My name is Kagome Higurashi, and I don’t need to tell you my story. You were there when I was taken from my home in modern Tokyo. You were there when I found Inuyasha and shatter the Shikon no Tama. You have seen every demon we killed, every shard we collected, and every friend we made. You witnessed the destruction of Naraku and the Shikon jewel. Your heart shattered with mine as I was whisked back to my time and locked out of what I considered my true home. And you smiled with me as I was miraculously returned to it. You know that I mated Inuyasha after three long years of separation. You know all of these things, dear audience, because they were recorded. As I traveled back and forth in those early years, my brother wrote of my adventures. We sat in my bedroom every night that I came back, and he took notes of everything I said. These notes turned into many graphic novels, and those where turned into a cartoon show. I know these things because I have read the books, and watched the show. How am I still alive to see these things? Well, as many of the fanfiction authors and readers have guessed, my life is tied with my mate. It’s actually a bit more complex than that, but we won’t get into that. Let’s just leave it as a black and white fact: one soul will not leave without the other. I would like to clear a few things up before moving on. I am married and mated to the hanyou Inuyasha. Not Sesshomaru, and not Kouga. You people are very creative to come up with plausible and explainable ways that I could ever sleep with Naraku (I shudder at the thought), Bankoutsu, Miroku, and Sango. I found a story with myself and three of the above mentioned demons. Let’s be realistic here, people. I can admit that they are all physically attractive. But how in the world… never mind. Moving on.
Actually, before we move on, I feel that a couple more things need to be said. I was never that whiny in real life, I never said ‘Sit’ that much, and Miroku was not that bad. These are minor details that have always bothered me, but now we are moving on.
I know what you’re thinking, ‘Are you so self-absorbed that you devote the entirety of your time to watching a play-by- play of the most exciting years of your life?’ the answer to that is ‘No.’
Only when I get really bored. And those weren’t the most exciting. That was just a year of my life sprinkled with an epilogue at the end. The real excitement began a few years later, when my kids where born. I am going to finish my story. Well, it’s not really just my story anymore. It’s ours. Let’s see; there’s myself, Inuyasha, Kachio, Ryuumiu, and Tsuki. We will be your narrators from now on. And on the off chance that there is an entry by somebody else, know that it is because they were begged to add on to our little project. Farewell, my beloved and loyal readers. It’s been a blast sharing these things with you. And now, I bid you adieu.
