This is a request made by Adam.
The main pairing will be Inuyasha and Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the
Shell.
I do not own Inuyasha or Ghost in the shell, nor am I making any profit from writing this fic.
Now you must remember, it has been a very long time since I saw Ghost in the
Shell and I probably have Major Kusanagi all wrong... but hey... you can enjoy
the story anyway?

Inuyasha knew that something was wrong
the moment he climbed out of the well. He had argued with Kagome as usual and
now he was being forced by the others to go to her time to apologize so she
would come back to them. But as he came over the edge of the well he knew that
something was wrong. The old well house was far more battered than it had been
before. For a moment he felt fear and he crashed through the already broken
doors. The house and the shrine looked like it had been through a war. It was
not the same as it used to be. He went inside the house but it was empty. The
smell of humans was not around. “What the fuck is going on?” he thought
as he searched around the shrine compound. He was happy that the old God Tree
was still standing and he jumped up to sit on his favourite branch to look over
the world he had entered. His brain tried to come up with some explanations and
the only thing that seemed reasonable was that he had traveled further into the
future. This was no longer Kagome’s time; this was a few more decades further
ahead of her time. He sighed and decided to jump into the well again.
It was then something out of a nightmare
happened. The well didn’t let him trough. He was stuck in this strange era. He
howled in despair as he realized it. His claws dug into the earth at the bottom
of the well. “Why wont you let me through?” he mentally cried as he felt
tears sting his face. He spent an hour trying to get through the time portal but
it was of no use. He was stuck and that was the end of that. He growled and
punched a hole into the wall of the well before he jumped out of it. He had to
try and find out which fucking year this was and if he could find Kagome in this
one.
He rummaged through the house and found
a baseball cap that had been thrown underneath a battered drawer. He brushed off
the dust and put it over his head, remembering how Kagome always nagged him
about not showing his ears. He nodded to himself as he walked out of the house.
He looked at the sky and knew it was almost time for the dusk to settle over the
town. He sighed a bit and jumped down the stairs of the shrine and he began to
search for those places Kagome had taken him from time to time. First he tried
to find the grocery shop where she had bought the ramen. He still remembered how
he carried boxes of the stuff back to the shrine. It was the same day they saw
young Souta outside a flower-shop. Inuyasha smiled at the memory. He really
liked that kid. He wondered if the brat still hung around that girl he liked.
Perhaps they were mated too? He knew that Kagome had feelings for him, but he
couldn’t respond to them. He saw her as his best friend, but he could not love
her the way she loved him. She knew this and accepted it. He was glad for that.
He could still take her hand every now and then and knowing she would not see it
as a sign of love. Just a sign of a deep friendship.
The shop was not there anymore, not a
grocery shop anyway. It looked more like a bar or something. He looked around
and saw a paper stand not far from where he was and he walked over there. He
looked at the paper and with some difficulty he managed to understand. And as he
had suspected, he was no longer in Kagome’s era. This was far into the future.
2029, read the paper. Almost thirty years into the future. Inuyasha’s mind began
to work; this would mean that Kagome should be around forty years old. Her
mother and grandfather were probably already dead by now. Souta would be a few
years younger than Kagome. Could he find them? Since they didn’t live in the
shrine anymore, they had to be living somewhere else. But they could be
anywhere, hell; they could even live in another village. He groaned as his mind
began to falter.
Then all of a sudden everybody seemed to
be in a hurry, shops closed down and people quickly disappeared from the
streets. “What the hell is going on?” he thought as he took the moment to
jump onto a roof so he would have better view of things. And as soon as the
streets were cleared an eerie silence entered the stage. Inuyasha sniffed the
air but couldn’t detect anything unusual. Instead he began to search for the
school where Kagome had gone to… the place where she had all those tests that
seem to nag her all the time.
The building looked the same but as he
looked through one of the windows he knew that it was not a school anymore. He
had been there a couple of times and it never looked like this. Inuyasha didn’t
have to use much force to open one of the locked windows and he crawled inside
to look more closely at things. There were these boxes he had seen inside
Souta’s room. The young lad had called it komputore… or something like that. He
silently walked through the room and opened the door to the hallway. But what he
didn’t know was that when he opened the window he had set off a silent alarm.
~~~~~~••○••~~~~~~
Major Motoko Kusanagi was called in when
the alarm in the educational facility (EDF) went off. She was going in to see
who it was and apprehend the intruder. She nodded and switched on her
camouflage, she was practically invisible now.
She was a cyborg with a human brain. She
had worked for Section 9 for several years now and still she had trouble of
deciding what she was. But right now her philosophical thoughts were put aside.
She had a mission.
It didn’t take her long to reach the
EDF, no lights were turned on, nor could she sense the ordinary human aura. She
scanned the house and found one person lingering in the hallways. She found the
window the intruder had used to get inside. She inspected it and was surprised
to see the armoured glass had been ripped from its hinges. No human had that
much strength, not even with a crowbar. She went inside, blending in with her
surroundings. She looked out the door and saw a person with long white hair and
red clothing stand there in the hallway. His backside told her some but not
everything. He was confused that much was clear to her. But as she came out of
the room and stood just a few metres away from him, he turned around.
Motoko saw him sniff the air and his
hand went to a sword he had. He drew it and she was amazed to see it transform
from a rusty form into a giant white blade. His eyes had an unusual colour, just
like his hair did. And he was not like any human she had met before. He sniffed
the air again and suddenly she had the tip of the sword poking against her
chest.
