently. “Prince Kouga, our pack is quickly deteriorating from our recent hard fought battles.” “I know that Ginta!” “My prince you must please consider taking a mate.”
Kouga growled a bit unhappy with where the conversation was headed. “I have already chosen a mate Ginta, I have chosen Kagome.” Ginta lowered his head before continuing. “Prince Kouga, sister Kagome has clearly chosen Inuyasha as her desired mate. She does not seem to want to mate with you.” Kouga snarled in response to Ginta’s statement.
“Don’t you think I realize that Kagome loves that useless half breed dog?” “My prince, you cannot afford to wait for sister Kagome to come around. The welfare of the pack depends on you taking a mate and your union producing an heir.” Kouga sighed heavily knowing that Ginta’s words were true. “Yes Ginta I know that I must take a mate soon. Sadly as it seems, my mate will not be Kagome. I have decided that I must venture out to select my future mate.”
“Are you going alone Prince Kouga?” “Yes Ginta, I have to do this on my own. I will take a mate either willingly or by force, whatever it may come down to.” Ginta nodded as he followed Kouga to the ledge of the cliff overlooking their mountainside territory. “Are you leaving now Prince Kouga?” “Yes I must leave right away. You are in charge while I’m goneta.”ta.” “Of course Prince Kouga. Have a safe journey.” “I will. Take care of the pack while I’m away.”
Ginta nodded and watched as Kouga headed down the side of the steep cliff. Kouga traveled along side the Eastern river as he headed towards Inuyasha’s Forest. He would have to take a mate quickly so that she could give him a child right away. Kouga did not particularly want to take a human mate but now he did not really have much of a choice. His pack was weakening more and more every time they lost a family member.
The wolf prince increased his speed greatly as he crossed the open plains near the edge of Inuyasha’s Forest. Kouga grinned to himself when he saw the thick green canopy of the treetops towering above him. He sprinted into the forest and headed towards the nearest village. Kouga searched all of the surrounding villages for a suitable human mate. He first came upon the village of Mitan.
Kouga bounded into the village and began forcing his way into homes. “I want to see all of your young maidens!” Once the frightened villagers had gathered all of their unwed maidens Kouga looked them over. They were all too common and plain. ‘None of these simple village maidens shall do for my mate.’
“You may go on about your lives. What I seek I have not found here.” Then as quickly as he had came he left in a huge swirling funneoud.oud. After raiding a few more villages unsuccessfully Kouga began to grow agitated. He stumbled upon a small village he had not known existed. Kouga asked a small boy. “Excuse me boy, what is the name of this village?” “Kan.” “Can you tell me if there are any beautiful young maidens here in Kan?”
“Most of the maidens here are already wed but there is a beautiful unwed priestess.” Kouga smiled. “Where is this priestess you speak of boy?” “She is down by the lake gathering herbs.” “Thank you.” The small boy nodded and watched as Kouga headed towards the lake. Kouga crept silently up to the lake and peered out from behind some bushes. He could see a tiny dark haired woman.
She was dressed in pure white priestess robes with a deep blue obi holding her robes shut. The woman had milky alabaster skin that seemed to shimmer in the soft sunlight. She glanced toward his direction and he caught sight of her angelic face. She had soft cinnamon brown eyes with long and thick black eyelashes framing them. Her lips were a soft pinkish color and very full. Kouga smiled to himself as his eyes skimmed over the rest of her body. ‘She’s the one. This woman shall do quite nicely as my mate.’
