The Shark Maiden

Ayame could not believe
what she saw. The two young males was definitive out on dangerous waters. �No
doubt that they have made a stupid bet with their stupid friends and surf on
these waves.� she thought bitterly. She sat on a cliff under the water, next
to her swam a pair of sharks. They swam up and Ayame reached down her hand and
patted their sand paper like skin. She could feel their anticipation.

Not today my loves, not today, they are not food for you, she
said with a smile.
She turned her jade green
eyes back to the two males and their testosterone stupidity. Suddenly she felt
it, The Wave. She cursed and dove into the water. �They will never survive
unless I do something about it.� she thought and swam gracefully under the
water. Soon she was accompanied by four nurse sharks. She mentally communicated
with them, telling them to help her save the humans if it was called for and she
got a positive response.
The power in the water
grew stronger and she grabbed hold of two fins of the two leading nurse sharks
and motioned them to swim faster.

Inuyasha made a whooing
sound as he rode the waves next to his friend Kouga. They had heard of the waves
here and they wanted to check them out and now they could tell that the rumours
were true. The waves were fantastic. He heard Kouga make a similar sound because
of the adrenaline rush they experienced. They looked at each other, golden eyes
met icy blue and they laughed out loud. Yeah, this was the real life.

Ayame knew it was only
matter of seconds now. She summoned more sharks and they came to her and she
motioned them to knock off the males from their boards and pull them into the
shore. The sharks sent a mental confirmation of her words and they swam towards
the boards.

Kouga saw the dark
shadows that began circulating underneath his surfing board and a cold hand
grasped his heart. That was no ordinary big fishes, that was sharks.

INUYASHA!!
he shouted over the raging waves.

Yeah?

-

We should head back to shore, these waters are shark
infested!!

-
WHAT?!!
Kouga was cut short when
a force from under the water pushed up and tipped him over. He landed in the
water with a loud splash. His mind was filled with fear as he saw Inuyasha get
knocked over as well. �Shit, we should have listened to the warnings about
this place.� He thought as he saw the dark shadows close in on him.
Inuyasha was in the same
poor shape. But when he tried to swim closer to Kouga he saw something in the
water that made him forget his fear for a few seconds. There in the blue green
waters, a few feet under the waves, swam another person. A very naked person
with long dark hair. He was not sure what colour it was, but he sure could see
that it was a woman. �A mermaid??� was his first thought, but then he
shook his head. She had legs. Then the fear returned, but this time he feared
for her life, the sharks swam around her. �Can she not see them? FUCK!!�
he cursed and dove to get to the woman but when he tried to get her attention
one enormous wave washed over him and he found himself to be violent trashing
around in the water.
Kouga was in the same
situation, he had seen the female as well and was about to come to her rescue
when the wave hit them. He could not tell what scared him the most, the violent
sea or the fact that he felt rough sharkskin against his body. But he lost
consciousness and he did not feel anything else.
Inuyasha suffered the
same fate, something knocked him out and his lifeless body was carried onto the
shore by nurse sharks.

Ayame thanked her
friends for their help with a back rub. She knew all the places where they liked
to be rubbed. �I see you soon my friends, I just want to make sure that they
are not injured.� She mentally told them and then she smiled. The sharks
swam out to the sea, leaving Ayame on the shore with the two males. She looked
at them and she felt her stomach flutter. They were very nice looking and they
were not ordinary humans, she could tell. Their auras felt different from those
around humans. She put her hands on their chest and felt their heart beats.
�Good, now all you have to do is wake up and I can get going.� she thought
and settled down between them. Meanwhile she studied their looks. The boy on her
right side had long white hair, braided into one thick braid. He covered the top
of his head with a scarf, tied up pirate-style. The other one, the boy on her
left had black hair, tied in a low pony tail. Both were very well built and she
felt her stomach do flips once again. �What the hell is wrong with me?�
she asked as she looked up to the clear blue sky. She knew that in a few hours
the darkness would be upon them and she wanted them to wake up before the day
turned into evening.
Ayame moved her knees up
so she could rest her arms and head on those, watching the violent waves work
into the rocky shore, carving its way into the land like it always had. It was
hypnotizing and soon her eyes dropped and she fell into a light sleep.

Kouga was the first of
the two friends to wake up. He groaned as he rubbed the back of his head. It
felt like something had hit him pretty hard and he could feel a bump. �What
the hell happened??? INUYASHA!!� he shot up and saw his friend lie
next to him. He took a deep breath and scooted over, trying to wake him up.

Hey Inu-kun, wake up, he said and slapped him light on the
cheek.

Stop it, murmured Inuyasha and his eyelids fluttered a bit
before he opened his eyes.

Are you ok? asked Kouga.

-

Yeah, but it feels like my head have been crushed, groaned
Inuyasha. � You? Are you ok?

-

Yeah, I am fine, I am feeling the same thing. What the hell
happened?

-

I have no idea. One moment I am having the best time of my
life, the next moment I see a girl under the water.

You saw her too??!!

-

Yeah, and there were a lot of sharks swimming around her but
she did not seem to notice them..

So you were going to rescue her? snickered Kouga. � I thought
the same thing. But when I tried to get to her I was knocked out and then I woke
up here.

-

I don�t think we were washed up on the shore, if we were we
ought to have a lot of wounds, those rocks would have scraped us up pretty good,
said Inuyasha and pointed towards the shore line.

Ok, I agree to that, but how did we get up here then? Did we
accidentally produced wings and flew?

Get serious, it was the girl of course, said Inuyasha with a
snort.

Who was she?

-

How the hell should I know?

But I
agree with you, and I could bet my butt that she has been here as well �
LOOK!!
Inuyasha followed Kouga�s
pointing and saw the place where someone had been sitting in the sand, someone
that was naked. So she was not a figment of their imagination. But what the hell
was she?

-

Come let us follow her tracks, said Kouga and got up on his
feet.

-

What�s the idea, the tracks lead back to the ocean dimwit.
How would we be able to track her down if she is in the ocean?

-

Let�s search the shore line, perhaps she went up the shore
somewhere else?
Inuyasha looked like he
was thinking. Kouga�s idea was not possible and he nodded and got up on his feet
as well. The wolf had his bright moments from time to time. They began walking
up the coast line, their eyes searching for anything that could give them a bit
more flesh on the Shark Maiden�s identity.