-
Show your self demon! the white haired boy practically snarled at her.
She didn’t, instead she took a few steps
to her right, but he was following her with the sword. His nose was guiding him.
Suddenly the sword changed colour, from being bone white to be blood red. She
saw the smirk on his face as he was looking straight at her. She had no other
choice than to become visible.
Inuyasha had felt and smelled the
presence of another being as he stood there in the hallway. He had let his nose
guide him as he drew his sword. He had demanded the demon to show itself and now
he could see the contours of a female being come to life in front of him. She
was dressed in a form fitting uniform, not so much unlike Sango’s slayer suit.
The eyes that looked at him had a blue grey colour, but what struck him as odd
was her smell. She was a woman, that much he could tell by the forms that was
underneath her uniform, but human? No, she had no human scent at all. She did
smell clean and she had some of that shampoo scent that he knew from before.
Kagome always used it and Sango did too from time to time. But human she was
not.
-
Who are you? he asked as he raised his sword to her throat.
-
My name is Motoko Kusanagi, Major Kusanagi, she said.
-
Are you a demon?
-
Demon?
She was confused; did he really think
that there existed things like demons? But she didn’t want to get beheaded so
she shook her head.
-
If you are not a demon, then what the fuck are you?
-
Why should I tell you? You are the one who is intruding on this EDF, you
should be telling me who you are! she said defiantly.
-
I’m Inuyasha, and my friend used to go to school here long ago… Or so I
think, said Inuyasha and got a thoughtful look in his golden eyes.
-
This has been one of our facilities for over twenty years, said Motoko
and saw the expressions in his eyes turn from thoughtful to something she only
could name as sorrow.
Inuyasha growled as he heard this. He
removed the sword tip from her throat and let it change back to its rusty form
before putting into the scabbard. This female, non human as she was, was no
threat to him. He could feel the despair course through him again. Gods, he
hated this place. He wanted to go home, he missed his friends, he missed Kagome
and heck, he even missed that nagging runt Shippou.
-
Inuyasha, who was your friend? asked Motoko as she saw the desperate look
on his face.
-
Her name was Kagome Higurashi, she had a brother too. Souta Higurashi,
said Inuyasha before he could stop himself.
He saw the odd female in front of him
roll her eyes into her head, literary and that made his skin crawl. No human
that was for sure.
Motoko searched her database for the
names he had given her but she came up with nothing. She looked apoplectic and
told him that there was no such names.
-
Ehh?
-
You thought I was a demon, meaning you know that I am not human, am I
correct? asked Motoko.
Inuyasha nodded, still confused.
-
I am not a human, not much of me anyway. I have access to a lot of
information, stored in a place far away from here. I am a cyborg, meaning, my
brain is human but my body is not.
-
Huh?
-
Hard to explain, but I suggest that we should get out of here. Now I know
that you are not a threat to the facility. Do you have anywhere to stay…
Inuyasha?
Inuyasha couldn’t help but shudder a bit
when she said his name.
-
The Higurashi Shrine, said Inuyasha.
-
Hmm, perhaps… why don’t you come with me? Perhaps we could work things
out for you? she said and smiled.
Inuyasha nodded, she did not oppose any
threat and he had no other choice. They walked out of the building, he heard her
talk to someone, telling them that the threat was cleared and the person was
long gone before she got there to the facility.
Inuyasha followed the odd female through
the windling streets and then she stopped. She opened a door with an odd key and
invited him inside. He sat down on one of the chairs in the kitchen.
-
Are you hungry Inuyasha? she asked without looking at him.
-
Do you have ramen? he asked.
She nodded and made him some ramen. She
didn’t require food, but she could eat and enjoy it. And instant ramen was
always a part of her stock. She looked at him and couldn’t help but feel sorry
for the guy. He looked so lost and confused.
Inuyasha remembered what Mrs. Higurashi
had told him, no hats at the table and he put the cap away, revealing his
hanyou-ears. They twitched a bit after have been caught under the cap for so
long. He saw that she looked at him and he growled. Another mistake… but now he
couldn’t care less.
-
My guess is that you are not very human either, she said as her eyes
moved to look into his.
-
Hanyou, said Inuyasha and saw her eyes widened. “Keh, like I would
care what she thought anyway?”
-
Half demon?
-
Yeah… what of it wench? he growled and curled his upper lip a bit.
-
But demons do not exist, said Motoko confused but her eyes moved to look
at his unusual ears again.
-
Who cares, I am a hanyou, get used to it bitch! spat Inuyasha.
Motoko was surprised by the foul
language he used and she moved away from him. Everything in her cyborg-body told
her that he was dangerous even if he had not drawn his strange sword. She saw
his nails, which looked more like claws than ordinary nails and she shivered.
She was not use to feel fear but she did now. But as usual, she did not show
anything.
Inuyasha smelled the familiar
ramen-scent and he took a deep breath. Finally something he could relate to in
this god-forsaken-era. She put a box of ramen in front of him and it didn’t take
him long to finish it. She smiled and handed over a new one. Man, he was hungry
and ninja-food like this was good for him.
-
Inuyasha…. you seem to be lost here, how is that? she asked as she sat
down in front of him at the table. She put some chop-sticks into a box of ramen
and put some noodles into her mouth.
