    Chapter 8

Huzzah Jinenji!! I didn't think that he would be back in time to make any kind of a difference, but he did. Whoo Hoo!

About 1/2 way though this chapter, when you mentioned that Manten was actually coming to taunt and tempt Inuyasha, I got really rather mad at him. I can't wait until Sess and the rest of the party come back and see just what has happened. I'm glad that Yasha will survive to see it, too. Yasha needs to see that not all youkai are as evil and twisted as Manten is.

Your telling of the years of Jinenji's struggles with Death were really rather interesting. I loved the idea of Death being reluctant to take Inuyasha because his passing was so unnatural, unjust and unnecessary. I also liked the kindness Jinenji showed the little nurse. She was really put in the middle for all of this. How DARE that refuse order the poor little think to keep silent when he knew the truth. I certainly hope his punishment fits his crimes!

I also liked how you had Jinenji open the door to the prison. It was just as horse-like an action as Inuyasha's occasional ear-scratch and made me smile.

Off to read the next chapter! Thanks for sharing!

I love this story, enough that instead of waiting to check for new chapters in the morning, I start refreshing from midnight. Tonights chapter came through at 1.30 and was worth it. though if you start to miss days as you did yesterday for the sake of work I might have to force myself to wait until morning (1.30 is morning isn't it? :-))
(I'd don't know what time it is for you but I'm in Western australia, still it's worth it)

Ah! I was just doing some re-reading and I absolutely love how you portrayed Jinenji attempting to order the poor little nurse to divulge her secret. It was so cute and sweet! Really well done! Now, I'm going back to study the interactions between Inuyasha's aspects. My brain keeps taking short vacations, but meds will be here in a week or two and then I won't have to put so much effort into seeing everything! Yay!

That was amazing and so dramatic I was breathless by the end of it. I just got a chance to read the last 5 chapters or so I've been to busy lately and they were amazing. Loved the tribute gifts great idea and Sessh's reaction when he finally saw Inuyasha for the first time priceless. I hate Manten and hopes he suffers a bit before death. I loved Jinenji what a sweetheart and only a real healer with one who heals with their mind and soul and not just their knowledge would be able to be so connected with death as to follow it's leads. I love how you described death and it's reluctance to take Inuyasha's soul. I can't blame the little raccoon nurse she isn't all that sharp obviously and most would be reluctant to go against someone who is higher up in the heirechy so I'm thrilled Jinenji kind of sort of ordered it from her kind of. I will be waiting for the next update and for Sessh's return I really am getting into this story and I didn't think I would.

is it sad that I'm refreshing your author page ever half hour on the chance that you've updated? I'm really enjoying your work.

Thank you for filling in the gap! I didn't doubt you.

I LOVED this new chapter. The healer has a beautiful soul. And your depiction of death and how death interacts with the healer, oddly calming and respectful. I don't know if its all the time I've spent in Asia and the concept of the wheel of life or what, but it drew me in.

I'm sitting here just being happy with this new developement, almost like an emotional crash after the last chapter. I want the next chapter, and I have all sorts of curious questions about how Inuyasha will wake up and the consequences for certain unsavory characters. At the moment, I feel like your healer must feel, relief, even knowing the storms not over.

One odd questions, after all this time, will Inuyasha be able to handle kindness?

I really enjoyed this new chapter!! I love the way you mentioned what Inuyasha had been up to for the last nine days without dragging it on. I'm also very satisfied with the twist, of course I couldn't help but hope for Sesshoumaru, but the new twist was definitely acceptable! I liked the suprise! And you didn't have to put the warning in, it would have been more suspenseful without it (but I was so eager to read this chapter I totally skipped over the warning at first anyway!). Great job and I can't wait for when Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha finally encounter each other once again (though I do realize it probably won't be next chapter...)!! Keep up the wonderful work!

I love it! Jinenji's role is great. I certainly want to see Manten get what he deserves. I'm also doing a nano, but I'm not as far along as you are. Great progress.

I love your stories. I also like that you had a chapter dedicated to a minor character in the series. I'm glad that and i like the fact he can see death. I can see that in a healer. I can't wait till next chapter.

I think the angst was right, for the events in this chapter. Manten has nine days to be stupid. I wonder very much if he will actually be able to contain himself and not return time and again to taunt Inuyasha. I was somewhat surprised at the end, with the dominant selfs exceptence of death. It wasn't mentioned when the four where speaking and seems as if they weren't aware of the deadline at all. Looking back with that information, it seems that Yasha has chosen to die with Iny and Inuyasha, thus condemning Pup to die as well. Which seems in line with Yasha's 'heart' if you will. Pup would be devastated if any of the personalities failed and balance is the only way he's maintained hismelf. I felt teary at the end though, as Inuyasha calmly thought about embracing Pup at least and fading as Yasha dealth with the pain of death. I wanted to pick him and hold him and tell him he didn't have to. You're tearing me up here, honestly.

I shudder at the thought of Sesshemoru's rage. How Manten ever got this stupid, I can't begin to guess, an unhealthy overdose of arrogance, possibly. But I totally believe it. It's in no way unbelievable. I wondered though, how Manten is going to deal with the nurse. Is she dead by now, will he kill her, because that's the biggest hole in the story he spun to Inuyasha. Also, Inuyasha hasn't completely delt with that problem. He seems unable to focus on it and just went on. Not that I blame him.

Soaking your hands in warm salt water might revive your ability to type, a very necessary and desired outcome!
