Chapter one: No Luck
Kagome walked out of a small cabin that her family and her were renting from her employer. Her mother worked in the laundry, brother worked with the gardens at the estate, and she cleaned and took care of a large estate that is owned by Taiyoukais’ family. She was one of the many maids at the estate. She worked from 6 am to 9 pm every day. Kagome wanted to make something of her life, but her dad racked up debt with Taiyoukais’ and now that he ran off, they owed their life time service to repay it. Kagome walked into the back of the estate, chef was at work for the family’s breakfast meal. She bowed slightly to the chef, who looked at her a little while she walked through the kitchen. As she walked through the dining room, she saw one of the Taiyoukais’ flirting with another maid. The girl flaunting her ass giggled and walked back to do her duties. InuYasha Taiyoukai, who was a whore in her books, because of the many women he has slept with. He tried to get into every maid pants, except her and her mother have fallen for hers looks, money, and false beliefs. She noticed that as soon as the other maid walked off the wife of Inu no Taisho walked down the stairs, she wasn’t the mother of Inu no Taisho’s sons and his third wife glared down at the help like she was better than them.
“InuYasha, we are to throw a party for your brother,” Tasha said, she turned and looked at Kagome, “you, go get his room ready.”
Kagome bowed slightly turned and walked up the stairs. Tasha hated everyone that gets in her way, she barely could stand Inu no Taisho’s sons, they got into her way of getting any money from Inu no Taisho’s death. Kagome made it to the top of the stairs where Inu no Taisho walked out in a suit, he was a very rich man and if you got in his way he would remove you from equation, which is why she was working this crappy job. She bowed to him as he got closer to her, he stopped only a foot away from her.
“Have you heard the news,” he asked eagerly, “my son is coming home!”
“Yes,” she said with her head bowed slightly, “I was sent to freshen up his room.”
“Yes,” he said as he started down the stairs, but stopped looking back at her “I know it is hard that the debt that your father left, then you and your family coming here to work for me to repay the debt.”
“It’s alright sir,” she said in a low tone, “am I dismissed?”
“Yes, go on your duties,” he said as turned and walked the rest of the way down the long stairway.
Kagome closed her eyes as she entered Sesshomaru’s room. She pulled the curtains open, letting light into the room. Pulling the bed apart, throwing the covers into a basket just outside in the hallway. Placing clean linen on the bed. Kagome placed the pillows back on the bed, towels on the racks in the bathroom, and his robe hanging on the door. She signed brushing her hand across it. Pulling her hand away and continued on her business. She arranged the room into something that was respectable for Sesshomaru. She hauled all the dirty linens down the hall, but was stopped but InuYasha looking at her with lust filled eyes.
“Hey there Kagome,” he said sexy.
“Do you need your room cleaned sir?” she said looking down.
He smirked, “oh yes, I have something hard that needs your attention.”
“Sir, I cannot help you with that, but maybe Reka could,” she muttered.
“No I want your help,” he said attempting to reach for her.
Kagome backed up with basket in hand, but as she did that she tripped over her own feet and fell backwards. The basket landed strait on top of her. She let out a scream that somehow Inu no Taisho heard from in a small distance away. He was up the stairs, faster then what she ever knew that a human could run. He kneeled down to Kagome, then glared at his son.
“What did you do to her?” Inu no Taisho snarled to InuYasha.
“He did nothing,” Kagome gasped out, as Inu no Taisho looked down at her.
“Are you sure?” He asked.
“Yes,” she said rubbing her ankle.
Inu no Taisho looked down at Kagome’s ankle. Kagome shrugged it off, pulling herself up off the ground. Both men watched as she got up. She knew that she twisted her ankle, but she couldn’t show that she was wounded. She grabbed her basket from the floor and Inu no Taisho reached out to help, but Tasha walked up the stairs glaring at Kagome.
“Don’t help the help,” she ground out at the men.
Kagome walked away from the men and the bitch. She one day would make her something. Kagome knew not how she was going to do that, but she was going to do such that. Living like this wasn’t the best life, but it was keeping food in her and her family’s bellies; and there was a roof over their head. She brought the dirty linens into the laundry where her mother took them to the washer. Her mother looked at her pained expression.
“What is wrong, my daughter,” she asked.
“I think I sprained my ankle,” Kagome said standing near her.
Her mother gasped and looked down at Kagome injured leg. “Are you able to work, you know you can’t lose this job.”
“No, I won’t lose it, Mom don’t worry I work my ass off to pay off dad’s debt” she growled out.
“Don’t speak wrongly about your father, he has only used money,” her mother snapped.
“He’s so deep that he couldn’t dig himself out of this shit if he even wanted too,” Kagome said, as she stormed out of the laundry room.
Kagome made it to the living room, when she noticed groups of people started to show up. She knew that the party that Tasha was throwing was about to happen and that also meant Sesshomaru would be here soon. She held her breath as the large doors swung open and there he stood, her heart almost stopped beating. He walked in as the doors closed behind him. The crowd began to mingle around him, hoping get stories of his travels.
She stood there watching him, looking somewhat scared and missing this very man. He left for a year, going away to travel around the world. She stood there keeping an eye on this man, who she had liked since she was a young girl. Sesshomaru looked up from the crowd and caught her glaze. She noticed that his eyes lit a bit. He moved from the crowd towards her, she felt her heart go up in her throat. She held onto the wall behind her.
“Kagome,” he said, as he reached her, “you grew a lot.”
Kagome blushed, “thanks, you have to.”
He reached over to her, lightly touching her shoulders. She shivered at his touch, it warmed her soul just feeling his touch. She looked up into his eyes and smiled. “Well I need to get back to work,” she moved away as soon as she saw Tasha walking towards both of them. She glared at Kagome as she got closer.

“Don’t bother the work,” she stated with anger in her voice.