-
You wouldn’t believe me if I told you Motoko-san, said Inuyasha, unaware
that he had used an honorific to her name.
-
Try me! she demanded.
Inuyasha snorted and inhaled the rest of
the ramen before answering her.
-
I don’t belong here, he said as his hand moved to rest on his sword.
-
Where do you belong?
-
I think that should be more like When I belong not where, said Inuyasha
with a smirk on his lips.
-
When do you belong then Inuyasha-san?
-
In the Senko Jidai.
Motoko looked at him. Time travelling?
No, that could not possible be… could it?
-
There is a well on the Higurashi shrine, around thirty years ago, a young
girl of fifteen fell into that very well and was transported into my time. She
freed me from my prison and we have traveled the country in the past in search
of shards from a magical jewel called Shikon no Tama. But when I went through
the well today something must have gone wrong, because I ended up here and not
in Kagome’s time.
-
Kagome’s time? What year was that then? asked Motoko, she was seriously
interested now.
-
I am not sure Motoko-san, but it was just in the beginning of the year
2000 I guess.
-
Why did you end up here then?
-
I don’t know, something must have gone wrong, said Inuyasha and looked
like he was about to cry. He felt utterly and completely miserable at the
moment. He was stuck in an age where he was totally alone.
-
I will accompany you to the shrine tomorrow, tonight you will rest here.
I assure you that you will be safe, said Motoko as she rose to her feet and took
the empty boxes of instant ramen and threw them into the garbage container.
Inuyasha nodded, he had no other options
than to trust this strange female. She smiled at him and her blue, grey eyes
looked sincere. He wanted to ask her more but suddenly he felt very tired.
Perhaps it was the shock that came back to him, he didn’t know. He accepted her
help as she moved him towards the couch and he lied down. She put a blanket over
him.
-
Tomorrow we will visit the shrine. Rest now my new friend and do not fear
anything, she said with her soft voice and he nodded unaware that he actually
felt completely safe around her.
Motoko saw the hanyou fall asleep and
she knew that this was something that was very unusual. She didn’t need sleep so
she just sat there next to him on the floor, trying to understand everything
that had happened during the short time.
~~~~~~••○••~~~~~~
Inuyasha awoke the next morning by
feeling a head against his shoulder. He opened his eyes and was met by a roof
that was not familiar to him. He was not in Kaede’s old battered hut and he was
not inside Kagome’s room. He looked at the head that was resting against his
shoulder. It had short black hair and it was not Kagome’s hair. She sat on the
floor next to the thing he was sleeping on. What the hell was going on he
thought before the reality hit him in the face like one of Kagome’s famous sits.
He was not in Kagome’s time and he was not in his own time either. He was in a
time where Kagome or her family did not exist. Heck, not even demons seemed to
exist. The female whose head now was resting against his shoulder was not a
human female even though she looked like one.
-
Hey, wench… wake up!! he growled softly as he gently try to shake some
life into her. He was a bit disturbed by the fact that he heard her heartbeats
very faintly; it was there but just not as strong as in a human or a demon.
-
Don’t worry Inuyasha-san, I am awake, said the female as she pulled her
head away from him.
-
I want to go back to the shrine today, said Inuyasha and sat up. He saw
that she stood up as well and he silently cursed his morning mood as his eyes
roamed over her body.
-
As you wish, just let me take a shower first. You could have one too if
you want to, said Motoko and walked over to the bathroom.
Inuyasha mumbled something and tried to
adjust his growing hardness. She was not human and she was not a demon. Why did
he react to her as he did? He wished that he knew…
Motoko was confused as well. She had
seen his morning woody and that affected her more than she was willing to admit.
“Perhaps I am more human that I thought I was?” she thought as the hot
water cleansed her cybernetic body. She washed her hair and body and then she
stepped out of the shower. She dried her body and then she wrapped a giant towel
around her body. She stepped out of the bathroom and walked into her bedroom.
She put on a pair of cotton panties and a cotton bra before she put on her black
jeans and a black t-shirt. As she came out of the bedroom she saw Inuyasha came
out of the bathroom. His hair was wet and she knew that he had taken a quick
shower.
-
Are you ready Inuyasha-san? she asked and he nodded.
They walked out of her apartment and he
showed her the way towards the Higurashi shrine.
Major Kusanagi had almost forgotten
about this shrine. She knew it existed as a part of Tokyo’s heritage, but she
had never been here before. The aging structures looked odd against its natural
surroundings and when her new friend walked into a battered old shed she became
very suspicious.
Inuyasha saw her unbelieving looks and
he grabbed her hand and pulled her into the shed. He pointed towards the well,
telling her that this had been a portal through time. But it was not anymore.
-
Are you sure? she asked more out of taunting than anything else.
Inuyasha growled and before she could
say anything he had picked her up bridal style and jumped into the well. He was
more surprised than her when he realized that they were floating through time
and space. Once his feet touched solid ground he looked up and saw a clear blue
sky. He jumped and then landed on the ground that surrounded the well. He saw
Sango and Miroku stand there. The hanyou wanted to cry when he saw their
familiar faces. Put down the female and looked at his friends. “Who would
have thought that a day would come when I actually want to hug that perverted
monk?” he inwardly laughed.
Motoko was amazed, stunned and utterly
surprised to see a forest so lusciously green. The sky was so clear and the air
so pure. Her friend had spoken the truth.
-
T-this is the S-senko Jidai? she asked as she looked around.
