Lilly

Chapter 1

Kagome angrily stomped to the well with her arms crossed. Inuyasha was right behind her with his arms crossed as well.

" Look bitch I told you we have shards to find. We can't always stop for you to let you come home." Inuyasha yelled at Kagome.

" Inuyasha, I've been here for two weeks, two weeks Inuyasha. We are out of medical supplies and we are almost out of food. Just let me go home for three days." Kagome begged facing Inuyasha pleading with her eyes. She didn't want to fight with Inuyasha but sometimes there was no helping it.

" No, Naraku could take over this whole area in three days." Inuyasha said.

" Well, I'm sure you wouldn't let him." Kagome said trying to butter him up to let her go.

" No wench your staying here." Inuyasha said tilting his head up and turning around to walk to the village.

Kagome couldn't take it no more. ' Fine, he wants to always do this the hard way.'

Inuyasha turned around noticing Kagome didn't start to follow him yet. " Bitch are you coming or do I have to throw you over my shoulder and take you to the village myself."

" Inuyasha...SIT!" Kagome screamed and Inuyasha went face first into the ground. She could hear him mummble something but she didn't care.

She smiled at her work and turned to face the well. " I'll see you in three days and don't come for me either." Kagome said as she jumped into the well.

Kagome landed on the well ground with a small thud. She looked up to see a roof over her head and noticed she was back home in the future. She picked up the big yellow bag that fell off her shoulder when she landed and she put it back on. She slowly climbed up the well with the ladder that her grandfather put in it. Once she got to the top she adjusted the bag again and opened the well house doors and she stepped outside. Once she closed the doors back she heard her grandfather singing some song she never heard of while he swept.

' Thats gramps for ya.' Kagome thought as she smiled and went to the house. Once inside she noticed her mother cooking something and her brother at the table doing something that looked like his homework

" Kagome, I see you have returned. How is the shard hunting going dear?" Kagome's mother asked.

" Its going fine mother. I'm just here for three days to get some supplies and take a little break. I'm going up stairs to take a bath. I'll be down after while." Kagome said as she set her bag down beside the table and went up stairs to the bathroom. As she started the water her mother handed her some clean clothes to change into and a towel and wash rag. Kagome smiled at her sweet mother before her mother stepped out and closed the bathroom door to give her daughter her privacy.

Once the bath tub was full of nice hot water Kagome stepped in and got comfortable. She sighed in pleasure as the water soothed the musceles in her body.

Down stairs Ms. Higurashi was adding more vegetables to the pot when her father came in. He stepped in and closed the door and setting the broom up against the wall. " You know you have to tell her before it gets too late. She is coming tomorrow and Kagome needs to know." Grandpa said.

" I know, but its going to be so hard for her now. She had no say in this at all and this is going to change her life around." Ms. Higurashi said is a sad tone of voice.

" I know as well, but it was written and so it must be done." Grandpa said as he left the room and went to the living room where Souta was.

Ms. Higurashi heard her daughter come down the stairs. She turned to see her daughter with a towel over her head still drying it. Kagome sat down at the kitchen table and smilled at her mother. Ms. Higurashi smiled back and went back to cooking dinner.

' Its now or never and I need to get this off my chest.' Ms. Higurashi thought.

" Kagome, you know auntie Ellen and uncle Jack? The ones that went to the U.S. for a vacation." Ms. Higurashi asked.

" Yes, I remember and aunt Ellen was pregnant at the time I think. Wasn't she?" Kagome asked as she still dried her hair.

" Yes, well I have bad news sweetheart." Ms. Higurashi stated.

Kagome stopped drying her hair and looked up and her mothers teary eyes. " What happened mom?" Kagome asked.

Ms. Higurashi stopped what she was doing and came and sat down at the table with Kagome. " They died in a terrible car wreck in New York. A truck hit their car head on at a fast speed. They died on impact, so they didn't suffer." Ms. Higurashi said the last part softly as tears came down her cheeks.

Kagome felt her eyes water at the news. " Poor aunt Ellen and Uncle Jack." Kagome said. " What about the baby? Did it survive?" Kagome asked.

Ms. Higurashi took a napkin from her pocket and blew her nose. " Actually that is what I need to talk to you about." Ms. Higurashi stated.

" The Will was read last Friday and since you were not here I went and took your place. Did you know that you were their favorite niece?" Ms. Higurashi said changing the subject a little.

" Yes mother, but what does that have to do with me?" Kagome asked still teary eyed.

" Their daughter is three and Ellen knew you were eighteen now and now an adult. She said she knew that you would be perfect to be Lilly's mother. In her Will she stated that she wanted you to have full custody of her daughter and nobody else would be better then you." Ms. Higurashi stated.

Kagome sat there with wide eyes. " You mean I'm a mother of a child I never met before." Kagome said slowly. " Can they do that?" she asked.

