Naraku's Devious Plan
By: Time Keeper Chapter 1: Feelings Revealed
It was a usual day in the warring states era. Inuyasha and Miroku were leading the way. Kagome was pedaling her bicycle with the young fox demon Shippo riding in the basket following behind them. Sango with Kilala on her shoulder was last. They came into a break in the forest, a beautiful field surrounded by trees, with a river quietly running through it. "Inuyasha" Kagome calls out.
"What is it this time Kagome?" he asks.
"Why don't we take a break from searching for the jewel shards for a day?" she asks, "We could spend the day in the field."
"She does have a point, Inuyasha."Miroku says, "We have been traveling for quite awhile without a break."
"What about Naraku?" Inuyasha asks.
"We can forget about him for one day." Kagome says.
"Don't we get enough rest when you go back to your time Kagome?" Inuyasha asks.
"I was just hoping to spend a relaxing day in this time, with you guys." Kagome says.
"Come on, Inuyasha." Shippo says.
"It would be good for us all to take a break from this entire situation." Sango adds.
"Fine, we'll stop here for the day." Inuyasha says.
"Thank you." Kagome says as she parks her bike near by then flops into a patch of wildflowers.
"PERVERT!" Sango yells at Miroku as she smacks him across the face yet again. The sound causes Kagome to jump up only to see Miroku with an almost too familiar mark on his face.
"Miroku, you really need to learn to keep your hands to yourself." Kagome says. Later that night as the sun begins to set, Kagome watches Inuyasha head toward the river. "Where you going, Inuyasha?"
To the river for a swim, you want to join me?" he asks as he continues walking.
'Did he just invite me along?' Kagome asked herself then decided to get up and follow him. Leaving her bag with her bike, Shippo had fallen asleep in the basket. Kagome reaches the bank of the river and the sun has nearly set she sees Inuyasha's fire rat clothing neatly in a pile. She looks over the water and sees him naked in the water. "Inuyasha, I thought you were swimming not taking a bath" Inuyasha looks at her
"I am swimming, I just didn't want to get my clothes wet"
"Then you shouldn't have invited me to join you"
"Why not?"
"Cause it's not right for me to see you naked"
"It's only fair, I've seen you naked accidentally enough times"
'Is he apologizing?' Kagome thought "So you wanted me to join so you'd see me naked willingly?"
"I thought you had a, what did you call it? Swimming suit?"
"I do, in my bag, with my bike"
"And you didn't bring it with you to the river? Almost sounds like you wanted to get naked"
Kagome gasps in surprise, Inuyasha was right, she knew her bathing suit was in her bag, yet she went straight for Inuyasha. "Inuyasha, you're acting awfully strange today, did I miss something?"
"What you mean?"
"I mean first you actually agree to stop for the day without too much argument. Then you invite me to go swimming with you. What's the deal?" At that moment one Kikyo's soul collectors flies by Kagome and she winces knowing Inuyasha is going to run off after Kikyo. The soul collector flies by Inuyasha trying to entice him to follow
"You want me to follow huh?" Inuyasha smiled as Kagome went to run away. "Iron Reaver Soul Stealer!" He slashed at the soul collector, but it remained. "Huh?"
Kagome heard this and turned to Inuyasha "Inuyasha?"
Inuyasha looked puzzled at why he hadn't destroyed the the soul collector and looks at his hands. Then he looks up. "Fuck!"
Kagome notices that he had forgotten that tonight was the new moon. "Get out of the water before you get sick, you're human again"
Inuyasha nods and looks at the soul collector "Leave me alone Kikyo, I'm done with you." Kagome gasps in surprise as Inuyasha just gets out of the water and shakes himself off like a dog. Then puts his pants on and goes to Kagome. "Kagome, I've realized something. I don't love Kikyo, I never really did I guess. I was just looking for someone to hold onto and she gave me that, but she wanted me to change who I was. She wanted me to be human to be with her"
"Inuyasha" Kagome says sadly
"Please let me finish, cause I don't know if I would be able to this his any other time."
"You mean cause you're human right now?"
"Right, when I'm human it feels ok to let my feelings go. I'm I'm going to just have it out. Kagome, I..." he paused nervously. "I love you" There he said it, he felt better immediately.
Kagome was in total shock over him saying that "Do you mean it, Inuyasha?"
"Of course I do, I wouldn't say it if I didn't"
"Oh, Inuyasha" Kagome says and hugs him tight. "I love you too"
"I hate to interrupt this precious moment, but I've come to kill Inuyasha" an all too familiar voice says