-
Yes, do you believe me now when I tell you that this well is a time
portal? asked her dog eared friend.
She could only nod to his question. She
fell to her knees and put her face against the ground. She inhaled the pure
scent of the earth and relished it smell.
Miroku and Sango looked confused and
tried to find some answers in Inuyasha’s face.
-
Something went wrong, said Inuyasha. – I ended up in some other time and
not with Kagome.
-
W-what? But what about Kagomeeeee, whined Shippou and launched himself
against Inuyasha.
The hanyou gently caught him and held
him in a tender grip.
-
I’m sorry Shippou-chan, I don’t know what happened, said Inuyasha and
rustled the fox’s red hair which probably scared the shit out of the little
brat.
-
But who is she? She’s not human! stated the young fox when he had gotten
over the shock that Inuyasha was not bumping his head, but acted very tender
towards him, not that he complained of course. He loved Inuyasha, but he would
not admit it out loud.
-
I know, said Inuyasha and saw Motoko raise herself from the ground. She
looked around, looking just as confused as he must have been the moment he
stepped into her time.
Motoko looked at Inuyasha who now held
on to a small figure with red hair and a red fox tail, Inuyasha told the rest of
them what happened on the other side of the well… This was getting stranger by
the minute the cyborg thought. The red little figure held an aura unlike a human
one, but the man and the woman next to them… they seemed to be humans. But
still, they were stronger than any human in her own world.
-
Inuyasha-san, where are we? she asked quietly as she moved closer to the
hanyou, she wanted him to confirm it once again.
-
This is the Senko Jidai, said Inuyasha as he walked over to the stunned
female. – This is Shippou, he’s a fox demon.
Motoko nodded to the red being that sat
on Inuyasha’s arm.
-
And these two are Miroku, a perverted monk and his female friend is
Sango, a demon slayer. The two tailed cat on her shoulder is Kirara, a fire cat
demon.
-
Oh… hello, said Motoko and bowed to those Inuyasha introduced her to.
But Shippou didn’t want it to end there.
He missed his Kagome. Inuyasha tried to explain to the little fox what happened
but the child refused to believe him. Fortunately for Inuyasha, Sango came to
his rescue.
Sango knew that Inuyasha would not lie
about something like this. So she took Shippou into her arms and hugged him
close.
-
Shippou-chan, I think Inuyasha speaks the truth. He would not have
brought a human looking thing through the well if he was lying, don’t you agree?
she said as she tried to comfort the child.
-
B-but… what about Kagomeeee? whined the little fox.
-
I don’t know Shippou-chan, but I don’t think Inuyasha is ready to travel
through the well again in case of ending up in a different era. I am sure that
Kagome will come once she has cooled down again, said Sango, as she tried to
comfort the little fox.
Shippou settled with that and let the
demon slayer carry him back to the village.
Motoko followed the rest of the group.
She was still in denial, she could not possible be in the Senko Jidai.. could
she? And yet the surroundings, the way people dressed in the village told her
that she had traveled back in time. Inuyasha introduced her to a one-eyed old
woman named Kaede.
-
This is odd, said Kaede as she looked at Motoko.
-
W-why do you say that? asked Motoko as she tried to find her strength and
power again.
-
You have a human heart child and yet you are not human. And you are not a
demon. This is strange indeed, said the one-eyed woman as she looked at Motoko.
-
She’s a cyborg, said Inuyasha from his place next to the entrance of the
old hut.
-
What is that? asked Kaede.
-
I am only partly human, the rest of me is metal and synthetic skin, said
Motoko, trying to get them to understand what a cyborg was.
-
And yet you have a heart…. and a soul, said Kaede as she used her
miko-powers to scan the strange creature before her. She could feel the soul of
Motoko and it was a strong soul.
The major felt tears in her synthetic
eyes as the old priestess told her this. She had often wondered about it, and
now she knew. She was human even if her body was not. She had a soul and she had
a heart even if it was not beating like a human heart. But she was human. She
gave up a cry of relief, causing the miko and the hanyou to jerk back a bit.
They had no idea how much they had done for her.
The day progressed into evening and
Kaede made them food. Inuyasha as always, inhaled his soup and rice balls. But
he still had some questions he wanted to ask the strange female, but he didn’t
want anyone to listen in on the conversation. So once they had finished eating
he asked her to come with him for a walk.
Motoko nodded and followed the hanyou.
They walked in silence before Inuyasha stopped at the top of the shrine. He
looked at the burial place of Kikyo. He then took a deep breath and looked at
Motoko.
-
So what do you think of this place? asked Inuyasha.
-
It is nice, clean air, fresh water. I like it. It is better then my old
world, said Motoko sincerely.
-
Do you have anyone that will be missing you in your time?
-
I have no family, only the friends at Section 9, but nothing more, said
Motoko.
-
If you want, stay here, said Inuyasha and looked to the darkening sky. He
could see stars lit up, one by one.
-
Thank you Inuyasha, but I don’t think I will fit in here.
Motoko smiled sadly as she followed his
gaze to the sky.
-
I don’t fit in either, but I have made some good friends, said Inuyasha.
-
The little fox, he likes you a lot, said Motoko.
-
Keh, the little runt always whines about Kagome, snorted Inuyasha.
-
Perhaps, but I think it is you he looks up too.
Inuyasha didn’t answer that. He liked
the fox, but go as far as to admit it, no way!