" I guess since I got the papers yesterday and all you need to do is sign them and she will be your daughter." Ms. Higurashi said.

" I'm only eighteen mother and I just got out of high school. I have not job and what about me going to college?" Kagome asked.

" I thought about it and I come up with a plan. I'll take care of her while your in college and money is no problem so you don't need a job right now. I'm telling you Kagome, she wouldn't give you her daughter if she knew you couldn't handle it." Ms. Higurashi stated.

Kagome cleared her eyes with a napkin and cleared her throat. " When is she coming?" Kagome asked.

" Lilly is coming tomorrow afternoon. I'll have the crib in your room and I'm getting all the baby things out of the garage so we can use it." Ms. Higurashi stated. " I have diapers already and baby food. We are set and I know we can get through this."

" It isn't about if I can get through this mom...Its if Inuyasha can get through this." Kagome said.

" Oh no, I forgot all about him. How are you going to take care of Lilly if your in the past?" Ms. Higurashi asked.

" I'll find some way mother and if I have to I'll take her to the past with me...I just have to find out how." Kagome said.

" Are you sure its safe to bring a three year old to a demon infested time?" Ms. Higurashi asked.

" I have to mom, its the only way and Inuyasha will protect us." Kagome said.

" Okay dear." Ms. Higurashi said as she stood up and turned off the fire for the stove. She took out four bowls and poured the soup inside of each bowl and set them on the table. Everybody came and sat down to eat and chat.

Once dinner was over Kagome, Souta, and her Grandfather went to the storage room to get the baby things. Her and her brother brought the crib up and set it up up against a wall by the door. Gramps put the high chair for the baby to sit in and eat up against the table. They put other things up before going to bed since it was so late.

Once Kagome got in bed she kept thinking about how much her life was going to change. It could be for better or it could be for worse. ' I guess I'll just have to wait and see.' Kagome thought as she closed her eyes and let sleep over take her.

Kagome woke up to the sound of birds outside her window. She looked to her clock and saw it was only 10AM so she got up and made her bed before going to take a shower. Once done she put on a pair of hip hugging blue jeans and a simple white shirt that clung to her breasts, but not in a perverted way. Kagome put her hair up in a little clamp that was decorated with a white flower and let a few peices of hair hang down in a wavy kind of way. Kagome looked beautiful as she looked her self in the mirror.

On her way down she heard her family downstairs talking. Once at the bottom of the stairs she smelled her mothers homemade waffles and they smelled so good. Kagome sat down at the table and started eating with her family. Once they were finished Kagome helped her mother with the dishes, while her brother and grandpa went and played around.
It was around 1PM now and Kagome was getting nervous. She was going to meet her daughter any minute now and she was scared that Lilly wasn't going to like her. Looking out the window Kagome could see a tall man dressed in all black climb the stair holding hands with a little girl. Kagome could smile at how the little child could look so sweet and innocent.

She had short black hair that was up in two little ponytails on top of her head. She had on a cute little pink dress and she was holding a teddy bear in her other hand. She looked adorable and Kagome couldn't wait to meet her.

Kagome could hear the doorbell and her mother answering the door. She could hear her mother greet the all black dressed man.

" Hello?" Kagome's mother asked greeting the man.

" Yes, I'm hear to bring this little angel to a Ms. Kagome Higurashi. I'm officer Donalds." Dondalds said.

" I'm her mother Ms. Amy Higurashi. Just a second and I'll call her." Amy said. " Kagome, she's here."

Kagome heard her mother call her so she slowly walked to the door way and there she saw her. She actually smiled at Kagome and she saw the cute little dimples on her cheeks. Kagome smiled back and walked up to her.

" Hey little girl, I'm Kagome and who are you? " Kagome asked giving the cute little girl a smile.

The little girl smiled back, " I'm Lilly." she answered in a sweet little voice.

Kagome picked up the little girl, " Well, Lilly are you hungry?" Kagome asked and the little girl nodded her head with a yes. Kagome took Lilly's bag out of Officer Donalds hand and they smiled before the officer left.

Kagome took Lilly to the kitchen. " Lilly, do you want a PB & J sandwich?" Kagome asked.

" Yes, please." Lilly said. Kagome and Lilly fixed each other a sandwich and they ate it together. Amy watched from the kitchen doorway and smiled. Her father came up from behind her. " It seems they are getting along very well." Gramps said.

" Yes, it seems that way. Now, we have to see if it will stay good this way." Amy said as she went into the kitchen and started on dinner, while Kagome took Lilly into the living room after they ate to watch TV with Souta.

A/N: Thats my first chapter of this story. I got the idea from just thinking about everyday life and all. I head something like that could actually happen and so I got the idea to write this story about it. Well, tell me what you think and review.
