The Journey Within

The chapters have been adjusted, some have been merged, some just tweaked, and some have been totally removed. Please read this story again, as some things may be different. thankx
(a/n): I did not like where my characters were headed, so I tweaked the story a wee little bit to get the result I wanted. The story still remains basically the same I removed and added a fewthings here and there and made the characters more like themselves. I hope you enjoy, please tell me what you think, any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Summary: Inuyasha has had a tough past, but his present has proved to be even tougher. Can he learn to cope with these novelties or will he collapse under the presure?

Chapter one

I don't know what it is about that girl, at first I thought it was because she reminded me so much of Kikyo from her appearance, but they are so different. Kagome would over power Kikyo if she had a little training, she is already strong for her inexperience and such a downright bitch sometimes too. She is definitely going to be stronger than Kikyo could have ever imagined herself to be. But, that still is not the reason why I care so for her, I just can't seem to figure it out. I thought I loved Kikyo and then she turned on me, if she truly loved me she wouldn't have let such a snake turn her against me. Then again, she never made me feel this way. I feel like I can fly, but at the ame time like I could string her up a tree. Heh, maybe I love Kagome? No, I know that I love Kagome, but I just can't seem to show it. Inuyasha rested his body, but not his mind as he bathed in the hot spring; he just couldn't seem to get the events of a couple of weeks ago off his mind. Then again, maybe I do show it? Everyone seems to tell me that I jump between Kagome and Kikyo, but the truth is I don't. Yeah, whenever Kikyo is around I am always sniffing her out, but that's just to see why she's around and what she knows about Naraku. If it wasn't for that I don't think that I would try to sniff her out.. I had fifty years on a tree to get over my loving that woman, and nothing has changed in the two and a half that I've traveled with Kagome except that I've grown more attached to that stubborn wench.... my stubborn wench. "Eh... thinking isn't going to get you anywhere but in a hole, Inuyasha." He cracked a smile at his thoughts all the same as he laid back against the bank to enjoy his soak. His bones were aching from the sitting Kagome had given him only a few hours earlier.
Kagome sat absently stroking Shippo's head as she stared off into space thinking. I wonder what he's doing! He's been in that spring for over an hour.. it's NOT like him to even want to be clean, let alone bathe for over an hour unless he's being drowned! Hmm.. what could it hurt if I just went to check on him? After all I did yell at him. Ignoring her common sense, Kagome went to check, or rather spy, on her hanyou friend while she recalled the events from earlier.
"Inuyasha, yo-you are such a snarling, overpompous, drooling baboon of a, a mutt. Sit. Sit. Sit. Sit. SIT!" Kagome yelled at the top of her lungs, shaking her fists as she sat inuyasha into the next continent. "How dare you, you ugh!" Kagome could find no more words to convey her anger so she simply huffed as she stormed away, leaving the group shaking their heads at the Inuyasha they knew would never learn.
Kagome noiselessly worked her way through the woods, to the hidden spring, Inuyasha had sniffed out just so he could... soak? Being as careful as she could, she made her way to a nearby lookout point over Inuyasha's relaxing form. God, he is so .... well HOT! Heh, get a hold of yourself Kagome! It's not like I can have a relationship with him, he still loves Kikyo, but a girl can dream, can't she? Besides, I won't be eighteen for another two weeks and I will be free to date seriously. Dammit Kagome!!! I wonder what he's thinking about. She watched carefully the entire time he bathed, taking in every forbidden sight. She knew that she shouldn't have looked, but she just couldn't turn away especially when he rose to exit the water. He left nothing to the imagination as he stretched, tensing every muscle. His rising up from the water was like watching mouthwatering dew drip from a forbidden fruit. Kagome wanted to touch every inch of him, but she nearly fell to the floor when he rose completely. Kagome had never seen a penis, especially not one THAT big. She and Sango had talked about demons and mating, but when she said they made great lovers because they were so blessed, she had no idea.
"WENCH?!?" Inuyasha covered as much as he could with his kimono. "What are you doing here?"
"Um. I. I come to check on you. you never bathe that long, I was worried." She knew she was red, she could feel the blush on her face just as much as she could see it on Inuyasha's. She came out of the tree line just barely, hanging her head in embarrassment. "I'm sorry Inuyasha, I didn't mean to see...um.. you."
Mmmm... those lips, I just want to taste them again, it seems like it�s been so long since she prevented me form turning into a full demon with a kiss. I don't care if I get sat into next year, I just HAVE to. Without another hesitation Inuyasha was flush against Kagome, holding her tight against his nude body. "Kagome, please, don't sit me yet, please?" He placed a finger over her sit-ready mouth before she could fire, he just had to kiss her, even if he had to beg. She just stared and nodded slightly before his finger was replaced by his lush lips. Mine. The kiss was passionate, full of pent up emotions and desires. Kagome melted into his touch and he succumbed to her sweet irresistibleness.

Kagome was speechless, he had just kissed her, not the other way around, and he had said please. What was going on? "Inuyasha?" She had opened her eyes expecting to find the man that had just kissed her, but instead was met witht he sight of a steaming spring and lush green trees. "What just happened?"
