My friend Zelix wants to see a Souta/Rin-story and
here comes the first part.

The second part will probably take some time before it's posted - I am going
crystal hunting again... *yipppeee*

Rin�s adventure

* Prologue *

The old one-eyed miko hold the horse
back when she saw the royal demon in front of her. With a small grunt she
stepped down and fell to the ground in humble position.

-
Sesshoumaru-sama�.

-
Yes human? He said with a emotionless voice.

-
I don�t know if you remember me, but we have met a few times in the past,
said Kaede without looking at him.

-
I remember you miko, what do you want?

-
I have a request regarding your young ward Rin, said Kaede.
Sesshoumaru was surprised, but as usual
not a trace of it could be seen in his face. He arched an eyebrow, urging the
old woman to continue.

-
After the battle against Naraku the gods of fate gave me special kind of
gift, but I am afraid that I will not live long enough to use it properly. I am
an old woman, but the gift of foresight has caused me many sleepless nights.
They will not give me a proper night sleep unless I do something about it.

-
What have you seen miko? asked Sesshoumaru, he respected the miko, she
was very skilled and her wisdom was great. Not that he would tell anyone about
it.

-
The young woman named Kagome came from another place, you know about
this?

-
Yes, I also know that she came through a magic well.

-
Good, you know. Well, I have seen trouble brewing on the other side of
that well. But Kagome can no longer pass through the well, I suspect it is
because she is mated to Inuyasha, and she is expecting their first born child,
so even if she could get through I would never ask this of her.
Sesshoumaru growled, wanting her to get
to the point.

-
I want you to train Rin in combat, with swords, spears, bow and arrow,
anything that could make her stronger, and I want to teach her the way of the
miko.

-
Why?

-
Because I will send her through the well to fight against the evil that
has been born in the future. This is something the gods of fate demands of me
and I must heed their commands. But I am too old and the only one with a strong
spirit could accomplish such a task. And that someone is Rin, said Kaede and
rose her eyes to meet his amber gaze.

-
Why should I let you do it? She is my pup.

-
Because the fate of the world is at stake here.
Sesshomaru growled again, he did not
like this at all. He would never admit it, but what the old miko now told him
made his immortal soul tremble with fear. And just the thought of sending his
young pup into this evil, he killed the shiver before it coursed through his
body.

-
Is there not another way around this miko? asked Sesshoumaru with low
voice and Kaede�s heart melted, she understood his hesitation.

-
I am afraid not Sesshoumaru-sama, Rin is our only hope. I know that she
is ten years old, and her training should have begun years ago, but if we begin
now she should be able to finish most of it before she turns eighteen. But we
must do it in secret, I don�t think Kagome-san would like it if she knew, I am
sure that she would object to it and I don�t want to make her feel guilty about
mating with Inuyasha.

-
I understand. Then we will do this in secret. You will have to come to
the castle with me if we are going to do this.
Kaede nodded, she would have to make up
an excuse. �I could visit my cousin or something�� Yes, that would do
just nicely as a white lie. She was a bit surprised that it had gone so well
with the lord, but then again, he was quite powerful; perhaps he could feel the
disturbance as well. What ever it was she was not going to question it. They
parted with a respectful nod at each other.

Kaede felt awful when she looked back at
the village that had been her home for over sixty years. And she felt even more
awful when she had lied to her young friends. The people she saw as family.
�It is for the greater good Kaede, this is for the people of the future.�
She turned the horse around and began the journey towards the western lands and
Sesshoumaru.