Motoko walked to sit down on a bench.
She liked it here, she really did. And if she could stay here it would be great.
The air was clean, no sounds except the natural ones disturbed the surroundings.
She could live here. Her world was noisy and filthy. She was alone in her world.
Here she could make friends.
-
Are you a good fighter? Inuyasha asked suddenly.
-
Good fighter?
-
Yeah, can you go against demons?
-
I don’t know, never fought against demons before, but I was fighting
crimes back in my time. I know martial art and hand to hand combat. I guess guns
and things like that are not existing in this time, said Motoko.
-
Sango is our best fighter, go against her.
-
Why?
-
If you want to stay with us you will have to fight against demons and
evil men. I want to know if could let you handle yourself. It’s enough to
protect Kagome all the time, said Inuyasha with a light smirk.
-
Don’t you worry about me, said Motoko. – But if Sango is willing to spar
with me, I will show you what I can do.
Inuyasha nodded. He had a feeling that
this strange female was a strong fighter, but he wanted to see it before they
went into a real battle. Kagome was great with her bow and arrows, but in hand
to hand combat, she sucked. He always had to look out for her. But now it was
time to try and get some sleep. He wanted to talk to Sango before finding his
place on Kaede’s roof.
~~~~~~••○••~~~~~~
Sango was more than happy to spar with
Motoko and it was shown that the cyborg female was more than capable of handling
herself in battle. Sango went as far as saying that Major Kusanagi was far
better demon slayer than Sango’s father ever had been. Motoko was stronger than
the average human and she was faster as well. And the fact that she could
practically disappear was a great advantage. Now it was only Kagome that still
was missing. Inuyasha tried to get Shippou to understand that he didn’t want to
go through the well again. He didn’t want to end up in yet another strange era.
What if he couldn’t get back again? Shippou finally admitted that it was better
to wait for Kagome.
-
But I miss her Inuyasha, said Shippou as he was cradled in Inuyasha’s
arms.
-
I know, we all miss her, said Inuyasha and sighed a bit before ruffling
the red hair on Shippou’s head.
The hanyou sat down against a tree trunk
with the fox still in his arms and watched Sango and Motoko spar against each
other. It was amazing to see two warriors like them.
Motoko was stronger and faster than
Sango, but Sango still held her stance against the cyborg.
Shippou saw the strange looks in
Inuyasha’s golden eyes. The fox might be small as a child, but he was a lot
older than he appeared. And he knew that look that the hanyou was giving the new
member of their pack. That was the look you gave a potential mate. But Motoko
was not human, nor was she a demon. She was a mechanical being; she would never
be able to produce cubs, so why did Inuyasha look at her in that way? That was
something that confused the little fox demon.
But that question was soon going to be
answered when Miroku, in his usual way asked Motoko to bear his children. The
cybernetic woman smiled.
-
Although I am capable of bearing children in this body, I don’t think it
will be yours, said Motoko before he was slapped over the head by a growling
hanyou.
-
You can have babies??!! asked Shippou and jumped over to Motoko and sat
down on her shoulder.
-
Yes, those who created my cybernetic body made sure that it would be
possible. It is a bit hard to explain, but since I have my human brain and my
human heart, although encased in a metal shell, I also have emotions. And when I
am ready, I will be able to have children.
Shippou didn’t miss the light that was
lit in a pair of golden eyes. “I am happy for you Inuyasha, and if Kagome
never can return here, I will make sure that you get that stubborn head out of
your ass make Motoko yours. And then we can be a real family.” thought the
fox and was suddenly aware of that he might not se Kagome again… ever. It made
him sad, and yet… perhaps it was all for the best. “But who would help us to
see the shards if Kagome is not with us?”
Shippou was not the only one to have
such thoughts. Old lady Kaede had also been wondering about same thing. If
Kagome didn’t returned, if the well was somehow broken and she couldn’t pass
through anymore… then the sacred jewel would never be completed and destroyed.
The shards still had to be found and somehow they had to find a way to undo
their powers. But how…. how? The old woman wanted to let out a black curse, but
she didn’t. Instead she sighed and tried to find another way. She could see the
shards, not as brightly as Kagome or her long gone sister, but she could sense
them if they came close enough, but then it might be too late. This was
something they had to discuss over dinner.
~~~~~~••○••~~~~~~
Inuyasha agreed to stay two more days in
the village to wait for Kagome. If she had not shown up by then, they would
leave a note in Kaede’s hut, telling her of what happened what their plans were.
It was a risky thing, but it had to be done. Inuyasha mumbled something about
taking Kaede on his back, but the old miko only smiled and said that she had a
horse.
As the two days progressed, no Kagome
showed up. The group decided it was time to seek out the last of the shards and
destroy Naraku. They were all worried about Kagome, but there was nothing they
could do. As they travelled to the north they encountered a few demons, but none
carried the shards of Shikon. But that was soon going to be changed. Inuyasha
could smell the stench of wolves. Kouga and his two dumbass sidekicks, Hakkaku
and Ginta.
They halted their group and waited for
Kouga and his two ‘brothers’ to come to them. Certainly the wolf prince
was coming to proclaim Kagome his mate or court her, as he always did. Well, he
was in for a surprise this time. Motoko moved to stand a bit closer to Inuyasha,
she was a bit weary by the way the group acted and she wanted to be ready if
things turned nasty.
Inuyasha stood smirking as Kouga came up
to the first. Ginta and Hakkaku came a few moments later, panting and breathing
hard.
-
Hey mutt-face, where’s Kagome? the wolf asked bluntly.
-
At home, but that’s none of your business anyway, said Inuyasha as he had
his arms crossed.
-
Who is the old hag? Kouga asked and looked at Kaede.
But that rude question was soon
regretted by the wolf, because Kaede used her bow to smack the wolf over his
head, very hard too. Kouga gave up a pained howl.
-
Hmpf, demon youngsters these days, mumbled Kaede and looked very angry.
But everyone in the group knew that she was not angry, but the wolf surely could
use some ‘spanking’ for using such a foul language.
-
What the fuck did you do that for? growled Kouga but took a few steps
away from the angry old woman. She was a miko and the swap on his head had stung
from her purifying powers. His ice blue eyes then fell upon a female dressed in
black. Her eyes were blue grey and they looked at him as if she was studying
him. It made his skin crawl.
Inuyasha saw the wolf sniff a bit closer
at Motoko and that made the hanyou act. He stepped in front of Motoko and made
Kouga look at him instead.
-
So who’s the new bitch? She’s not human, said Kouga and smirked towards
the protective hanyou.
Before Inuyasha could answer that,
Motoko used her camouflage and turned invisible. Kouga’s blue eyes widened and
looked around but couldn’t see her anywhere.
-
What magic is this? he growled.
-
Wouldn’t you like to know, a voice came from behind and when Kouga turned
around he was met by a loud slap.
Inuyasha was chuckling as Motoko had
bitch-slapped the wolf. She was now back in her normal mode and her eyes were
blazing, but the hanyou could also see a tint of humour in them.
-
W-what the fuck is the matter with everybody today? growled Kouga. – Who
are you then?
-
Prince Kouga, let me introduce our new member, Major Motoko Kusanagi,
said Miroku and stepped in as the given diplomat.
-
Major? What is she big at?
Sango laughed and explained that it was
a military term, a title so to speak.
-
So you are travelling without Kagome-neesan now? asked Ginta once he had
caught his breath and could speak without panting too much.
-
Yes, for now, said Kaede. She rather liked the two wolves that traveled
with the wolf prince.
Kouga couldn’t take his eyes of the
strange female who did not smell like a human or like a demon. It was something
very odd with her, but what was it? He was not sure that he would get any
answers to that even if he asked them. She moved away from him and stood next to
Inuyasha again. This was a female he never would be able to sweep off her feet,
not like he had done with Kagome. No, this female was too strong for that and
too strong willed.
Kaede suggested that they should make
camp here in the clearing and the wolves were invited to stay if they wanted.
Kouga wanted to continue his search for Naraku, but this time Ginta and Hakkaku
said no, they had been running all day and they were tired. If they got into a
fight, they would be of very little help. Kouga sighed and mumbled something
about go hunting. He was accompanied by Sango.
Sango was smiling through whole hunting.
Kouga asked question after question about their new team member and Sango
answered truthfully to each every question. But what shocked her was the
question about Inuyasha choosing her as his mate. That was news to Sango as
well. But now that it was spoken of… and when she came to think about it… the
hanyou was acting rather strangely with Motoko.
-
Are you sure Kouga-san? asked Sango.
-
Yeah, he have marked her with his scent, that was never done with Kagome,
therefore I always thought that Kagome was free for my claiming, said Kouga. –
But I am not sure if the mutt is aware of what he has done.
-
That would not surprise me either. But he has been acting kind of strange
since he came back with her. He’s been more tolerant with Shippou-chan as well.
-
Perhaps he wants to show her that he can be good with pups? said Kouga
and smiled towards the slayer. He admired her, especially the way she handled
herself in battle. And now that he thought of it, man she was a good looking
woman too. The man who got her would be very lucky. His eyes scanned her body
and rested on her hips and thighs. She would have no troubles giving birth to
pups either. Without him knowing it, he licked his lips.
Sango’s instincts went on
‘Wolf-alert’ when she saw his tongue dart out and lick his lips and she took
a better hold of her ‘wolf-pacifier’ – the Hiraikotsu. Suddenly Kouga had
begun sending out the same kind of vibes as Miroku did when the monk was about
to do something perverted. She kept her distance, not trusting the wolf prince
to keep his hands in check.
Sango came back alone with a wild boar
over her shoulder. Kouga was nowhere to be seen. Ginta and Hakkaku shot to their
feet, asking where their leader was.
-
Well, he’s not far from here, I knocked him out, said Sango coolly as she
put down the boar on the ground and took out a dagger and began to gut the
animal.
-
Y-you knocked him out? Why Sango-sama? asked Hakkaku.
-
My guess is that he have been watching a certain monk too long, said old
Kaede with a wide smile and helped Sango with the boar.
-
What are you talking about Kaede-sama? asked Motoko who had no idea what
they were talking about.
-
Ahh, Motoko-sama, let me expl….
Inuyasha knocked out the houshi before
he could come any closer to Motoko.
-
He’s a pervert, and Kouga probably grabbed Sango somewhere he shouldn’t,
said Inuyasha with a growl, but it was a growl with a smile.
-
Oh….OH!!
Shippou the little fox jumped up on
Motoko’s shoulder and looked at the unconscious monk and then he frowned. He
though that Kouga had his eyes on Kagome, so why had he gone about and try and
grab the most dangerous woman around? Poor Shippou, he was confused. He might be
older than he told the others, but some things were just too confusing for him
to understand.
Kouga came back to the camp and he
looked just as guilty as he was. A large bump was shining on his forehead and he
had a large handprint on his cheek. He blushed as he sat down next to his fellow
wolves. But he could not help but send a few glances over at Sango. She couldn’t
look more beautiful than she did now. Not in the eyes of a wolf anyway. She had
just about finish cleaning out the boar and was now slicing big chunks of meat
and gave them to Kaede who put them on sticks to grill over the fire. Sango’s
hands and arms were covered in blood, and she even had some blood on her face.
But Kouga was brought out of his stupor by a small fox that landed in his lap.
-
Hey Kouga, why did you do to Sango? asked the fox.
-
W-what? N-nothing, stuttered the wolf.
-
You don’t get a handprint like that in your face unless you did something
stupid, stated Shippou.
-
Shut up fox, growled Kouga and pushed Shippou off his lap.
Shippou laughed and jumped to Inuyasha
for safety. The hanyou just rustled his hair like he used to do and sniffed the
air. The meat began to smell good as it was cooking over the fire.
Sango disappeared to clean up before
eating but what she wouldn’t give to jump into a hot spring. She sat there next
to the small stream when Inuyasha came and sat down next to her.
-
Uhm… Sango? he began.
-
Yes, what is it Inuyasha?
-
What do you think of Motoko?
-
Huh? Sango looked utterly shocked at his question. Inuyasha was not the
one to talk about things like this.
-
She’s a good fighter right? So I was thinking to ask her to stay with us,
mumbled Inuyasha as faint blush became apparent on his cheeks.
-
Oh… Yes, she’s a good fighter and she’s becoming a good friend as well.
We would all love to have her with us in the group in the future as well, if she
wants to be with us of course, said Sango with a gentle smile. If Kouga was
right, she understood Inuyasha’s question as well now.
Inuyasha nodded and rose to his feet. He
looked around and then at Sango again.
-
If you go up head the stream a bit you’ll find a hot spring, if you girls
want to take a bath after dinner, said Inuyasha before walking away.
“Sometimes I swear that he can read
minds.” thought Sango but was glad that he had
understood her wish to be more clean. She would ask Kaede and Motoko and perhaps
Shippou to come with her to the hot spring after dinner.
~~~~~~••○••~~~~~~
Sango and the other females plus Shippou
went to find the hot spring and Inuyasha promised he would make sure that the
two perverts stayed in camp. Ginta and Hakkaku promised to help as well. They
didn’t want to end up with a dead leader. Kouga was growling and denied the fact
that he had groped Sango, but the truth was that he had. He understood the monk
a little bit better. That soft, squeezable bum of the slayer… he just couldn’t
resist. He had to touch her. Thoughts of Kagome were long gone, now he had set
his eyes on Sango. The monk just smiled and told the wolf that he would have
better luck of getting Kaede into bed.
-
Hey Miroku, what the fuck are you talking about? Aren’t you and Sango
promised to each other? asked Inuyasha surprised to hear the monk talk in such
ways about Sango.
-
My dear friend, Sango and I have come to an understanding, and I shall
not wed her after we vanquish Naraku. And I sadly must admit that I will have
problems with fidelity, said the monk and smiled.
-
She’s not claimed???
Kouga yelled and shot to his feet, but was dragged back down again by Ginta and
Hakkaku. They were afraid that he would run off and claim the slayer.
-
Wow there you crazy wolf. Walk in on the girls when they are taking a
bath is suicide; you have not seen Miroku the times when he was caught by Sango
and Kagome. It took him a week to recuperate, chuckled Inuyasha as he took
another bite his meat stick.
Kouga understood the unspoken threat,
walk in on them now was going to get him killed – by Inuyasha – if the wolf as
much as looked at Motoko wrongly….. Kouga calmed down, but the monk’s word had
etched themselves into his mind. The slayer was unclaimed.
-
But Kougaaaa, whined Ginta. – What about Kagome-neesan?
-
Who? W-what are you talking about?
His two wolf-brothers’ just shook their
heads. This was something different. Kouga had never acted like this when it
came down to Kagome-neesan. If their leader had his way, they would have a demon
slayer as an alpha female in their pack.
~~~~~~••○••~~~~~~
The three women and Shippou were
enjoying their bath to the fullest. Motoko confessed that she never had visited
any of the hot springs in her time and this was amongst the best things she had
experienced. Shippou used his fox magic and created a small ball and they began
to play with it. Kaede kept to herself though, she was too old, but she enjoyed
watching them. Why had she not come along earlier on their trips? This was
almost rejuvenating for her old body and soul. She felt like she was a young
woman again. And this spring…. How long ago had it been since she visited a hot
spring? Too long.
Motoko laughed as water splashed up into
her face. Shippou was a cute child, but sometimes he got this look in his green
eyes that made her wondering how old he really was. Most of the time he was
acting as if he was around eight or ten years old, but his eyes…. They were
older. But since nobody in the group said anything, she never questioned it. The
spring was doing some good to her synthetic skin, for a moment she almost felt
completely human.
-
Hey Motoko-chan, called Sango.
-
Yes Sango-chan?
-
What would you say about staying with us here? asked Sango.
-
Here in the spring? asked Motoko and smiled teasingly.
-
No, I mean with us… in our time.
-
That would be very nice, if you want me to stay. I have nothing that
bounds me in my time, so I have nothing there. Why do you ask?
-
Because you have become a good friend and we could sure use all the help
we could get to defeat Naraku and take back the rest of the shards. Plus… I know
a certain person who would love to be with us, said Sango with a smug smile.
Motoko gently lowered her eyes and her
artificial blood caused her cheeks to redden just slightly. Kaede chuckled from
her corner and the moment was broken. Shippou began to fool around in the water
again and then they all laughed.
Kaede and Shippou was the first to leave
the hot spring. Sango and Motoko decided to linger a little bit longer in the
warm water.
-
Sango-chan, would you like to tell me what happened with you and that
wolf demon… Kouga? asked Motoko.
-
Ehh, nothing, mumbled Sango and turned beet red in the face. She found
her wash cloth and soaped it up and began scrubbing her body.
-
Somehow I don’t believe that very much. Come on tell me… I never had a
girl friend before so, but I have read about it in magazines, we girls are
supposed to talk about this stuff. Girl talk…
Sango let out a roaring laugh with made
the wild life in the area come to life and ran away. After that outburst Sango
told Motoko about what happened in the woods while she and Kouga were hunting.
Motoko was stunned, did every male in
this time do things like that? Just grab a woman’s butt? “No wait, that can
not be true, Inuyasha never tried to grope me.” she thought but she did
remember his blushing face as he tried to hide his morning woody. “But that
was just natural, most men have that.” But what shocked her the most was
that she actually wanted him to touch her. She shook her head, perhaps the moist
fumes of the spring were getting to her head. They washed up in silence and were
soon heading back to camp again.
~~~~~~••○••~~~~~~
Kouga refused to leave the shard hunting
group now that he knew that Sango was unclaimed. Hakkaku and Ginta were
surprised but grateful for it. Now they didn’t have to run until their legs
practically went numb in order to keep up with their leader. What amazed the
rest of the group was how Kouga and Inuyasha got along. No fights occurred like
it had in the past, no quarrels, although they did insult each other, but the
sting was gone from the words. Kaede seem to get younger for each day they
traveled and that made everybody happy, including the wolves. They respected the
one-eyed miko, and she became a pillar of strength and comfort for the whole
group. Motoko and Sango became even closer friends and they often walked behind
the group, whispering girly secrets to each other. Sango was in for a shock as
Major Kusanagi one day asked the slayer what she used when her period came. The
cyborg actually had a monthly bleeding?
Motoko was a bit shaken when she
realized it one morning. The blood had come as a shock to her as well, but then
she remembered that her body would adjust when she was ready for it. And
obviously, she was ready for something since she began to bleed. That morning
she woke Sango and they walked away from the group. The major asked with a
blushing face what to use when bleeding down there.
Sango showed Motoko how to make an inlay
of moss and grass. It looked unsanitary, but it wasn’t. The moss itself was
anti-bacterial and the grass held the moss in place. Motoko asked what the moss
was called and Sango just said White moss (1), because it was white.
Amazed of its qualities and the fact
that it worked very well, Motoko put the information into her databank. If she
ever were thrown back into the future, she would leave the city and live of the
land just like she did now with her new friends. As they walked towards the
north she became more and more aware of then hanyou. Why she did not know. But
it was something about him that just tingled her inhuman senses. But it looked
like she wasn’t alone. She saw Sango look at the wolf prince in just the same
way she was looking at Inuyasha. Her memory began to replay words like
double-dating and that brought a giggle onto her lips. Everybody looked at her
in confusion and she waved her hands in front of her, telling them it was
nothing.
Kaede, Shippou and Kirara had a small
talk amongst them and the old miko was the first to learn about Shippou’s real
age and that he was not as innocent as he set out to be. They made a small bet
amongst them, which would be the first to mate – Inuyasha and Motoko or Sango
and Kouga. It didn’t take long until Ginta and Hakkaku was in on the wager as
well.
The extended shard hunting group was
divided into three camps. Inuyasha, Miroku and Kouga, taking the lead as they
traveled. Kaede, Shippou, Kirara and Hakkaku and Ginta were the middle group.
Sango and Motoko made sure that they all were protected from attacks in the
back. Kouga and Sango were the hunters in the group, but sometimes Inuyasha
would go with Ginta and Hakkaku to find food for them.
Miroku never failed to get them rooms if
they choose to stay in a village. He did his hoaxing and voila – free rooms for
the night. But it was Miroku who began to notice that something began to
transform two of the females in the group. Kaede and Motoko. Kaede seem to
become younger for each day. She became stronger and could endure longer periods
of travelling without having a break. And Motoko, from having no aura to have an
aura. But who could he talk to about these things? Kouga and Inuyasha were still
growling like two dogs over a piece of bone. Sango… no, he was not sure if she
would understand, or even believe him. But it was Kouga and Inuyasha he finally
spilled his concerns.
****
Ahh, as you can see...
this will actually be at least a two-part (could be more) Cocktail Mix.
This was not rating either NC-17 or perhaps even R... But it will be so stay
tuned...
Questions that probably
will be raised after this:
Will Kaede be young and paired up with someone?
And Shippou - will we know his real age?
And what is happening with Motoko?
Hmmm... man I like to let
you walk on the razor's edge..
But please let me know what you think of this so far... You know - your reviews
gives me life.
Love you all...
